43. 2:26we have to refuse to allow that to occur and welcome the King of glory to grasp a hold of us personally.
44. 2:33Never forget that God's desire for his people is that whatever we engage in in terms of external ministry engagements,
45. 2:41and I mean sharing with those beyond ourselves, the Lord's desire is for that to be the overflow of what we enjoy with him personally.
46. 2:51That has, it has to be that reality.
47. 2:57The Lord doesn't want us trying to pour out of empty vessels.
48. 3:01He doesn't want us trying to sell what we have not purchased.
49. 3:05This is why when you see the Shma on Deuteronomy six,
50. 3:09the first component of cascading the love for the Lord begins
51. 3:13with you shall love the Lord with all your heart,
52. 3:15all your strength, all your soul.
53. 3:18You love the Lord with all you are.
54. 3:20And once that is established,
55. 3:23You teach that love for the Lord that you have diligently.
56. 3:27That is God's manner, God's way for us.
57. 3:30And that's why you have wonderful texts like taste and see
58. 3:34that the Lord is good.
59. 3:35You know, you have, you know, the woman who met Jesus

72. 4:09that which has apprehended me, glory to God.
73. 4:13So as you're making your transition,
74. 4:15man do so with intentionality.
75. 4:17Let the primacy that God places on your faithfulness
76. 4:20your home to govern and guide and guard how you engage in your home.
77. 4:23If your husband liked me the first external responsibility we have for ministerial investment
78. 4:29is our wives.
79. 4:31If your wife listening to the show your first responsibility ministerially is to your husband.

83. 4:45growing in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

86. 5:01What we're going to begin the program today in Jeremiah 17, because this is the foundational
87. 5:10notion that much of mankind to date, including many of our fellow countrymen, are fumbling
88. 5:17over. And this is where the issue of divergence truly is. I shared a couple of weeks ago,
89. 5:27not that. Yeah, it was a couple of weeks ago. The late Justice Antonin Scalia explaining
90. 5:32what makes our Constitution unique, what makes our form of government unique. And he explained
91. 5:40as powerful and necessary as a declaration of independence is that our nation is not unique
92. 5:46in terms of declaration of rights, like the Bill of Rights, even though obviously those
93. 5:51rights are important. But other nations have Bill of Rights. He talked about how the Soviet
94. 5:58Union in Russia had a declaration of rights that exceeded our bill of rights, but what was what is the major difference?
95. 6:05Justice Scalia explained it was a separation of powers it was a refusal to allow a consolidation of
96. 6:13power governmentally a centralization of it well when you dig a little bit deeper and
97. 6:20Study Madison's notes on the Constitution. You don't have to wonder hmm
98. 6:24And why have in all of the civilizations and nations that have been founded in all of mankind's
99. 6:29history, why was the United States of America the first nation to have such a diffusion of
100. 6:34power?
101. 6:35I mean, Justice Scalia even explained even in the parliamentary system that the proverbial
102. 6:40executive is a feature of parliament, is a creature of parliament.
103. 6:44That's why you don't have any disagreement between parliament and the prime ministers
104. 6:49usually.
105. 6:50And if the parliament doesn't like the prime ministers, what do they do?
106. 6:52They get rid of the prime minister.
107. 6:55Why do we have the separation of powers?
108. 6:57You study James Madison's notes on the Constitution.
109. 7:00You study the Federalist Papers.
110. 7:03You study the debates concerning the Constitution,
111. 7:05and they will turn you right to where we're going today,
112. 7:07in Jeremiah 17.
113. 7:09Jeremiah 17 verses 9 and 10, this is what the scripture says.
114. 7:14The heart is more deceitful than all else,
115. 7:18and is desperately sick.
116. 7:21All other translations might say,
117. 7:23might say do say that the heart is is desperately wicked. The heart is deceitful and desperately
118. 7:29wicked. Who can know it? The NESB here says, who can understand it? Then verse 10 goes on to explain,
119. 7:36I, the Lord, search the heart. I test the mind even to give to each man according to his ways,
120. 7:45according to the results of his deeds. The major distinction that we're having,
121. 7:51the arguments that are percolating in our nation
122. 7:55is they really are grounded in whether or not we believe
123. 7:59that Jeremiah is 17 versus nine in tenor true,
124. 8:03verse nine in particular.
125. 8:05When you consider the various worldviews
126. 8:08in ideologies that persist in our society,
127. 8:10they fundamentally come down to two considerations.
128. 8:12Is it God's word that will prevail or man's word?
129. 8:16One of the foundational tenets of man's word,
130. 8:19which manifests itself in socialism and communism and all these other type of isms and schisms that don't have rhythm is
131. 8:26that a
132. 8:28Marxist framework denies
133. 8:31Man's sinfulness. That's why you have this consistent push for human utopia
134. 8:38void of submission to God. I saw a debate earlier
135. 8:44Not a debate. I guess it was an interview old interview between Phil Donahue and Milton Friedman
136. 8:49And Phil Donahue, he put on his deep concern and compassionate tone of voice and said,
137. 8:57you know, Mr. Friedman, when I survey what is transpired under our capitalist society,
138. 9:03you see so many instances of greed and abuse that doesn't make you wonder.
139. 9:09And whether or not capitalism is something that we should embrace, to which Milton Friedman
140. 9:13responded, say, you think greed is limited to capitalistic framework?
141. 9:20So, so you think there's no greed in Russia?
142. 9:24There's no greed in China.
143. 9:26There's no greed in China.
144. 9:32The reason why the capitalistic framework works better than any of these other systems
145. 9:36is because it doesn't deny man's sinfulness.
146. 9:40It's the best, not perfect, but the best system at understanding man's sinfulness.
147. 9:47in using the reality of man's sinfulness to force man to be a benefit to his neighbor.
148. 9:55That the only way that you can succeed in a capitalistic system is if you produce something
149. 10:03that will benefit your neighbor.
150. 10:07If you come up with an invention and it doesn't help anybody's lives to get better, it doesn't
151. 10:10help anybody do tasks better, it doesn't accomplish anything to benefit someone beyond
152. 10:15yourself, then you will not have a marketable business commodity.
153. 10:21You will at best have a hobby within the capitalistic framework.
154. 10:25You see James Madison said this in Federalist 51, quote, it may be a reflection on human
155. 10:32nature.
156. 10:33That's such devices, checks and balances should be necessary to control the abuses of government.
157. 10:39But what is government itself but the greatest of all reflections on human nature?
158. 10:45If men were angels, no government would be necessary.
159. 10:49If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would
160. 10:55be necessary.
161. 10:56Guys, that's what it boils down to.
162. 11:00That's what it all boils down to.
163. 11:03The heart truly is the heart of the matter.
164. 11:07And if we reject, let me say it differently, if we deny and reject the biblical truth about
165. 11:14mankind's sinful nature, we will suffer the consequences of that rejection. We'll suffer
166. 11:23the consequences of that rejection. This is not to sanitize or to aggrandize a selfishness,
167. 11:35a self-centeredness, but it takes into consideration the self-interested disposition
168. 11:42a mankind has and says, well, because this is the way that we are made in order for you
169. 11:47to thrive in this system of interacting, because that's truly what it is.
170. 11:55You know, in an economics class, I teach to homeschoolers.
171. 11:58I explain what is a market, a marketplace, where goods and services are exchanged for
172. 12:03remuneration.
173. 12:05Well, when you come to market in order for your offering to be beneficially exchanged,
174. 12:13It has to be a benefit to someone else.
175. 12:18Your motivation may be to generate profit, but the only way you're going to be able to
176. 12:24generate profit is by having something that adds value to someone else's life.
177. 12:31And this is the foundational tenant.
178. 12:33This idea is why the founders defused power in our nation.
179. 12:38And it isn't amazing that in a system where power is diffused, it's at the stage, it's
180. 12:44set the stage to have one of the youngest nations in the world to ascend to global pre-eminence
181. 12:51and dominance.
182. 12:52Not because Americans aren't inherently better than anybody else.
183. 12:55We are all made in the image of God.
184. 12:58All humans are made in the image of God.
185. 12:59It's not because we inherently smarter than anybody else.
186. 13:02I'm proud to be in Americans like everybody else, but let me just tell you plainly.
187. 13:06Americans are not intrinsically and innately smarter than anybody else.
188. 13:10has happened and environment of freedom has been established in our nation and that freedom
189. 13:17is based on a healthy distrust of human nature. Guys, that is the foundation of truth. And
190. 13:29when I say that distrust, it is that in order for an Amazon, for example, to come to
191. 13:37flourish is because people use their Amazon products, use Amazon to buy and sell products.
192. 13:46Now understand this corruption, they're sin in no matter what system that exists. But
193. 13:50The question is which system takes into consideration the reality of human nature and which system
194. 13:56is working against human nature.
195. 14:00Going back to the Donahue-Freeben debate, when Milton Friedman retorted to feel Donahue,
196. 14:05oh, so you think there's no greed in China?
197. 14:08No greed in Russia, no greed in North Korea, certainly no greed in Cuba?

200. 14:18Each system of mankind interacting with each other takes into consideration the realities
201. 14:26of human nature.
202. 14:28There is where you will find freedom in the reason why there is no Silicon Valley in North
203. 14:34Korea.
204. 14:35And that's why to this day the Chinese at best deal what we create in the United States of
205. 14:39America because it is an environment of freedom that allows the reality of the full features
206. 14:44of the Amago Day to flourish.
207. 14:47and the capitalistic system requires you to be a benefit to your neighbor.

266. 18:37and my attorney's body senses immediately went off.
267. 18:43Because what she put on social media was that,

269. 18:49because thanks to Los Angeles' super matching program,
270. 18:53I don't know if we got some Californians

331. 21:51as to how some people got this pass in Los Angeles,

334. 21:56There is a super matching program that allows donors in Los Angeles, they have to be residents
335. 22:06of Los Angeles who are giving money to candidates for office in Los Angeles.
336. 22:12There is a minimum threshold of amount of money needed that the candidate must have in
337. 22:18their election call for us in order to qualify to receive the funds.
338. 22:24And it also includes a requirement that the candidates have received 100 separate donations
339. 22:30of $150 or more, then they can become eligible to receive matching funds.
340. 22:38And so just to make sure I'm unmistakably clear, the donor, John Doe, Sally Jenkins, gives $5
341. 22:48to a candidate in Los Angeles, the city of Los Angeles then will match that $5 with six
342. 22:57times that donation to go to the candidate. Now, this is a part of the Los Angeles Campaign
343. 23:09Financing System that was initially passed in 1990. Okay? Initially it was passed in
344. 23:181990. The City Council then, I'm telling you guys, that's right, Sister Murray, cannot
345. 23:26make this stuff up. The city council then. That's right. Vicki
346. 23:32says, no money for potholes, but we got money for politicians.
347. 23:38Vicki stop confusing me with facts. Oh, man. Where was I? LA
348. 23:53does not
349. 23:54commonly have a budget surplus. Oh, yeah, yeah,
350. 23:57LA does not currently have a budget surplus, but
351. 24:00millions of yes, yes, LA as a city is hundreds of millions in
352. 24:04the whole however they got money for candidates for the office the bobby
353. 24:09let me ask you this question with l a's uh... budget deficit do you think they're
354. 24:14going to refrain from spending money on this matching program for their elected
355. 24:18officials or in reallocate those funds to you know municipal priorities or do
356. 24:23you think they're going to prioritize the election efforts of the
357. 24:28You seven times six to one you say six to one six to one. Yeah.
358. 24:37So what I was back to explaining. So the campaign finance system was passed originally
359. 24:43in the nineties as a result, and this is to Bobby's point earlier, as a result of the citizens voting
360. 24:50for it. The citizens voted to pass the campaign financing system that when it was originally passed,
361. 24:58it was a one to one matching program that the city of los angeles through its collection of
362. 25:05taxpayer money i want to emphasize this they would match donations made to candidates who made the
363. 25:11who qualify for the matching program right now it applies to the mayoral candidates and the
364. 25:19city council in los angeles all right but y'all know what happened i'll ask you all
365. 25:26you all rhetorically. Bob, you included this too. When a government program has
366. 25:31given our money starts, does it usually end up where it started? Just asking for a
367. 25:40friend. In this case, the friend is me. The government program starts and is given
368. 25:45our money. Does it usually stay where it starts? Well, what happened in Los Angeles?
369. 25:52Well, the City Council voted. Now, remember, the matching program applies to
370. 25:56the mayor's office, candidate for mayor, and the candidates for the City Council.
371. 26:00Guess who expanded it from one to one to six to one.
372. 26:05The City Council.
373. 26:11The City Council expanded it to allow the matching funds to go from a one to one match, not the
374. 26:18one to one is problematic if you ask me.
375. 26:20If a private citizen wants to support their candidate for office and donate to their campaigns,
376. 26:24why do the other taxpayers need to be compelled to do so?
377. 26:28The same one is giving me for campaign funding before.

380. 26:34the people that said we need to get dirty money out of politics right?

382. 26:39Well this was the reason in that they used Bobby they got the the Angelenos to vote for

384. 26:48The argument was that we need to to nullify the impact of big moneyed interests and make
385. 26:55sure the little man has just as much impact on politics as the big moneyed interests.
386. 27:00So the way we're going to do so, it's as a system that six to one, it matches.

390. 27:18This clearly is a system that favors incumbents.
391. 27:24Because you think, you think an upstart candidate is going to have the same ability to get a
392. 27:31$115 donations from 100 different people in order to qualify.
393. 27:36It doesn't matter how much money.
394. 27:37They could have one big donor.
395. 27:38But if you don't have 100 different donations of over $115,
396. 27:41then you can't qualify for the matching money.
397. 27:44Guys, this is just insane.
398. 27:45This is additional insanity.
399. 27:47That's why living locally is so important.

402. 27:56who live in Los Angeles who didn't know what I just told you.
403. 27:58And I'm not saying this because I'm like,
404. 28:00yeah, that's ridiculous.
405. 28:01No, I'm saying these are the kind of things
406. 28:03that get buried in hidden and you want to,
407. 28:05how come days in comforts keep having so much money?
408. 28:08Then you also get the revelation from Karen Bass'
409. 28:11infomercial that the primary election,
410. 28:15which Los Angeles had an open primary,
411. 28:17when she had to go against Spencer Pratt,
412. 28:19it drained some of her electoral resources.
413. 28:22She said, so now we gotta start over,
414. 28:23we have to raise more money.
415. 28:25So get your five bucks in so it can be mad six to one.
416. 28:28Guys, that's how this stuff happens.
417. 28:30So when you have, you know,
418. 28:33protracted one-party rule in Los Angeles,
419. 28:37as it has been, you know,
420. 28:42these are the kind of things that happen.

454. 31:14you know, they doing it all.

457. 31:20But now's general election time
458. 31:21and now's a little bit more distance.

580. 39:04community in America, as if somehow Muslims are out here trying to push Sharia law, that
581. 39:09seems to me to be deliberately targeting the Muslim community because they're different.
582. 39:12And I'm just saying that I have no issue with people practicing their faith.
583. 39:16In fact, I would never want somebody to push their faith on me, and I would never want to
584. 39:20push my faith on somebody else.
585. 39:21Because no one wants you to get rid of your religion.
586. 39:24So the idea, I'm just saying, but when people start, when people preemptively go out there
587. 39:30and start preemptively passing laws to ban something that's not happening, what you're
588. 39:35trying to do is target a very small community because they're different.

612. 41:23This is why we need to have these conversations. First of all, to say opposition to Sharia law is
613. 41:30steeped in something so-called white supremacy denies the fact that Islam is not in ethnicity.

618. 41:55We as American citizens have to develop the resolve to say to those who would make the

621. 42:18or in your heart that you don't have any hesitations. You don't sound like Mike Pence when he's asked
622. 42:24about the worker who is confused about their identity and sexuality. You don't have to
623. 42:30hum and hum and hum and hum and say, man, get out of here with that foolishness. This has
624. 42:34nothing to do with any type of ethnic supremacy. This has everything to do with constitutional
625. 42:39Liberty and let's be real.

639. 43:33Al-Sayed assumes, and let me zoom out a little bit more, why would Al-Sayed take an interview

642. 43:42He's attempting to do the exact same thing that he's trying to do by distancing himself now from a son piker
643. 43:50He's attempting to make himself palatable
644. 43:53To moderate to appear as if you know
645. 43:57You know can't we all just get along we can ride the king this thing. They're trying to paint me at this
646. 44:02They're trying to say I'm over here running around, you know, mooju, hai deaning it all to death
647. 44:07I'm just like you folks trying to appeal to moderate voters. That's why he took the interview
648. 44:14So he's going to try to get his big red rubber ball out and play dodge ball as much as possible
649. 44:20around the hot issues and it present himself as this. He's just a normal regular middle of the country
650. 44:25kind of guy, which he's not. All right. He's not. His affiliations tell you that his financial
651. 44:33sources tell you that his past representation tell you that his current representation tell you that.
652. 44:39Although he's not going to stick by many of them on Fox News. Cannon law applies
653. 44:48ecclesiologically only to church polity.

755. 51:50But the first war fought by the United States of America following our War for Independence
756. 51:54Against Great Britain was a war against Islamic supremacists.
