0:00 Darkness is not an affirmative force. 0:02 It simply reoccupies the space vacated by the light. 0:06 This is the Hamilton Corner on American Family Radio. 0:10 It should be uncomfortable for a believer to live as a hypocrite. 0:15 Delivery people out of the bondage of mainstream media. 0:18 And the philosophies of this world. 0:20 God has called you and me to be his ambassador. 0:23 Even in this dark moment. 0:26 Let's not miss our moment. 0:28 And now the Hamilton Corner. 0:33 Good evening, everyone. 0:35 Welcome to the Hamilton Corner. 0:36 My name is Abraham Hamilton. 0:38 The third I am the host of this program joined 0:42 by our produce extraordinaire often imitate it, never duplicated 0:45 the real J. Mac and we are ready to rock and roll 0:48 with today's edition of the program at this very moment. 0:51 Many of you, if not most of you, are making your transition 0:54 from your part time jobs where you generate an income 0:57 to your full time jobs where you cultivate an outcome. 0:59 And as you do so, I want to remind you to make that transition with intentionality, understanding 1:04 the primacy that God places on family and welcoming his view to govern, to guard, and to God your 1:10 engagement in your families and in your homes. 1:14 And I say his view, it really is the truth, is really what it is. 1:19 And I have to tell you, man, it is really sobering to see where we are in our nation at 1:34 this particular stage as Western civilization in general has gone from modernism to post-modernism 1:45 to really to a post-truth culture, 1:49 to where it's frankly a palpable hedonism 1:55 that is combined with that post-truth culture 1:58 that we're in currently, 1:59 and that has us at the juncture that we are in. 2:03 It shows several things, first among them, 2:07 is that the word of God is true. 2:08 The Lord told us in His word that we would be in a place 2:11 just like this, that we would be in a place 2:12 just like this, secondarily, following the fact that the word of God is true, that our 2:18 greatest and most desperate need is salvation in Christ Jesus, that the Lord 2:24 regrets our nation in particular, that's about to say our land, our nation in 2:28 particular with repentance, man. We need it, we need it desperately. And as that 2:33 takes root, we need thirdly a people who are given over to executing our Kings 2:43 commission that we are dedicated to it, that we would be a robust advocates of our King's 2:51 commission, that we convey all of Christ for all of life, the necessity of submitting to the 2:58 Lordship of Christ for the whole of our lives. 3:03 And as a result of loving the Lord with all that we are, we then engage in the second part 3:10 of the greatest commandment or the second component, which is to love our neighbors as ourselves. 3:15 that it is a love of price that compels us to be ministers of reconciliation. 3:22 That is what we need. 3:24 It is an inescapable reality and that is what we need. 3:28 And as you are listening to me at this moment or watching the show at this moment, I want 3:33 to encourage you to resolve in your hearts to engage in this starting right in our own homes. 3:41 who are husbands, the most immediate external outlet for our faithful devotion to our King is 3:48 our wives. To the wives, the same applies to your husbands. And then, if the Lord has blessed us with 3:56 children, that next external outlet for the love of Christ to flow through us is to our children. 4:06 It's to our children. 4:09 The enemy has been effective in persuading people 4:13 to embrace a willingness to sacrifice our children. 4:16 And in some cases, 4:20 if you happen to be anywhere around 4:24 Plymouth, Massachusetts, 4:28 literally sacrificing our children. 4:33 But in other areas, 4:36 another circumstances, 4:38 figuratively, 4:40 you know, we sacrifice our children. 4:42 by that is we deprioritize our substantive spiritual engagement with our children and we 4:49 outsource that to other people. That is not what God's desire is for us. There's a reason why God 4:59 has brought your children into the world through you. God has given parents a particular grace, 5:07 It's anointing and ability to serve our own children well. 5:12 There will never be anyone who can be to your children with God, what God is ordained for 5:19 you and I to be. 5:23 That's just the truth. 5:26 So as you're making your transition, let this be the day where if you already committed, 5:31 man, do not keep weary and well doing, serve the Lord well through the way that you serve 5:36 your families. 5:39 If this is a new concept for you, let this be to be the day where you reverse the course 5:45 to where others lead in the spiritual formation of your children, but that you take that leadership 5:52 responsibility. 5:53 And there's lots of people that talk about Jesus as a servant leader, one of the greatest 5:59 ways for us who are called to be leaders in our families and establish as leaders one of 6:03 the greatest ways that we are, the one of the greatest ways that we serve our families 6:07 is by leading well. 6:09 It's by leading well to the word of God. We go John chapter 8 verse 44 is where we'll begin the conversation for today's program 6:17 John chapter 8 verse 44 Jesus 6:21 During his in our incarnate ministry was ministering in this particular juncture to a Jewish audience 6:27 And he was attempting to convey to them the way of salvation 6:32 And he was talking about bondage to sin 6:37 slavery to sin and how that sin sickness requires 6:41 a remedy and there were some Jews who said we have never been slaves. 6:46 We are sons of Abraham. Abraham is our father. 6:50 I was just like, come on man. But in the course of addressing that 6:55 particular audience, Jesus makes a statement that is as true today as it 7:02 has always been as it's been demonstrably true. 7:07 And it also has been true since the moment that Jesus said it, and the Apostle John documented it. 7:13 It's just as true today as it was then. 7:16 And Jesus says this in John chapter 8 verse 44, he says, 7:22 You are of your Father the devil, and you want to do your Father's desires. 7:32 He the devil was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth 7:43 because there is no truth in him. 7:47 When he, the devil lies, he speaks, 7:52 he speaks out of his own nature, 7:56 for he is a liar, and 8:00 the father of lies. 8:05 Two things Jesus says that Satan is. 8:09 One, he's a murderer from the beginning. 8:18 It is from that vantage point that you can gather the right 8:21 understanding that all murder and murder very simply is the termination of 8:29 innocent human life. Innocent human life. Jesus says Satan was a murderer from the 8:36 beginning. Because of that you can rightly assert that murder flows from 8:47 Satan. The next thing Jesus says is that Satan in addition to being a murderer from 8:54 the beginning. Jesus says, when he speaks lies, he speaks out of his own nature because he is a 9:05 liar and he is the father of lies. Both concepts, a murderer from the beginning and the father of lies, 9:12 were meant to convey similar notions. Just as I mentioned, that murder flows from Satan. Guess what 9:18 else flows from Satan lies. The father of lies and the murderer from the beginning are meant to 9:24 to convey the same notions, that lying and murder are the legal terminology or the fruit 9:31 from the poisonous tree, if you will. 9:34 This is what is produced from Satan. 9:36 Lies and murder come from Satan. 9:41 And whatever context you see lies and murder know that they come from Satan. 9:47 We are living in a time. 9:49 This is why God tasks his children to engage in warfare, 9:57 to cast down, lying logismos, lying ideologies. 10:01 This is why the Lord says to the Apostle Paul, 10:04 to the church of Colossians, 10:05 "'I'm writing so that no one will delude you. 10:08 "'What is a delusion? 10:09 "'A delusion is a deception that combines 10:11 "'with that deception and element of seduction. 10:14 "'But when you understand what Jesus was saying 10:16 "'as the Apostle John recorded in John 844, 10:19 is that this delusion, deception combined with seduction, comes from the Father of Lies. 10:27 Back to Colossians 2, I'm writing so no one would delude you through fine sounding words and 10:34 persuasive argument. The delusion, if not checked, metastasizes into full-blown captivity. Colossians 10:44 2, 8 says, the means of that captivity, human ideologies and philosophies, that have derived from 10:56 from the elemental principles of the world rather than on Christ. 11:00 It's elemental principles of the world that rival Christ. 11:04 That's why the Lord calls his disciples to cast down 11:08 vain imagination, the vain loggies, 11:10 monster weapons of our warfare, not carnal, 11:13 but they're divinely powerful to destroy fortresses, 11:16 to destroy strongholds. 11:18 We have to combat the lies, is what I'm saying. 11:25 The first command God gave to mankind to be fruitful 11:29 and multiply. It was fruitfulness in the multiplication of image bearers that set the 11:37 course for filling the earth and cavaging the earth, subduing the earth, engaging with the 11:47 terra firma for the express purposes of establishing maximized human flourishing. Fruitfulness and 11:55 multiplication was connected to human flourishing. God has said in his word children are a blessing 12:03 from the Lord of the fruit of the womb is a reward. 12:11 God said that, yet our culture has adopted a position, 12:21 as is children are a burden, 12:24 children are an impediment to the good life, 12:27 children are hindrance to the good life, 12:30 children are an obstacle to be overcome 12:32 in order to embrace one's dream, 12:39 to truly involve, to truly experience a fulfillment in life, 12:44 You need to avoid children who at best 12:51 Sogline them you need to you need to pursue your education you need to pursue 13:00 Your dream job you need to pursue your dream business 13:04 Don't let children keep you from your dream and along the way 13:13 we've allowed 13:16 elemental principles of the world and 13:20 find sounding 13:23 human argument that appears at various points as 13:27 as persuasive to get our culture to kind of adopt a sex in the city kind of 13:35 disposition. And it's not until it is too late because there's a biological 13:41 reality for our for our sisters that God has given us childbearing years 13:45 intentionally. And there have been many many a conversation after the fact from 13:55 those who pursued kind of the sex in the city kind of pursuit. Ah, you know, we 13:59 We want to live in the metro area. 14:01 We want to have, you know, the red bottoms. 14:03 We want to have this job and have these things 14:06 only realized, man. 14:10 I chose this instead of family formation. 14:16 And the unfortunate reality is that the foundation 14:18 of building a block for all civil society is the family. 14:20 But before you even get to civil society, 14:23 foundation of building a block for the Lord's Church 14:26 is the family. 14:27 Before you even get to the building blocks 14:29 for the Lord's Church, there is one institution 14:32 that has been tasked with the ability 14:35 to cultivate multi-generational faithfulness to God, 14:38 and that is through the family. 14:40 We have got to confront the lies 14:42 because our young men and our young women are struggling. 14:47 I shouldn't say young, our men and our women are struggling. 14:51 And a part of the reason why we're struggling, 14:52 because at various points, 14:55 we succumb to the father of lies. 15:00 We may never endure the type of prison experiences 15:03 as the saints of old, 15:05 but we all certainly experience types of prison experiences. 15:09 The question is, how do we respond? 15:11 Do we succumb to the flesh and become angry, bitter, and doubt God? 15:16 Or do we choose to praise God despite our circumstance? 15:21 Read the rest of Praise in the Prison by Matthew White on TheStand.net. 15:26 That's Praise in the Prison on TheStand.net. 15:35 Shiting light into the darkness, this is the Hamilton Corner, an American family radio. 15:41 Welcome back to the Hamilton Corner, Abraham, Hamilton III here. 15:45 As we were discussing in the first segment, simply put, our society is reeling from succumbing 15:54 to the father of lies of many points. 15:57 What God says about his image bearers, what God says about children that our culture is 16:04 Rivaling what God says and we see you know horrendous instances 16:11 of moms killing their children 16:17 multiple fronts, not least of which is through the term we use as a euphemism for it, but it's just child murder 16:26 what we call a abortion and 16:29 We shouldn't be shocked that in a society 16:33 that lords 16:35 child murder as a constitutional right 16:40 That when you murder the child in utero 16:43 Or pursuant to Massachusetts is currently adopted law and that reflects New York and some other states that allows 16:50 Basically the child to be slain at any stage in the 40-week gestational process 16:55 We shouldn't be surprised that some will take it to even kill children outside of their mother's womb and 17:05 our art man our 17:07 our young men and our young women, and I would say even men and women in general, 17:11 we are struggling in our society. And a lot of the struggle is because we are 17:15 succumbing to the Father of Lies. Great what I have here on the program with me, 17:19 my wife, and I guess I should say mother of six children. I never get one time, we 17:30 were somewhere, and I don't remember how many children you had a time, but you were 17:34 pregnant and say another one. Yeah, yeah, like it's a horrible thing. Like, wow, and before you might 17:40 stop and think that this exclusively comes from people in the world, it actually happens in the church. 17:44 Too many times from the church. Because as I said in the first segment, 17:50 in spite of the fact that God says children are a blessing from him, there is an aversion and even 17:55 hostility towards children in our society that even affects professing Christ followers. 18:01 that many in the body of Christ view children as a burden, as a hindrance. 18:08 And guys, we have got to get out of this mindset. 18:12 And so Maria, thank you for joining me here on the program again. 18:15 Thank you for having me. 18:18 I shared with you, and this is a chart. 18:22 And at the appropriate point, Jeff, would you throw it up on the screen for 18:25 the people that are watching the show, that NBC did a survey, 18:30 a poll of people, let me get the polling data, 18:33 whenever you read a poll, you should do this, 18:35 I do this whenever I get a poll, 18:37 I always wanna see what is the sample size, right? 18:41 Because if you get a poll, let's say I poll five people, 18:44 and I poll five people who all live in New Orleans, 18:47 and the poll asks the question, do you like crawfish? 18:53 And all respondents, all five say they like crawfish, 18:55 and I say, whoa, new pollers come out, 18:57 100% of respondents enjoy crawfish, right? 19:00 You don't understand what's the sample size where the sample taken you know so you want to make sure you have a representative sample 19:06 This is basic statistics for those you may not know, but this survey they surveyed 30,196 adults 19:15 including 19:17 2009 or just 70 adults ages 18 to 29 years old and this survey was conducted between August 13th and September 1st of 19:26 2025 all right 19:28 This poll was published September 8th of 2025, and there was a portion of the poll specifically 19:35 that pertained to those 18 to 29 year olds. 19:37 And they were asked the question, which of the following is important to your personal 19:44 definition of success? 19:46 So the survey asked, what, which of the following observations or notions or ideas are important 19:56 to your personal definition of success? 19:59 the poll provided 13 different options for the respondents to identify three of the 13 20:09 as important to their personal definitions of success. 20:13 And then the poll ranked them according to how these people voted. 20:18 Right? 20:19 So the categories for the respondents were females who voted for Harris and these are 18 20:24 and 29 year olds, females who voted for she and never be president at the remix. 20:29 who voted for she or she'll never be president the remix. 20:32 Females who voted for president Trump and males who voted for president Trump and the categories 20:38 that they were invited to respond to which of these are important to your personal definition 20:42 of success. 20:43 They included things like achieving financial independence. 20:46 That was one. 20:47 The first one. 20:48 Well, for some for some respondents. 20:50 Yeah. 20:51 Having a job or a career that you find fulfilling owning your own home. 20:55 If you're watching to show, you can see that the, the, the categories on, on the screen, being 21:00 spiritually grounded, having enough money to do, to do the things you want to do, having 21:07 children, having no debt, using your talents and resources to help others, being married, 21:14 having emotional stability, making your family, your community proud, being able to retire 21:18 early, fame and influence. 21:22 These are the categories, these are the different items. 21:25 And so the respondents were invited to choose three of these 13 items that they found important 21:33 to their personal definitions of success. 21:37 One of the things that struck me first of this poll, and I've talked about the poll in general 21:42 before, but I want to drill down a bit, was that, well, monks, males and females who voted 21:49 for a shield should never be president. 21:51 of their primary things that they found to be important to their personal definitions 21:55 of success were pretty similar, you know? 21:59 They should have the same worldview, if you will. 22:01 There it is because it seemed that they shared the same worldview. 22:05 Yeah. 22:06 But when it came to people who voted for President Trump, the things between the males and the 22:10 females were very different, starkly different, which indicated though these males and females 22:18 ages 18 to 29, both vote for President Trump, it seems that their worldviews were completely 22:24 different. 22:25 One of the major distinctions, and just get right to it. 22:28 Again, it's on the screen for those who are watching the show. 22:30 Among the young males who voted for President Trump, guess what was number one? 22:34 Number one, the first thing that they found important to the personal definitions of success 22:39 was having children. 22:41 That was number one. 22:42 For the males. 22:43 Now, if you think about that, there was a time in American history when that would have 22:48 been the first thing that was stated by the females. 22:50 Right. 22:51 No matter who they voted for. 22:52 Yeah. 22:53 The first thing that they would have said or the second or third thing would have 22:57 been having children. 22:59 But amongst the females who voted for President Trump, the females who voted for 23:03 she or she or she or she would have a present to remix and the males who voted for 23:06 she who she would have a present to remix. 23:09 Having children was not even within the top five, not in the top five. 23:14 Then, and I'm going to bring you in on this, and this shows how much we as a society have 23:23 embraced in terms of worldview and ideology, embraced positions that are contrary to what 23:30 the Lord teaches us, that even amongst the males who voted for Trump ages 1829, being married 23:38 ranked number four for them. 23:41 Out of order. 23:44 Now for the females who voted for President Trump, being married didn't come in until 23:49 number nine. 23:50 Yikes. 23:51 It wasn't in the top three. 23:54 Having children and being married were not in the top three for females who voted for 23:58 President Trump. 24:00 Having children and being married wasn't even in the top ten for females who voted for she 24:06 have sent over to be President of the remix. 24:09 Guys we have Dorothy Wayne in Kansas no more. 24:15 I was just gonna say we have an epidemic like this is satanic. 24:19 It truly is. And what I'm what I'm driving toward with this is that when this poll 24:26 first came out in 2025, there were a lot of people that yeah, but amongst female 24:33 Trump voters, both and male and female Harris voters, they view having children 24:42 as being very, very low on their priority list. 24:47 of what is important to their personal definitions of success. 24:52 What do you think this kind of information 24:54 and data points like this, 24:56 what do you think is suggesting to us about our society? 24:59 You know, when I think about our society, 25:01 I think about the pillar and ground of truth 25:03 and how important the church should be in our society, 25:06 but how unimportant it is today 25:08 in the United States of America, 25:09 which is the country we live in, 25:10 that's what we could talk about, 25:12 because we are living in it, right? 25:13 Unimportant, generally or unimportant 25:14 to certain segments of our society. 25:15 Unimportant to society as a whole, 25:18 like unimportant, it is not the pillar and ground of truth. 25:21 Truth is absolute and truth is universal, 25:23 meaning that truth and what dictates what is true 25:26 in our society should come from the truth, 25:28 who's a person, and the church is supposed 25:30 to be advancing the truth. 25:32 The church is weak in the United States. 25:34 And so if the pillar and God of truth 25:36 is not advancing truth, then our society 25:39 does not know up from down. 25:41 How can we expect the unbeliever to know truth? 25:43 How can we expect unbelievers, 25:44 whether voting for, I can't say that, 25:47 when you say for Harris or for Trump, 25:49 to actually desire what is writing good and holy, 25:52 they're not gonna, the church is not advancing truth. 25:55 So when we see this, it is easy for the believer 25:58 to say, is them over there? 26:00 It's those secular people, it's the outside, 26:02 they're the ones that don't wanna be married, 26:04 they wanna have children. 26:05 It has infiltrated the body of Christ, 26:09 and it has weakened it, 26:11 because we have scores of people today, 26:13 and let me just narrow it down to women. 26:15 We have scores of women today, 26:17 who have grown up in a culture, 26:19 and with this idea, and again, 26:21 the culture that has infiltrated the body of Christ, 26:24 with this idea that it is not a worthy time 26:30 or expenditure of your energy and gift and talents 26:33 to pour into a family. 26:36 That is not something worthy. 26:37 It is not something that we strive for. 26:40 What do we strive for? 26:40 They've told us the women who voted for Trump, right, who have a closer worldview, if you will, 26:46 to the scripture, we would assume, right? 26:48 We would hope. 26:50 And that is kind of... 26:51 But, okay, but achieving financial independence is what they have aspired to. 26:58 What they're saying is that this is the purpose of their lives. 27:00 You understand, like when we say that they voted and they ranked it first, the ranking is saying, 27:06 what have I been placed on this earth to accomplish? 27:08 That's really what we're talking about. 27:10 When you pull a group of people and you say, 27:12 hey, what makes you, because what is the question? 27:15 What is important to you to define personal success? 27:18 Like how do you define, that's purpose. 27:21 So for the females, the purpose at best 27:24 is personal financial independence. 27:26 Like how, again, we you read it in John 8. 27:31 He is the father of lies. 27:32 He's been a murderer from the beginning. 27:33 So lies and murder cannot be separated, right? 27:36 Like this is who he is. 27:37 There is no two found in him. 27:39 So when the church, who was supposed to be the playground 27:42 of truth, meaning the leader in what is right and true 27:44 for the society, for the community, 27:46 remember back in the day, what happened in a community 27:48 that arose, you would have a bank, you would have a church. 27:51 And the church would be the grounding place. 27:54 What the first thing you have, people that move 27:55 into a new area, new territory, 27:57 the first thing they wanna establish, 27:59 as they're building their homes, 28:01 one of the first things they would establish 28:02 would be a church. 28:03 Yes, you would have exactly. 28:04 The place to gather the worship, 28:05 probably, for the day, publicly. 28:06 You would have your church, you would have your banking, 28:08 you would have your jail, you would have your police, 28:10 you had law and order, you would have, 28:11 the church is the pillar and ground of truth 28:13 because God said it. 28:15 And so we've allowed these lies 28:17 that the culture has spewed the anti-God, anti-Christ, 28:21 demonic ideology to infiltrate the church 28:23 and then the other church is weak. 28:25 And in the church we're saying, 28:27 oh yeah, I wanna be married, I wanna have kids, right? 28:29 Let's just, you know, let's just extend grace here. 28:32 You know, that we wanna be married, we wanna have kids. 28:34 But we don't wanna devote as a mom, 28:35 we don't wanna devote our lives to our children, 28:37 Like not really, because we really do truly do, 28:40 we want financial independence. 28:43 So even if I have the children, 28:44 even if I have the husband and the children, 28:46 I really just want financial independence. 28:47 So my gift is my talents. 28:49 It's not good enough to just 100% operate within the home 28:55 to raise the generation of believers. 28:57 No, we are gonna- 28:58 To invest in you. 28:59 To invest fully in your children. 29:00 Like, why is that not positive anymore? 29:02 Like, why is it that we are not embracing this idea 29:05 where we raise up young women saying, 29:07 man, it is, it is honorable. It is honorable. This is something that gets under my skin. I'm 29:12 sorry. I'm going to stop yapping so you can take over. But one thing that gets under my 29:15 skin, why is it that we say that we have sacrificed our career for our children? Like that mentality 29:22 already from his onset is unbiblical. Because what we're saying is that what carries value 29:28 is our career and we are sacrificing it for our children. So what carries more value in that 29:35 statement. It is our career. It is our financial independence, right? It is it is 29:39 what the women that voted for Trump say. In this from from this poll. That's right 29:43 Lord. I don't want to Jesus help me. I don't want to you know go beyond the 29:47 polls. And to be clear, just so you're right. But those who are listening who 29:50 haven't been able to watch in addition to listening that we were talking about 29:53 is this NBC News poll. And what my wife is talking about right now is that amongst 29:58 females who voted for Trump when they were asked what are the top three notions that 30:04 contribute to their personal definitions of success. 30:07 The women who voted for President Trump said, 30:08 number one for them was achieving financial independence. 30:12 That's what you're referring to. 30:13 Yeah, and number two, having a job and a career. 30:15 Number three, owning your home. 30:16 All of it is financial independence. 30:18 It is, I can do it. 30:18 Number two was having a job or a career that you find fulfilling. 30:20 And number three was owning your own home. 30:22 Yeah, so why is it, even in the church, we say this. 30:26 We say, for us, stay at home moms. 30:28 We'll say we sacrificed our career 30:31 so that we can raise our family. 30:33 That is unbiblical. 30:35 I'm not saying that we cannot have careers. 30:37 Please hear me because then, you know, they'll go crazy. 30:39 That's not what I'm saying. 30:40 What I'm saying is that we have raised a generation of women who really think 30:45 that the value is in the personal independence, the financial independence, 30:49 owning your own home, the career and all that. 30:51 And when you sacrifice that, then you're being holy. 30:55 Like what? 30:56 So the question then is, well, why? 30:58 and what has happened to our sisters 31:04 who would say that the career is the value. 31:08 Because they've embraced the lies from the devil. 31:10 That's what I'm saying, as a society. 31:12 Again, the church is not advancing the pylongrino truth. 31:15 The society and the secular ideologies 31:17 and the satanic world views are infiltrating 31:19 the body of Christ. 31:21 So what do we tell our young girls, 31:22 go to school, please study hard, get a degree, 31:25 get financial independence, and make your life? 31:27 And then your husband will come 31:28 and you'll have a family and it'll be jolly, right? 31:30 And but then if you really are gonna be holy, 31:33 then you're gonna sacrifice your career for your children. 31:37 That's upside down and backwards. 31:39 So I wanna, and you hear the music is disrespectful, yes. 31:42 I wanna ask you just plainly in giving some time 31:45 doing the break to kind of work this out in your own mind, 31:48 then what needs to be the communication 31:50 in terms of how our values should be ordered? 31:56 And when I say valued, values, I mean, 31:59 what it is that we value, right? 32:01 What should be the basis for determining what we, 32:05 well, what we should value, and for what our sister 32:08 should value, what should be the foundation 32:11 of basis for that? 32:12 You're listening to and watching the Hamilton corner. 32:15 Yeah, we're getting into the thick of it. 32:19 God's word says children are a blessing, 32:22 but do we really believe that? 32:24 Like for real, for real. 32:30 Building a strong biblical worldview 32:32 can help our kids understand Christian values 32:34 that are currently under attack, 32:36 and the best time to start building their worldview is now. 32:39 Activate Kids is an in-depth worldview training course 32:42 to help kids stand on the truth of God's word. 32:45 Each unit includes video lessons, student workbooks, 32:48 parent leader guides, games, crafts, and memory verses. 32:52 Activate Kids is designed for kids six to 12, 32:55 and it's available at activatekids.afa.net. 33:04 Hamilton Quarter Podcast and One-Bitted Common Terrets 33:08 are available at afr.net. 33:10 back to the Hamilton Corner on American Family Radio. 33:15 Welcome back to the Hamilton Corner, 33:16 Abraham Hamilton III, as well as my wife, Maria Hamilton. 33:19 We're having a conversation. 33:22 In light of where things are in our society, 33:23 I made the statement before we went to the break, 33:25 God says children are a blessing. 33:27 The fruit of their womb is a reward, 33:30 yet in our society, it doesn't seem like we believe that. 33:35 And before we went to the break, 33:36 you were making a point concerning the view 33:40 of for our sisters that career and financial independence 33:45 is what is valued as opposed to having a biblical view 33:51 of the value that God says children have. 33:55 So, you know, when we say that, 33:57 when we make the statement that we sacrifice our careers, 33:59 because I did, okay? 34:01 So I did not continue in my career 34:05 so that I can raise my children. 34:06 Like I did that. 34:07 So I understand, I'm not talking to talk from outside. 34:09 I did sacrifice my career for my children. 34:11 When we say that, we are hoping that what is received 34:15 is that we have valued our children over our career. 34:18 That's what we're hoping that, 34:18 because we put something down to pick up something more valuable. 34:21 That is what we should desire. 34:22 That's what we're hoping that we communicate. 34:24 But what my encouragement is that we would genuinely 34:27 examine our hearts, right? 34:29 Because a lot of the times when we say we sacrifice our career 34:31 for our children, what we are truly feeling in the inside 34:36 is that like a real heart introspection, 34:39 is that our career has so much value, 34:42 don't you realize what I have done? 34:44 Look the goal that I have placed on the altar for you. 34:49 That can, in the innards, if you will, 34:53 really have a stronghold in our hearts 34:55 where the culture is dictated to us 34:57 that really I have put what I really valued over there 35:01 because this I know God wants me to do, right? 35:05 So then when we say, what is it that God wants to do? 35:07 Why is it that I'm so passionate about this? 35:10 We go back to scripture, like our opinions, 35:12 you and I literally were raised in this culture 35:14 the same way everybody else was, right? 35:15 Like I was told go to school, get a degree, 35:17 get a career, do it. 35:18 I did it, right? 35:20 But the Lord radically opened our eyes 35:22 because we went back to the plain word of God. 35:26 And what is he saying? 35:27 Psalm 78, which I just read to the kids yesterday 35:29 and discussed it with them. 35:30 Such a powerful psalm of Asaph. 35:34 And it's so interesting because the word of God 35:37 is replete with instruction for their believers. 35:39 Like it literally is the manual for life, right? 35:42 So all of us, fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, 35:44 single men, single women, it all applies, right? 35:47 It applies to children. 35:49 So when we are reading the scriptures 35:50 and we hear things like in Psalm 78, where he says, 35:54 and I'm not gonna read it all because it's long, 35:56 but there's instruction to incline your ears 36:00 to the sayings of old, what we've heard, 36:03 We will not conceal them to their children, 36:05 but tell to the coming generations, 36:07 the praises of the Lord, 36:08 and his strength and his wondrous works that he has done 36:10 for he established testimony in Jacob. 36:12 God is saying to his people, 36:14 because remember we're separated on two, right? 36:16 The body of Christ today. 36:18 Peculiar people. 36:18 Peculiar people, what are we supposed to be doing? 36:21 As the pillar and ground of truth, 36:22 we are supposed to invest real time, real energy, 36:26 will gift things, real talents into raisins 36:28 and next generation, excuse me, forget and started. 36:31 I'm really passionate about this. 36:33 raising the next generation of believers, 36:36 whether they're four or 18, 36:39 the next generation of believers to know God, 36:42 to know Him, to know His wondrous works, 36:45 His miracles, who He is, His character, to know God. 36:50 Why is it not a worthy cause? 36:53 Why is the body of Christ not seeing it as a worthy cause 36:56 to invest yourself, your talents, your giftings, 37:01 your intellect, your knowledge, your love for God 37:05 into these children. 37:08 Why are we seeing them less than? 37:10 Why do we see them as a burden? 37:11 Because the devil does not want us 37:12 to raise a generation of believers. 37:14 He wants the church to be quiet in a little corner. 37:19 If existing at all. 37:20 If existing at all in the community. 37:21 Just within your full wall, four walls. 37:24 And he does not want us to raise a generation of believers 37:26 because he doesn't want a strong church. 37:27 Because a strong church advances 37:29 and he cannot contend with a strong church. 37:31 So why does he convince us women to go outside 37:35 and to look at other things is more valuable 37:37 because of that? 37:38 It's his work. 37:40 Yeah, I remember Marie and I met in the Harris County 37:45 District Attorney's office where we were both working. 37:47 That's how we met. 37:48 And I remember your boss at the time, 37:53 when you notified your boss that you wanted to transition 37:57 to being a homemaker. 38:01 And it was a- 38:02 Five along on fire. 38:03 Cause you were doing very well thriving 38:05 in your role in the district. 38:07 And I loved it. 38:08 Like I loved, I remember walking in those, 38:10 remember we went through the middle detectors. 38:11 I remember walking in that building 38:13 and looking up, it was a marble building, beautiful building, 38:16 people just everywhere. 38:18 And I remember thinking, 38:19 I can do this for the rest of my life. 38:21 I loved what I did. 38:22 I still love it. 38:24 Like I really love the idea of like helping people 38:26 walking through trauma, like as prosecutors, you know, for you, 38:30 you literally had to deal with people. 38:32 I loved the emotional side of it, the helping them, the, 38:35 the helping them understand what has happened and how to navigate this thing. 38:38 They were like, yeah, they have to testify and face the defendant, you know, 38:42 like that's traumatic. 38:43 I loved helping them through that stage of life. 38:45 It's a difficult stage of life. It's, it's, you know, don't ever forget it. 38:48 I loved it. I would do that for the rest of my life until, until the Lord showed 38:53 me, what he has called me to as a wife and a mother. 38:59 And what he called me to was something greater, greater, more value. 39:04 So did I give it up? 39:05 Yes. 39:06 Willingly, when my boss told me, you're going to throw away your career, you're throwing away 39:11 your degree. 39:12 My family members told me, you just wasted the, the, the years in college, that it's not 39:20 true. 39:21 I remember I had a conversation with someone saying something similar, saying, man, your wife, 39:28 she's going to university, she's got her degrees, she's establishing a career, why would she want 39:34 to throw that all the way? And I just simply said, I said, oh, she's not throwing it away. 39:39 She's made the decision to invest her time, her talent, her skills, her ability, her gifts, 39:44 the annoyance in the God has given her she's made her life. 39:47 her skills, her ability, her gifts, 39:50 the annoyance in the God has given us. 39:51 She's made the decision to invest that into our family, 39:55 into our children. 39:56 That is not wasted at all. 39:57 It's worthy, man. 39:59 It is a glorious that she's made the decision 40:04 to make this type of investment. 40:06 And then this was a guy. 40:08 He's like, oh, I never thought about it like that. 40:11 And the question that I'm asking right now, 40:13 in our society, why don't we think about it like that? 40:17 You know, one of the things I've been talking a lot about, 40:19 you know, when we're born again, 40:22 that God draws us into personal lifelong, 40:25 obedient relationship with Jesus Christ, 40:27 in which our character is transformed into Christ's likeness. 40:30 And then our Lord transforms our values 40:33 into kingdom values. 40:35 And I said that kingdom values simply are, 40:37 we now, because we're born again, 40:39 and our eyes have been opened, 40:41 we now value what the king values. 40:44 that us being peculiar people manifest itself 40:47 even in our peculiar valuation of what life consists of. 40:52 And listen, so when we are wives and moms, 40:56 that time period is short, right? 41:00 To give yourself fully to that during those years 41:03 is extremely pivotal so that they can know who God is, right? 41:08 The children. 41:09 And that's what I'm doing. 41:10 Like I'm not trying to just be home and like, you know, clean. 41:13 I don't prefer that. 41:15 I literally want to be home so that I can shape the character we were just talking of 41:19 as I walked in here, things that I need to address with the character of our children right 41:22 now that we're seeing. 41:23 I have to do that for the glory of God, for the glory of God. 41:28 So when I came to the realization that that is not only more valuable than what the culture 41:35 was selling me, but that that is what God desires of me. 41:39 Man, 100% all in, both feet in, let's go. 41:42 There's gonna come a time where the children become adults and the Lord calls me to something else 41:48 And I give myself fully to that because it's all for the glory of God 41:51 But to sacrifice other to I'm sorry to elevate other things 41:56 above this calling of being of raising the generation I'm talking about intentionally raising the generation of believers, okay 42:03 I'm not my just being home and watching the view ain't nobody doing that 42:06 We watching the view period period, but we're not watching none of that and I'm doing it. I'm not sitting on the couch 42:11 I'm literally working like we're doing the work of God. 42:14 There's gonna come a time where other things come into play and my giftings and my talents my abilities that God gave me the experiences 42:21 I've had will be invested into those things, you know glory to God 42:25 It's for the amusement of the kingdom 42:26 But I think we have it wrong because we've allowed the the enemy the father of lies to dictate and then we take it a step further 42:32 And I'm gonna shut up cuz I'm gonna say something 42:35 this culture of death is a 42:38 It's not the end, but it is what comes from this culture of self-aggrandizement. 42:46 It is a self-actualization. 42:49 It is the God of self. 42:51 What makes me happy, what makes me fulfilled, right? 42:53 It's what these people said, the independence and all that, the careers. 42:57 It is what makes me valuable. 42:59 I'm God and when you follow the enemy, because he says, yes, you're God. 43:04 Yes, yes, yes, you're God. 43:05 I'm God what leads all those lies lead to death, which is what we're murdering our babies today. 43:10 We're murdering the babies. The ones that God says invest in, the one that He says, hey, 43:15 what is the same verse seven of Psalm 78? That they should put their confidence in God and not 43:19 forget the works of God, but keep His commandments and not be like their fathers who forgot the Lord. 43:25 So we are not investing in them knowing God and knowing God generationally. 43:30 What we're saying is they're a burden because they're not pleasing me anymore. So now we can 43:34 kill them. We can kill him in utero. We can kill him out of the uterus. We can kill him 43:39 because death is what the enemy wants and that's what we're buying into and the church is weak 43:43 in this area. 43:44 Mm. 43:45 Romans 12 immediately came to mind where the scripture says, 43:48 I appeal to you therefore brethren by the mercies of God to present your bodies as a living 43:53 sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to 43:58 this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind that by testing, you may discern, 44:05 what is the will of God? 44:06 What is good and acceptable and perfect? 44:09 This is God's word to Christians in Rome, admonishing them to refuse to be conformed to 44:16 the world around you, which presents the notion that there are genuine true believers who can 44:22 nevertheless be conformed to a worldly mindset. 44:27 And God says, don't do that. 44:29 Don't allow the world to set your values. 44:31 Don't allow the world to set your priorities 44:34 instead of being conformed to what exists in this world 44:37 and this world's system be transformed 44:41 by the renewing of your mind. 44:42 So you know what's interesting? 44:44 Because we're living in the time where, 44:46 there's a lot of mental health issues 44:48 and the common question is not how are you? 44:49 It's how's your mental health? 44:51 So A-coming question. 44:53 Yeah, A-coming question. 44:54 But even in the church. 44:56 And so I've gone through postpartum depression. 44:59 After baby number two, I went through a time 45:02 where I was irrationally sad 45:05 and nothing that was happening around me, 45:06 that was all positive when I thought about it, 45:09 I made me happy, it was horrible. 45:11 Like I'm like, what is this? 45:12 It was demonic. 45:13 Anyways, I got over that, but- 45:15 How long, how long of duration would you say 45:17 that lasted for you? 45:18 So people are gonna be like, oh, that was nothing, 45:20 but it was one week. 45:21 It was one week of torment. 45:22 And let me tell you why it was one week 45:24 because of God, because of the grace 45:26 God on the glory of God, not because of me. 45:29 It was one week because I realized this is irrational. 45:32 Like literally I have a great husband, 45:33 I have a great home, I have two wonderful children, 45:35 I have a car, like I have all the things 45:36 that they tell you make you happy. 45:37 Why am I sad? 45:38 It was irrational, it was demonic, it was hormonal, 45:40 but the enemy uses our hormones during postpartum 45:43 to really mess with our heads. 45:45 And we can believe him. 45:46 And when we believe him, we wallow in it 45:48 and we allow it to extend. 45:50 What should we do? 45:51 We cry out to God with everything in us. 45:53 We consume the word of God. 45:55 We pray, we ask our sisters to pray, 45:56 we ask our church to pray for us. 45:58 The Lord delivers from demonic attacks. 46:00 And that's what this is, is a demonic attack. 46:03 So when we wallow in it, we believe the lies that say, 46:06 it is these children's fault that I am not happy. 46:09 Because remember, the chief and of mankind 46:11 according to the world is to make yourself happy. 46:13 But the chief and of mankind according to scripture 46:16 is to know Him and glorify Him forever. 46:17 So which one is good? 46:18 No God and glorify God forever. 46:19 Amen, to know God and glorify Him God forever. 46:21 Thank you. 46:22 we literally have two polar opposites competing world views 46:27 competing world views at the end of the day. 46:28 One is true and one is a lie. 46:31 Why was my stint with postpartum depression short? 46:34 Again, by the glory of God, not because of me, 46:36 but I realized I was able to identify the lies 46:39 because the Holy Spirit indwells me. 46:40 I was able to identify the lies and I was able to overcome 46:43 by the power of the Spirit of God delivering me. 46:46 We come back to what is true, what is true. 46:49 And so, but the world is inundated with the lies 46:52 that lead us to murder, lead us to end those things 46:57 in our lives that we don't want, 46:59 because it's not making us happy. 47:01 Guys, the church cannot believe these lies. 47:05 We can't believe these lies. 47:07 You referred to the scripture where the Lord says 47:10 that he establishes his church to be the pillar 47:13 and ground of truth. 47:15 The Lord invests his church in society to serve in that capacity, to be a conveyor and protector 47:28 of what is true. 47:29 Yes. 47:30 Protecting the truth of sound doctrine and conveying the truth of sound doctrine. 47:35 But what happens if the pillar and ground of truth succumbs to lies? 47:39 There's no, I mean literally, that's why they went over one majority of people are doing 47:43 what they're doing. 47:44 why we see the culture looking what it looks like, 47:47 because the church is not being the church. 47:50 Well, thanks be to God that what is 47:52 doesn't have to continue to be. 47:54 And I know that the Lord's scripture gives us this witness, 47:57 the truth of it, and we know this experientially, 48:00 that the Lord always maintains a remnant, 48:03 and always maintains a witness. 48:05 But this is one of the areas that we have to boldly engage. 48:10 God is the one who says that children are a blessing. 48:14 And on my side as a husband and a father, 48:18 I have a responsibility to likewise uphold 48:21 the truth of God's word and to understand, 48:23 oh, this is valuable. 48:26 This is why guys, I say every day 48:29 that you're transitioning from your part-time job 48:31 to your full-time jobs, because value 48:35 is where the king has placed value. 48:39 The views and opinions expressed in this broadcast 48:42 may not necessarily reflect those 48:44 of the American Family Association or American Family Radio.
