  9. 0:27Let's not miss our moment.
  10. 0:29And now, the Hamilton Corner.
  11. 0:34Know this that in the last day's perilous time shall come.
  12. 0:38For men will be lovers of themselves, covetous,
  13. 0:41boasters, proud blasphemers, disobedient to parents,
  14. 0:45unthankful, unholy, without natural affection.
  15. 0:49And it goes on in 2 Timothy chapter 3.
  16. 0:53But I welcome you to this edition of the Hamilton Corner.
  17. 0:55This is Alex McFarland.
  18. 0:57very, very honored to be sitting in for Abe Hamilton the third.
  19. 1:01Very honored that you're listening to the American Family Radio Network this
  20. 1:05afternoon. So glad to be with you. There's a great show that we've got for you folks.
  21. 1:09There's a lot of headlines in the news. We're going to be commenting on them.
  22. 1:14And we're going to have a very special guest, a colleague and friend Carl Kirby.
  23. 1:18Plus we'll take some calls. And I've got the call screening software up. If you want to
  24. 1:23Enter into the conversation, the number is AAA 89840,
  25. 1:30AAA 89840.
  26. 1:33And for those of you listening on radio,
  27. 1:35listening on mobile device or those watching online at afr.net,
  28. 1:40if you recognize my voice, Alex McFarland here.
  29. 1:44I'm on a show called Exploring the Word.
  30. 1:46We are now in our 15th year.
  31. 1:49And I give God the glory for that.
  32. 1:51bird-harper in myself, teaching through the Bible, year after year, and so honored that
  33. 1:57God has raised up the American Family Radio Network for these times.
  34. 2:02As I get into some headlines and we talk about what's going on in the world, let me read about
  35. 2:08this because one of the questions we perennially get on exploring the word is the question, are
  36. 2:14we in the last days?
  37. 2:15Are we near the end of time?
  38. 2:17Well, I don't know.
  39. 2:19I think so.
  40. 2:20I happen to believe that we are very, very likely near the return of Jesus Christ.
  41. 2:26And yes, the Bible is clear that Jesus Christ literally will return to earth one day.
  42. 2:32The evil systems of a fallen world will be vanquished and Christ will rule and reign in
  43. 2:39righteousness, justice, holiness and love forever and ever.
  44. 2:45The Bible says regarding Jesus of his kingdom, there will be no end.
  45. 2:52I'm very glad of that.
  46. 2:54You know, America just celebrated her 248th birthday.
  47. 2:57I love this nation.
  48. 2:58I'm very patriotic.
  49. 2:59But people are asking the question, historians, sociologists, political science theorists, they
  50. 3:06ask the question, is America reaching her expiration date?
  51. 3:12Do you know not necessarily, maybe, but not necessarily, because do you remember those
  52. 3:18words of Benjamin Franklin as they came out of Philadelphia, the Constitutional Convention?
  53. 3:25It is said that a woman walked up to Benjamin Franklin and said, sir, what type of government
  54. 3:31have you given us?
  55. 3:33Do you remember his answer?
  56. 3:35He said, a republic if you can keep it.
  57. 3:38Now do you know people talk about the Roman Empire and very often they compare a decadent,
  58. 3:45hedonistic, lawless America to the last days of the Roman Empire.
  59. 3:52But do you know what Rome originally was a republic?
  60. 3:56Now there was a Roman philosopher and poet named Juvenal and Juvenal very much lamented
  61. 4:03This was a couple of hundred years after the life of Jesus, but juvenile, the Roman writer,
  62. 4:08lamented the decadence, the immorality, the sexual deviancy, the crumbling of the Roman
  63. 4:15Republic, then called an empire.
  64. 4:18And here's what juvenile said.
  65. 4:19I'm going to give you the quote as popularly known.
  66. 4:25Juvenile said, in a crumbling empire, all people care about are bread and circuses.
  67. 4:32the words feed me, entertain me, that's all that matters. But really the translations of
  68. 4:38the quote that most scholars think are the more accurate. Juvenile said, give people bread
  69. 4:46and circuses and they will not revolt. And I worry about our nation right now. I mean,
  70. 4:52it's almost like, hey, if I've got money, if I can buy stuff, just don't rock the boat,
  71. 4:57don't ruffle any feathers, let's get along, to go along.
  72. 5:02And folks, here's the thing.
  73. 5:04When Benjamin Franklin said, we have a republic if we can keep it,
  74. 5:09I think of the James Madison quote, that our Constitution was made for
  75. 5:14a moral and religious people.
  76. 5:16It is wholly and adequate for the governance of any other.
  77. 5:20Now, a free economy, a free representative republic,
  78. 5:26It depends on what in the legal terms is called good faith.
  79. 5:31In other words, that I'm going to be forthright, that I'm going to tell the truth, that I'm
  80. 5:36going to keep my word, that I'm going to own responsibility for my actions, and we're living
  81. 5:41in a country that is fast losing our foundation.
  82. 5:47Now I know as a Christian, it's the gospel, people need Jesus of course.
  83. 5:52But you know what is really even prior to a personal relationship with Jesus,
  84. 5:57important as that is, vital as that is,
  85. 6:00the philosophical foundation of our country is morality.
  86. 6:05Morality. If you go to the return to other capital in Washington, DC,
  87. 6:09you look around the ceiling, the perimeter of the ceiling,
  88. 6:12there in the capital, you'll see references to this all over Washington.
  89. 6:17It's a man holding two tablets.
  90. 6:20It's Moses, the Decalogue, the Law of God as overtly explicitly given in Exodus 21 through
  91. 6:2817, but also the Law of God as written on every heart.
  92. 6:33Well, folks, you and I can make a difference in helping preserve knowledge of these things
  93. 6:38and in doing so preserve our Republic and we can vote.
  94. 6:42Right now I'm going to talk with a beloved colleague and friend, and I'm going to talk
  95. 6:47about what contributed to the loss of our belief in moral truth and a God that reveal
  96. 6:56moral truth. There have been a lot of trends and a lot of cultural wins that have blown
  97. 7:03to undermine our faith in God. And I would submit the number one thing of all is something that
  98. 7:09we'll discuss with Carl Kirby. Carl Kirby, you've heard his name, you've heard his voice
  99. 7:13many times we have Carl Kirby on every chance we get. He is the founder of Reasons for Hope.
  100. 7:20He's a renowned author and apologetic speaker. He's also a colleague with whom I partner throughout
  101. 7:28the year and I'm always glad to hear his wisdom and insights. Carl Kirby, thanks for making time to
  102. 7:34be with us. Welcome to the American Family Radio Network. And I love being with you. You're an
  103. 7:41inspiration to me and I appreciate all that you're doing.
  104. 7:44Well God is good and before we go to much fun.
  105. 7:48Tell people about reasons for your website, the debunk videos.
  106. 7:56Give us a shout out to all of you about Carl.
  107. 7:59Thanks Alex.
  108. 8:00The reason for hope is the name of the ministry.
  109. 8:02The website is R-F-O-R-H.
  110. 8:06Just answer reasons for hope.
  111. 8:07to r4h.com.
  112. 8:10And that's our app as well.
  113. 8:11If you download the app, that has hours.
  114. 8:14And I do mean literally hours of free content on there,
  115. 8:17including the debunk videos that Alex is talking about.
  116. 8:20The debunk videos are animated, fast paced.
  117. 8:23We take on claims that the world likes to throw at us,
  118. 8:26especially the younger generation,
  119. 8:28is Adam or as Alex can tell you,
  120. 8:31at our camps we hand out index cards on day one
  121. 8:34and say, okay, what are the questions
  122. 8:35keeping you from selling out for the Lord Jesus Christ,
  123. 8:38write it down, turn it in, and that's what we deal with.
  124. 8:41Well, a lot of those turn into debunk videos
  125. 8:43because we hear these things and it's a common theme.
  126. 8:47So well, you can't trust the Bible,
  127. 8:48it's full of mistakes and errors.
  128. 8:49Oh, all you Christians have is faith, blind faith.
  129. 8:53Abortion, there's nothing wrong with abortion.
  130. 8:55Critical race theory, it's biblical.
  131. 8:57So I mean, those are the types of topics
  132. 8:59that we take on on debunk, like I said, fast-paced,
  133. 9:02animated because younger generation,
  134. 9:04They just think different and I mean no disrespect to the mature audience out there.
  135. 9:09But this younger generation is shown to have a 2.2 second attention span, which if you
  136. 9:16think you can reach them with today, they're gone and you're going to lose them.
  137. 9:21So we go after them, we don't pull punches, we do not water down the scripture.
  138. 9:25So that's the ministry in a nutshell is we're going after a generation that thinks different,
  139. 9:31bringing biblical authority, biblical truth to them.
  140. 9:34And we have no greater partnership
  141. 9:36than with Alex, especially when we do our equipped retreats.
  142. 9:39It is unbelievable folks.
  143. 9:41I wish you could come and watch what happens
  144. 9:44when you get these young people seeing
  145. 9:46that they can trust God's Word in its entirety,
  146. 9:49not pieces in its entirety.
  147. 9:52It's having an impact.
  148. 9:53And so thank you, Alex, for what you do
  149. 9:55and for allowing us to be a part of what you're doing as well.
  150. 9:58Well, indeed, and we'll talk about that as a summer of 2025 comes around.
  151. 10:03I know we're barely out of summer of 24.
  152. 10:05Yeah, I think you're muted, Alex.
  153. 10:09Okay, let me see here if I can unmute myself.
  154. 10:12Wow, I guess I guess.
  155. 10:13Am I muted?
  156. 10:14There you go.
  157. 10:15Am I back on now?
  158. 10:18I don't know how I'm muted, but...
  159. 10:21You're still muted, Alex.
  160. 10:23Okay, let's see here.
  161. 10:24Let's see here.
  162. 10:25Can you hear me now?
  163. 10:26No.
  164. 10:27No.
  165. 10:28I'm gonna ask you if you're on a laptop to turn me down
  166. 10:32because I would echo my head phone.
  167. 10:35Okay, I'll turn that down.
  168. 10:36Now, okay.
  169. 10:38Summer of four is barely over now.
  170. 10:41But we're already working on summer of 25.
  171. 10:45For 25.
  172. 10:47And give me, I'm gonna have to mute me again.
  173. 10:51But I know I'm going out over the speaker,
  174. 10:54but Carl, let me ask you this.
  175. 10:56If you could name one thing that's been the predominant reason
  176. 11:01that the world has turned against belief in God
  177. 11:05and against belief in moral truth,
  178. 11:07what is the biggest contributor to abandon God
  179. 11:12from moral truth to Christianity?
  180. 11:15Okay, I'm plugging my airpods in,
  181. 11:17does that work any better for you, Alex?
  182. 11:20Yeah, I think so.
  183. 11:22Well, I still hear myself echoing through the environment.
  184. 11:25I'm sorry folks.
  185. 11:26I'm not echoing this.
  186. 11:27Feedback.
  187. 11:28Feedback.
  188. 11:29Feedback.
  189. 11:30It's kind of weird.
  190. 11:32It's kind of weird.
  191. 11:33But what do you say Carl, the biggest philosophy to turn people away from believing God around
  192. 11:41reality and truth has been in the last 60 years evolution.
  193. 11:47I mean the western world has abandoned God because of Darwinian evolution.
  194. 11:52Would you agree?
  195. 11:53I just got out here to California and I just wanted my setup with everything and
  196. 11:59doing this together. So I apologize to you, Alex, for this not being where it should
  197. 12:03be. Evolution is absolutely a key issue. Now, here's the reality of it though. It's not
  198. 12:09necessarily even the evolution component. It's the fact that it's attacking the
  199. 12:14authority of the Word of God. One of the talks that I give is Genesis
  200. 12:19important. And I believe that it's vitally important. And what we need to
  201. 12:23show is that when if you want to get people to not trust the word of God, it's so much
  202. 12:32information supportive. You've got so much archaeological evidence, you've got revelation,
  203. 12:36you've got all these things. But if I can get you to doubt the first chapter, you'll never sell out
  204. 12:42for really the rest of it. So people all the time will say, let's go out and get people to book
  205. 12:46a John. And I'm like, why should I give anybody the book of John if the book of Genesis isn't true?
  206. 12:51Because all that wonderful theology in John is predicated on that history in Genesis.
  207. 12:55So what I've seen is that the more that the church, unfortunately, the more that Christians have been
  208. 13:02willing to say, well, Genesis is good spiritual moral, but it's not real history. The more I think
  209. 13:09you're going to see people fall away from the rest of it. Because if you can't trust the first,
  210. 13:15you will not trust the finish. And Satan has been very smart. We send our children to a school
  211. 13:20system, 80 to 85% of Christian homes go to government schools to be trained by the world.
  212. 13:25And they learn a history of astronomy, biology, geology, anthropology, chemistry that undermines
  213. 13:30the Word of God.
  214. 13:32And then we come along in the church and we try to throw Christian ease on top of a wrong
  215. 13:36history and it will not work.
  216. 13:38If the world is teaching fact, that means we're relegated to teaching fairytale and fable at
  217. 13:43best.
  218. 13:44And so I believe you're absolutely correct.
  219. 13:46One of the greatest tools that's been used to get us to where we are is the teaching of an alternative history other than the fact that you
  220. 13:54Every person listening right now you are created in the image of God
  221. 13:57You are fearfully wonderfully made you were literally knit together in your mother's room
  222. 14:01And if you want value if you want worth
  223. 14:03There is nothing on this planet that can give you more value than worth than the fact that the creator of the whole
  224. 14:09Everything loved you so much that he came and he died on across while you said no
  225. 14:13thank you while you spat on him while you drove the nails, me drove the nails into his wrist
  226. 14:18and his feet and he still came and he died for us.
  227. 14:21That is the ultimate value but if you get rid of that history you will not keep the future.
  228. 14:26Well when we come back we're going to talk about the creation message as a response as
  229. 14:31an antidote to the religion of radical environmentalism.
  230. 14:36I can't hear you now.
  231. 14:37I'm sorry.
  232. 14:38We're going to come back and we're going to talk about creation as an antidote to environmentalism.
  233. 14:43So stay tuned, Alex McFarland here with Carl Kirby.
  234. 14:47You're listening to the American Family Radio Network.
  235. 14:49We've got a break.
  236. 14:50Plus we'll take your calls and questions
  237. 14:53after this brief intermission.
  238. 14:55Don't go away.
  239. 14:56We're back in a moment.
  240. 15:08A discipleship minute with Joseph Parker.
  241. 15:11Sheep desperately need a shepherd.
  242. 15:14And we are like sheep.
  243. 15:17The Lord is my shepherd.
  244. 15:18I shall not want.
  245. 15:20Psalm 23 is not just a nice poem.
  246. 15:23It actually is one of the most favorite passages in all of God's Word.
  247. 15:28But the fact is, it's not just a nice poem, a nice psalm to be drawn from.
  248. 15:33It's a weapon, an important tool for us to read and meditate on every day to confess
  249. 15:39and stand on.
  250. 15:40Father, thank you for the gift.
  251. 15:42Psalm 23 is.
  252. 15:43Thank you for the opportunity for us to speak Psalm 23 and to know that we can trust your
  253. 15:49Word.
  254. 15:50You have guidance.
  255. 15:51You have counsel.
  256. 15:52encouragement, strength, wisdom, and power, so much more for us as we simply read and meditate on your
  257. 15:58word and listen to the voice of you, our great shepherd. Thank you for the opportunity to do just
  258. 16:03that. In Jesus' name we do pray. Amen. Shiting light into the darkness. This is the Hamilton
  259. 16:16Corner on American Family Radio. Welcome back to the program. Alex McFarland, we're talking with
  260. 16:25Carl Kirby. Hey, by the way, let me refer you if I may to my own website, which is AlexMcFarland.com.
  261. 16:31a couple of things coming up.
  262. 16:33I'm at a big event in North Carolina this weekend called Pray NC.
  263. 16:39Pray North Carolina, hundreds of people from across the mid-Atlantic region are coming together.
  264. 16:44There's a very historic theater called the Carolina Theater.
  265. 16:47It's really cool. I've actually rented this venue before.
  266. 16:50I mean, years ago, like the Three Stooges performed there, Charlie Chaplin performed there.
  267. 16:55It's a historic movie palace, 100 years old.
  268. 17:00But we're going to have a big worship event there.
  269. 17:02And if you go to my website, which is alexmucfarland.com,
  270. 17:06you can see my tour schedule.
  271. 17:07And I would love for you to come out.
  272. 17:09We're just going to get together.
  273. 17:11All denominations, all ethnicities.
  274. 17:14We're going to pray for America.
  275. 17:15We're going to pray for this election.
  276. 17:17We're going to pray for revival in our nation.
  277. 17:20And also, I've got with me right now, Carl Kirby.
  278. 17:23And before I pick his brain and dive into some topics,
  279. 17:27Carl, what is the website for you, your staff, reasons for hope?
  280. 17:34Yes, thanks Alex again.
  281. 17:35But before we go any further brother, I am totally jealous.
  282. 17:38You're gonna be where the three stujas have performed.
  283. 17:41Exactly. I'm jealous man.
  284. 17:43Exactly.
  285. 17:44R-F-R-F-O-R-H is the website.
  286. 17:49And dude, I'm excited that you're gonna get to do that.
  287. 17:53And what does our country need more right now?
  288. 17:55prayer. So praise God you're doing that. Yeah. And you know Carl, I want to say this and listen up folks.
  289. 18:01Look, Carl and I both, we love apologetics. I mean, we're into the data. Abhamilton, the third,
  290. 18:09believe me, we're into biblical worldview. But I will tell you, it's not complicated. If you want
  291. 18:15to move of God's Holy Spirit, one of the keys, and Carl, I've seen this many times. I saw it in
  292. 18:20Richmond this past weekend.
  293. 18:22When Christians come together, God will show up.
  294. 18:26In John 1721, the Lord Jesus, when He was on His way to the cross,
  295. 18:32He prayed for the church.
  296. 18:33And that's us, if you're a believer, we're all part of the church.
  297. 18:37Jesus said, Father, John 1721,
  298. 18:40Father, that they all may be one, that the world may believe,
  299. 18:45Thou has sent me.
  300. 18:46And, Carl, I've seen, I know we had a big multi-church thing in Richmond,
  301. 18:50this past weekend. There were people from northern Virginia, Washington, Kentucky, all
  302. 18:56around the mid-Atlantic region. People came and they said, we're praying for America. They
  303. 19:01love the AFR. They love all that we're doing. And we had several hundred come forward to
  304. 19:06accept Christ. Carl, you would have loved this in Richmond Sunday. First, I gave the
  305. 19:13I asked teenagers.
  306. 19:15I said, teenagers, would you come and pray for your school, pray for your friends to become
  307. 19:22a believer, pray for your school to be a drug-free zone, pray for your school to be a violence-free
  308. 19:29zone.
  309. 19:30And I'm telling you, by the dozens, these kids, they look like middle schoolers through high
  310. 19:35schoolers, they flooded the altar to pray.
  311. 19:39My wife was down front leading kids to Christ, but when Christians unite, God will show up.
  312. 19:47And like you said before the break, when you give the gospel in a compelling manner, young
  313. 19:52people respond, don't they?
  314. 19:54Amen.
  315. 19:55Amen.
  316. 19:56Well, we both saw that this summer when we did our equipry treat out in Montana.
  317. 20:01We had 80-some odd folks there, and you want to talk about a crazy story, folks.
  318. 20:06And look, we don't do altar calls when we do the equip rallies.
  319. 20:09We don't really push that type of a thing.
  320. 20:11We don't sneak a hand up, that type of a thing.
  321. 20:15We preached a gospel and say, if the Holy Spirit's dealing
  322. 20:17with you, then you want to deal with it.
  323. 20:19And out of 80 plus young people that we had there,
  324. 20:22there were 15 that really didn't want to be there.
  325. 20:24And eight of those 15, and I'm talking hardcore.
  326. 20:27One was like, hey, if I set my cabin on fire,
  327. 20:29can I go home, right?
  328. 20:32Another one, costing her council for three days.
  329. 20:35And on Wednesday night, eight of those 15 knuckleheads got saved.
  330. 20:39And at the end of it, we had 32 that made professions of faith.
  331. 20:43And these were, I'm telling you, these were some tough nuts to crack.
  332. 20:48And the Holy Spirit knows how to do it.
  333. 20:51And he's doing it.
  334. 20:52And it's going to come through the prayers of God's people and his people being
  335. 20:56obedient to his word and preaching his word.
  336. 21:00Amen.
  337. 21:01Yeah.
  338. 21:01About a month ago, we were in Hewitt, New Jersey.
  339. 21:06And that was the, if I recall,
  340. 21:08that was the last equip camp of the summer.
  341. 21:11Beautiful, up near the Hudson River Valley.
  342. 21:15And, but we sponsored a young man.
  343. 21:18We got a call from a mom down in Louisiana.
  344. 21:22And she said, you know, we don't have any money,
  345. 21:24but my son, I really want him at the equip camp.
  346. 21:28And so we sponsored his plane ticket, everything, the camp.
  347. 21:34And the first day or two,
  348. 21:35I don't know if you remember this young man,
  349. 21:38he was a little bit non-committal.
  350. 21:41I mean, he was not exactly thrilled to be here.
  351. 21:44But by the end of the week, he accepted Christ.
  352. 21:48Carl, last week we just got an email from him.
  353. 21:52And he said, I'm so glad,
  354. 21:54I hope I go back next summer.
  355. 21:56I'm a believer, I'm reading my Bible every day,
  356. 21:59but listen to what he said, you'll love this, Carl.
  357. 22:01This young man who came to our equip camp,
  358. 22:04he said, my best friend in school is an atheist,
  359. 22:08but he won't be much longer.
  360. 22:09I'm gonna bring him to Christ.
  361. 22:12Amen.
  362. 22:13You know, you may not know this one, Alex.
  363. 22:15One of the young ladies who was there was from Columbia.
  364. 22:18She flew all the way up here from Columbia,
  365. 22:20specifically for the equip rally.
  366. 22:22You mean that, South Virginia?
  367. 22:23of, yeah, yeah, the country of Columbia. And she came up, she goes to a very large church,
  368. 22:30and her father was a pastor there, passed away a short time ago, really bad cancer.
  369. 22:36But she is so on fire and wants to reach her peers, she came up to get the training so that
  370. 22:41she can take what we did back to Columbia. So it's happening. People are, people's lives
  371. 22:47are being an impact. So thank you.
  372. 22:49Amen. Well, Carl, let me ask you this.
  373. 22:52I've been to a couple of hundred colleges to speak or debate and very often youth and
  374. 22:59professors they'll say you know the planet is fragile.
  375. 23:03It is such a miracle, an unlikely thing that 13.8 billion years ago life evolved and it's
  376. 23:12fragile.
  377. 23:13So we've got to save the planet and environmentalism has become like a cult religion.
  378. 23:22And Carl, you correct me if I'm wrong because you're the expert.
  379. 23:25But I really think this green worldview is an outflow of assumptions about Darwinian evolution.
  380. 23:34Now, there's a lot of things like lithium batteries that we're going to talk about.
  381. 23:38But speak to me about evolution, breeding this religion of environmentalism, and what the creation
  382. 23:47message might do to mitigate against that.
  383. 23:50It's interesting.
  384. 23:52Now remember BC before Christ, right?
  385. 23:55I remember listening to this song and the lyric was essentially, you're going to worship
  386. 24:00somebody.
  387. 24:02It may be the devil or it may be the lawyer, but you're going to worship somebody.
  388. 24:05And everybody worships somebody.
  389. 24:08And if you're not worshiping the creator of the universe, you are worshiping the creation
  390. 24:13or a made up creator.
  391. 24:16And so how do we get to the stage where you get people to not really trust in the creator?
  392. 24:22Again, like I mentioned earlier, you've got to change that history.
  393. 24:26There was a science fiction movie that I saw once and this young lady was writing in her
  394. 24:31diary.
  395. 24:32She was trying to save her brother from these people that were trying to doctorate him and
  396. 24:36sort of a thing. And as she's writing in her diary, she wrote, how do you rid earth of humans?
  397. 24:42And her response was, first, you rid the humans of their humanity. And guys, if you think about that,
  398. 24:48that is exactly what the theory of evolution does. It rids us of our humanity, because we become
  399. 24:54nothing more than the product of naturalistic processes given enough time, right circumstances,
  400. 25:00something came from nothing, which you try and figure that one out. I do one whole talk on that.
  401. 25:05God getting something from nothing.
  402. 25:07You think our position is bad believing in a God
  403. 25:09that created the way that he said that he did.
  404. 25:11Try and figure out how you get something from nothing.
  405. 25:13And by the way, spoiler alert,
  406. 25:14the only way you get something from nothing
  407. 25:16is to redefine the term nothing.
  408. 25:18That's it.
  409. 25:19But if that process is how we got here,
  410. 25:24then ultimately where's God in that?
  411. 25:28Well, we're God because we're the pinnacle of evolution.
  412. 25:30We're the most highly evolved.
  413. 25:32And so what you see is that you either worship the Creator,
  414. 25:35you worship the creation or a very poor version of it.
  415. 25:38And that mechanism of evolution is the thing that gives
  416. 25:42supposed credibility to that history,
  417. 25:44even have an possibility of occurring.
  418. 25:47But when you look at it deeply and you study it,
  419. 25:50it is not possible.
  420. 25:52It is not possible to get something from nothing.
  421. 25:54By the way, I use one clip in that talk, Alex,
  422. 25:56that blows people's minds.
  423. 25:57It's from Michelle Fowler, PhD astronomer
  424. 25:59from How the Universe Works, a secular program.
  425. 26:02And she says point blank.
  426. 26:04Now when she sits on the mountains,
  427. 26:05you're sitting next to the rocks,
  428. 26:07she feels a piece with them
  429. 26:09because the rocks are our cousins too.
  430. 26:11That is the outcome of a very wrong worship.
  431. 26:15We are worshiping the wrong thing,
  432. 26:17and only God will give us the right answer.
  433. 26:19Well, the rocks are our cousins.
  434. 26:23The rocks are our cousins too.
  435. 26:25I will play that clip for folk anytime man,
  436. 26:27because I use it with this younger generation,
  437. 26:29because what I want them to see
  438. 26:30is if you think Christianity has problems,
  439. 26:33If you think Christianity has a real,
  440. 26:36has to have some real hoops to jump through to make it work,
  441. 26:39then you explain how you get life from non-life.
  442. 26:42You explain how rocks are our cousins.
  443. 26:44It makes no sense.
  444. 26:46Matter of fact, they use it clip in Boston.
  445. 26:48It was so funny.
  446. 26:49I knew I was gonna use it.
  447. 26:50So I went out and I found a big old rock
  448. 26:51and I put it up on the stage.
  449. 26:52And when I got done, I said, oh, by the way,
  450. 26:53I meant to introduce you.
  451. 26:54This is cousin Sal over here.
  452. 26:55He's a strong, silent type.
  453. 26:57Yeah, Marie Tisamly.
  454. 27:00The rest of the week, Alex.
  455. 27:01People were bringing in rocks
  456. 27:03to putting them on the stage, one young lady started thinking smaller rocks and
  457. 27:06painting faces on them and had a ribbon tied to them with a little card that had
  458. 27:09their backstory on it. It was awesome. But that's exactly what evolution teaches.
  459. 27:13Yeah, exactly. Well, in recent years, I mean, there's been such a push for EVs and
  460. 27:21save the planet. And I know that so much around, you know, whether it's wind turbines
  461. 27:27or solar panels or lithium ion batteries.
  462. 27:32We hear the talk of green energy.
  463. 27:34Now, as we do this show,
  464. 27:36I know everybody's probably heard the story in the news that,
  465. 27:39and this is sad.
  466. 27:40I mean, my heart really goes out to,
  467. 27:43there are Islamic terrorists in the Middle East.
  468. 27:46They don't carry cell phones, at least as of the recent week,
  469. 27:50last week or so, because the Israel intelligence
  470. 27:54could track terrorists with self-ins, right?
  471. 27:58Pinging from tower to tower.
  472. 28:00So they said, oh, here's the way we'll get under the radar.
  473. 28:02Everybody quick, get a pager.
  474. 28:04Now, folks, like myself this morning I was up at 8 a.m.
  475. 28:09working on News Prep, and I'm thinking,
  476. 28:12pagers still exist, you know?
  477. 28:14But the sad thing today, as of right now,
  478. 28:18they say 4,000 Hamas terrorist operatives
  479. 28:23operatives were severely injured because the pagers which have a lithium ion battery inside
  480. 28:30and they were trying to communicate and get around without being identified by Israeli Intel,
  481. 28:39but the pagers exploded. And that's sad. It really is. But here's the thing about it.
  482. 28:47In California about a month ago, there was an EV that caught on fire. Now, the lithium batteries
  483. 28:53Now keep in mind the green energy environmental coal, they're going to save the planet by
  484. 29:02ending internal combustion petroleum based engines for electric EVs.
  485. 29:07But when a lithium ion battery catches fire, it burns at 1100 degrees and puts out toxic
  486. 29:16fumes.
  487. 29:17Now, Carl, and by the way, I was on a plane, this is about four or five years ago, I was
  488. 29:24on a plane, because that seems like I fly all the time, where a guy's tablet exploded.
  489. 29:31It was very scary, and the flight attendants were telling everybody to stay in their seat.
  490. 29:38So I guess here's the thing.
  491. 29:41The assumption that coal and petroleum, gas and diesel is bad must outlaw it to save the
  492. 29:49planet.
  493. 29:50So what are we going to do in its place?
  494. 29:51We're going to do something much more toxic, much more carcinogenic, much more volatile and
  495. 29:57dangerous.
  496. 29:59So I guess, Carl, is this an example of evolutionary assumptions ultimately harming not helping
  497. 30:07people?
  498. 30:09I don't know if it's evolutionary assumptions, but I would say that it's man thinking that
  499. 30:13they're so much smarter than they really are. Think of it like this. When I have now the light bulbs
  500. 30:19that we get today, the little spiral type things used to take a light bulb out, boom,
  501. 30:23you broke it, no big deal. Now they've got warnings on there that you need like a hazmat suit to clean
  502. 30:27this thing up because of whatever is on the inside of this thing. That doesn't make any sense. I mean,
  503. 30:32and we're so much better. I just flew into California, Alex. And when you're going, it's like,
  504. 30:37You see this sea of these electric, you know, absorbing the sun to create electricity.
  505. 30:47And it's massive. You talk about destroying the environment. And so I don't know
  506. 30:55evolution to be the direct cause of that, but it may be the foundation of it, because again,
  507. 31:00we start thinking more about who we are, more of ourselves. Like we are the pinnacle of
  508. 31:06intelligence. And so we start making decisions, a simple decision that, you know, some people
  509. 31:10may not relate, but I led people down the Grand Canyon for years and it used to be some of
  510. 31:14the greatest trout fishing going. Well, one of the last trips I took there out there was
  511. 31:18shocking all the trout and killing the trout. I'm like, what's going on? Well, this isn't
  512. 31:23a native fish. And so the humpback chub, which is a native fish can't survive because of
  513. 31:28the trout. But here's the problem, Alex. That river, that Colorado River today is not the
  514. 31:33the Colorado River that it was before the dam.
  515. 31:35It's water coming out from the bottom of the dam,
  516. 31:37which is extremely cold, which trout survive in,
  517. 31:40which humpback chub, don't survive in.
  518. 31:43So we're gonna kill off the trout,
  519. 31:44which is surviving and doing beautiful,
  520. 31:47so that this fish that can't survive in that water,
  521. 31:50so we get so smart we're done.
  522. 31:52I mean, that's the only way that I can think of it.
  523. 31:54We just get so smart we're done.
  524. 31:56Yeah, well said.
  525. 31:57How to give the number if you wanna call in,
  526. 31:59join in the conversation,
  527. 32:00The number is triple eight, five, eight, nine, 88, 40.
  528. 32:04That's eight, eight, eight, five, eight, nine, 88, 40.
  529. 32:08Alex McFarland here, our very special guest, Carl Kirby,
  530. 32:11Apologist, Creation Expert.
  531. 32:14If you'd like to weigh in, whether it be the lithium batteries
  532. 32:17or creation, the cult of environmentalism,
  533. 32:21in these topics and more, we'd love to have you be with us.
  534. 32:24And we've got a brief break.
  535. 32:25Stay tuned, but have hope, the gospel message,
  536. 32:29and the Biblical worldview still changes lives,
  537. 32:32and it can not only do that,
  538. 32:33it can change our culture as well.
  539. 32:36Let's speak with the unified voice
  540. 32:38to help you do that more after this.
  541. 33:00The American Family Association's mission is to inform,
  542. 33:03equip, and activate individuals
  543. 33:05to strengthen the moral foundations of our culture.
  544. 33:09Our goal is to be a leading organization
  545. 33:11in Biblical worldview training for cultural transformation.
  546. 33:15We stand on the Biblical truth
  547. 33:17that all human beings, including the unborn,
  548. 33:20are created in the image of God
  549. 33:22and are endowed by Him with the right to life,
  550. 33:25liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
  551. 33:27Thank you for standing with the American Family Association.
  552. 33:37The Hamilton Quarter Podcast
  553. 33:38and One-Bitted Common Terrors are available at eFR.net
  554. 33:43back to the Hamilton Quarter on American Family Radio.
  555. 33:49Welcome back to the program.
  556. 33:50We're gonna get to the phone calls really quickly
  557. 33:52that number, by the way, is Triple 8, 5, 8, 9, 8, 8, 40.
  558. 33:57You know, I began from 2 Timothy 3, talking about perilous times, we'll comment, it's
  559. 34:03talking about the immorality of the age and violence and blasphemy and just the battle
  560. 34:11of worldviews.
  561. 34:12If there were a life verse for the age in which we live, 2 Timothy 3, 7, and this describes
  562. 34:20so many people ever learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
  563. 34:27I want to say this, if you're listening to the program and we're talking about God and
  564. 34:31creation, folks, the truth, I mean what's really real?
  565. 34:36It boils down to this, that Jesus died for you.
  566. 34:40He proved who He is by rising from the dead.
  567. 34:43Nobody else has ever done that.
  568. 34:45Only Jesus Christ literally rose from the dead.
  569. 34:49And if you're trying to process all this, and you're saying, you know, what does it mean?
  570. 34:54Does God really care about me?
  571. 34:58There are many places I could direct you, but on my own website, which is AlexMcFarlane.com.
  572. 35:03AlexMcFarlane.com.
  573. 35:05There's a little tab that says, what does God say about my relationship with Him?
  574. 35:10I want to challenge you to read that.
  575. 35:12And I want you, just in your heart, to say, God, if you're real, show me.
  576. 35:18I often say this, and folks, I have given my adult life
  577. 35:22to studying this, been to 72 sites in the Holy Land.
  578. 35:26Folks, I'm telling you, the Bible is true.
  579. 35:30Jesus Christ is real, and Jesus is as close by as a prayer.
  580. 35:34And if you need to come to the Lord,
  581. 35:37or maybe come back to the Lord,
  582. 35:40Jesus does love you, Jesus is as close by as a prayer.
  583. 35:44So don't let this day go by without settling
  584. 35:46where you stand with God. And I know Carl Kirby would concur with those
  585. 35:51sentiments as well. We're going to go to Oklahoma. Mark from Oklahoma, thanks for
  586. 35:56holding your our first caller on this program, the Hamilton Corner with our
  587. 36:02very special guest, Carl Kirby. Welcome, Mark. Thank you for having me. I got two
  588. 36:08comments, two quick comments. You're talking about people being so smart, they're dumb.
  589. 36:13I got a comment. It's called dumb-phoneded. You've heard of dumb-founded, right? This is dumb-phoneded
  590. 36:21This is the age of dumb-phoneded. My next comment is very very important for people to understand this
  591. 36:28the news media was covering the
  592. 36:31Second assassination attempt on Donald Trump, but they never mentioned banning assault rifles at all ever in that comment on that coverage
  593. 36:40But they'd be on the school shootings ban assault rifles ban assault rifles
  594. 36:45Well an AK-47 is an assault rifle that that man tried to shoot Donald Trump or was attempting to proceed to shoot Donald Trump
  595. 36:53Why don't they ban talk about banning assault rifles when it comes to Donald Trump? I don't understand that but anyway
  596. 37:01Thank you so much. The people of America need to understand this this news media is
  597. 37:05is manipulating people and doing just as much harm as the evolution part of it.
  598. 37:11This news media is absolutely garbage, but thank you so much for having me.
  599. 37:16Yeah, I point well taken, Mark.
  600. 37:17Let me just say this.
  601. 37:18I truly believe, look, for all of 2016 through 2020, Hillary Clinton kept calling Donald Trump
  602. 37:25quote, an illegitimate president, Nancy Pelosi calls him invalid.
  603. 37:31like Obama, Chuck Schumer, Bill Marge, Joey Behar. They've used this phrase, it's a weird
  604. 37:38phrase, and I would submit that 99% of the population doesn't understand it. They'll say,
  605. 37:44Donald Trump is an existential threat to democracy. I want to tell you folks, now two attempts
  606. 37:51on his life, what it amounts to is reckless endangerment by rhetoric, really. And so they've
  607. 38:01been very dismissive of President Trump and that's unfortunate and you know think
  608. 38:05about this he doesn't need this he's he's a billionaire I truly believe that the
  609. 38:11man has put his life on the line for this country we're gonna go to Scott in
  610. 38:15Michigan Scott thanks for holding welcome to the American family radio
  611. 38:18network. How are you doing? Blessed how are you? Great you know I heard you tell a
  612. 38:28story where you're overseas I think I was somewhere in Europe maybe I was a
  613. 38:33billy grant crusade and
  614. 38:36it was the most humbling
  615. 38:38christian story i've ever heard
  616. 38:41whereas you were in uh... we're gonna go to a hotel
  617. 38:45and some of you ended up in this dirt barracks
  618. 38:50and
  619. 38:52you saw i know the story and you uh...
  620. 38:56got a piece of bread and cheese and he was so thankful for that and you were
  621. 39:00humbled by that
  622. 39:02uh... would you like me to share that story briefly
  623. 39:07yeah i know i know it might have been a
  624. 39:10like the one that i heard but if it's your briefly i i i think that would really
  625. 39:15touch a lot of hearts and
  626. 39:17i was also
  627. 39:19uh... curious about what kind of cars you restored
  628. 39:22hotwell
  629. 39:23hey you know what what's really well check this out and
  630. 39:26carl but by the way thanks got
  631. 39:28carl did you go in the summer of two thousand
  632. 39:32the billy grand ministry
  633. 39:33for Christian speakers like yourself, they had a conference called Amsterdam 2000.
  634. 39:40Did you go to that one?
  635. 39:41I wasn't invited to that one.
  636. 39:44No, I didn't.
  637. 39:45Well, Scott, check this out.
  638. 39:46When I was a brand new Christian, I was in my parents' barn on a chicken farm in North
  639. 39:50Carolina.
  640. 39:51I was restoring a 66 Mustang.
  641. 39:54I'd been working on it.
  642. 39:55I'd been a believer about a year, never dreamed I'd be in the ministry.
  643. 39:58And listen to this.
  644. 39:59I'm on my back about nine o'clock at night listening to James Dobson and I was changing
  645. 40:06out a rear end in 66 Mustang.
  646. 40:10And I'm dirty.
  647. 40:11I'm on my back and I'm listening to James Dobson and I'll never forget James Dobson said,
  648. 40:18if we don't have a moral and spiritual revival, gay marriage will become law, transgenderism
  649. 40:24will be taught in the public school.
  650. 40:27And 25 years later when I was working for James Dobbs, and I said, do you remember saying that?
  651. 40:33He said, oh yeah, it was about 1988.
  652. 40:36And he said, I caught a lot of flack.
  653. 40:38And so, to your point, Elizabeth and I grew up turning wrenches on Ford, eight in tractors,
  654. 40:47Chevy pickup trucks, and then I saved all my pennies and bought a Mustang.
  655. 40:51But I got to tell you this story about going to Amsterdam 2000.
  656. 40:54I listened to this, folks.
  657. 40:55So I'm a pampered American.
  658. 40:57I go to Amsterdam and for two and a half weeks we're going to be staying in a heavy equipment
  659. 41:03warehouse.
  660. 41:04And there are 10,000 evangelists from third world countries.
  661. 41:10It's a noisy, stinky place, dirt floors, and there were aisles and aisles of steel cots.
  662. 41:18Now on every cot was a loaf of brown bread and a hunk of cheese and a few bottles of water.
  663. 41:25And I thought, this is a stinky warehouse.
  664. 41:29There's only 400 showers for 10,000 men.
  665. 41:33And a Texan, a guy from Texas, he walks up to me, he goes,
  666. 41:38hey look, let's take the train to Amsterdam.
  667. 41:40Let's go in half, let's get a hotel.
  668. 41:42I'm not gonna stay in this warehouse for two weeks,
  669. 41:45going out the street evangelizing.
  670. 41:48I gotta get a bath.
  671. 41:49I said, yeah, let's go in.
  672. 41:51And then all of a sudden, I saw this group of men
  673. 41:53from India and they looked on the cot was a loaf of bread and a block of cheese.
  674. 42:02And I watched a man fall down weeping and he was saying, Oh, thank you, God.
  675. 42:07Thank you.
  676. 42:08Oh, my goodness, Lord, thank you.
  677. 42:11And I was watching a guy weep tears of gratitude over a loaf of bread and a block of cheese.
  678. 42:19And this man quietly whispered in my ear, one of the Billy Graham staffers.
  679. 42:23He said, Alex, you do know for these 10,000 evangelists from North and South Korea, India,
  680. 42:29South America, the Asian world.
  681. 42:32He said, staying in this dirt floor warehouse for two weeks are the finest accommodations
  682. 42:39these guys will ever have in their entire life.
  683. 42:43And I got all my nieces.
  684. 42:44I said, Lord forgive me.
  685. 42:46I'm spoiled.
  686. 42:47You know, I think I'm roughing it.
  687. 42:53I'm not even worthy to sleep next to these guys that give their life for the gospel.
  688. 43:00So Scott, listen, I don't mean to talk about myself and Carl, I apologize for taking time
  689. 43:05away, but folks, here's what I'm trying to say.
  690. 43:08We're so blessed.
  691. 43:10Folks were blessed.
  692. 43:11There's an old little appointment says one life to live to will soon be passed.
  693. 43:16Only what's done for Christ will last.
  694. 43:19If we have to suffer the gospel, let's do.
  695. 43:22Let's suffer.
  696. 43:23But let's give our life for the one who gave his life for us.
  697. 43:28Mark in North Carolina, you're on with my guest Carl Kirby.
  698. 43:32Oh, thanks.
  699. 43:33And I only have a short time.
  700. 43:35I'll give a couple of references.
  701. 43:36But I'm a member of a group that writes objective science, the secular science, that
  702. 43:43supports the absolute science, the knowledge of God.
  703. 43:47For example, catalytic converters take care of that carbon dioxide gas, just like the trees,
  704. 43:54and turn it into oxygen.
  705. 43:56And I refer to Timothy's reference to Paul's Timothy, chapter 6, first Timothy 6, 2021,
  706. 44:06to wear a science falsely for playing those having adopted a fall in the way, and then
  707. 44:12and now.
  708. 44:13So I'd like to give you these two references.
  709. 44:14We don't have time to answer
  710. 44:17for us as Genesis foundations, so you can trust Christ.
  711. 44:21And that's what's happened with our young people,
  712. 44:24last two generations have thrown the Genesis foundations out.
  713. 44:27And that's why there's so many are not reaching Christ.
  714. 44:30And you can use these two books that we were written
  715. 44:34to address any of the creation, evolution, debates
  716. 44:38and bring it out rightly by God's direction
  717. 44:42and the true objective science knowledge.
  718. 44:45Not the false science that all would take you
  719. 44:47to call the dogs, I'd guess.
  720. 44:49Yes, we can.
  721. 44:50If we were small enough.
  722. 44:51Hey, let me give Carl a chance to jump in here.
  723. 44:53Hold that thought.
  724. 44:55Carl, the Bible references science falsely so calm.
  725. 45:01Is that what Darwinian theory really is?
  726. 45:05Oh, absolutely.
  727. 45:06When you take a look at nothing turning into something
  728. 45:10to turn into a worm to grow legs,
  729. 45:12Carl out of the land of becoming an amphibian,
  730. 45:14turning to a rat,
  731. 45:14turning to a wolf to go back into the ocean,
  732. 45:16to become a whale.
  733. 45:17That's not science, that's science fiction.
  734. 45:19And I do like science fiction,
  735. 45:21but I know what it is, it's science fiction.
  736. 45:23And I'm not gonna let it determine who I am
  737. 45:26and who God is.
  738. 45:26It's just a story, and it's a very interesting story,
  739. 45:30but it's not a true story.
  740. 45:31So yes, science falsely so-called.
  741. 45:34When you talk about observational empirical science,
  742. 45:38Christians and non-Christians have the same rocks,
  743. 45:40they have the same people,
  744. 45:41have the same everything.
  745. 45:43The problem that we have is not with the observational evidence,
  746. 45:46it's with the interpretation of the evidence,
  747. 45:48and that is where we start falling into all these disagreements
  748. 45:52with people.
  749. 45:52But when you start with God's word
  750. 45:54and take that to say, OK, God created in the beginning,
  751. 45:57He created one man and one woman.
  752. 45:58Now I go to the world that I live in.
  753. 46:00I study the white chromosome, passed from the father
  754. 46:02to the child.
  755. 46:03And guess what?
  756. 46:03We all go back to one man.
  757. 46:05Could have saved a lot of time and money on that research.
  758. 46:07Mitochondriod DNA passed from the mother to the offspring.
  759. 46:10shows we all go back to one woman
  760. 46:12could have saved a lot of time and money on that research what we see in the world
  761. 46:15is consistent with what we read in the word
  762. 46:16we have to teach a generation how to start with the word to deal with those
  763. 46:19issues
  764. 46:21i'm going to go to patty uh... is it
  765. 46:23in uh... iowa patty are you an iowa
  766. 46:27one of the people that

  797. 48:14hard on the environment. Patty, forgive me we got to jump in here. Yes, I would argue this
  798. 48:21green energy is not really clean energy and it's certainly not ethically sourced.
  799. 48:26Call us at a time. There's a lot to talk about. What have you got on the dock? We've only got
  800. 48:3230 seconds. But the next debunked videos, what's going on in your world, Brother Carl?
  801. 48:38First for the debunk, we're debunking the claim that there's nothing wrong with porn.
  802. 48:42And that's a tough topic, but it needs to be addressed.
  803. 48:45Wow. And your website is
  804. 48:48rfolrh.com and the same with the app rfolrh.com.
