  1. 0:02Darkness is not an affirmative force.
  2. 0:04It simply reoccupies the space vacated by the light.
  3. 0:08This is the Hamilton Corner on American Family Radio.
  4. 0:12It should be uncomfortable for a believer to live as a hypocrite.
  5. 0:17Delivery people out of the bondage of mainstream media.
  6. 0:20And the philosophies of this world.
  7. 0:22God has called you and me to be his ambassador.
  8. 0:25Even in this dark moment.
  9. 0:28Let's not miss our moment.
  10. 0:30And now the Hamilton Corner.
  11. 0:33Good evening, everyone.
  12. 0:37Welcome to the Hamilton Corner.
  13. 0:39My name is Abraham Hamilton the third.
  14. 0:41I am the host of the program.
  15. 0:43And we are, as you probably can hear and tell by the set,
  16. 0:48that we are wrapping up our time here at the National
  17. 0:52Religious Broadcasters Convention, 2026.
  18. 0:56What an amazing conference this has been, convention this has been,
  19. 1:00getting to hear some people.
  20. 1:02It was quite interesting last night,
  21. 1:03I had the privilege of hearing Shannon bring.
  22. 1:06And she shared a bit of her testimony.
  23. 1:08I personally was not aware of her testimony,
  24. 1:11but she shared a bit and she described herself
  25. 1:14as a Christian in media, which was an amazing thing to witness,
  26. 1:20just to hear a bit about that.
  27. 1:22We'll see, we have some conversations she may be coming
  28. 1:25on the show at some point.
  29. 1:26We'll see about that in the future.
  30. 1:28But at this very moment, many of you, if not most,
  31. 1:30of you are making your transition from your part time jobs where you generate an income
  32. 1:35to your full time jobs where you cultivate an outcome.
  33. 1:38And as you do so, I want to remind you to do so with intentionality, understanding the
  34. 1:44primacy that God places on family, allowing his view to govern and God your view.
  35. 1:51And then we engage in our lives with the wisdom and the insight that the Lord provides for us.
  36. 2:00word truly is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our past and we would be well served by
  37. 2:06taking heed to what our Lord says to us. So as you are making your transition, let me remind
  38. 2:12you as I do on a daily basis that what goes on in your house is far more important than
  39. 2:18what goes on in the White House. And again, the point of that expression is not to denigrate
  40. 2:24anything that transpires in the White House, not in the least bit, but simply to place a
  41. 2:27a fine and appropriate point on what goes on in your lives.
  42. 2:32Because you and I are primary, not primary, but we are responsible and accountable for what
  43. 2:38we do with our lives and the things that God has placed within our jurisdictions.
  44. 2:45And if we allow ourselves to be distracted, we allow ourselves to be lulled into a false
  45. 2:53sense of ease and we ease our way into a rebellion.
  46. 2:59And that might sound like it's strong,
  47. 3:01but it's appropriate.
  48. 3:02If we ease our way into a rebellion,
  49. 3:05we have to understand that we're gonna be accountable for that.
  50. 3:08So when I'm talking about easing our way into a rebellion,
  51. 3:11there's a reason why God gave us the warning He gave us
  52. 3:14in Deuteronomy chapter eight, for example,
  53. 3:17that you have the wilderness Israelized,
  54. 3:18the second generation,
  55. 3:20and the Lord warns them through Moses,
  56. 3:22Be careful once you've entered the Promised Land.
  57. 3:25Be careful once you've eaten and your tummets are full
  58. 3:29and your gold and your silver,
  59. 3:30you have it in its multiplying, your flocks and your herds,
  60. 3:33you have them and they're multiplying.
  61. 3:35Be careful then that you do not forget the Lord
  62. 3:39because God knows us better than we could ever dream
  63. 3:42of knowing ourselves and he knows how we can ease our way
  64. 3:46into a subtle, seemingly subtle station
  65. 3:52rebellion against him and in many ways that is what we're facing in our country
  66. 3:57currently. You know I had Todd Nettleton on not too long ago talking about
  67. 4:02persecuting Christians enduring kinetic overt hostile physical persecution but
  68. 4:07some of us fail to give appropriate measure to the challenges of being
  69. 4:14faithful to the Lord in the in a land of of relative plenty like I've been saying
  70. 4:18since we've been here in the United States of America you rarely have people who
  71. 4:22who have to ask themselves the question,
  72. 4:24if I am going to eat today.
  73. 4:26Usually Americans question is what am I going to eat today?
  74. 4:32That is a question that can only be presented
  75. 4:35within a context of luxury or abundance generally speaking.
  76. 4:40That's where the word of God we go.
  77. 4:41Isaiah chapter six is where I wanna go today.
  78. 4:44Isaiah chapter six, because I believe the Lord
  79. 4:47gives us clarity in his word,
  80. 4:49concerning the role that we should expect to play
  81. 4:51as is remnant within the context that he's deposited us in
  82. 4:56in this day in this time.
  83. 4:57So Isaiah chapter 60, Isaiah, did I say six?
  84. 5:00I mean, 60, Isaiah chapter 60, verses one through three.
  85. 5:04And this is what the Lord's word says.
  86. 5:06Arise, shine for your light has come.
  87. 5:11And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
  88. 5:16For behold, darkness will cover the earth
  89. 5:19and deep or thick darkness or gross darkness
  90. 5:23will cover the peoples,
  91. 5:25but the Lord will arise upon you
  92. 5:27and His glory will appear upon you.
  93. 5:30Nations will come to your light
  94. 5:33and kings to the brightness of your rising.
  95. 5:36Now, as we talk about this,
  96. 5:39and I've mentioned some of this before on this show,
  97. 5:41but the Lord is very intentional
  98. 5:43and conveying this to us to the Prophet Isaiah.
  99. 5:45When it says,
  100. 5:46"'Arise and shine for your light has come.'"
  101. 5:48This is an expression of what is already transpired.
  102. 5:51This is language that would apply to God's remnant,
  103. 5:54His covenant people, for your light has come
  104. 5:56and the devote of God, the glory of God, the splendor,
  105. 6:01the weightiness of God has risen upon you.
  106. 6:03This is remnant talk.
  107. 6:05This is body talk.
  108. 6:07Then the scripture says this,
  109. 6:08will behold, darkness will cover the earth.
  110. 6:11That is a generalized darkness.
  111. 6:14That is a product of a people rebelling against the Lord.
  112. 6:17But then he adds this.
  113. 6:18Deep darkness or thick darkness or gross darkness will cover the peoples
  114. 6:23This grosser thick darkness covering the peoples is indicative of the darkness that would that would prevail in the minds
  115. 6:31When there's a generalized darkness culturally there is a particular eyes darkness that deludes
  116. 6:39Mankind and causes man to begin to consider things that they never considered before you know things like a
  117. 6:45a two-year-old can determine whether or not they've been born into the wrong body.
  118. 6:49You know, earlier this week I talked about an elementary school teacher who has
  119. 6:53threatened determination at a charter school in Nashville, Tennessee,
  120. 6:58because they refused to read LGBTQ plus indoctrination books to six-year-olds.
  121. 7:06And the school thought that they were on solid ground by threatening this teacher
  122. 7:10determination.
  123. 7:11That's the kind of gross doctors we're talking about,
  124. 7:15where there is what the love of many have wax cold and there's a rejection of the idea that life is sacred.
  125. 7:23We should not be casual or cavalier with the way that we treat life.
  126. 7:27And I'm talking about life from conception onto natural exploration.
  127. 7:31But there is a casual and calloused treatment of life.
  128. 7:36This is indicative of the thick darkness or the gross darkness, you know,
  129. 7:41in addition to on the notion of sexuality,
  130. 7:45violations of God's laws and standards
  131. 7:48concerning homosexuality and transgenderism,
  132. 7:52there is a complete rejection of God's standards
  133. 7:55as it applies to heterosexual sexuality.
  134. 7:58You know, the prevalence of pornography,
  135. 8:00the prevalence of phonication and adultery,
  136. 8:03and those things being normalized,
  137. 8:05being normalized in our society,
  138. 8:06as if no big deal, guys,
  139. 8:08all of this is evidence of the thick darkness that the Lord warned us about through the prophet Isaiah.
  140. 8:15But that's not the end of the story because then the Lord goes on to say this, but the Lord will
  141. 8:21arise upon you. The Hebrew word therefore arises, Zarach. The Lord will Zarach upon you. It gives
  142. 8:28the indication of like a geyser that you have the the Lord bursting through the crusty surface, if you
  143. 8:38will with his presence. The Lord will break out upon you. He's talking about his people and his glory,
  144. 8:45the same glory that is already resting upon his people. Verse 3 goes on to say, and his glory will
  145. 8:51Raah is the word there. When it says will appear upon you. The Hebrew word Raah means literally that
  146. 8:59it shall be seen and perceived with revelatory insight. It's the type of sight that is not the
  147. 9:07the product solely of optical lenses.
  148. 9:09It's the exact same word that the Lord used when He says
  149. 9:12to Abram that I will show you your heritage.
  150. 9:15Abram knew very well what Canaan was.
  151. 9:17He knew what that land was.
  152. 9:19It's not as if people say he's going to land
  153. 9:20he never seen, no he knew what the land was,
  154. 9:23but he hadn't seen it with the revelation
  155. 9:25that this is the heritage that God has ordained for me.
  156. 9:28The Lord uses that exact same word to the prophet Isaiah
  157. 9:31to say that in this time where there's a generalized darkness
  158. 9:33over the people and a specified darkness in the minds of the masses of the people that
  159. 9:41his glory will arise upon his people.
  160. 9:44I'm sorry, that he will arise upon his people and his glory will be seen will be rah-ah.
  161. 9:52The result of that, the consequence of that is in verse 3, nations or the Hebrew word there
  162. 9:57is goi.
  163. 9:59Peoples will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising.
  164. 10:05This is why brothers and sisters, the body of Christ, we have to understand the call
  165. 10:08to be peculiar.
  166. 10:09That God has a divine ordinance and intrinsic to the call to be peculiar.
  167. 10:13That ordinance is to create that contrast between what is prominent and popular amongst
  168. 10:20the peoples that are not in the eternal arc of safety and what is prominent and prevalent
  169. 10:25in the people that are God's people.
  170. 10:27That this contrast is not really a contrast for the articulation of the sake of difference.
  171. 10:32It's not simply to say hey, this is how my people over here and everybody else is like this over there
  172. 10:36That is not the purpose the purpose is because say it this way ideas have consequences and bad ideas create casualties
  173. 10:45How often are we seeing even now when we're starting to even to see some litigation surrounding this or you have young people who?
  174. 10:51Unfortunately had been deceived into thinking wrongly about their identity and about their bodies and things of that nature
  175. 10:56And and you have this whole phenomenon developing of D
  176. 10:59He transitioned.
  177. 11:00Young people who are saying that, you know, when I was younger, they didn't understand
  178. 11:03this and I didn't have sufficient protection around me.
  179. 11:05They even had some medical professionals who manipulated my parents and saying that if I
  180. 11:09didn't have these mutilation surgeries and things of that nature, then that would result
  181. 11:13in some form of suicide and things of that nature.
  182. 11:15And so now you have lawsuits for like the most recent one in New York where during which
  183. 11:21to professionals, the surgeon and the psychologist were both sued and millions of dollars were
  184. 11:28the judgment. There are some 28 others of those cases that are filed all around the country.
  185. 11:33You're seeing that happening because ideas have consequences and bad ideas create casualties.
  186. 11:39The Lord wants to have this difference between his people, his remnant people, and the prevalence
  187. 11:43of the gross darkness surrounding his people to highlight their contrast, but also to show
  188. 11:49to the world, listen, just because that's what's prevalent, that doesn't have to be your preferred
  189. 11:55pursuit. It doesn't have to be. Just because that's the broad road. The broad
  190. 11:59road isn't the only road. Just because that's the way that's most familiar to you
  191. 12:04that is not the only option, the only thing available to you. And the Lord wants
  192. 12:08to make that appeal through His people as much as unfortunately out in our
  193. 12:14time people want to denigrate the reality of the Lord's Church. The Lord
  194. 12:17sent through His Word that His manifold wisdom will be put on display how through
  195. 12:23through his bride. The manifold wisdom of God would be made accessible and made prevalent
  196. 12:31through his church, that the church is what the Lord is ordained to be the pillar and ground
  197. 12:36of the truth. This is why guys, the enemy works overtime to blunt and to nullify the witness
  198. 12:43of the church in our societies. But this prophecy from Isaiah, centuries before Messiah's incarnation,
  199. 12:53gives an indication as to what we should expect and how it is to unfold.
  200. 12:59And that is what the contrast between the gross, sorry, the generalized darkness culturally
  201. 13:07and the gross darkness upon the mind to the people.
  202. 13:09Romans 1 gives us even more insight on what that looks like because man failed to retain God in
  203. 13:14knowledge. He became futile in his reasoning capacity. Intellectual functionings were blunted
  204. 13:20and diminished. Guys, this is not the feature merely of modernity. This is the product of
  205. 13:25spiritual decay. This is the product of what happens when people reject God. We become diminished
  206. 13:32in our capacities. And that is what's happening. But the Lord didn't want that to be the end
  207. 13:38of the story, which is why he ordained for himself abroad. I often reflect on Acts chapter 17.
  208. 13:47When the Lord said there, through the Apostle Paul, as he's making his appeal to the Athenians,
  209. 13:52We said the Lord before time determined the boundaries of our habitation and the times in which we would live.
  210. 13:59Think he's surprised that we're contented with the stuff we're contented with now.
  211. 14:03He's not surprised at all.
  212. 14:06But then he not only diagnoses the what he tells us to why.
  213. 14:09Then he determined the boundaries of our habitation.
  214. 14:12Also told us to win.
  215. 14:13And the times in which we would live for what purpose?
  216. 14:16So men would seek God.
  217. 14:19Then he adds this.
  218. 14:20grasp toward him to find him, even though he's not far from any one of us.
  219. 14:25This is what we should seek to be.
  220. 14:27So instead of kind of cultivating an escapist orientation,
  221. 14:30kind of a self-absorbed, self-central plea of Marinatha,
  222. 14:37let's take full advantage of the time that God has given us to be his hands and feet,
  223. 14:41to be something like, and that the love of our King is what compels us
  224. 14:45to love our neighbors as ourselves.
  225. 14:47And as my daddy's day playing basketball, and let's leave it all on the floor,
  226. 14:50Because guess what? After all this is said and done, we have eternity to expect.
  227. 14:54We have eternity to enjoy. So since we know heaven is our home, why don't we live like him?
  228. 15:03Deep fakes are images or videos that are digitally altered. Dr. Jessica Peck, host of the Dr. Nurse
  229. 15:10Mama Show. I worry about kids who are going to do this without even thinking because they've been
  230. 15:16conditioned to think that deep fakes are funny. If you're the parent of a teen, you know that
  231. 15:22teenagers today face realities that you never faced. The Dr. Nurse Mama Show can help listen
  232. 15:29weekday afternoons at 2 Central on AFR.
  233. 15:38Shining light into the darkness. This is the Hamilton Corner, an American family radio.
  234. 15:44Welcome back to the Hamilton Corner, Abraham Hamilton III here. I'm delighted to be on the
  235. 15:49program with a brother who I love and appreciate who I've had the privilege of being on his
  236. 15:55program numerous times and i think this is your first time on my program is it is
  237. 15:59is
  238. 15:59alright i'm speaking on other than perry at kinson who is the founder
  239. 16:03of the dove television is and radio and radio the dove television and radio
  240. 16:08that is
  241. 16:09that is home home bases in the pacific northwest where and met for door again
  242. 16:14beautiful downtown met for door and that for or again so let's start with this
  243. 16:17question
  244. 16:19what
  245. 16:20first i guess for those who may not be aware what is the dove television radio
  246. 16:24The Dove Television Radio is a network of 14 radio stations
  247. 16:28and 22 television stations,
  248. 16:32headquartered in Medford, Oregon.
  249. 16:35We're also on seven cable systems.
  250. 16:37We're live on Roku and Apple and streaming.
  251. 16:42And we've been there 43 years doing what God called us to do.
  252. 16:46And we've given birth to a lot of other ministries,
  253. 16:49a Bible college which now is fully accredited and going.
  254. 16:52So anyway, it's kind of like you, we never sleep.
  255. 16:55That's fantastic.
  256. 16:58Now what's the name of the Bible College?
  257. 16:59It's now called Pacific Bible College.
  258. 17:02It started as the Dove Bible Institute in 89.
  259. 17:05Wow.
  260. 17:06And today it's called the Pacific Bible College.
  261. 17:08And it is a full four year accredited Bible College.
  262. 17:11And liberal arts.
  263. 17:12That's amazing.
  264. 17:13Yeah.
  265. 17:13That's amazing.
  266. 17:14So what moved you?
  267. 17:15And I would imagine the dove started first with the television radio.
  268. 17:19and then the time was radio.
  269. 17:21Start with radio.
  270. 17:21Start with radio.
  271. 17:22In 83, I did something really crazy.
  272. 17:25I don't recommend this.
  273. 17:26But I sold my home and bought a daytime radio station.
  274. 17:31I had to go to the transmitter and turn it on in the morning,
  275. 17:34broadcast air of the day, run back,
  276. 17:36and turn the transmitter off at night.
  277. 17:38And that's how we started in 1983.
  278. 17:41I originally, before that, I was a traffic pilot
  279. 17:44for the radio television station in Sacramento.
  280. 17:47And I ended up managing the radio station
  281. 17:49that Rush Limbaugh got to start at.
  282. 17:51Wow.
  283. 17:52I didn't know that part.
  284. 17:53And then God called us to Southern Oregon.
  285. 17:55That's amazing.
  286. 17:56So what was it about broadcasting, radio first,
  287. 18:00and then television that the Lord drew you
  288. 18:04to kind of pursue his call for you in those areas?
  289. 18:08OK, when I was flying the plane for KCRA and K-F-B-K radio
  290. 18:13in Sacramento, I would fly the morning traffic.
  291. 18:17I'd land, I'd go to Bible school during the day,
  292. 18:20then I'd get back into plane at night and I flew to traffic.
  293. 18:23And then when I got out of Bible calls,
  294. 18:25I went to work for the radio station.
  295. 18:27And I just got the thinking how powerful media is.
  296. 18:31And I said, Lord, how can this be used for you?
  297. 18:35And in those days, contemporary Christian music
  298. 18:37was just coming on the scene.
  299. 18:40And some of these Bible teachers were just coming on the scene.
  300. 18:43And so by faith, we felt like God called us to go into Christian radio.
  301. 18:49We sold our home and went up.
  302. 18:51We knew nothing about what we were doing.
  303. 18:54And we started it, and I'm still alive.
  304. 18:59Now, I mean, you're more than alive.
  305. 19:01I mean, your station was awarded, I think this year, the station of the year by NRB.
  306. 19:06Right.
  307. 19:07Television station.
  308. 19:08Television station.
  309. 19:09That's amazing.
  310. 19:09Now you said you flew the traffic.
  311. 19:11What does it mean to fly the traffic?
  312. 19:12I was a pilot and in those days we had traffic,
  313. 19:16we had airplanes flying the traffic,
  314. 19:18reporting on the traffic on the freeway system.
  315. 19:20And so I did that five hours a day for nine years.
  316. 19:25Wow.
  317. 19:26And you said then you were confronted
  318. 19:27with the power of media.
  319. 19:29Right.
  320. 19:30How was that?
  321. 19:32How were you confronted with the potency of media
  322. 19:35at that stage that led you to be willing to even sell your house?
  323. 19:38Okay, the station I worked for was a news station
  324. 19:40And I thought, could Christians have a station where they could get the news and Bible without
  325. 19:47having to leave one resource to go to the other?
  326. 19:51And so we started with doing a morning news shift.
  327. 19:55I thought, why should Christians go to another station to get informed and get weather and
  328. 19:58then come back for Bible teaching?
  329. 20:00Why could they get it all on one?
  330. 20:01And that was our beginning format and that's the format we have today.
  331. 20:04That's amazing.
  332. 20:06Now we fast forward.
  333. 20:08You started in radio.
  334. 20:09Mm-hmm.
  335. 20:10And would you just share a bit with us about that journey
  336. 20:12and then how you ended up adding television
  337. 20:15to the Devs offerings?
  338. 20:16Well, we just started.
  339. 20:18We had this daytime, then we prayed,
  340. 20:20and we got a full-time license.
  341. 20:22We were able to go from just sunrise to sunset
  342. 20:25to 24 hours a day.
  343. 20:26Then we got another license to go to a 20,000 watt radio
  344. 20:33station.
  345. 20:34And then one day a pastor called me,
  346. 20:36and he said, I have this guy on my staff
  347. 20:39that has a permit to build an FM station,
  348. 20:42and we don't want them to build the station,
  349. 20:44we want to give it to you.
  350. 20:46So I said, okay, I looked at this,
  351. 20:47and the long story short, they gave it to us,
  352. 20:51I went out, got on the phone,
  353. 20:53a color engineering crew up in Seattle,
  354. 20:55and I said, what can we do with this?
  355. 20:56It was originally licensed for 10 watts.
  356. 21:0010 watts?
  357. 21:00You could barely get it outside
  358. 21:01the parking lot of the church.
  359. 21:03Yeah.
  360. 21:03Okay, when he got done with it,
  361. 21:05we found out that we could change it
  362. 21:07to a Class C1 FM 26,000.
  363. 21:12Wow.
  364. 21:13And we did that, and that launched our FM side of things.
  365. 21:16And so we did that for quite a few years.
  366. 21:18And all along, I thought, would we ever do TV?
  367. 21:21And I had a chance to get a TV license,
  368. 21:23and it fell through it.
  369. 21:24I thought, well, God didn't want us to have a TV license.
  370. 21:26And I kind of gave up on the dream.
  371. 21:29And literally, one day, I got a call from a friend of mine.
  372. 21:33In fact, I didn't know.
  373. 21:34I'm a friend of a became a friend.
  374. 21:36He said, I have a television license, do you want it?
  375. 21:39I said yes.
  376. 21:40And so long story short, we bought it from them,
  377. 21:43and we built a television station in 2005.
  378. 21:47That is absolutely remarkable.
  379. 21:51Now, your desire to have a presence in media for Christians,
  380. 21:57what drove that desire?
  381. 21:58That's the first part of the question.
  382. 22:00And secondarily, being in the Pacific Northwest,
  383. 22:03which is a unique portion of our country.
  384. 22:06How does that relate to God's call for you
  385. 22:08to really make a presence for the kingdom immediate?
  386. 22:11Well, it's been said the Pacific Northwest
  387. 22:14is the most un-Christian part of the United States.
  388. 22:17And if you know anything about California, Oregon,
  389. 22:19and Washington, they're three very, very, very liberal states.
  390. 22:25And so we felt called to be there and to do that.
  391. 22:30And that's what we've been doing.
  392. 22:31And so we've taken our format and we just slowly grew it up
  393. 22:34down the Pacific Northwest coastline and where we are today.
  394. 22:40Now that is absolutely remarkable. Are there any testimonies that you can share
  395. 22:46about what it's like representing the Lord in that portion of our country? Because
  396. 22:51like you said it is widely regarded as some of the least Christian portions of
  397. 22:56our country but I'm often reminded because we have listeners and viewers in that
  398. 23:00area of the country that their believer is there. And these are souls who our Lord cares about,
  399. 23:05so that the body of Christ should care about it as well.
  400. 23:07Right. Well, let me hear about them as well.
  401. 23:09Okay, so let me give you a scripture the Lord gave me about 10 years ago. It's found in Romans 10,
  402. 23:1620, and it says this, I was found by those who were not seeking me, and I manifested my love to those
  403. 23:24who did not ask. Now how does that happen? In media only God can match the content of a
  404. 23:31radio or television program with the person at the right time. When they weren't looking
  405. 23:37for God. He showed himself to them. They have the tune in. Now they say, I just have the
  406. 23:41tune in. What a coincidence. No, a coincidence is God's way of staying anonymous. Okay, we
  407. 23:46don't call them coincidences. We call them divine appointments. Amen. So often, almost
  408. 23:52weekly we hear from somebody said I just happened to tune in at this time and I heard
  409. 23:56this person and it changed my life. I think one of the most dramatic ones one day I got
  410. 24:00a call from a lady out of New York City she was listening to us online and she said are
  411. 24:07you Perry Atkinson I said yes she's well like I have to tell you something she said would
  412. 24:11you send me one of your devotions we print the word for you today devotional and I said
  413. 24:15she would be glad to and she said well you need to know something and I said what's that
  414. 24:19She said, I sat on the edge of my bed two weeks ago with a gun.
  415. 24:27And she said, I was going to commit suicide.
  416. 24:31And I said, well, what happened?
  417. 24:32She said, at the last minute, I turned my television station on.
  418. 24:36She said, or my TV said on.
  419. 24:39She said, to this day, I don't know.
  420. 24:40I have no idea.
  421. 24:42But your channel came up.
  422. 24:44And Anne Graham Lott was preaching.
  423. 24:47And she happened to preach right where I was.
  424. 24:51And I said, God, if you're real, show me that.
  425. 24:53And she gave her life to Christ.
  426. 24:56Then she calls back and she wants our devotion.
  427. 24:58And I said, well, be glad to see you.
  428. 25:00Well, would you mind sending me 30 of them?
  429. 25:03I said, no, I have no problem with that.
  430. 25:05What do you need them for?
  431. 25:05She says, my apartment is above a brothel in New York City.
  432. 25:12And I want to give one to every girl downstairs.
  433. 25:16Now, the only thing I can say for those of us in media,
  434. 25:19Unlike a pastor who stands in a pulpit and sees the reaction of his preaching, those of us
  435. 25:24from me, we have no idea who we're talking to.
  436. 25:27We have no idea what the thinking or feeling.
  437. 25:29And that's what that scripture comes in.
  438. 25:31When they weren't even asking for me, I manifested my love to them.
  439. 25:36You look it up, it's found in Isaiah and Romans 10 20.
  440. 25:39Amen.
  441. 25:40Wow.
  442. 25:41I'm a big gobsmack at what you're saying because I often say I can forget who's on other side.
  443. 25:50other side of the microphone because we're in the studio and we do these different things
  444. 25:53and as we get to travel, we get to meet people who tune in different things like that but
  445. 25:57here in the testimony like that, it's encouraging to me to continue pressing forward because each
  446. 26:02soul is pressed to the world.
  447. 26:03You just don't know who's listening and you don't know who's watching and you have to
  448. 26:07trust God to take it and they'll call it a coincidence.
  449. 26:10It's not that at all.
  450. 26:11It's a divine appointment and it's an interesting that God will match what you're talking about
  451. 26:16What's the person who needs that content at the right moment?
  452. 26:20Amen.
  453. 26:21And it's amazing.
  454. 26:22They may tune in halfway through your sermon,
  455. 26:24but it's the part of the sermon
  456. 26:25that God ordained for them to hear that changes their life.
  457. 26:29Amen.
  458. 26:29Before I get too far, how can people tune into the dove,
  459. 26:33both television and radio, and keep up with everything
  460. 26:36that you're doing there, based in Medford?
  461. 26:38Well, probably the best way is go to our website,
  462. 26:40because you can stream both radio and TV there at the dove.us.
  463. 26:44The dove.us.
  464. 26:46Okay, now in terms of programming for both,
  465. 26:48I guess I'll start with radio, then television.
  466. 26:50What type of programming should people expect to receive
  467. 26:53when they tune in to the dove on radio first?
  468. 26:55They don't tell the vision.
  469. 26:56Okay, so on both sides we do something very unique.
  470. 27:01Three hours every morning, six to nine live,
  471. 27:04we run two hours of news and one hour to talk
  472. 27:07on all the radio, on all the television,
  473. 27:10on all of the cable system and live streaming
  474. 27:14on Roku on Apple. We're on all those devices live for three hours every day. And we use
  475. 27:20news as a fishnet. We use news to get people to tune in and then we give them the gospel.
  476. 27:27Okay. And then our talk show, it's the part that you're on, you know, we have people like you
  477. 27:32and you're always great. I miss having you more often. I should call you at home.
  478. 27:35home. But anyway, and then we have some of the best national speakers throughout the
  479. 27:44day and other people that are on even some local programming, but primarily quality people
  480. 27:49that are giving the word that you can trust. You know, that you can trust.
  481. 27:53Which is a key component that you can trust. We saw, unfortunately, a spaked of people having
  482. 28:00public fairies and things of that nature. So having the ability to have people that we can trust is so
  483. 28:07vital. I have a heart when I was younger than I am now, my pastor back in my home time, my home church
  484. 28:14from Orleans, when he asked me that I said he got called him in the ministry of some sort and I said
  485. 28:18yes, I was assigned to what we call the season saints. The sick and the shut in, those who couldn't
  486. 28:23come out any longer. So I got to spend my earliest years in ministry visiting the older brothers and
  487. 28:29and sisters in our local church and bringing community things of that nature.
  488. 28:32So the Lord really gave me a heart for our older brothers and sisters and one of the things
  489. 28:36that happened through that, there was one brother in particular, the brother of France, that I'm
  490. 28:40supposed to be minister to him, he ministered to me every time.
  491. 28:43And it was nothing like having an older brother in the faith who's been through the throes
  492. 28:48of life.
  493. 28:49I mean, I would talk to him about how when things concerning Jim Crow, Louisiana changed
  494. 28:54and all of these other things and it was such a ministry that Lord is giving me a heart.
  495. 28:58of a faithful brothers over time.
  496. 28:59And I see you as another one of those faithful,
  497. 29:02a brother that I look to,
  498. 29:03who's been able to be consistent and faithful over time.
  499. 29:08And we need more of that because the trust,
  500. 29:12it takes a lifetime to build up,
  501. 29:13but it can be forfeited in a moment.
  502. 29:15And we're living at a time where we're seeing
  503. 29:17ministerial failure at a level that's unlike anything
  504. 29:21we've ever seen before.
  505. 29:22It's embarrassing, obviously.
  506. 29:24But at the same time, I think God is,
  507. 29:28Scripture says judgment starts in the house of the Lord first.
  508. 29:31I think the Lord is cleaning up some things,
  509. 29:33and we have to be strong enough to endure this.
  510. 29:36But to the point is, we make sure that the ministries
  511. 29:41that are on the dove are trustworthy,
  512. 29:43and that their gospel message is clear.
  513. 29:45It's not clouded with a lot of innu-windows and one-liners.
  514. 29:49It's the message of the gospel clear and simple.
  515. 29:53That's what we look.
  516. 29:54Amen. Amen.
  517. 29:56Have you faced any challenges with the work
  518. 29:59administered that you're doing there being in
  519. 30:01Medford, Oregon? I'm not familiar with Oregon as much as other
  520. 30:04other places in terms of local people coming against you,
  521. 30:07trying to stop what God is doing through your work.
  522. 30:09We've had a few, not a whole lot. We're, we're, we're well
  523. 30:13respected in the community. But when you're broadcast, again,
  524. 30:18you don't know who's listening or watching, and then you'll start
  525. 30:20to get pushed back. I will say this in the last year and a half,
  526. 30:23two years, we've had more pushback than we've had ever.
  527. 30:29And I think it's just a sign of the times in the culture.
  528. 30:33I'll say this that I have had some legitimate
  529. 30:36and significant threats.
  530. 30:39Okay, that's all I'll say because a lot of these things
  531. 30:42are being looked at.
  532. 30:44And when you look at it, basically,
  533. 30:47I think if you're gonna talk about God
  534. 30:50and what his word says about what's happening in the culture
  535. 30:53and the culture is trying to pass as normal,
  536. 30:55which is certainly not the case,
  537. 30:57you're gonna get pushed back.
  538. 30:58You're gonna upset a lot of people.
  539. 31:00And the question is, is the gospel message
  540. 31:04in the middle of all of your talk clear?
  541. 31:07Always wanna leave that hope in the message.
  542. 31:09Amen, amen.
  543. 31:10But we have about a minute before this segment ends,
  544. 31:13and I don't know if you have time to stick around
  545. 31:14for another one or not.
  546. 31:15Whatever you want, I'm here.
  547. 31:16Well, if you can stick around.
  548. 31:18Man, when I grow up, I wanna be like you.
  549. 31:19Well, that makes one of us.
  550. 31:21the
  551. 31:23of
  552. 31:26the last few seconds in this this segment we get on the other side of this break
  553. 31:29I want to ask you some questions as a pretense to what do you see happening in our nation some people
  554. 31:34possibly
  555. 31:34the one to break of
  556. 31:36of breakthrough some of the news there's you know and I want to ask where you fall in that
  557. 31:42of course you know I have my own opinions about all your news post and opinion of what I want to hear what you think about that
  558. 31:48I will just continue our conversation along those lines.
  559. 31:51You are watching and listening to or listening to
  560. 31:54the Hamilton Corner on American Family Radio Network.
  561. 31:56My guest is Peri Atkinson, founder and president

  572. 33:15Back to the Hamilton Quarter on American Family Radio.
  573. 33:20Welcome back to the Hamilton Corner, Abraham Hamilton the third here, host of the program.
  574. 33:24My guest is our brother, Perry Atkinson, founder and president of the Dove Radio and Television,
  575. 33:30headquartered in Medford, Oregon, Pacific Northwest.
  576. 33:35Before we went to the break, I set up the question I wanted to ask you because we're living in
  577. 33:38precarious times.
  578. 33:40The world witnessed Charlie Kirk basically assassinated and martyred in front of all of
  579. 33:46our eyes.
  580. 33:47it. And some postulate that, hey, we are on the brink in our nation of a massive breakthrough.
  581. 33:54Others are doomsdayers that would say, no, we're too far gone. I wanted to ask you, Brother
  582. 33:58Perry, where do you think we are in terms of the witness of Christ and the Lord's will
  583. 34:02for our nation here in the United States of America?
  584. 34:05Well, let me say I'm very optimistic, okay, and I'm also very cautious. But I will say
  585. 34:12I say this that I believe from what I'm sensing and feeling in the interviews that I've done,
  586. 34:18Abe, and by the way, I've done 21,000 interviews over 47 years.
  587. 34:22So 21,000.
  588. 34:2331,000.
  589. 34:2431,000.
  590. 34:2521,000.
  591. 34:26But 21,000.
  592. 34:27Okay.
  593. 34:28So I have three a day.
  594. 34:29So, but here's the point.
  595. 34:31You learn a lot.
  596. 34:32You know, you've interviewed people.
  597. 34:33You learn a lot and you sense a lot and you feel a lot.
  598. 34:37I sense that there is a silent revival going on.
  599. 34:40Now let me explain that.
  600. 34:43In the past we've had movements of God across the country and they usually are around a
  601. 34:48certain denomination or a church or a group.
  602. 34:51Okay and that's fine.
  603. 34:53But this one isn't like that.
  604. 34:55It seems like God is moving in a way that no one gets to credit but him.
  605. 34:59Amen.
  606. 35:00Okay.
  607. 35:01Young people, especially young men, I've had George Warren on the show regular.
  608. 35:04In fact he's still on our show maybe a couple of times a month.
  609. 35:09In this movement of young men seeking an alternative to all the nonsense that the culture seems
  610. 35:15to be real.
  611. 35:17It seems to be real.
  612. 35:19Something is happening.
  613. 35:20They are drawn.
  614. 35:21The culture has lied to them, the young people.
  615. 35:25On the flip side, there seems that young women, female, seems to be going the other way while
  616. 35:30young men seem to be coming in.
  617. 35:32I don't know what that's about, but some of the statistics supports that.
  618. 35:35But here's the deal.
  619. 35:36I think there really is a seeking, a silent revival.
  620. 35:42There's so much gospel going out.
  621. 35:44God is using all forms of it.
  622. 35:46Your show, my show, look at this place.
  623. 35:49And people are responding.
  624. 35:51And so the only thing I can say is
  625. 35:53there seems to be something brewing.
  626. 35:56Now does it turn into a national revival?
  627. 35:58Does it turn into a great awakening?
  628. 36:00I don't know.
  629. 36:01But the darker things get,
  630. 36:03the greater the light is shining.
  631. 36:05And I sense that there is a hunger,
  632. 36:08unlike we've ever seen before.
  633. 36:10Here's the question.
  634. 36:12Do they really hear the gospel in this?
  635. 36:16If there's a concern, my concern is,
  636. 36:20is our message clear?
  637. 36:22Yeah.
  638. 36:23That's my concern.
  639. 36:25That should be the concern.
  640. 36:27And there are people who have said certain things
  641. 36:32said certain things and to your point about whether or not the gospel is clear, there are
  642. 36:38lots of things that muddy the clear presentation of the gospel. One of the things, and I hate
  643. 36:44to say this because I hate that it is true but it doesn't make it any less true, sometimes
  644. 36:50people muddy the gospel proclamation frankly with their own agendas.
  645. 36:55Yes, yes. And I think that at times that becomes clear. I don't know if people realize
  646. 37:02that Jesus isn't a Republican. Okay. And his message isn't politics. But what's
  647. 37:11happened in the world, and excuse me, especially the culture that we live in,
  648. 37:15everything spiritual in our life, everything that every tenant of our
  649. 37:20faith has been robbed by the culture and politicized in an attempt to keep us
  650. 37:28out of the argument. Yes. We need to understand that is a trick of the enemy and we need to
  651. 37:34go in there and claim that ground back and just claim it biblically. Yes. We don't have
  652. 37:39to get up and yell and scream. God didn't make 15 sexes. They only made two. That's right.
  653. 37:45It's clear. We have to be simple about it. And the Bible says, well, the truth is proclaimed.
  654. 37:49There is freedom. You know what? Even a non-believer knows when they hear the truth, they feel something
  655. 37:54different. And I think the other thing we need to be careful of, we're not the Holy Spirit.
  656. 38:02You know, we're to plow the soil, plant the seeds, water, harvest is up to Him.
  657. 38:08Okay, but the point is we try to do all of that in one sitting in radio television. Somebody will
  658. 38:16hear a little bit that you and I talked about today. That's the seed it'll begin to grow.
  659. 38:20You and I will never see the fruit of that until we get to heaven. We got to believe and
  660. 38:24trust God that he's doing that.
  661. 38:26Yeah, and I would add that and be not only just okay with that, but rejoice in that.
  662. 38:31Yeah, you know, rejoice in that not having a desire for self-aggrandizement or kind of to use
  663. 38:37the gospel as a cover for an effort to be self-aggrandiz, you know, to have some kind of personal
  664. 38:45gratification with that. What are some of the things that you perceive as some of the greatest threats to
  665. 38:51Having this clear proclamation of the gospel that I would have some of the rumblings you described as a silent revival
  666. 38:56To have those things to to burden into full-blown maturity
  667. 39:00Wow, that's a big question
  668. 39:04I'd say well, you know when I have you on you and I have had some very serious heavy discussions
  669. 39:10Yes, okay, but it's done in love. Yes
  670. 39:12They hear the spirit between you and I as brothers
  671. 39:15But they also hear the spirit between you and I as genuine people wanting people to be set free of whatever
  672. 39:22has them. But I would say today that it's so easily for us to be drug into the argument
  673. 39:29and to become angry. I'm angry at a lot of things, okay, but vengeance belongs for the
  674. 39:38Lord. And I think that we don't have to respond in anger. We just have to respond with clarity
  675. 39:46and let the rest take care of itself, you know. But I would say one of the things is
  676. 39:50that can they see a simple message in us?
  677. 39:54Can they see us that we're confident in what we believe
  678. 39:57because we know what we believe,
  679. 39:58because we know who we believe?
  680. 40:02But so many people are responding because they really,
  681. 40:04I wanna say this carefully to hope you get feedback
  682. 40:08or that's kind of what we're talking about.
  683. 40:10But, you know, people don't study the word.
  684. 40:16And so what they give for an answer is an opinion.
  685. 40:20It's not Bible.
  686. 40:21Yeah. You know, and unless you're in a daily Bible reading of some sort, you're going to
  687. 40:28come out with an opinion and that's where you're going to get him to trouble. That makes sense?
  688. 40:32No, it makes perfect sense. You know, one of the things that I experience is I travel a bit
  689. 40:38of speaking to different places that I find that there are people in this nation that are
  690. 40:44hungry for the truth. You know, a friend of mine is a pastor from Nigeria and he says to
  691. 40:50he always appreciates the United States of America because the United States has sent the most
  692. 40:56missionaries into the world of any nation in the history of the world, which is true, but he also said
  693. 41:01but the mission nation has become the mission field. And he says it would a bit of lament in grief in
  694. 41:08which, I mean, Ray Charles can see that he ain't lying, you know, we can see that that is the case.
  695. 41:14But much of the broad, natural, national perception is one thing about America kind of turning away from the Lord.
  696. 41:22But I'm, I know that is true, but I am confronted consistently with people who are hungering for the truth.
  697. 41:29Like for example, one of the most consistent questions I'm asked, as I travel, speaking different places, is,
  698. 41:33where can I find a good Bible teaching church? That's one of the most consistent questions I'm asked.
  699. 41:38Is that something that you've experienced?
  700. 41:39We get a lot of calls from people want to know what church I recommend.
  701. 41:44Well, that's a dangerous question for us to answer because there's so many out there, you know.
  702. 41:49But let me flip that and say we get probably 25-30 calls a week for help.
  703. 41:58Do you know what the number one and the number two question is from people who call for help?
  704. 42:02Number one is, is there really a God? And number two is heaven real.
  705. 42:09Now think about that. So what are we saying if they don't believe there really is a God?
  706. 42:16Are we just preaching opinions? So they're coming down to the basics of life. Is there
  707. 42:24really a God? Does he really love people? Do you think he can really love me? And is
  708. 42:31heaven real or is it just something in a book or is it just something in a postcard or
  709. 42:35in a holiday card is heaven real.
  710. 42:38So what that tells me is the world is so cluttered
  711. 42:41with so much junk that people are thinking about eternity.
  712. 42:46They realize that this is not it,
  713. 42:47they realize this is limited,
  714. 42:49they realize this will come to an end.
  715. 42:52And they're thinking eternally,
  716. 42:53are we there with the eternal answer?
  717. 42:56The Lord tells us in His Word in the book of Ecclesiastes
  718. 42:59that He said eternity in the hearts of men,
  719. 43:01but what few can know it.
  720. 43:02And so I see that we have two things really working in favor of the advancement of God's
  721. 43:07kingdom to the proclamation of the gospel and disciple making.
  722. 43:10And that is one that he has set eternity in the hearts of men.
  723. 43:14That is an inescapable reality.
  724. 43:16Mankind, people know deep down in the core of who they are that we're created for more
  725. 43:21than we can touch, tasty and feed.
  726. 43:23There's something that we're made for that is beyond our temporal senses.
  727. 43:28And then in addition to that, we have the unfortunate reality.
  728. 43:31I said this early, earlier, the unfortunate reality that ideas have consequences and bad
  729. 43:35ideas create casualties.
  730. 43:37There are people who have tried the forbidden fruit, so to speak, of all of the things that
  731. 43:41the world has to offer and that they still come up wanting, realizing when surely there has
  732. 43:46to be more than this.
  733. 43:47There's a reason why, in terms of suicide, unfortunately, that it happens far more frequently
  734. 43:51in our country than it does to people who are impoverished because of that reality.
  735. 43:58And you also mentioned that there's a palpable biblical illiteracy in our country.
  736. 44:03All those things kind of converge to lead to the kind of questions that you get.
  737. 44:09What needs to happen, brother Perry, in order for the body of Christ to be ready to answer
  738. 44:13that in our national context?
  739. 44:17This answer is too simple to believe.
  740. 44:20Okay.
  741. 44:22We lost it when we did away with Sunday school.
  742. 44:27George Barner will tell you, when the churches went to Bible teaching, which is not bad,
  743. 44:34but primarily Bible teaching, and then knows Sunday school, and then usually on Wednesday
  744. 44:42night it was turned into something else.
  745. 44:44When Sunday school was slowly removed from the American church, there went the catechism
  746. 44:51of the basics of our faith in the teaching of young people.
  747. 44:57They don't know what the Trinity is.
  748. 44:59They don't know what the Godhead is.
  749. 45:02They don't have any eternal perspective.
  750. 45:04They don't seek God as the Creator of all things in the Givron's sustainer of all life.
  751. 45:10Where are they going to get it?
  752. 45:11I mean, there's only so much you can get out of the book of Acts.
  753. 45:13They'll give you the wrong, it's a great book.
  754. 45:16But where they taught the fundamentals of the faith.
  755. 45:20And you mentioned, you said they lost it and you get into a place that's attuned that I
  756. 45:24I would say we forfeited it because when you search the scriptures and I talk about this
  757. 45:31a lot, who is it that the Lord commands to execute the catacizing and the discipling of
  758. 45:39the children going to the Christian families?
  759. 45:41It's the parents.
  760. 45:43So I see my brother sitting here that, and this is a whole other program, but when we
  761. 45:49suffered the broadside against God's design for marriage, the demonic plot was not only
  762. 45:56to disintegrate the Lord's institution, it also was a broadside attack against the primary
  763. 46:02institution that is the first institution that God created with the express assignment and
  764. 46:06delegated command to execute the discipleship and the catacizing of the generations of children,
  765. 46:13which is the family.
  766. 46:15So if you're able to destroy the Lord's institution, the only human institution that God established
  767. 46:20to illustrate his relationship with his bride, the church, which is marriage,
  768. 46:25use simultaneously, decimate the primary institution that God established to
  769. 46:31inculcate Christ following multi-generationalism. Okay, so you're absolutely right. So take this.
  770. 46:37We're now generation number four on the scene without Sunday school. So if you
  771. 46:43weren't taught that message, your children never would talk to their
  772. 46:47children, never would be taught the basics of their children.
  773. 46:50Now, if the parents weren't taught the fundamentals, how are they going to pick that up in their
  774. 46:56own home and teach it?
  775. 46:58If it's not a conviction.
  776. 46:59You know what I'm saying?
  777. 47:00Yes.
  778. 47:01It's so easy to point our fingers at ourselves, but we have to point the fingers at ourselves.
  779. 47:04Yes.
  780. 47:05Because the world is now white and ripe under harvest.
  781. 47:10And if we're just going to give them our opinion, that's not eternal.
  782. 47:14That's not eternal.
  783. 47:16We have gotten to where we are in our nation, and this is a sad, but true reality.
  784. 47:21disciple our way into it by a combination of affirmative action taken but also by
  785. 47:25negligent actions or refusing to implement what God has called us to and
  786. 47:30here's the other side of that there's only one way out repentance and
  787. 47:35discipling our way out is the only way out there's no other way there's not a
  788. 47:39quick fix there's not a overnight scheme there's only way but by God's grace by
  789. 47:44God's grace and this is what we must refuse to factor out of our calculus we
  790. 47:50We serve an omnipotent God.
  791. 47:53We serve an all-powerful God.
  792. 47:56It is inestible what can be done if the Lord's people were surrendered to Him in repentance,
  793. 48:04faith, with a resolve.
  794. 48:05Not just a commitment, a resolve to obey Him.
  795. 48:08Come with me.
  796. 48:09So, you need to take me on the road with you because I know how to spark the preaching
  797. 48:13you.
