  10. 0:29And now the Hamilton Corner.
  11. 0:33Good evening, everyone.
  12. 0:34Welcome to the Hamilton Corner.
  13. 0:36My name is Abraham Hamilton.
  14. 0:37The third I am the host of this program.
  15. 0:40I'm joined by the corner contingent right across from me on the board.
  16. 0:45Today is our friendly neighborhood,
  17. 0:47Woodaholic perpetually in recovery, none other than Mr. Marty Sparks.
  18. 0:53And we are also joined by produce extraordinaire often imitated,
  19. 0:56never duplicated.
  20. 0:57the real Jay Mac is in the screening room where we are ready to rock and roll with today's edition
  21. 1:02of the program at this very moment. Many of you, if not, most of you are making your transition from
  22. 1:07your part-time jobs where you generate an income to your full-time jobs where you cultivate an outcome
  23. 1:12or through which you cultivate an outcome. And as you do so, I want to remind you to do so with
  24. 1:18intentionality, understanding the primacy that God places on family and welcoming his view to inform
  25. 1:25form your own view in engaging in life and your families from that perspective.
  26. 1:35We do this daily in an effort to recalibrate our thoughts in describing what we do to generate
  27. 1:40revenue and income as a part-time investment.
  28. 1:43When our full-time investment is to cultivate an outcome simply because the reality is what
  29. 1:49goes on in your house is far more important than what goes on in the White House.
  30. 1:53lots of very important things that are going on in the White House.
  31. 1:57For example, what's happening in Venezuela right now, the seizing of the oil tanker yesterday.
  32. 2:04I know a lot of people are confused.
  33. 2:05The simple reality is that the Trump administration has made a concerted effort really to send
  34. 2:10messages in working toward a triangulation, if you will, against China, because the tanker
  35. 2:17is one that is used by Venezuela to kind of traffic oil from Iran and other places all
  36. 2:25the way to Asia and things of that nature.
  37. 2:27And so it's very, very, very interesting what's happening, but none of those things are more
  38. 2:33important to what goes on in your house, primarily because you and I are directly accountable.
  39. 2:40We are directly responsible for what we do.
  40. 2:45One of the most important things that we do and what we can do is within our families.
  41. 2:52The Great Commission requires every Christ follower to be engaged in making disciples.
  42. 2:58When I say outcome cultivation, I am referring specifically to disciple making.
  43. 3:04That discharge of obedience must, must, start in our homes.
  44. 3:12We cannot afford to step past the people in our homes in an effort to win the world.
  45. 3:21The primary vehicle that God has established for generational disciple-making is the family.
  46. 3:28It is the family.
  47. 3:31We will never be able to out-politik the deficiencies that abound in the home.
  48. 3:35These are the types of things that John Adams and George Washington tried to warn us about,
  49. 3:40that we have a governing structure in our constitutional, Republican form of government.
  50. 3:44In order for that form of government to be, to persist and to thrive, it requires a particular
  51. 3:51type of populace.
  52. 3:53Hence, the description of a religious people, of a moral people, both presidents, John Adams
  53. 4:01and George Washington, were clearly referring to a morality that flows from Christ followers.
  54. 4:08And so as we are engaging, and I'm endeavoring to point this out with consistency, because
  55. 4:15we have lots of people that are involved, for example, in government engagement and in political
  56. 4:21engagement, and those things are vitally important.
  57. 4:22I'm engaged in all of those things as well.
  58. 4:24But we don't have enough people participating in the hard work, the often thankless work
  59. 4:33of making disciples.
  60. 4:35And as the Lord has established it, the primary way that this should transpire is in the home.
  61. 4:44The Scriptures are explicit in explaining that.
  62. 4:47Parents are primarily responsible for the evangelism and the catacizing and the discipling
  63. 4:52of our own children.
  64. 4:55The church's role is supportive and secondary in that regard.
  65. 4:59The role that the church plays is to equip the saints to help prepare parents, to sharpen
  66. 5:04parents to do this work, and grandparents, and great-grandparents.
  67. 5:08We need all hands on deck.
  68. 5:10So as you are making your transition to your full time jobs, please do so with intentionality.
  69. 5:15Recognize the significance of what it is that you get to do.
  70. 5:19And while it is day, let us work because the time is coming when no man will be able to
  71. 5:25work any further.
  72. 5:26All right.
  73. 5:27To the word of God, we go Psalm 127 is where we're going to go.
  74. 5:29This is a Psalm of a sense written by Solomon.
  75. 5:33It's important to note that the context in which Solomon is writing is toward the end
  76. 5:41of David's reign.
  77. 5:44Well, actually David's reign is concluded in Solomon is ascending to the throne in Israel
  78. 5:49with the mandate to construct the Lord's temple.
  79. 5:52All right, this is the context that this Psalm is written in.
  80. 5:56And this is what God's word says, unless the Lord builds the house, see, it makes far more
  81. 6:01The central you recognize Solomon is tasked with constructing the temple when he's pinning
  82. 6:05this song.
  83. 6:06Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.
  84. 6:11Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain.
  85. 6:16It is vain for you to rise up early to retire late, to eat the bread of painful labors, or
  86. 6:23some translations render that phrase, anxious toil, where he gives to his beloved sleep, or
  87. 6:32even in his sleep, behold children are a gift of the Lord. The fruit of the womb is a reward.
  88. 6:47Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth. How blessed is the man
  89. 6:53whose quiver is full of them. They will not be ashamed when they contend or or any SB 95 which I'm
  90. 7:02I'm using today when they speak with their enemies in the gate.
  91. 7:07All right, this is described of a psalm of a sense,
  92. 7:12which is indicative of a psalm that calls to mind devotion to Yahweh.
  93. 7:20But it also talks about faithfulness in everyday life,
  94. 7:26as well as vitality and corporate worship.
  95. 7:29And even as you are preparing to gather corporately for worship,
  96. 7:33there is a heart disposition and a heart condition
  97. 7:37that should precede the gathering,
  98. 7:39which is why the gathering is supposed to be
  99. 7:40a gathering of worshipers.
  100. 7:43In the New Testament context,
  101. 7:44this is what ecclesia is,
  102. 7:46is a gathering of worshipers
  103. 7:48in which we are called to do corporately together
  104. 7:52what the expectation is that we are doing
  105. 7:54prior to the corporate gathering.
  106. 7:57All right.
  107. 7:58So then as I said, considering that Solomon
  108. 8:01is writing this Psalm as David's reign,
  109. 8:03on the Israelite throne as concluded,
  110. 8:05Solomon is ascending to the throne
  111. 8:06with the mandate to build the Lord's temple.
  112. 8:08And he begins this song by saying,
  113. 8:09unless the Lord builds the house,
  114. 8:11they labor in vain who build it.
  115. 8:14Unless the Lord guards the city,
  116. 8:15the watchmen keeps awake in vain.
  117. 8:17There's a diligence that is required,
  118. 8:20but the diligence is neither agreed or selfish ambition.
  119. 8:24It's also, it is not restless anxiety.
  120. 8:29You know, it's a common phrase that's used in our culture
  121. 8:32to burn the candle on both ends.
  122. 8:34And I understand what people mean by that,
  123. 8:36but we need to be diligent to ensure that we understand what our engagement is,
  124. 8:42that we're not sacrificing something really that God has provided for us.
  125. 8:47And we say it this way, it's a reason why God ordained the day of rest.
  126. 8:51There's a reason for that.
  127. 8:53One of the reasons is that the day of rest requires those who are resting to
  128. 8:58place their confidence in the Lord, to say, Lord, that we will be diligent in the
  129. 9:02days that you've allowed us to work.
  130. 9:03And on the day that we are to rest, we place our confidence in you, that even though I could
  131. 9:09be doing additional tasks, obeying you is far more fruitful than what I may envision as task
  132. 9:18discharging. This is what Sodom and His communicating. Unless the Lord wants the city,
  133. 9:25guards the city, the watchman keeps awake and vain. If you are laborious, but you are striving
  134. 9:33against God's good design, striving against God's clear instructions, striving against
  135. 9:41God's will, the striver is striving in vain.
  136. 9:49Then Solomon transitions in the Psalm and it seems like it's disconnected but it actually
  137. 9:55is connected because the same type of diligence that is articulated in verses 1 and 2 is turned
  138. 10:02toward the family. In verse 3, behold, children are a gift of the Lord. We talked,
  139. 10:08I believe this was yesterday, we were talking about how God rewarded the midwives in Egypt,
  140. 10:14Shippur and Purah following their refusal, let me say it this way, following their righteous obedience
  141. 10:22to Yahweh in which they refused to embrace the wicked Pharaoh's murderous decree.
  142. 10:28The scripture explains that God rewarded them with families, which completely contradicts
  143. 10:38the position of many people today.
  144. 10:39I mean, I played on the air the statements made by Afton Ben who ran for Congress and the
  145. 10:46natural area, and especially election last week.
  146. 10:49Thank you again, Nash Viliens, for keeping this woman away from Congress.
  147. 10:51But you say, I don't want children.
  148. 10:54I want power.
  149. 10:55I don't want children.
  150. 10:58I want power.
  151. 11:00I share with you the book that's directed towards targeting five to eight year olds to make them
  152. 11:06comfortable with the premeditated and intentional slaughter of innocent unborn children, preborn
  153. 11:11children, which they call abortion.
  154. 11:14Trying to normalize this with five to eight year olds.
  155. 11:19The culture that we live in screams, children are a burden, children are a hindrance, children
  156. 11:26are an impediment to your life's dreams, to you fulfilling what you want to be in life.
  157. 11:32What does the word of God say?
  158. 11:35What does God say to us in His word?
  159. 11:37Children are a gift of the Lord.
  160. 11:40Shifra and Purah were rewarded with families of their own.
  161. 11:45As they refused to murder other people's children, God rewarded them with their own families and
  162. 11:51children.
  163. 11:54The fruit of the womb is a reward.
  164. 11:57It's a reward.
  165. 12:00This is one of the reasons why I object to the assertion of,
  166. 12:05well, you're an advocate for traditional families.
  167. 12:07No, no, no.
  168. 12:08It's not about tradition, it's about truth.
  169. 12:10It's about truth.
  170. 12:11What is true?
  171. 12:13Children are a gift of the Lord in Solomon's Day.
  172. 12:16Children are a gift of the Lord in Adam's Day.
  173. 12:18Children are a gift from the Lord in the 21st century.
  174. 12:25Then Solomon employs the simile.
  175. 12:28Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
  176. 12:30so are the children of one's youth.
  177. 12:34I've explained repeatedly that God uses this simile intentionally through Solomon, that the
  178. 12:40arrow is an instrument that is created with the capacity to accomplish the purpose for which
  179. 12:45it has been created, however, in order for that arrow to be effective, that arrow must
  180. 12:52have and must be equipped with the trajectory and direction.
  181. 12:58God has ordained the Christian parents, the husband and the wife to provide the trajectory
  182. 13:05and direction for the arrows that God entrusts our care.
  183. 13:09To say it differently, it is not God's will for the children born into Christian families
  184. 13:15to fend for themselves spiritually.
  185. 13:18That God has given parents to these children to provide that trajectory and that direction.
  186. 13:26There's five, how blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.
  187. 13:29You think God thinks children are a burden?
  188. 13:35No.
  189. 13:36Now I want to be clear about something else.
  190. 13:38The quiver is determined by God's divine providence.
  191. 13:44That's not an occasion for anybody to boast.
  192. 13:45I've been to situations where people boast about their family size.
  193. 13:48Oh, a lot of those many children.
  194. 13:49Therefore, I'm a better person.
  195. 13:51Therefore, I am more spiritual.
  196. 13:52Therefore, I'm more pious.
  197. 13:53And that's not something to boast in.
  198. 13:54It's by God sovereign grace that you've been blessed with the quantity that you have.
  199. 13:58are some circumstances where because of the fallenness and sickness and all kind of other
  200. 14:03things that decay that sets in, sometimes people don't have the opportunity or the ability to
  201. 14:09reproduce the way the others do.
  202. 14:11The point is not to try to use a gift of God as a basis for pride, but also only we need
  203. 14:17to be honest.
  204. 14:19Have we adopted an antichrist world view, a secular, godless hostility towards children?
  205. 14:27Are we allowing a worldly paradigm to govern our perception of do we truly believe?
  206. 14:34Children are a blessing or do we believe?
  207. 14:37Children are a burden.
  208. 14:38And verse 5 concludes, how blessed is the man who is full of them?
  209. 14:42They shall not be ashamed when they contend or speak with their enemies in the gate.
  210. 14:46What started with an individual warrior concludes with an expanded battalion.
  211. 14:50The individual warrior is enjoined shoulder to shoulder with his arrows as contenders for
  212. 14:56the faith.
  213. 14:57God's vision.
  214. 14:58A discipleship minute with Joseph Parker.
  215. 15:03What exactly does the Bible say about life, standing for life and the abortion issue?
  216. 15:08Deuteronomy 30 verses 19 and 20.
  217. 15:11I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have said before you life and
  218. 15:16death, blessing and curse.
  219. 15:18Therefore choose life that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying
  220. 15:23his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days.
  221. 15:29That you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac,
  222. 15:34and to Jacob, to give them."
  223. 15:37Proverbs 24 verse 12 tells us,
  224. 15:40"...rescue those who are being taken away to death.
  225. 15:42Hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.
  226. 15:46If you say, behold, we did not know this.
  227. 15:50Does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
  228. 15:52Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it?
  229. 15:55And will he not repay man according to his work?
  230. 16:05Shining light into the darkness,
  231. 16:07this is the Hamilton Corner, an American family radio.
  232. 16:11Welcome back to the Hamilton Corner, Abraham Hamilton
  233. 16:13the third here, you know,
  234. 16:15and the point I was making before,
  235. 16:17it's amazing when I'm out and about with my family.
  236. 16:19People look at me like I'm crazy, you know,
  237. 16:21what they think, oh my God, oh, oh, he's insane.
  238. 16:26all those children. It's like, man, children are a gift, they're a blessing.
  239. 16:30But I think what most people expect is when you're encountered in public, like, go to a
  240. 16:38restaurant room one time, actually recently, we're out and they were like, oh, wow, you brought
  241. 16:43all of these children to a restaurant. And I think they were anticipating a lack of discipline
  242. 16:48is what I think they were anticipating. So they were surprised after the fact. Anyway,
  243. 16:53move on. I am delighted to have on the program with me a colleague here at American Family
  244. 16:58Association. I'm speaking of none other than the associate director for the AFA Foundation.
  245. 17:05She's also the wife of 12 years with AFA Vice President Wesley Wildman. And Wesley and
  246. 17:14my guests who I haven't said her name yet, intentionally, they have three children. My
  247. 17:18guest enjoys working with AFA and AFR supporters and says her favorite part of our position
  248. 17:23is hearing how God has worked in the lives of our supporters. Please join me in welcoming
  249. 17:28to the program. The Associate Director of the AFA Foundation misses Chelsea Wildman. Chelsea,
  250. 17:34thank you for joining me here on the program this evening. Thank you so much for having
  251. 17:38the aid. It is my pleasure to have you on for those who may be new to the program and may not be
  252. 17:45aware of what the AFA Foundation is. Would you please explain what is the AFA Foundation?
  253. 17:53Absolutely, so we seek to help our donors sow seeds into our ministry for generations
  254. 18:02to come.
  255. 18:03So we are per se the financial stewardship branch of the ministry.
  256. 18:08So we have many different offerings in the AFA foundation.
  257. 18:11We have our charitable gift annuity, which I'll explain in just a moment.
  258. 18:17are able to provide wills examples for donors who might not have a will set up yet to save
  259. 18:24them on some costs and time with their attorneys.
  260. 18:28And then we also help with any bequests that folks might want to leave for American Family
  261. 18:35Association.
  262. 18:36So there are many different ways that we help our donors and our friends and our AFA and
  263. 18:42AFR family, so feeds into the ministry.
  264. 18:46Let me start with the bequest because people may not be aware that this is something that's
  265. 18:50available and this is something that I've encountered in working from the legal department
  266. 18:54with the AFA Foundation when you refer to bequest, what are bequest?
  267. 18:59Yes.
  268. 19:01So any type of account that you have, it may be a life insurance policy, possibly a savings
  269. 19:11account, a CD, a mutual fund, even a piece of land possibly.
  270. 19:17They can list American Family Association as the beneficiary of that account and it will
  271. 19:23benefit ASA upon their passing.
  272. 19:28Now is this something already alluded to it?
  273. 19:31This would be something that people who may be looking to provide generational material
  274. 19:37support looking forward, kind of even planning for their resources to even be a benefit to
  275. 19:44God's kingdom long after they may no longer be here.
  276. 19:48Is that something that has happened that you've seen in working in the foundation?
  277. 19:53People do support us and listen just to provide?
  278. 19:55Oh absolutely.
  279. 19:58Many times we are unaware of gifts and bequest and accounts listed as American Family Association
  280. 20:07as a beneficiary and those are always such a surprised blessing for the AFA Foundation
  281. 20:14and in turn for the Ministry of AFA and AFR.
  282. 20:18We have many times gotten paperwork in the mail and stated you are a beneficiary of
  283. 20:24this account and this person wanted to bless your ministry upon their passing and that
  284. 20:31really does just we're so thankful for those gifts and so thankful that our family and friends
  285. 20:39and listeners would think enough of our ministry to list us in their estate planning.
  286. 20:46So it really is a blessing to AFA and AFR.
  287. 20:48So that will be a feature of estate planning.
  288. 20:50Yes, yes.
  289. 20:53Absolutely.
  290. 20:54Go ahead, go ahead.
  291. 20:56I was going to say just our most common way that folks do so feeds into the ministry,
  292. 21:03absolutely bequest and stocks donations, outright giving toward the end of the year is always
  293. 21:10on the top of people's minds, hey, how can I get a great tax deduction as well as help
  294. 21:17a ministry and a cause that I'm passionate about?
  295. 21:20We love speaking to people about those different ways that can also help and benefit them.
  296. 21:26Actually, I was just speaking with someone earlier in the day that said,
  297. 21:30actually I sold some stock and I've got a large capital gains tax.
  298. 21:35And I'm just staring at that thinking, oh, how can I alleviate some of this tax burden?
  299. 21:40And actually, a charitable gift annuity is a wonderful way.
  300. 21:44you can actually fund a charitable gift annuity through cash or stock, mutual funds, etc.,
  301. 21:51but you can transfer that stock. So I explained that to that gentleman.
  302. 21:55So he had already moved forward with selling this stock.
  303. 22:01So he is actually going to utilize a cash gift so that he can get a great tax benefit
  304. 22:08to help with some of those capital gains.
  305. 22:10Now, I'm glad you mentioned the charitable gift annuity or the CGA.
  306. 22:15What is a charitable gift annuity?
  307. 22:18Yes.
  308. 22:19So a charitable gift annuity is giving a gift any amount $2,000 or above to AFA.
  309. 22:29And in exchange, that person would receive a fixed income for the rest of their life.
  310. 22:35And that percentage that they are paid upon their gift is dependent on how old they are
  311. 22:41at the time that they give the gift as well as when they start to receive that income payment
  312. 22:47being paid to them.
  313. 22:48So the sooner that you put it in place and any amount of time that you wait to receive
  314. 22:53that income, it's going to be a higher percentage for them.
  315. 22:57And there are some wonderful, as I've just mentioned, tax benefits for ACGA.
  316. 23:01not only are you getting a lifetime income that's not going to go up or down with the stock market,
  317. 23:06it's going to be a stable fixed percentage for the rest of your life.
  318. 23:09But you also receive a partial tax deduction as well as partial tax-free income when those payments
  319. 23:17start to come in. And then upon your passing, any remaining funds are then given to AFA and AFR
  320. 23:25to continue our ministries work for the Lord.
  321. 23:27Now you mentioned when a person or an annuitant would start to receive their income from the annuity.
  322. 23:34Are there some parameters that might say, hey, I want to start a CGA, but I am, let's say hypothetically, I am, you know, 60 years old.
  323. 23:43I don't want to start receiving revenue until I'm 65. Is that something that is done?
  324. 23:48Yes, absolutely. That is a deferred gift annuity option.
  325. 23:53So that deferment, they are actually given the chance to say, unlike other retirement accounts,
  326. 24:00you're given the chance to say, this is when I want to start receiving that income.
  327. 24:04So they get to pick that date. We also have a flexible gift annuity, and it's deferred at least
  328. 24:12a year or more. But you get to pick a span between five and ten years down the road to start receiving
  329. 24:19that income. And if you don't need it in that next year, let that sit. Let that percentage
  330. 24:25grow for you. And so that it would be a higher percentage later on down the road. So for
  331. 24:30folks who know, I definitely want to receive this at 65, that's a deferred gift annuity.
  332. 24:36For folks who might not know when they want to receive those payments, that would be
  333. 24:41a great flexible option. And then we also have an immediate option where they as soon
  334. 24:46as the next month can receive income from their gift.
  335. 24:50And you said that the annuity, the CGA will allow them to receive that income for the remainder
  336. 24:55of their lives, that the same fixed amount monthly for the remainder of their lives.
  337. 25:01Absolutely, yes.
  338. 25:02And that is a one-life gift annuity and a two-life gift annuity would include usually,
  339. 25:09usually, not always, but usually a spouse.
  340. 25:12So that would be for the surviving spouse, that amount continues until they're passing
  341. 25:19as well.
  342. 25:20So it does cover two lives.
  343. 25:22Wow.
  344. 25:23Now you mentioned requests.
  345. 25:24We haven't talked about wills as much just yet.
  346. 25:28But I want to be clear.
  347. 25:29When people call, does the foundation offer legal advice on these?
  348. 25:33It matters?
  349. 25:34No, no, we do not give legal advice.
  350. 25:37We are not financial planners.
  351. 25:39We are trained and our specialty is the charitable gift annuity.
  352. 25:43So we will not be giving legal or tax advice, but we can certainly point you to some folks
  353. 25:48that can help you in that area.
  354. 25:50Okay.
  355. 25:51But if someone is listening and they say, hey, man, I heard about the guy who sold him stock,
  356. 25:55yet he was facing a capital gains tax hike.
  357. 25:59And you were able to help walk him through how he could maybe make a donation to help shield
  358. 26:03or alleviate some of that tax burden.
  359. 26:05If someone wanted to get more information about any one of the things you've mentioned,
  360. 26:09requests, wheels or the spectrum that you just referred to, CGA, how could they contact you?
  361. 26:16Yes, 1-800-326-4543, extension 345, I'll give that once more, 1-800-326-4543, extension 345,
  362. 26:32or they can find us on our website, asafoundation.net.
  363. 26:39And it answers a lot of questions there as well.
  364. 26:41That's so good.
  365. 26:42That's so good.
  366. 26:43Thank you for sharing that information.
  367. 26:44Now, when you mentioned the wills, certainly that is connected to the quests.
  368. 26:51And we hadn't talked about that as much.
  369. 26:54What if anything would you like to share with the listeners and viewers now concerning the
  370. 26:58wills as you mentioned, one of the three things you mentioned initially?
  371. 27:02Yes.
  372. 27:03We have a Will's Guide that we can email or mail for anyone who is interested and they
  373. 27:10would fill that out and take it to their attorney and their attorney would then take
  374. 27:16those wishes.
  375. 27:17It basically saves time, effort and legal dollars in putting their will in place because
  376. 27:24everything is right there for that attorney to take and then create their will.
  377. 27:29So that's a service that's also available through the foundation you said's available via email or through
  378. 27:35Traditional conventional mail that they can receive that guide, right?
  379. 27:39Yes, absolutely. They can request that you can also send us an email
  380. 27:44foundation at
  381. 27:47AFA.net if you would like to request that will guide
  382. 27:51Okay foundation at AFA.net is the email now you shared the phone number 1 800 3 264 5 4 3 extension
  383. 27:58three four five you know we we live in the air unfortunately
  384. 28:02what customer service in many air industries have been outsourced
  385. 28:06internationally i'll just say that way
  386. 28:08when people call one eight hundred three two six four five four three extension
  387. 28:12extension three four five
  388. 28:14who should they expect to talk to you
  389. 28:16absolutely so they will speak with myself
  390. 28:19chelsea
  391. 28:20um... riley actually is my sister-in-law as well as the
  392. 28:25foundation director
  393. 28:27Jessica, so she is our administrative assistant and is wonderful at getting folks to the right
  394. 28:33place, whether that be Riley or myself, to speak about their situation.
  395. 28:38So they will speak with one of us, definitely not Alsourston.
  396. 28:43All right.
  397. 28:44All right.
  398. 28:45One more time.
  399. 28:46Would you please just share the contact information, website, phone numbers, and anything else
  400. 28:51you want to make sure we share that I may have not asked a question about just yet?
  401. 28:56Yes, absolutely. So a couple of the deadlines that I do want to speak on really quickly.
  402. 29:01Oh, yes. Thank you.
  403. 29:02If anyone is interested in gifting their QCD also to help alleviate some of their taxes,
  404. 29:12that would be we ask that folks go ahead and start initiating those transfers now. Those
  405. 29:18brokerage companies get inundated toward the end of the year. So we just want to put that
  406. 29:22on the top of people's minds to go ahead and start that transaction.
  407. 29:27So that's for a QCD or an IRA gift.
  408. 29:30We have an outright stock donation that they can start to initiate as well.
  409. 29:37December 15th, we ask that usually around that time they will have initiated that gift.
  410. 29:43And for any cash or charitable gift annuity options,
  411. 29:47then that is more toward the end of the month.
  412. 29:50December 31st is when everything needs to be postmarked so that it can count for this 2025 tax year.
  413. 29:58That's so good to know because the deadlines could creep up on people and we're in, you know,
  414. 30:04the Christmas season and so this is something you'd want to attend to. For those who may not be aware,
  415. 30:10you refer to the acronym QCD. What is a QCD and would you just run us through those deadlines one
  416. 30:15for more time please.
  417. 30:16Yes, yes, a QCD is a qualified charitable distribution from an IRA account from a traditional retirement
  418. 30:26account.
  419. 30:27And again, that QCD transfer deadline, we ask that you go ahead and take care of that
  420. 30:32request this week.
  421. 30:34Any stock donations for an outright gift or to be used for a charitable gift annuity, we
  422. 30:41We ask around December 15th to initiate that and as well as cash, gifts or charitable gift
  423. 30:47annuities, we need those in by December 31st.
  424. 30:52Excellent.
  425. 30:53And so finally, the contact information for those who are listening in there, they're stirred
  426. 30:56by hearing these options.
  427. 30:59I mean, the prospect of being able to plan prospectively how stewardship can be an impact
  428. 31:05for King the work of God's kingdom long into the future.
  429. 31:10How can people get in contact with you?
  430. 31:12Yes.
  431. 31:13To sow their seeds into our ministry and to impact for future generations, you can reach
  432. 31:18us at 1-800-326-4543, extension 345, or visit us online at aafoundation.net.

  434. 31:37Jeff, would you please make sure that contact information is in the show notes and guys, those
  435. 31:43who are listening, this may be appealing to you.
  436. 31:45Do not hesitate.
  437. 31:46The AFA Foundation is always responsive.
  438. 31:50As Chelsea just mentioned, when you call, we won't have an outsourced customer service.
  439. 31:55You're going to get her, Riley or Jessica in the AFA Foundation, and they are always
  440. 31:59so eager and willing to help.
  441. 32:01Thank you so much for joining me on the show here today, Chelsea.
  442. 32:04Thank you so much for having me.
  443. 32:05All right.
  444. 32:06When we come back from the break more from the Hamilton corner,
  445. 32:10I guess this will be a teaser.
  446. 32:13What do you do when your part time job clashes with your full time job?

  454. 32:42You don't want to miss the remainder of this show.
  455. 32:44Some of you guys have been asking me questions.
  456. 32:49Well, you might get some answers after this break.
  457. 33:00AFA action takes attacks on the family seriously.
  458. 33:04The enemies of the family constantly employ new tactics to try to sneak past our radar.
  459. 33:09They know if we stand together their evil plans will fail.
  460. 33:12Your gift to AFA Action allows us to stay vigilant against their onslaught.
  461. 33:17And if you give this month, you'll receive access to the Cultural Institute video when
  462. 33:21your faith is illegal by Frank Harbor on AFA Stream as our thanks.

  468. 33:43is our duty.
  469. 33:44For too long, the pulpits of America have been silent on the important issues, such as marriage
  470. 33:49and family and assault on learnability.

  473. 34:00Christmas Distraction.
  474. 34:02This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian World View.
  475. 34:06It's remarkable to observe just how little all the hubbub leading to Christmas reflects
  476. 34:11the reason for the season.
  477. 34:13Blow up Santa's Adorn Yards, ubiquitous ads entice purchasing endless things, and background
  478. 34:19music and stores croons about frosty and jingle bells.
  479. 34:23The truth is, the God of this world has successfully distracted society from focusing on the Christ
  480. 34:29of Christmas.
  481. 34:30Don't be drawn in Christian.
  482. 34:32Brother, focus on the main thing.
  483. 34:34God has sent his only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.
  484. 34:40Here are most recent programs with Grant Castleberry, pastor and author of Manger in Danger, a Christmas
  485. 34:45devotional for families at TheChristianWorldView.org and then tune in this weekend for another
  486. 34:50topic that will sharpen your worldview.
  487. 34:53to the Christian worldview with David Wheaton,

  489. 35:04The Hamilton Corner Podcast and One-Bitted Common Terrors
  490. 35:07are available at afr.net.
  491. 35:10Back to the Hamilton Corner on American Family Radio.
  492. 35:14Welcome back to the Hamilton Corner, Abraham Hamilton
  493. 35:17the third here and I guess I should say the Hamletons
  494. 35:21Corner now because my full time job
  495. 35:25is joining me during my part time job.
  496. 35:27So if you're watching the show,
  497. 35:30you'll be able to see to my right is my lovely wife,
  498. 35:32but she's holding our youngest son, David.
  499. 35:36David, you wanna say hello?
  500. 35:38What?
  501. 35:39You wanna say hello again?
  502. 35:41Say it clearly?
  503. 35:43That is David, our youngest, and then to his right.
  504. 35:47Hello.
  505. 35:48You have, and what's your name?
  506. 35:50Danny.
  507. 35:51Danny, Daniel, and so for those who've been watching
  508. 35:53for the longest, they've seen pictures of you
  509. 35:55would not want with your face because that's Spider-Man.
  510. 35:59Please stop.
  511. 36:02Spider is growing up into my left.
  512. 36:06Yes, right here.
  513. 36:07There's it right here.
  514. 36:08Yes, until my left, we have Spider-Man's older brother, Gabriel.
  515. 36:14Yes, hello, I am Iron Man.
  516. 36:18He likes Iron Man.
  517. 36:20You are Iron Man.
  518. 36:21When did you become Iron Man?
  519. 36:22That's Brandon.
  520. 36:22This is my birth.
  521. 36:24Since you're birth.
  522. 36:25He likes Iron Man.
  523. 36:27Yeah, Iron Hulk.
  524. 36:29You're Iron Hulk?
  525. 36:31Yeah, he's Hulk.
  526. 36:32He's the Hulk.
  527. 36:33You're the Hulk.
  528. 36:34I'm sorry.
  529. 36:35You're the Hulk.
  530. 36:36I've read he had some.
  531. 36:37Those are our favorite superheroes.
  532. 36:39Okay, very cool.
  533. 36:40So, this is what I was telling Gabriel to bring him to the studio with me.
  534. 36:44He was saying, oh yes.
  535. 36:46I get to be on.
  536. 36:48So we've been able to take a break from our normal routine.
  537. 36:54routines and I've invited them to join me here in studio.
  538. 36:58And so I want to ask you boys a question and I want you to think about it before you answer.
  539. 37:02All right.
  540. 37:03Okay.
  541. 37:04All right.
  542. 37:04So you know we just came to the Thanksgiving season and we're in the Christmas season.
  543. 37:11What is, I'm going to ask you both this question.
  544. 37:13I'll start with Daniel.
  545. 37:15What is one thing, think about it before you answer that.
  546. 37:17Okay.
  547. 37:18What is one thing that you are grateful for?
  548. 37:20Earth.
  549. 37:21Earth.
  550. 37:22What about the earth?
  551. 37:23What is it about the earth that you are grateful for?
  552. 37:26Air.
  553. 37:27What about air?
  554. 37:28You have more than one word?
  555. 37:30So that we can breathe.
  556. 37:31So that we can breathe?
  557. 37:32Okay.
  558. 37:33That's good stuff.
  559. 37:34What about you, Gabe?
  560. 37:35It was one thing that you are grateful for.
  561. 37:37Look at this.
  562. 37:38He's rubbing his chin like he's pondering.
  563. 37:40I'm thinking.
  564. 37:41Hmm.
  565. 37:44Want us to come back to you?
  566. 37:45I have lots of things.
  567. 37:47Yeah.
  568. 37:48Lots of just name one.
  569. 37:49Come on, man.
  570. 37:53This is we're on radio so we can have the pause.
  571. 37:56God.
  572. 37:57God.
  573. 37:58What is it about God? They called you to be great man. Amen. Amen. That is something that is overly
  574. 38:07Overwhelmingly worthy to be grateful for and David you want to say one thing that you're grateful for
  575. 38:20Playing in snow
  576. 38:23Play against those so these are
  577. 38:26My three youngest sons
  578. 38:29This is half of our six pack.
  579. 38:31And for the sake of time,
  580. 38:33I'm gonna have to exchange this crew out
  581. 38:35to get the other half of the six pack in.
  582. 38:37Would you escort them out, babe boys?
  583. 38:39Go ahead and take the headphones off
  584. 38:40and put them right here on the table.
  585. 38:42And I'll get the others in.
  586. 38:46As you all know, Marie and I, we have six children.
  587. 38:49So these are, this is half of our six pack.
  588. 38:53And the others are in.
  589. 38:54And I just wanted to invite them.
  590. 38:57It's amazing that the central word
  591. 38:59in American family radio is family, is family.
  592. 39:04And so I've been talking this week about the gift
  593. 39:08that family is and many of you have been asking me
  594. 39:13about different members of our family as we travel.
  595. 39:16Sometimes we get to meet different people
  596. 39:17and things of that nature.
  597. 39:20And so I'm just grateful to have them in studio with me.
  598. 39:24So yeah, so now we have the next half.
  599. 39:29Yes, guys, we're on the air.
  600. 39:30So just know that we're on the air.
  601. 39:32So right on the far right, we have my youngest daughter.
  602. 39:39So we have four boys and six girls.
  603. 39:42I don't know if she might need some help, Jeff.
  604. 39:43I don't know what's going on with it.
  605. 39:45It's hooked on my chair.
  606. 39:46Okay, yeah, Jeff is gonna help you.
  607. 39:49Thank you.
  608. 39:50While Jeff is helping her, we'll start it.
  609. 39:54I have questions for the other two.
  610. 39:56So to my right is my oldest son,
  611. 39:58My left is my oldest daughter.
  612. 40:00And they've been listening throughout,
  613. 40:03and Jeff maybe put on my,
  614. 40:05they've been listening to the show
  615. 40:06and they listen to the first segment as well.
  616. 40:09And I'll start with you Abby.
  617. 40:12So in the rainbow colored sweater all the way to the right
  618. 40:15is my, my Abigail.
  619. 40:21You know, and so when we were doing
  620. 40:22Family Devotion to the other night
  621. 40:23and I shared with you guys something
  622. 40:25The acts I shared on the radio about this horrible book that's targeting five to eight
  623. 40:32year olds concerning the murder of children.
  624. 40:34And you were particularly moved by that.
  625. 40:36What did you think about that when we talked about that at home, Abby?
  626. 40:38I wanted to burn the book.
  627. 40:39You wanted to burn the book?
  628. 40:40Why?
  629. 40:41It made me so mad that they think they can just kill a real baby child just because they also
  630. 40:49make themselves feel better by saying it's not a baby when it is.
  631. 40:53Because it's murder.
  632. 40:54They know what it is and they know they're wrong so they try to make themselves feel better
  633. 40:58So just to make it seem like they're not wrong and how are you saying they're trying to make themselves feel better?
  634. 41:03They're calling it like a fetus an embryo fetus is Latin for baby. Mm-hmm
  635. 41:08They're saying the same thing but in a different language, so it sounds different
  636. 41:13So it makes them feel better. Mm-hmm about their murder. Yeah, so well said on social well say it Abby
  637. 41:19And I want to ask you a question because did you just hear up?
  638. 41:26Why is that?
  639. 41:30Go ahead because
  640. 41:32Not only are they calling humanizing young people, but also taking them out while they're weak
  641. 41:40I can't defend themselves like people are supposed to be taking care of babies are killing them
  642. 41:45I'd also always make it very sad.
  643. 41:47Yeah, yeah.
  644. 41:49And in contrast to that, and you heard the first segment,
  645. 41:52and obviously I know you all,
  646. 41:54so I know you've heard me talk about these scriptures before,
  647. 41:58but was there anything in particular
  648. 41:59that stood out to you today as you were listening,
  649. 42:01as we were talking about Psalm 127,
  650. 42:03and what the Lord shares from His word
  651. 42:06as to His perspective on what children are,
  652. 42:07and them being a blessing and a gift.
  653. 42:09Yeah, so the listening, I was like,
  654. 42:10I could see why He wanted us to go on today.
  655. 42:12Now I have to tell you, I didn't plan to talk about the scripture.
  656. 42:16Yeah, it wasn't definitely related, but it is true.
  657. 42:22It is true.
  658. 42:23Yeah.
  659. 42:24I'm just thinking about because God's perspective on children is his same perspective on people.
  660. 42:30He loves them as his own because we are his own because he made us and we belong to him.
  661. 42:35And again, it's really still a portion of how people are not valuing children the way
  662. 42:41they should. It's terrible. And literally like for Thanksgiving we went to go see
  663. 42:49grandparents. A lady was we were walking past the lady who literally said, I would
  664. 42:53tear my hair out as we walked past. And I was like, well she referred to when she said that.
  665. 42:57All of us walking around. So why does she say she would tear her hair out?
  666. 43:01Because people's perspective on children is incorrect and perverted.
  667. 43:04Yeah. So she was saying she would tear her hair out if she had six children. She had six
  668. 43:08I was like, madam, who asked you?
  669. 43:11For real though, it just makes me so mad.
  670. 43:14It'd be like, excuse me.
  671. 43:20I'm not sure people don't mean to be offensive,
  672. 43:22but it depends my nostrils quite a lot.
  673. 43:26It does.
  674. 43:28What can I say?
  675. 43:29Christian, I want to ask you a question as well,
  676. 43:33similar to what I asked Ana just now,
  677. 43:36just considering what the Lord says in his word
  678. 43:39and Psalm 127 and really the gravity of what God's word is and what it should be in our lives.
  679. 43:47I was anything particular that resonated with you as we were walking through Psalm 127 earlier in the program.
  680. 43:54One thing that occurred to me was how the arrows target.
  681. 44:02Because the Lord fashioned the arrows to hit a target and the target isn't up to the archer
  682. 44:08To the Lord and that archer's task is to help those arrows in
  683. 44:14Hitting their target whatever that target may be mmm target may not always be with the archer thinks it is mmm
  684. 44:20Mmm that that is man. That's that's that's a that's a profound observation
  685. 44:25From there and when you consider
  686. 44:28the reality of the reference to the individual warrior, then the expanded battalion, what
  687. 44:34does that communicate to you?
  688. 44:37Where the warrior is joined when they contend with the enemies in the gate?
  689. 44:41If anything, if nothing, I'm not trying to force you to have anything in the same particular.
  690. 44:45Yeah, I'm not sure if I have anything to say.
  691. 44:48Okay, that's so cool.
  692. 44:50That's so cool.
  693. 44:51Now, I know that you all are here that, I asked my older two, y'all got some final exams
  694. 44:55coming up.
  695. 44:56else is like going to break from the normal homeschool routine. How do you all feel? I
  696. 45:04know it's kind of unique amongst some children considering that homeschools are minority.
  697. 45:10What do you think about being discipled in the home and homeschool children? I start with you, Abby.
  698. 45:16So much better. Why do you think that? Why do you say that? We are being taught the truth and
  699. 45:20and sit all that junk in the public schools.
  700. 45:24And also, it tends to, well, I just say differently,
  701. 45:30but in kids that go to public school,
  702. 45:33probably feel more self-conscious,
  703. 45:35because of all trends and all that stuff.
  704. 45:37And in the world, the standard of beauty is a Barbie,
  705. 45:45which I think is disgusting.
  706. 45:47And when people look different than that,
  707. 45:49They probably, like, and if they go to public school,
  708. 45:53they'll most likely feel different and not beautiful.
  709. 45:57But God says otherwise.
  710. 45:59God says otherwise.
  711. 46:00Now, so somebody literally is posing,
  712. 46:05how do you answer comments like,
  713. 46:06boy, you got your hands full?
  714. 46:08Oh yeah, I know that happens all the time.
  715. 46:10And then, honestly, there have been times
  716. 46:11where people would say that to me as I'm,
  717. 46:13we're walking about, there's a comment on the live stream
  718. 46:14that asked me that question.
  719. 46:15Well, I've said out loud in front of my children,
  720. 46:17I'd rather have my hands full than empty.
  721. 46:19You know, I read that my hands fold and empty.
  722. 46:21And it's in it's in it.
  723. 46:22I'll say yes, we do have our hands fold
  724. 46:24and we're enjoying every moment of it
  725. 46:25because we truly, truly are.
  726. 46:27Now we only have a few minutes left.
  727. 46:28I want to ask the two when I when I mentioned
  728. 46:29on the program have two teenagers now,
  729. 46:31I have my my daughter, my oldest daughter,
  730. 46:34and left has just entered the ranks of the teenagers.
  731. 46:37And the season veteran teenager to my right is my oldest son,
  732. 46:40but I ask y'all start one honor
  733. 46:41then I'll come to you Christian based on what you've experienced
  734. 46:44so far and and what you're learning,
  735. 46:46what you're enjoying how you're growing in your developing.
  736. 46:49Do you think you would seek to decide for your children
  737. 46:51in your home when you're an adult?
  738. 46:52If God blesses you with children,
  739. 46:55do you think you would want to disciple them in a home
  740. 46:57including educating them in the home?
  741. 46:59One hundred percent.
  742. 47:00Yes, I absolutely love the belt.
  743. 47:02I did into Russian mode.
  744. 47:04It's factual.
  745. 47:06And why would you do that?
  746. 47:10Because it literally says in scripture,
  747. 47:12it's up to the parents to cultivate their children.
  748. 47:15Like you say, their full-time job should be your family.
  749. 47:18I mean, it says in my shirt.
  750. 47:20It is true though.
  751. 47:23And I want to take up that responsibility
  752. 47:25that if I am blessed with children,
  753. 47:27that I would think of it as a blessing
  754. 47:30and try to be a good steward of the blessing
  755. 47:34that I would be given in a hypothetical scenario.
  756. 47:37If I am not a kid.
  757. 47:38Christian, the same question for you.
  758. 47:42I consider homeschooling the only at what
  759. 47:44pretty much the only option is pub.
  760. 47:47I mean, unless the Lord specifically calls you to send you
  761. 47:50to kill public school for some reason, then yes,
  762. 47:52he should send you to the public school,
  763. 47:54because in accordance with the Lord's will,
  764. 47:55if you're certain.
  765. 47:57But with all the everything about public school,
  766. 48:01it's definitely not somewhere you should consider
  767. 48:04as your first option.
  768. 48:06I'd much prefer homeschooling.
  769. 48:09And why?
  770. 48:11Public school is less of a school and more
  771. 48:13of a communist indoctrination camp for children
  772. 48:16to sensitize them to what is truly even, what is truly right,
  773. 48:21against the will of the parents,
  774. 48:25where and to sever the connection
  775. 48:28between the parents and the children
  776. 48:30for like six out of your eight hours of the day,
  777. 48:33something like that.
  778. 48:37Well, I'm so glad you all joined me.
  779. 48:39The disrespect for music is about the start.
  780. 48:41I know y'all hear it at home often,
  781. 48:43but now you hear it in the studio.
  782. 48:46One thing I do want to say, and I don't say this,
  783. 48:51God knows what's going on in all of our families and those who are listening in the various features of your lives.
  784. 48:58I know there's a phenomenon of single parents and challenges on all kinds of fronts,
  785. 49:06but you will never regret obeying God.
  786. 49:09You will never regret obeying what the Lord says in scripture.
  787. 49:14And so as we're wrapping up today's program,
  788. 49:17I wanna encourage those who are listening
  789. 49:19and those who are watching to seek the Lord
  790. 49:21with your whole hearts before concluding anything,
  791. 49:24especially and including the decisions that will make
  792. 49:27in terms of the cultivation of our children's hearts
  793. 49:29and their minds, because that is what education
  794. 49:32it is, it is the cultivation of the mind.
  795. 49:35Before concluding that based on history or tradition,
  796. 49:38I wanna encourage you to seek what God says about it
  797. 49:41his word. And as we seek what God says in his word, we set our hearts to
  798. 49:49comport and to comply with God establishes and you'll never regret it.
  799. 49:54Even with the variables of various iterations of challenges and even
  800. 50:00brokenness, you'll never regret going God's way. I've seen it happen in many
  801. 50:04different dynamics. I've seen single parents who make the decisions and you'll
  802. 50:09never regret going God's way. The peaceable fruit of righteousness is truly that it is
  803. 50:14peaceable and it has the enduring capacity to put us on the course to enjoy what the scripture
  804. 50:20says. For example, in 3rd John 4 that have no greater joy than to know that my children
  805. 50:26are walking in the truth. We still have a long way to go in my family, but we're endeavoring
  806. 50:31to incorporate that in our own homes and our own home and I encourage you to do the same.
  807. 50:35You all have a wonderful, wonderful evening.
