  9. 0:26Let's not miss our moment.
  10. 0:28And now, the Hamilton Corner.
  11. 0:33Good evening, everyone.
  12. 0:34Welcome to the Hamilton Corner.
  13. 0:35My name is Abraham Hamilton III.
  14. 0:37I am the host of the program joined by a produced extraordinaire,
  15. 0:42often imitated and never duplicated the Rio J. Mac.
  16. 0:46We're ready to rock and roll with today's edition of the program.
  17. 0:51Where, yeah, frankly, I'm still reeling
  18. 0:59from the news of Charlie Kirk's assassination.
  19. 1:06Here we are just, you know, 24 years
  20. 1:11and a day following 9-11.
  21. 1:13I know I mentioned this yesterday,
  22. 1:17but the Islamic terrorists struck our nation in 2001,
  23. 1:24referring to America as the Great Satan,
  24. 1:26simply because they hate our nation.
  25. 1:30And Charlie Kirk was assassinated Wednesday
  26. 1:36because he had the audacity to exercise his God-given right, which is protected by
  27. 1:48our First Amendment to speak. The freedom to speak is a core rubric of what it
  28. 2:03means to be an American. The freedom to speak, frankly, is one of the primary
  29. 2:14tools we have in our tool belt, so to speak, to obey the Lord's Commission. Now,
  30. 2:24I know that about it.
  31. 2:25The Great Commission was still applied if we lived in a closed country, if we lived in a
  32. 2:29communist country, you lived in a totalitarian country.
  33. 2:32But the freedom that we enjoy in our nation is a God given inalienable right protected by
  34. 2:37our First Amendment that serves as a means by which we reason with people's civilly, appeal
  35. 2:48to them to persuade them and their hearts and their minds.
  36. 2:57By all accounts, that's exactly what.
  37. 3:00And not just accounts, I mean, it's not like do was hiding anywhere.
  38. 3:03You can see his online footprint.
  39. 3:08That's what he attempted to accomplish.
  40. 3:12And that's why the assassin killed him.
  41. 3:19Something worth pondering.
  42. 3:23I recall in the biblical witness when starting with the Roman Empire in the first century and
  43. 3:33continuing thereafter when efforts to crush the way of Christ, followers of the way of Christ
  44. 3:41to destroy the Lord's church and its infancy, that was pursued in a manner very similar.
  45. 3:50Of course, it wasn't with a firearm, but this is why all of the apostles, except one,
  46. 3:58died by martyrdom.
  47. 4:01The one apostle who didn't die, the apostle John, it's not because they didn't try.
  48. 4:05They tried, but it just didn't work.
  49. 4:10And something strange happened.
  50. 4:16way of Christ following exploded and infiltrated the entire known world.
  51. 4:25I pray and I expect something very similar to happen because a sober reality took place
  52. 4:32this week that has crystallized for our nation that we really can't go back from.
  53. 4:41And that reality is this.
  54. 4:46If they cannot overcome you by reason, articulation, and persuasion, their next effort will be
  55. 4:56be violent. And it's one thing that is similarly core to the American people that dates back
  56. 5:08to the American Revolution. And we don't like being pushed around. And by God's grace, my
  57. 5:27prayer is that we will have a similar phenomenon transpiring our nation to where the sober
  58. 5:37reality of the stage and state that we are in as a nation will come to rest. And we will
  59. 5:46see, oh, it's high time that I respond appropriately. At this very moment, many of you, if not most
  60. 5:58of you are transitioning from your part time job to your full time jobs. And I want to encourage
  61. 6:02you to do so with intentionality, understanding the primacy that God places on family and allowing
  62. 6:09that to guide and govern your engagement to the word of God. We go Matthew chapter 28,
  63. 6:14I'm going to jump right into it, because in many ways, what we're experiencing, and I'll
  64. 6:21share a little bit of why I'm saying this, this morning, is a failure generationally to
  65. 6:29execute with the Lord commanded of us. Matthew 28 verses 16 through 20. And this is what God's
  66. 6:34word says. Now the 11 disciples went to Galilee to the mountain to which Jesus had directed
  67. 6:40them. And when they saw him, they worshiped him, but some doubt it. And Jesus came and
  68. 6:47said to them all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me, go therefore and
  69. 6:55make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and
  70. 7:05of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold,
  71. 7:12I am with you always to the end of the age."
  72. 7:22Verse 16, there are 11 disciples here because Judas is gone.
  73. 7:28Matthias has not yet been added.
  74. 7:30The book of Acts explains how that transpires with Matthias
  75. 7:32is addition to the Lord's cadre of disciples and apostles.
  76. 7:39This is post-resurrection.
  77. 7:42So this is where Jesus, after he is resurrected,
  78. 7:46He encounters his disciples.
  79. 7:48And I say this all the time,
  80. 7:50AFA's founded down wildman talks about the great scandal
  81. 7:54that Jesus entrusted his mission to regular people
  82. 7:57like you and me.
  83. 7:59That reality is made evident in verse 17,
  84. 8:03that when these 11 disciples are staring in the face,
  85. 8:06they are beholding the resurrected Christ.
  86. 8:09Verse 17 says, and when they saw him, they worshiped him.
  87. 8:13But even then, some doubted.
  88. 8:18They are standing in front of the resurrected Christ.
  89. 8:22These men who had been with them for the previous three years and yet even then some of them
  90. 8:27doubted.
  91. 8:28Glory be to God that that doubt didn't persist.
  92. 8:31They were doubting there, but they became fully persuaded to the point of giving their
  93. 8:36own lives in service of the Lord's purpose.
  94. 8:42Jesus then communicates, all authority is mine.
  95. 8:48And this commission that I am giving you, I am giving you this commission to execute.
  96. 8:53Not in your own authority, but upon my authority.
  97. 8:59Whenever you consider, and what gives me the right,
  98. 9:03what gives me the wherewithal to tell anybody
  99. 9:07about the way of Christ?
  100. 9:09What gives me the wherewithal to try to disciple anybody?
  101. 9:13I wanna remind you when Matthew 28 says,
  102. 9:16it is Jesus's authority.
  103. 9:18It is not your own, it is Jesus's authority.
  104. 9:24And based on that authority, verse 18 says,
  105. 9:26go therefore, therefore, what is it, therefore?
  106. 9:30The therefore is in light of what Jesus is instructed
  107. 9:33in the fact that he has given his authority
  108. 9:36to undergird this work, this mission.
  109. 9:38Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,
  110. 9:42all ethnos, make disciples.
  111. 9:50Baptizing them in the name of the Father
  112. 9:52and as the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
  113. 9:54verse 20, teaching them to obey all things.
  114. 9:59What is a disciple?
  115. 10:03A disciple is a lifelong discipline learner
  116. 10:07and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ,
  117. 10:09who is committed to obey everything he commands.
  118. 10:19Discipleship impacts every aspect of the life of the disciple.
  119. 10:26There are no sections of one's life
  120. 10:30that are not surrendered to the authority
  121. 10:32of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  122. 10:36How do I stew up my finances?
  123. 10:38How do I stew up my body?
  124. 10:39How do I engage in interpersonal relationships?
  125. 10:41How do I comport myself romantically if I'm unmarried yet?
  126. 10:45How do I treat my wife if I am married?
  127. 10:48What way do I worship?
  128. 10:49How do I give every aspect and talk to her?
  129. 10:52How do I give materially?
  130. 10:53Every aspect of our lives is surrendered to the
  131. 10:55worship of Christ.
  132. 10:58But can I tell you something?
  133. 11:02I've been talking quite frequently about understanding the
  134. 11:05signs of the times based on first chronicles, 12, and what
  135. 11:09we ought to do, recognizing where we are,
  136. 11:12having moved as a society from beyond the debates
  137. 11:16between donkeys and elephants to debating good versus evil,
  138. 11:20but what's happening because both sides of this argument
  139. 11:23are saying that the other side is evil.
  140. 11:25We don't understand what good is,
  141. 11:26we don't understand what evil is,
  142. 11:28and I'm gonna tell you very plainly, guys, where we are.
  143. 11:34We've arrived at this station in our nation's history
  144. 11:37as a product of a failure to obey.
  145. 11:41Matthew 28 to 16 through 20 generationally.
  146. 11:45That's what I'm talking about.
  147. 11:47I was in a meeting earlier this week, meeting with some men,
  148. 11:49there was an older brother.
  149. 11:51We were praying together and this brother prayed
  150. 11:53and it, it, it, it, I didn't want to react visibly too much,
  151. 11:58but tears, welled up in my eyes,
  152. 11:59making the fall on my shirt.
  153. 12:02Because this brother is an older gentleman.
  154. 12:03You guys know my affinity for wisdom from the elders.
  155. 12:08And this brother prayed asking God for forgiveness.
  156. 12:12Oh, man.
  157. 12:14asking God for forgiveness for his generation,
  158. 12:18for their ignorance as to what God required of them
  159. 12:21in their failure to do what was necessary.
  160. 12:29The brothers prayer was so genuine.
  161. 12:34And I know this brother and he said to me,
  162. 12:37Abe, we just didn't know this is what we were supposed to do.
  163. 12:44I can't tell you the number of times
  164. 12:45we have people that have joined our church
  165. 12:48and they say to me, Abe,
  166. 12:52I've never heard of discipleship until I came here.
  167. 12:56Some of you listening to me, that is your testimony.
  168. 12:58You never heard the word discipleship mentioned
  169. 13:00in all of your years of church attendance.
  170. 13:03Or if you did hear it, you didn't understand what it meant.
  171. 13:07And if you did hear it and didn't understand what it meant,
  172. 13:10it's certainly what's communicated to you
  173. 13:12that this was central to what your function was to be
  174. 13:16as a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  175. 13:21I wanna be clear, disciple making is not mutually exclusive
  176. 13:24from evangelism, there's no need for people to debate
  177. 13:28whether I evangelize or make disciples
  178. 13:30because evangelism is a critical component of disciple making.
  179. 13:40But disciple making is necessary because we have a people
  180. 13:42that are not merely trying to secure for themselves
  181. 13:45fire insurance, but it is a disciple
  182. 13:52who welcomes all of Christ for all of life.
  183. 13:58And it is an inescapable reality
  184. 14:01that when you have people who have been born again
  185. 14:04by the power of the Spirit of God,
  186. 14:06and they are committing themselves
  187. 14:07to be disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ,
  188. 14:10that will inevitably impact the construction
  189. 14:14and maintenance of the society
  190. 14:17that is comprised by people similarly situated.
  191. 14:21They say it differently,
  192. 14:23you shouldn't be shocked
  193. 14:24that you don't have a First Amendment in Iran.
  194. 14:28You shouldn't be shocked that the fulcrum
  195. 14:31for innovation for well over a century
  196. 14:33has come from a place where freedom has abounded,
  197. 14:36but that abundance of freedom for the individual
  198. 14:38has flown from the revelation, has flowed from the revelation.
  199. 14:42That man is made in God's image, and that the individual,
  200. 14:47the liberty of the individual must be protected.
  201. 14:50We fool ourselves if we think these things are not connected.
  202. 14:53What we're witnessing is a societal hemorrhaging
  203. 14:56that flows from a lack of generational disciple making.
  204. 15:00Are people basically good?
  205. 15:02God says in Romans 3-10, there is no one righteous, not even one.
  206. 15:07This doesn't mean that people are incapable of doing good things.
  207. 15:10It means that apart from God, our nature is bent toward self-centeredness, pride, and rebellion.
  208. 15:18We don't just make mistakes.
  209. 15:19We sinned.
  210. 15:21And sin separates us from a holy God.
  211. 15:24Read Our People Basically Good by Dr. Alex McFarland at thestand.net.
  212. 15:35Shining light into the darkness.
  213. 15:37This is the Hamilton Corner, an American family radio.
  214. 15:41Welcome back to the Hamilton Corner, Abraham Hamilton the third here.
  215. 15:44And I just want to say one of the main reasons why we do this show is we want to minimize
  216. 15:52the frequency of the repetition of people who would say similar to the prayer.
  217. 15:56I just mentioned that that the elder brother shared, prayed and then conversed with me
  218. 16:02about, um, say it to forgive my generation because we did not know.
  219. 16:09I don't want anybody who listens to this program to say you did not know that the Lord's commission
  220. 16:17requires of you as a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ to be directly involved in fulfilling
  221. 16:22his commission, starting in your homes.
  222. 16:26I don't want anybody who listens to this show to go away not recognizing that God established
  223. 16:32the parents and commanded parents to lead
  224. 16:36in making disciples of our children.
  225. 16:38Because discipleship is a constant,
  226. 16:41if we as parents refuse to or fail to disciple our children,
  227. 16:47darkness is not an affirmative force,
  228. 16:49but it reoccupies the space vacated by the light.
  229. 16:53There will be a vacuum filler.
  230. 16:55There will be someone who tries to offer purpose
  231. 16:58in life direction and identity
  232. 17:00and zealous commitment and passion and purpose.
  233. 17:05The question is, is that being presented
  234. 17:10in the manner that God requires?
  235. 17:14And much of what is transpiring in our nation
  236. 17:16is revealing that frankly,
  237. 17:21that the spirit of antichrist,
  238. 17:23which also happens to present itself as anti-American,
  239. 17:27has often filled the void of discipleship that is present.
  240. 17:32Now, my favorite guest is in a studio with me.
  241. 17:37matriarch of Hamiltonia, my lovely wife, my partner in our commitment to implement what
  242. 17:45I'm talking about because I want to be somebody that is yapping and not trying and not executing
  243. 17:50what I'm sharing.
  244. 17:52All be it not perfectly.
  245. 17:53We are committed to following the Lord and serving Him in our home first and in the flowing
  246. 17:58outwardly from there.
  247. 18:01Please join me in welcoming my beautiful wife, mother of our six children, Mrs. Maria Hamilton.
  248. 18:06Thank you for joining me.
  249. 18:08Thank you for having me.
  250. 18:09Oh, it's truly, truly, truly my pleasure.
  251. 18:13You were here, you heard what I shared in the first segment, and I just want to start off
  252. 18:18our conversation by asking how important is it for husbands and wives?
  253. 18:25Let me just be clear why I'm saying this.
  254. 18:27We live in the fallen world.
  255. 18:28There are all kinds of things that are evidences of fallenness, but fallenness doesn't change
  256. 18:33God's standards.
  257. 18:34is still God's order for children to be brought forth
  258. 18:39in procreation and reared in the nurture and admonition
  259. 18:42of the Lord within the context of a married father
  260. 18:45and mother as the parents of their child and children.
  261. 18:49That is God's standard.
  262. 18:50So we want to ascribe to God's standard.
  263. 18:54This is why I'm presenting the question in this way.
  264. 18:56How important is it and why is it important for husbands
  265. 19:00and wives to be committed in unity to obey
  266. 19:04what got required of us to make disciples starting in our homes?
  267. 19:08Well, I think we're all too familiar with marriages
  268. 19:11who are not united.
  269. 19:12I think the enemy has done a great job
  270. 19:14at destroying that foundational reality in our homes.
  271. 19:18I think there are many people who are in marriages,
  272. 19:22especially in the church, unfortunately,
  273. 19:24where they are not united in the raising of their children,
  274. 19:28whether it's the educational pursuits
  275. 19:30the decisions in that route or the discipline. And in all these different areas, a lot of
  276. 19:36us are not united in. So it is extremely important. I think the enemy has done a great
  277. 19:40job, unfortunately.
  278. 19:42And dividing. And the ones that come out, I don't want to say harsh words here, but
  279. 19:49impacted are the children. And so we have to pray. We have to pray. And I'm talking to those who
  280. 19:58who are remarried, who may be experiencing the division,
  281. 20:01that lack of unity.
  282. 20:03We have to pray, we have to pray for God to be the center
  283. 20:06of our marriage and the center of our pursuits.
  284. 20:12Like God has instructions for us
  285. 20:15and we can either leave them on the shelf
  286. 20:18or we can apply them to our everyday lives.
  287. 20:20And enough is enough for us to be sitting on the benches,
  288. 20:23like it's game time.
  289. 20:25And so we can allow the enemy to continue to divide
  290. 20:28and I want to homeschool, I don't want to homeschool.
  291. 20:31They should play literally, they should not play literally.
  292. 20:33We need to pray and ask the Lord to give us
  293. 20:36insight, revelation and wisdom
  294. 20:38on how to raise the next generation.
  295. 20:40God says, you read it today, make disciples of all nations.
  296. 20:44Well, that includes your own children
  297. 20:47because our nation, as we've seen,
  298. 20:49our nation needs disciples of Christ.
  299. 20:52And so we in the church, unfortunately,
  300. 20:54have either been unaware of how important it is
  301. 20:57to be united so we can accomplish this and obey God.
  302. 21:01Or if we are aware,
  303. 21:03make a same grace,
  304. 21:04if we're aware, we don't know the how to,
  305. 21:07which I understand, right?
  306. 21:08We have to read the word of God and be disciples ourselves
  307. 21:11and then make disciples.
  308. 21:13But then even when we are aware and we count the cost,
  309. 21:15we don't wanna do it.
  310. 21:17And we disobey the Lord.
  311. 21:18And that's what we have what we have.
  312. 21:21The church is asleep most of the time.
  313. 21:23And so it's about that time that we come together
  314. 21:27as husbands and wives who have children
  315. 21:29who have been entrusted with the next generation.
  316. 21:31We have to make disciples of them.
  317. 21:36In many ways, and this is something that comes up,
  318. 21:40when you get down to brass tacks, brass tacks,
  319. 21:43and the practical reality,
  320. 21:46and let's just be frank,
  321. 21:48what we do really reveals what we believe.
  322. 21:51Now we can talk about what we believe all day long,
  323. 21:53but what we actually do truly reveals our priorities.
  324. 21:58And oftentimes, there are people who will rhetorically put
  325. 22:06academic matriculation on the same level of significance
  326. 22:10as spiritual development.
  327. 22:11But when you evaluate practical living,
  328. 22:14the investment in time and in resources
  329. 22:18and in priority reflected in those ways
  330. 22:21is actually academics is viewed as more important.
  331. 22:27What would you say, time out,
  332. 22:31before I finish this question, all right babe, I love you.
  333. 22:33Let's go there.
  334. 22:34Do you really want me to say?
  335. 22:35What would you say here, but time back in.
  336. 22:36Here's the question, now I wasn't literally gonna
  337. 22:38tell him about, time back in.
  338. 22:39What would you say to the Christian parent
  339. 22:43who you have encountered and interact with
  340. 22:47that that is their posture to where frankly,
  341. 22:49their investment elevates academics over spiritual development?
  342. 22:53If we are not making disciples,
  343. 22:55and again, disciples has been defined, right?
  344. 22:57It is a discipline, lifelong discipline,
  345. 22:59follower of Christ, a discipline learner,
  346. 23:02one who wants to love God with all his heart,
  347. 23:04mind, soul, and strength, and one who wants to obey the Lord.
  348. 23:06If we are not making disciples in the home,
  349. 23:09and we are making worldly people,
  350. 23:12we are raising people who are after the material goods
  351. 23:15and the statuses of lives, and the cush lives,
  352. 23:18and the comforts, and the bling, and all the other things,
  353. 23:22What we are doing is we're feeding them to the world.
  354. 23:24That's just what we're doing.
  355. 23:25We're feeding them to the world.
  356. 23:26Now here's the thing, that's the best case scenario,
  357. 23:27if you will, in regards to the church, right?
  358. 23:29Like you have meaning and comparison.
  359. 23:31You have the world who don't, like you say,
  360. 23:33the world's gonna world, right?
  361. 23:34So you have the world who don't know up from down.
  362. 23:36They're in darkness.
  363. 23:37So they're making disciples of that, right?
  364. 23:40They're making, they're making,
  365. 23:42they're making those who think evil is good
  366. 23:45and good is evil, right?
  367. 23:46Like that's who the generation is today.
  368. 23:49Today they're confused.
  369. 23:50The Bible says they're deceiving and they're being deceived.
  370. 23:53And then you have us in the church,
  371. 23:55and I don't wanna say us because honestly,
  372. 23:57it is not us by the grace of God,
  373. 23:59but you have believed, you and I,
  374. 24:01but we have believers, believers within the body of Christ
  375. 24:05who have access to the truth,
  376. 24:08who have the spirit of God living within them,
  377. 24:10who have the manual for life.
  378. 24:13And we are elevating worldliness as if that is good.
  379. 24:18And I'm not talking about, you know, vowel poverty or anything like that, or even the lack of
  380. 24:24education.
  381. 24:25I'm not even advocating for that.
  382. 24:26What I am saying is, if we, and you know what you're saying as well, is if we do not elevate
  383. 24:34to its rightful position, this instruction from God in Matthew 28, where we are to live
  384. 24:40as disciplined learners and followers, those who give their lives completely and devoted
  385. 24:46to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and we don't make the young, we don't raise the young ones
  386. 24:53with this mentality, this boldness to proclaim the truth no matter what.
  387. 24:57This boldness to say, for Christ I live and for Christ I die.
  388. 25:01I don't want to cry.
  389. 25:03We are going to continue to raise.
  390. 25:05On the one hand, the world is raising them to be strong warriors for wickedness.
  391. 25:10And on the other hand, we're raising snowflakes.
  392. 25:14Those who want the warms and fuzzies of a cosmic Santa Claus, but not the steadfastness of a
  393. 25:21bold believer.
  394. 25:24And so it's very disheartening because these institutions that the Christians are sending
  395. 25:30their children to to get that education that is going to provide for them a comfortable
  396. 25:34American way of life, the doctors and the lawyers, those institutions are godless for
  397. 25:40the most part.
  398. 25:42And in those institutions, if we don't make disciples in the home, if we don't make disciples
  399. 25:46in the home, they can very easily go to a godless institution that continues to emphasize godlessness
  400. 25:53and godlessness leads to wickedness and wickedness leads to death.
  401. 25:57And so if the body of Christ is not making disciples in the home, but we elevate academics,
  402. 26:02we are synonyms, institutions that are godless and godless education is wickedness, is darkness.
  403. 26:10So we got to do it.
  404. 26:11We gotta make disciples, we gotta obey the Lord.
  405. 26:14But we haven't been for the most part.
  406. 26:17Yeah, the question is whether or not we really believe that.
  407. 26:20Yeah.
  408. 26:21And so too many have been kind of seduced
  409. 26:25into this comfortable deception of neutrality.
  410. 26:31That, you know, well, this is just neutral.
  411. 26:34This is just reading, writing, arithmetic.
  412. 26:37Like I shared this week the story
  413. 26:39from Texas A&M University,
  414. 26:42where you have a children's literature class.
  415. 26:45It's a children's literature class.
  416. 26:47The class is targeted to prepare the students
  417. 26:49to teach or to serve children ages three through 12.
  418. 26:56And the students in this class,
  419. 26:59this is not in, you know, the Pacific Northwest,
  420. 27:02this is not in California, this is not,
  421. 27:04this is in deep in the heart of Texas.
  422. 27:07And thankfully, the students spoke up
  423. 27:10and objected to that,
  424. 27:14and frankly, that indoctrination instruction.
  425. 27:17But how often would something like that transpire,
  426. 27:19nobody say anything?
  427. 27:21And then we wonder how we have the phenomenon
  428. 27:25in the education system right now, for example,
  429. 27:28rapid onset gender dysphoria, right?
  430. 27:33Was that, you have teenagers, all of a sudden decide,
  431. 27:35I'm dysphoric.
  432. 27:36Well, could it be that they have followed a battery of, you know, instruction, like the
  433. 27:43Montgomery School District in Maryland combined with online affirmation of these ideologies that
  434. 27:49rival the truth of God's word?
  435. 27:52But here, let's play the take back.
  436. 27:54Take the take back.
  437. 27:55Excuse me.
  438. 27:56Play it back.
  439. 27:57Why is it?
  440. 27:58Why is it that that would cause us as believers to rise up and speak up against transgender ideology
  441. 28:05being pushed and shoved into the kids' lives and ears, right?
  442. 28:09In every classroom it seems like.
  443. 28:11Why is it that that is what rises us up
  444. 28:14and not the scores, the years, the years,
  445. 28:17because you and I grew up in the 80s and 90s,
  446. 28:19the years of what they call neutral education.
  447. 28:22Guys, there is no such thing as neutral.
  448. 28:25When we teach, when we learn the sciences
  449. 28:27as if there is no God,
  450. 28:29when we learn social studies and history
  451. 28:31as if there is no God for science,
  452. 28:33what do we study?
  453. 28:34The discoveries of what man has discovered, right?
  454. 28:38There is no God, no mention of God at all, as if he's not the creator of all things, right?
  455. 28:44In social studies and history, what do we study?
  456. 28:46Dead people and dates memorize them.
  457. 28:49Godless history, Godless mathematics, Godless language arts, Godless every discipline,
  458. 28:56and it's neutral.
  459. 28:57It is not neutral because like we talked about this morning, the shooters that we're experiencing
  460. 29:01Today are not the 40s and 50 year olds and 60 year olds.
  461. 29:06It's the 20 year olds, the teens who have been raised
  462. 29:10in a neutral academic environment.
  463. 29:12It is not neutral.
  464. 29:14When we teach godlessness and then the enemy gets bolder
  465. 29:18and now he teaches gender confusion from the classrooms.
  466. 29:21Now we're like, wait, no, that's indoctrination.
  467. 29:24They've been indoctrinated.
  468. 29:25They've been indoctrinating.
  469. 29:27They have been convincing a populace,
  470. 29:29the next generation of believers
  471. 29:31that it is okay to be godless as long as you are humanistically good.
  472. 29:35But we cannot have morality without the moral giver.
  473. 29:38I want to cry, y'all, but I get so passionate about this.
  474. 29:41We cannot have morality.
  475. 29:45Like don't shoot a person for speaking their mind.
  476. 29:48Like thou shall not kill.
  477. 29:49Like, yeah, like that exactly.
  478. 29:50We cannot have that morality without the moral giver.
  479. 29:54But we have raised the generation in America, not in Taliban controlled regions or whatever
  480. 30:02here in the Great Satan, right?
  481. 30:07In the land of the free the home of the brave, right?
  482. 30:10Where Christianity is the religion.
  483. 30:13We have raised the generation of God haters, of truth haters, of people who are deceiving
  484. 30:19and being deceived.
  485. 30:20And it starts when we lay a foundation educationally of neutrality, whereas God less, there is no
  486. 30:27such thing.
  487. 30:29Basically developing over time a comfortability with a normalized Godlessness to where, because
  488. 30:36you say we're teaching Godlessness, we can teach Godlessness either through affirmative
  489. 30:42didactic instruction or, and this is the more insidious form of teaching.
  490. 30:47The more insidious form of teaching is omitting salient reality and truth from the consistent
  491. 30:54diet of instruction.
  492. 30:56So when you have K through 12 instruction where God has excluded from the scientists,
  493. 31:01God has excluded from language arts, God's God has excluded from mathematics, God has
  494. 31:05excluded from social studies, God has excluded from history.
  495. 31:08You the inevitable consequence of that is that there is a palpable normalized Godlessness
  496. 31:14to where the well-trained disciple, because Jesus told us this, that the student will become
  497. 31:20like its teacher.
  498. 31:21Yes.
  499. 31:22Jesus said that.
  500. 31:23So, when you have that consistent instruction that's affirmed repeatedly compounded over
  501. 31:28the years, then what becomes comfortable and normal is godlessness.
  502. 31:32Well, then what becomes the stranger?
  503. 31:35What becomes foreign?
  504. 31:39And that echoes what I said at the end of the first segment is that what we're experiencing
  505. 31:46currently is a nation that is hemorrhaging from a generational lack of discipleship.
  506. 31:55The disrespectful music is on. So when we come back from the break, I want to ask you a question.
  507. 32:00Of course, I've thought about this, I have an answer, but I want to ask you to share your response.
  508. 32:05How do we reconcile Jesus's commission to make disciples with the cultivation of the mind?
  509. 32:13How do we reconcile those concepts?
  510. 32:15You are listening to or watching The Hamilton Corner.
  511. 32:18We'll be back after this break more with my beautiful wife,
  512. 32:21Mrs. Maria Hamilton.
  513. 32:23Children, of course, are given to parents by God,
  514. 32:36not to the state. Children don't belong to the state,
  515. 32:38and we need to make sure that those lines are very clearly
  516. 32:42protected and increasingly secularized culture,
  517. 32:45where the government has not only tried to make the children
  518. 32:50church completely irrelevant, but basically replace parents.
  519. 32:54Jenna Ellis in the morning, weekdays at 7 Central on American family radio.
  520. 32:59A Hamilton Quarter podcast and one-minute common
  521. 33:08terry are available at AFR.net. Back to the Hamilton Quarter on American Family Radio.
  522. 33:15Welcome back to the Hamilton Corner, Abraham Hamilton the third here along with my lovely wife
  523. 33:20Maria Hamilton the first. I posed the question to you before the
  524. 33:26I want to pick up with it now.
  525. 33:27How do we reconcile as a society and individually, frankly?
  526. 33:31Jesus is commissioned to make disciples with the cultivation of the mind.
  527. 33:39Because so often people say, well, you know, we've got to get an education.
  528. 33:43And I often say, first of all, that education and academia are not synonymous terms.
  529. 33:48And education actually is a lifelong pursuit because as Christ followers, we are continuing
  530. 33:53according to 1 Peter chapter 2.
  531. 33:54But I want to invite you to share how would you address that?
  532. 33:58How we reconcile the commission to make disciples with the cultivation of the mind often referred
  533. 34:03to as education.
  534. 34:05So you know how we just read in Matthew 28 and how Jesus specifically says, make disciples
  535. 34:09of all nations and then he says baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  536. 34:14Baptizing carries with it the foundational understanding of fully immersed, you are fully
  537. 34:20immersed in God, right?
  538. 34:23the triune God. God calls us to be immersed in Him. We cannot learn unless we are immersed
  539. 34:31in Him. What I mean is we cannot learn foundational truth. We cannot learn consistent truth. We
  540. 34:40cannot learn what God has put us on this earth to understand. He has revealed himself to humanity,
  541. 34:46not just to Christians to humanity. And so he says be fully immersed in who he is. And
  542. 34:52We only think about the water and I understand that we do that as an obedience to the Lord.
  543. 34:57But he's calling us to be ourselves fully immersed in who he is.
  544. 35:02That includes the mind, the soul, the body.
  545. 35:06And so when we are talking about teaching children and we're talking about making disciples
  546. 35:12of your children and those that God draws to you, praise the Lord that there are others
  547. 35:16that God is going to draw to us to make disciples of them and that we are called to
  548. 35:19be disciples ourselves of Christ Jesus.
  549. 35:23It carries with it.
  550. 35:24You can divide it.
  551. 35:25You can separate it.
  552. 35:26It carries with it a full immersion of who he is, starting with who he has revealed himself
  553. 35:31to be first, which is Creator God.
  554. 35:33So all the sciences stem from Creator God.
  555. 35:37All the history of humanity stems from Creator God.
  556. 35:41And so we have to start there.
  557. 35:43When we remove that from our academics, right?
  558. 35:47Our sciences and our histories and our math and our language arts and our grammar and our
  559. 35:53ability to communicate and reason, right?
  560. 35:56When we unplug that, when we remove that,
  561. 35:58we are not learning the way that God put us on this earth
  562. 36:01to learn.
  563. 36:02He wants us to know him.
  564. 36:04That's the chief and of mankind, to know God
  565. 36:07and glory if I'm forever.
  566. 36:08So we are called to raise a generation of people
  567. 36:11who know how to think, not tell me what to think,
  568. 36:13but know how to think.
  569. 36:15And not just being critical, it's analyzing truth
  570. 36:17from its foundational understanding
  571. 36:19and being able to proclaim it boldly, right?
  572. 36:21We have to do that, but we don't do that in academics.
  573. 36:23And Christians have bought the lie that, like we said earlier, that it is neutral and that
  574. 36:27we do not need to be anchored in the foundational understanding of truth based on God's perspective
  575. 36:35and that we can just read and learn how to read and reading comprehension and math.
  576. 36:39And you know, sprinkle little science and social studies and you'll be all right because
  577. 36:42you can become a doctor that way you see.
  578. 36:45No, we are failing miserably if that's our perspective.
  579. 36:50I often reflect on Matthew 22 when Jesus was questioned as to what was the greatest commandment
  580. 36:56and it responds by quoting from Deuteronomy 6. And he says,
  581. 37:04that you shall love the Lord while your heart, your soul, your mind, and your strength. And the
  582. 37:13second is like you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am gravely concerned that many in the
  583. 37:21the body of Christ have failed to consider what it means to love the Lord with our minds,
  584. 37:28that the mind has been excluded from the calculus of what it means to be a lifelong,
  585. 37:37disciplined, obedient follower of Jesus Christ.
  586. 37:42And we've seeded that territory, the cultivation of the mind to frankly God haters.
  587. 37:48And we become comfortable in that simply because it's a ubiquitous phenomenon.
  588. 37:54The full says in his heart there is no God, right?
  589. 37:57That full is thinking, that full is thinking there is no God.
  590. 38:01We are called to think, but when we think of the mind for some reason, we disconnect it
  591. 38:06from the heart.
  592. 38:08God calls us to love him with all of our heart.
  593. 38:10We love that one.
  594. 38:11All of our soul, all of our might and all of our mind, right?
  595. 38:14And so when we're thinking and we're thinking about knowledge and we're thinking about reasoning
  596. 38:18and we're thinking about right from wrong and morality,
  597. 38:21you cannot unplug it from the mind.
  598. 38:22You have to think logically.
  599. 38:24You have to think like God put us on the search to think
  600. 38:26from the mind of God.
  601. 38:27And the Lord says, we have the mind of Christ.
  602. 38:30So if we have a mind of Christ,
  603. 38:31there is a proper way to think.
  604. 38:33And there's a wrong way to think.
  605. 38:35And that's the thing that people don't like to hear today
  606. 38:37because truth is absolute,
  607. 38:38but they don't wanna hear that, right?
  608. 38:39Because it's like your opinion, but it's my opinion.
  609. 38:41But the reality is that we are called to worship God
  610. 38:44with our mind that is not limited to knowledge,
  611. 38:47but it includes knowledge, right?
  612. 38:49It includes education.
  613. 38:50It includes learning new things.
  614. 38:53It's not limited to knowledge, but it includes it.
  615. 38:55And so I think for the body of Christ too long,
  616. 38:56we've just liked the feeling of Christianity,
  617. 39:00but not the thought and the action of Christianity, you know?
  618. 39:04And I think that's just, we're not obeying Godfully.
  619. 39:10I often say that ideas have consequences
  620. 39:12and bad ideas create casualties.
  621. 39:14Yes.
  622. 39:18That thought has been ringing in my heart this week
  623. 39:20as we learned of Wednesday, Charlie Kirk's assassination.
  624. 39:27Ideas have consequences and bad ideas, create casualties.
  625. 39:32Paul wrote to the church of Colossae
  626. 39:34and in chapter two of his epistle,
  627. 39:35to the church there that I am writing,
  628. 39:37so that you would not be deluded by fine sounding
  629. 39:41and persuasive argument.
  630. 39:43That's in the beginning of chapter two,
  631. 39:45by the time you get to verse eight in that same chapter,
  632. 39:47he affirms to the believer, I'm writing,
  633. 39:51so that you would not be taking captives.
  634. 39:54What began at the delusion stage, metastasizes into full-blown
  635. 40:00captivity unless there's an interruption of the delusion,
  636. 40:06an interception of the delusion.
  637. 40:08And I want to underscore that Paul is saying this to believers.
  638. 40:14Believer, as you're listening to us right now, watching us right now,
  639. 40:17I want you to soberly consider that the prospect exists
  640. 40:23that we could be deluded in the Lord by the Spirit of God
  641. 40:29is compelling us to refuse that delusion
  642. 40:33by warning us that it's possible
  643. 40:35and then telling us the mechanism of it.
  644. 40:37Verse eight goes on to say that I write,
  645. 40:39so do you want me to take in captive
  646. 40:41by elemental philosophy based upon human tradition
  647. 40:45and the basic principles of this world
  648. 40:48rather than upon Christ.
  649. 40:51What's presented there is the binary relationship of having a life and worldview that is anchored
  650. 40:58in Christ versus a worldview anchored solely humanistically.
  651. 41:05So with Charlie Kirk, for example, right, he was a brother.
  652. 41:08He was a brother in Christ.
  653. 41:09He's now with our Savior, praise Jesus.
  654. 41:12But he was bold in going into these arenas,
  655. 41:17these college campuses, unfortunately today,
  656. 41:19that's what we have to do
  657. 41:21because the young minds are being corrupted.
  658. 41:22Almost like a modern day areaopagus.
  659. 41:24Literally, men of Athens, literally what Paul did.
  660. 41:26And so he's going into these environments
  661. 41:29and we're living in a nation
  662. 41:30where the young minds have been so deceived and so corrupted.
  663. 41:36I'm not gonna please blame the enemy
  664. 41:37because the devil is at work,
  665. 41:39that he has to go into an environment
  666. 41:41to proclaim the truth and he gets assassinated
  667. 41:46for what he believes, for what we believe, right?
  668. 41:50Because the honest truth is that we believe that.
  669. 41:52We believe that knowledge comes from God.
  670. 41:55We believe that the fear of God
  671. 41:57is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge.
  672. 41:58We understand that God is who he says that he is.
  673. 42:02That is why he was killed.
  674. 42:03He was killed because he was standing
  675. 42:05for what is true and what is right.
  676. 42:07And he was fighting for the freedoms of our nation.
  677. 42:08And now we're living in a country
  678. 42:10we cannot do that, we will do that,
  679. 42:13but we cannot do that without risking our lives.
  680. 42:16And so are we gonna raise a generation
  681. 42:18who can stand like that?
  682. 42:19Are we gonna end the church?
  683. 42:20Are we gonna raise a generation?
  684. 42:22I'm not saying that more bidly or anything like that,
  685. 42:25but are we gonna raise a generation
  686. 42:26who is steadfast in what is right and what is true,
  687. 42:28who in full abandonment worships God
  688. 42:31and proclaims the truth no matter what?
  689. 42:33Can we, that's a disciple?
  690. 42:35Because when he said men of Athens,
  691. 42:36when Paul said men of Athens.
  692. 42:38in Acts 17.
  693. 42:39In Acts 17, and he says you worshiping all these gods, but there's the unknown God.
  694. 42:43Let me tell you about him.
  695. 42:44When he did that, he ran the risk of being killed and he got shot.
  696. 42:48I mean, sorry, he got stoned and he got beaten and he got jailed for the sake of Christ.
  697. 42:53And we're living in an America where it seems like if we're not already there, we're heading
  698. 42:57there, but I think we're already there, where we have to stand for what is true and what
  699. 43:01is right.
  700. 43:02We have to be able to proclaim the truth and you may very well risk being killed, you
  701. 43:08know, so we have to make disciples.
  702. 43:10Man, this is a moment for really sober reflection, because I'm reminded in people you've listened
  703. 43:19to and watched the show for a while, you know, when Daniel and his friends who are often referred
  704. 43:24to as the Three Hebrew Boys, they were only boys in chapter one of the book of Daniel,
  705. 43:27chapter two, four where they were grown men.
  706. 43:30But when the scripture says that Daniel resolved in his heart and his friends, Hananiah,
  707. 43:33and asariah joined him in that resolution,
  708. 43:37that they were a remnant of Jews who were in Babylon.
  709. 43:42They were a remnant of Jews.
  710. 43:45There were others who were there,
  711. 43:48but they're not recorded in scriptures
  712. 43:50having the same resolve as Daniel and his friends.
  713. 43:53So when you have them as men in Babylon,
  714. 43:57I think it's noteworthy to highlight
  715. 43:59that they're in Babylon.
  716. 44:01And when Nebuchadnezzar issues the edict,
  717. 44:03that when you hear, you know, the sounds of the music
  718. 44:07that you have to face plant and worship my statue,
  719. 44:09my statue, and Daniel's friends are the only ones
  720. 44:14who are not doing it.
  721. 44:15We have to know that there were other Jews
  722. 44:17who were in that same audience,
  723. 44:19and they had no problem face planting.
  724. 44:22I guess the solar reflection that I'm encouraging
  725. 44:25at this moment is can we invest ourselves,
  726. 44:31Lord willing by His grace to rear a generation of Azariah, Han and I as a Miss I.L. and Daniel's.
  727. 44:38If we don't, if we don't, the darkness is going to continue to overcome, right?
  728. 44:46If you go back and examine the shooters that we've had in recent years, they're coming for truth.
  729. 44:51They're coming from the body of Christ. They're coming for what our nation stood for once upon a
  730. 44:57time. The enemy has deceived the young minds of people and they're coming for what is right.
  731. 45:03Truth is absolute. They're coming for the enemy does not want you to be proclaimed in the streets
  732. 45:08anymore. And so we can't cower because he hasn't wanted it forever, right? And he did it in Rome.
  733. 45:16They were burned at the stake, you know, but we're living in the American now where we have to raise
  734. 45:22Hebrew boys, they cannot bow.
  735. 45:24They cannot be weak.
  736. 45:25They have to be able to say, even if he does not deliver us,
  737. 45:29even if he doesn't deliver us, right?
  738. 45:31And so that's the believer that we should be
  739. 45:34and that's the believers that we need to be raising.
  740. 45:35I was just thinking that in order for us to be able to convey
  741. 45:38that type of conviction to our children,
  742. 45:40that type of conviction we have to have.
  743. 45:42Yes.
  744. 45:43That we cannot, the whole thrust of Deuteronomy 6
  745. 45:45is that you deliver what you have.
  746. 45:48You know, you love the Lord with all you are.
  747. 45:50and you teach this diligently to your children.
  748. 45:53That simply put, we have to get to the place
  749. 45:55where we as parents and adults, man,
  750. 45:56we gotta get off the couch.
  751. 45:57I was saying earlier this week,
  752. 45:58we gotta have to get off the couch ministry.
  753. 46:00We cannot afford to continue to just watch life go by
  754. 46:04and to be at best, armchair critics and commentators
  755. 46:10as it was happening, but we're not in the game.
  756. 46:12It's easy to complain about the plays being made
  757. 46:16when you're not on the field.
  758. 46:17It's easy to complain.
  759. 46:20But are we willing to get on the field?
  760. 46:22And here's the thing that's the rub.
  761. 46:23God requires us to be on the field.
  762. 46:25It's an instruction, it's a command.
  763. 46:28I have a fire in my heart
  764. 46:35because you have assassins that wanna take out Charlie Kirk's
  765. 46:39but ain't nobody really aiming at pastors.
  766. 46:41Mm, not really.
  767. 46:47The Lord said the church is supposed
  768. 46:48to be the pillar and ground of truth.
  769. 46:50Really, all of the parroturge ministries that exist,
  770. 46:52they exist largely because of deficiencies in the Lord's bride.
  771. 46:56Yeah.
  772. 46:57And I don't say that as an outside criticism,
  773. 46:59because I'm a member of the Lord's church.
  774. 47:04And I brought you to interview,
  775. 47:05but then I'm getting spun up.
  776. 47:07You good?
  777. 47:09Because it's enough as enough, man.
  778. 47:12Enough is enough.
  779. 47:13The answer is not violence.
  780. 47:15The answer is not just letting our emotions out.
  781. 47:18The answer is not letting anger overwhelm us.
  782. 47:21The answer is repentance and obedience.
  783. 47:24Amen.
  784. 47:25Amen.
  785. 47:26And obedience.
  786. 47:27We must go before the Lord in prayer,
  787. 47:33cry out to Him to forgive us for our contribution
  788. 47:36to what our nation has become.
  789. 47:37Yes.
  790. 47:38We have all kinds of civic and adults.
  791. 47:40Freedom is never more than one of generation from extinction.
  792. 47:42Ben Franklin, what have you wrought a republic
  793. 47:44if you can keep it?
  794. 47:44Yep.
  795. 47:45George Washington, religion and morality,
  796. 47:48indispensable supports to our Constitution
  797. 47:49Republic and former government.
  798. 47:53It's our time.
  799. 47:56Are we gonna meet the moment that God has afforded us?
  800. 47:59I'll give you the last word babe, 30 seconds.
  801. 48:00No, yeah, let's get in the game.
  802. 48:02Let's get in the game.
  803. 48:03let's obey God and let's do what He called us to.
  804. 48:06And if we have elevated idols above what He's calling us to do,
  805. 48:10we need to repent.
  806. 48:12Amen.
  807. 48:13Lord, I just ask You to strengthen us, Lord,
  808. 48:16and give us the grace that we need to obey You.
  809. 48:21In that, as You said in Your word,
  810. 48:23what is foremost required of a servant that He be found faithful,
  811. 48:26God, I pray that You are strengthen us,
  812. 48:28our hearts, minds, hands and arms
  813. 48:32that we will be found doing the work you've called us to.
  814. 48:35In Jesus' name, amen.
