  3. 0:07This is the Hamilton Corner on American Family Radio.
  4. 0:11It should be uncomfortable for a believer to live as a hypocrite.
  5. 0:15Delivery people out of the bondage of mainstream media.
  6. 0:18And the philosophies of this world.
  7. 0:20God has called you and me to be his ambassador.
  8. 0:24Even in this dark moment.
  9. 0:26Let's not miss our moment.
  10. 0:29and now the Hamilton Corner.
  11. 0:31Well, good evening America.
  12. 0:34Alex McFarland here sitting in for attorney, pastor, journalist, broadcaster, Abe Hamilton
  13. 0:40the third.
  14. 0:41This is the Hamilton Corner and we have got a great show.
  15. 0:43Listen, I got to tell you, I'm just so excited for covering some of the headlines and getting
  16. 0:49the wisdom of the guests that you're about to meet in just a moment.
  17. 0:53Aubrey Shines of Real America's Voice and I will give him a more thorough, more proper
  18. 0:58introduction in just a moment, but I want to say thank you all for listening to the American
  19. 1:02Family Radio Network. And I thank my friend Abe Hamilton the third for allowing me to sit
  20. 1:08in when he is traveling. If you recognize my voice, it's probably from a show called Exploring
  21. 1:15the Word that airs live five days a week on the American Family Radio Network, Bert Harper
  22. 1:20and myself. We teach the Bible and what a great honor it is over 15 years we've been doing
  23. 1:27it and it just, I give God the glory, exploring the Word seems to grow and grow and we do a
  24. 1:34lot of things on, we teach the Bible, but we have started just this year challenging people
  25. 1:41to read the Word of God through, cover to cover in a year.
  26. 1:45And if you do that, we give you a certificate and we gave away about 50 certificates in January
  27. 1:52of people that took us up on our challenge. And last year they read the Bible in its entirety,
  28. 1:59Genesis through Revelation. But we invite you to tune in on the American Family Radio
  29. 2:04Network to exploring the Word. But I'm very blessed because I'm kind of a news junkie.
  30. 2:10And always, I've just been really glued to current events. And so, Abe Hamilton, the third,
  31. 2:18here on the Hamilton Corner, he kind of lets me get my inner journalist working to talk about
  32. 2:27current events.
  33. 2:28And we have a lot of great opinion makers.
  34. 2:30We've interviewed elected officials, celebrities, a lot of people.
  35. 2:35Today we have on a broadcaster and journalist, Aubrey Shines.
  36. 2:39And he's got a program that's a very popular, highly watched program on Real America's voice
  37. 2:46called America shines, I'm sorry, America shines, and it's news and current events from a biblical
  38. 2:55worldview. And he's also pastor of going from glory to glory, G2G ministries. He does work
  39. 3:03for FRC Family Research Council, faith leaders for America, Charlie Kirk and Turning Point
  40. 3:10USA that I've had the great privilege of getting to be friends with Charlie and TPUSA.
  41. 3:16He's just one of these guys.
  42. 3:19He's conversant on any topic.
  43. 3:21He's articulate and God is using him in a big way to inform and inspire and speak truth
  44. 3:28to our nation.
  45. 3:29And I'm very honored to be able to glean from his wisdom tonight.
  46. 3:34He's Aubrey Shines, our guest right now on the American Family Radio Network.
  47. 3:39Welcome, Aubrey Shines.
  48. 3:41Hey, Alex, great to be with you guys.
  49. 3:43Always love your pleasant and kind words.
  50. 3:46Thank you for being so incredibly kind.
  51. 3:48Thanks, Alex.
  52. 3:50Well, it's great honor.
  53. 3:51And I appreciate what you do.
  54. 3:53And hey, one thing about the times in which we live,
  55. 3:58it ain't boring is, I mean, there is so much going on.
  56. 4:02Tell us about your, for one thing, tell us about your show.
  57. 4:05But I'm always curious, how do you do your show prep
  58. 4:08With so much, I mean, it's a big, loud, noisy world.
  59. 4:13How do you plan your content?
  60. 4:16You know, a lot of different ways.
  61. 4:18The show's been airing for three plus years.
  62. 4:21Our visibility, our numbers are really incredible.
  63. 4:24And I say that with a great deal of humility,
  64. 4:26I really, really do.
  65. 4:27When I prepping for a show, you know, you know,
  66. 4:30how this goes and maybe a lot of our public doesn't,
  67. 4:33I just simply reach out to one of my producers and say,
  68. 4:36Hey, you know what?
  69. 4:37I believe this is where we need to be this coming up.
  70. 4:40We care this particular topic.
  71. 4:42You know, we have obviously a plethora of guys and girls
  72. 4:45that can come in and give expertise,
  73. 4:48but I really believe at times, Alex,
  74. 4:50and I hope this doesn't sound too spooky to a lot of people.
  75. 4:55I really pray about it.
  76. 4:57I do because I love the way that you teat that up.
  77. 5:01There are so many issues that are going on.
  78. 5:03I mean, arbitrarily, we could just take 5,000 issues and just tackle.
  79. 5:08But what one or two issues are so relevant that the public really needs some clarity?
  80. 5:16That's what I do and America shines.
  81. 5:18We shine the light on those particular topics.
  82. 5:21And so when I have guests like you or others from heretic or whoever I may have on, these
  83. 5:28These individuals come in what I believe to be such an acumen of accuracy, that it allows
  84. 5:36us to speak truth with love, but very courageously in the sense of regardless of what comes out
  85. 5:45of it, even the negative things, we still stay the course, Alex.
  86. 5:50And as a result, I think we're doing quite well according to the numbers.
  87. 5:55Well, deservedly so.
  88. 5:58Deservely so.
  89. 5:59And I want to encourage people, by the way, where may they listen to America shines?
  90. 6:04Even if they just go out and download it on their phone, if that's easier, of course we're
  91. 6:09on every Saturday, 2 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, and you can go to everywhere from hula
  92. 6:16to samsang to fox.
  93. 6:19I mean, we're out there.
  94. 6:20It's just everywhere.
  95. 6:21we were, but one of the easiest ways that we get so much traffic from guys and girls
  96. 6:26to simply downloading Real America's voice on their app, on their phone rather, downloading
  97. 6:31the app. And they tune us in. As a matter of fact, they're able to even catch some of
  98. 6:36the shows that I've done at least two to three weeks prior. We get a lot of quote, late response
  99. 6:42from individuals that may be traveling, can't sit down at that specific hour. And it's
  100. 6:48really been humbling, honoring at the same time. I'm just glad that I'm able to serve the way that I do.
  101. 6:55What was your background prior to being a broadcaster on Real America's voice?
  102. 7:00Well, ministry, you know, I for the last 30 plus years, I was connected to one of the largest
  103. 7:07denominations that was here in the United States of America. And abroad, I was one of the
  104. 7:13Chiefy Bangel has had a very strong itinerary ministry. I was probably doing I don't know 120, 130 flights a year
  105. 7:21You know just church to church revival to revival conference to conference lecture to lecture
  106. 7:27And a lot of fun now when my dad was living I really thought you know just a little a little fun here
  107. 7:33I really thought I was gonna follow in his footsteps and just be a great businessman. He was incredibly successful
  108. 7:39in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois,
  109. 7:42ran an incredible organization with a lot of trucks
  110. 7:46and businesses, et cetera, just, you know,
  111. 7:49really, really a profound guy.
  112. 7:52I hate ahead to bury him at such a young age,
  113. 7:55but I really thought Alex, that was gonna be my direction.
  114. 7:58Then when I began to matriculate through school,
  115. 8:00I thought, oh, got it, I got it.
  116. 8:02I'm gonna be the next greatest constitutional judge
  117. 8:06that's out there.
  118. 8:07God had some other plans.
  119. 8:09I really felt right now, I wish you were a judge right now.
  120. 8:13Well, I get that quite a bit, right?
  121. 8:16You know, I certainly would have been a constitutional guy with a real, real organic background for
  122. 8:25our Constitution because we're looking at what I call a real hijacking of our Constitution.
  123. 8:30I really think that we're in trouble in that area.
  124. 8:34I hope, by the way, that some of our colleagues in Congress will adhere at least to the hope
  125. 8:40of Donald J. Trump.
  126. 8:41I think some of these federal judges should be impeached.
  127. 8:44I think they've gone off the reservation.
  128. 8:47And I think they should be constitutionalists and not ideologues and let the law fall where
  129. 8:54it will.
  130. 8:55And again, Alex, if our churches are not involved, if our leaders are not involved writing and
  131. 9:00calling their congressional and senatorial leaders, then I hate to say it this way, then
  132. 9:06we'll get what we deserve. But if we're really engaged, as we were in this past and prior election,
  133. 9:13I believe Alex, we can turn this thing around. We must be engaged on these topics, not just on
  134. 9:19our radio and TV shows, but in our pulpits as well. What do you think the history books are going to
  135. 9:26right about the latter days of the Biden administration, the 2024 election.
  136. 9:34I mean, for one thing, July 13, 2024, when President Trump was almost assassinated, then
  137. 9:43candidate Trump, you know, even now with six to eight months, you know, retrospective,
  138. 9:52I just feel like these are some of the most critical, crucial, everything's up for grab
  139. 9:58days about America.
  140. 9:59But Arbery, what do you think the history books are going to say about the last, say, 12 to
  141. 10:0524 months of our nation's history?
  142. 10:07Well, I think if they're, if they reek of anything with intelligence and curiosity and
  143. 10:15integrity, if they're honest, they will know what we all know.
  144. 10:20help us, we all know that Joe Biden was not running the White House. We now know it for
  145. 10:26million reasons. This is nothing new to those of us who keep up with this. But again, when
  146. 10:30you have automatic signatures and you're not even part of what's going on, you, and again,
  147. 10:36you can look at the footage and the sky was just bewildered all of the time. I mean, God,
  148. 10:42what was his wife doing to allow her sick husband to do this? What kind of party would do this
  149. 10:49a bunch of globalists. I think if history is recorded accurately, I think we will all
  150. 10:54know we've been duped. I think that we will have to revisit the issue of an election in
  151. 11:012020 being stolen. I think the numbers are there. That's not my opinion. We do very deep
  152. 11:07dies case in point. When you look at what just happened back in November, what happened
  153. 11:11to 30 plus million people that allegedly voted for Biden on the East Coast alone.
  154. 11:19Did they disappear?
  155. 11:20Where's those numbers, Alex?
  156. 11:21And again, these are not people.
  157. 11:23Well, they went over to a different party.
  158. 11:25No, no, that would make it a plus of 30 to 40 million votes.
  159. 11:30And all of a sudden, what did they do?
  160. 11:31Did they all die?
  161. 11:32Did they move to another country?
  162. 11:35These are issues that we cannot ignore.
  163. 11:37We can't say, well, that's behind us.
  164. 11:40Let's move over.
  165. 11:41move forward. We can't. So I think if history is recorded properly, I think that we will realize
  166. 11:47that God gave America grace. I believe not just in this issue of a presidency. I really believe this
  167. 11:55is spiritual. I believe it gave us an opportunity as Christians to evangelize, to do the work of the
  168. 12:02gospel, not just here, but abroad as well. And Alex, you understand, had the other party got in,
  169. 12:09not because I think this there's already evidence to this they were shutting down Christians shutting down anyone that believed in a heterosexual
  170. 12:19normative lifestyle they were promoting the LGBTQ all these things were going on and had we not have the grace of God I think history would
  171. 12:30record that we were probably going to lose in the words of Benjamin Franklin this great republic
  172. 12:36Indeed. You know, Aubrey, I'm not being flippant or trite or sarcastic, but this thought went
  173. 12:45through my mind after Donald Trump won and won by nearly 11 million votes. But Donald
  174. 12:53Trump dodged a bullet and so did America. Isn't that a fair assessment?
  175. 13:00I think it's more. I think it's excellent. I really do. And I don't say that because I
  176. 13:04I have such profound respect for you.
  177. 13:07I just think that your fingers on the posts here,
  178. 13:09I do, I said to our congregation prior and post
  179. 13:15our November date for voting for the next president.
  180. 13:19And again, I was incredibly clear.
  181. 13:21I'm not one of those pastors that would get up and say,
  182. 13:23it doesn't matter who you vote for.
  183. 13:25No, I was very clear.
  184. 13:26I've always, I always brought the receipts to our sanctuary.
  185. 13:30I showed the policies, the difference.
  186. 13:32And I would publicly say, and this
  187. 13:34is a reason I voted for Donald Trump.
  188. 13:36Now a lot of your audience may not know, but in 2016,
  189. 13:39I traveled for then candidate Donald J. Trump.
  190. 13:44I was the, and I say this everywhere I go,
  191. 13:46I was the only pastor in the United States of America
  192. 13:50when Hillary Clinton lost her election.
  193. 13:53She put me in her book by name
  194. 13:57as to the reason she lost the election.
  195. 13:59So I have some real skin in here.
  196. 14:02And because of that...
  197. 14:03Congratulations, by the way.
  198. 14:05Yeah, but I hear it all the time, but Alex,
  199. 14:08I tell you, buddy, I received the amount of threats
  200. 14:13that I think most had it not been for the grace of God.
  201. 14:16They would have folded.
  202. 14:18I don't think that they would have moved forward.
  203. 14:20It was overwhelming to so many people,
  204. 14:23but we continue to try out through those things.
  205. 14:27I would do it all over again
  206. 14:31had I had the opportunity to do it again.
  207. 14:33And so I believe that all of us that believe in
  208. 14:36age of jail, Christian, as those,
  209. 14:38I really believe that we're living in a period
  210. 14:41of some real grace here that we really shouldn't.
  211. 14:45So we've got to take a brief break.
  212. 14:46Alex McCrallen here with our very special guest,
  213. 14:49Aubrey Shines, don't go away.
  214. 14:50American Family Radio is back after this.
  215. 15:01A discipleship minute with Joseph Parker.
  216. 15:04The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
  217. 15:08I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
  218. 15:12I am the good shepherd.
  219. 15:13The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
  220. 15:16Verses 10 and 11 of John's chapter 10.
  221. 15:19Jesus is the good and the great shepherd.
  222. 15:21He's the greatest shepherd there ever was.
  223. 15:24He's a shepherd that can be trusted.
  224. 15:25John chapter 12 verse 49,
  225. 15:28"'For I have not spoken on my own authority,
  226. 15:31"'but the Father who sent me gave me a command,
  227. 15:35"'what I should say and what I should speak.'"
  228. 15:37The Lord Jesus Christ himself in his earthly ministry
  229. 15:40continually trusted his heavenly father,
  230. 15:43his heavenly father, his great shepherd,
  231. 15:46for wisdom, for guidance, and direction
  232. 15:48at every step of his life.
  233. 15:50He wasn't trying to do his own thing.
  234. 15:52He was simply trying to follow his heavenly father.
  235. 15:55And Jesus again, stands as a great role model
  236. 15:58for each of us.
  237. 16:05Shiting light into the darkness,
  238. 16:07this is the Hamilton Quarter, an American family radio.
  239. 16:12Welcome back to the program, our guest Aubrey Shines that will resume our conversation with

  267. 17:54AlexMcFarlane.com slash conversations.
  268. 17:57Over the last 25 years, in addition to doing exploring the word on the American Family Radio
  269. 18:02Network, I love to bring carefully chosen thinkers.
  270. 18:08opinion makers. It's been our joy to rent venues. We've had elected officials,
  271. 18:15Christians from the entertainment industry, great scholars, and it kind of
  272. 18:20reminds me at the soonest possible opportunity. I need to have Aubrey
  273. 18:24Shines come down and we'll book a Colosseum somewhere in America and hear
  274. 18:30from him. But people every week on Real America's voice, the show is
  275. 18:35America shines the voice the journalist behind it is Aubrey shines and he is our
  276. 18:41guest right now so brother thanks for being with us tonight I'm remiss I need
  277. 18:46to book you for a venue but until then we are glad that you're with us tonight
  278. 18:51always great being with you guys and I look forward if not I'll take it to the
  279. 18:58air that Alex was gonna book me and he never did and you'll get a lot of my
  280. 19:02I hate Mel, so there you go.
  281. 19:04There we go.
  282. 19:05Before the break, we were talking about how you were mentioned in one of Hillary Clinton's
  283. 19:12books for your support for Donald Trump.
  284. 19:16But in a way, we jokingly said that's a badge of honor.
  285. 19:20But here's the thing, and I want you to speak to this.
  286. 19:22If you're a Christian and you're a follower of Jesus and standing for God's Word, we should
  287. 19:30do that.
  288. 19:32going to be potentially there's a target on your back. But that's just part of the deal, isn't it?
  289. 19:37I mean, that's just for we disciples, I guess that's just an occupational hazard, isn't it?
  290. 19:43Yeah, it really is this powerful course. I mean, the apostles were incredibly clear that if you
  291. 19:49live for Christ, you're going to suffer persecution. I'm not sure why we try to avoid that portion of
  292. 19:54scripture. And I guess I get it to somebody, right? None of us wake up every day and go,
  293. 19:59Hey, gee, I hope this is one of those days that I get a chance to I don't know travel through the valley of the shadow of death
  294. 20:04I mean, I don't think any of us really really do that however
  295. 20:08When you choose biblical principles as a way of speaking again truth in a society that is very dark
  296. 20:17There must be opposition. I just never understood Alex the guys
  297. 20:23That have the mandate
  298. 20:25have the background, have what they say as a calling from God to do this great work, this great commission,
  299. 20:32but they're fearful.
  300. 20:34They're, I don't know any other better work, they're cowards, they won't speak.
  301. 20:39They assume, well people are going to think I'm political, well, we're all political,
  302. 20:44I don't care if it's not politics, if you and I are debating where we should go and have a bite to eat,
  303. 20:49that's a political argument. If we're debating anything, those are in the
  304. 20:54confined of the word politics. That's a political argument. Why shouldn't Christians vote their
  305. 21:01values? Why should we apologize for what we believe in? I think if we just did, and again, we did
  306. 21:11this past November overwhelmingly did so, we could stop all of these things. Why shouldn't our worldview
  307. 21:19be, I don't know, copied after scripture. And again, forgive me for just kind of hogging
  308. 21:26the moment when I say this, but it was the great apostle Paul that said, look, if it's
  309. 21:31possible, let's be at peace with all men. Again, there's a conjunction that's here. But how
  310. 21:37do we make those things possible? We are engaged. If we really have dominion in the earth, the
  311. 21:43way that God called us to have dominion to dominate, when I talk in theocracy, we're talking
  312. 21:49about influence here if we're really the salt, the light, then if there is a God that's for
  313. 21:57us, why would we be so hesitant, Alex, not to speak about these things publicly and especially,
  314. 22:05especially from the pulpit?
  315. 22:08And I think we're a lot of our leaders, my friend.
  316. 22:12I do.
  317. 22:13Hey, I want to give a script to the, there's so many current issues.
  318. 22:17The judge issued judges, activists, judges working to block Trump's really agenda and executive
  319. 22:27orders.
  320. 22:28But before we get into the headlines from God's word, in Jeremiah 29, seven, it says, seek the
  321. 22:34peace and prosperity of the city, into which I've carried you.
  322. 22:39Pray to the Lord for the city because if it prospers, you too will prosper.
  323. 22:44to the word politic is from the Greek word polis or polis, P-O-L-I-S, the Greek word for
  324. 22:51city. And if God's word tells us to seek the peace of the city that we're in and the polis,
  325. 23:00the city, we can have influence politically. I mean, isn't that really, and there are many
  326. 23:07New Testament Scriptures that I could give as well, Aubrey? But I feel like we've got
  327. 23:12the sanctioning and the affirmation of God
  328. 23:16to be salt and light in that public square,
  329. 23:19would you agree?
  330. 23:21Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
  331. 23:22Alex, again, I don't think that we should stop there.
  332. 23:25I think our influence should be everywhere,
  333. 23:28not just in politics, I happen to shepherd.
  334. 23:32And when I've had some of our young guys
  335. 23:34that went into the NFL,
  336. 23:35I didn't want them to change their perspective
  337. 23:37of those who I've known that I personally counseled
  338. 23:40out in Hollywood.
  339. 23:42And they would ask, hey, pastor, is it right for me to do C&A or C&B?
  340. 23:47I said, first of all, it's a conscious issue.
  341. 23:49But number two, does your values reflect in your ability to entertain?
  342. 23:54Are they asking you to become something that is counterintuitive to scripture?
  343. 24:00Now, if you can, some kind of way answer that question, you'll be exactly with the Lord,
  344. 24:05what really have you.
  345. 24:06And so when we don't influence, when we don't bring what we are and that's salvation, that's
  346. 24:14you know the Greek better than I, when we don't bring that salvation or that salt into something
  347. 24:20that is rotting and decaying, we're not doing our job.
  348. 24:24And again, I always will always hear me say this, Alex, I always go back to the pastors
  349. 24:30And let me say why it was the great priest prophet, Hosea, where you see it written, he
  350. 24:37says, the way the priest are is the way the people will become.
  351. 24:42Well, I go back even to Dr. Martin Luther King, he said, look, we're not talking about
  352. 24:49having a Theocracy.
  353. 24:50He says, but the church should be the conscious of the state.
  354. 24:54So if our consciousness being lived out in the elected officials that we support, then
  355. 25:00why are our pastors not taking a more prominent role in doing this?
  356. 25:08We see thousands of people on a weekly basis.
  357. 25:12Why are we not standing up to that challenge?
  358. 25:14If you're afraid to do it, I think you should resign.
  359. 25:18Find a young man, put that young man in office and let that young guy go that would be courageous
  360. 25:23in bold to change the landscape of our society. I believe that.
  361. 25:29Praise God, this is wisdom, folks. And if you're just tuning in, Alex McFarland here on the
  362. 25:34Hamilton Corner, the American Family Radio Network, we're talking with Bishop Aubrey
  363. 25:39Shines. He's not only a broadcaster and a journalist, his pastor and a shepherd. So I have a question,
  364. 25:46and this is not hypothetical. This comes from real conversations. In 2016 for FRC, I spoke
  365. 25:53at four different Trump events. And then in 2024, you know, radio on the road, I was doing
  366. 26:02a lot of interviews just for myself. And obviously, you know, as a minister, I was trying to help
  367. 26:10people think about the election from a biblical perspective. But here's what a pastor said to
  368. 26:16me and Aubrey I could give you a dozen variants of this conversation.
  369. 26:22Pastors would say, but Alex, I've been at my church 20 years kid.
  370. 26:28I got a retire here and look, I'd love to lay the cards on the table, but man, I got some
  371. 26:35members they would be upset.
  372. 26:37So here's the question, how does a pastor get out of the velvet handcuffs?
  373. 26:43And I think you know what I mean by velvet.
  374. 26:46Yeah, I do.
  375. 26:47Yeah, I do.
  376. 26:48Give us a word of encouragement.
  377. 26:51You know, pastors, I'd say to all of you pastors that are listening.
  378. 26:55Here's the question metaphorically that Christ asked.
  379. 27:00If you want to live, he said, then die.
  380. 27:03I mean, it really comes back to that.
  381. 27:05He said, you want to live?
  382. 27:07Okay.
  383. 27:08Well, then die.
  384. 27:09If we're not afraid to die to those things at hand cuffed us, money, etc., then we're
  385. 27:15doing it for the wrong reason.
  386. 27:17Alex, I had pastors to say to me, and I have a lot of pastors that follow me on a weekly
  387. 27:24basis.
  388. 27:25They really, really do.
  389. 27:26And I hear things like this, hey, Aubrey, I really, really love you, man.
  390. 27:31And I don't know these guys.
  391. 27:32Alex, by the way, but they'll ride or they will DM me.
  392. 27:36I really love you.
  393. 27:37You're bold, you're courageous.
  394. 27:39And these are senior leaders as I am a senior leader.
  395. 27:43But man, if I did that, and then exactly what you just said, Alex, I hear it almost verbatim.
  396. 27:49And they always ask, what do you recommend?
  397. 27:52And I'm not trying to be, I hope I never come off as condescending when they ask that question.
  398. 27:58I said, I don't know, maybe lay on your face before the Lord and first start with repenting.
  399. 28:04Ask them to forgive you for not being bold and courageous.
  400. 28:07This is what you would call it to do.
  401. 28:09And if you feel for whatever the reason that you can no longer fulfill that particular mandate,
  402. 28:15then you should resign, become like the Levites of old, serve your 20 years, get on out of
  403. 28:21there and let another young courageous guy step up and let him take that mantle.
  404. 28:28Because if you really got to, I don't know, try to find a way to juxtapose between not
  405. 28:33hurting people's feelings and hurting people's feelings.
  406. 28:36I think they're in the wrong vocation or if they started out correctly, repentance would
  407. 28:42really, really help here because if they really just repent, ask Dr. Forgive them and
  408. 28:47power them and then get back out there. And if you die, die, but know that as in the old
  409. 28:54hymn, you die in the army of the Lord. Amen. Yeah, you know, folks, let me just say this
  410. 29:00regarding young people. They are hungry for truth. Since 1998, we've done literally dozens
  411. 29:07of conferences and then by God's grace I give God the glory I've spoken in 2,200 American
  412. 29:13churches. We've done surveys. Aubrey, our ministry, we're just a small ministry and my goodness,
  413. 29:22we're not huge. But we have done a quarter million surveys of young people. I'm talking
  414. 29:29middle school from really middle school through twenties. And the amazing thing, and
  415. 29:35this is why we want the pastors to speak out, is because on these moral social issues, you
  416. 29:41know, if you wanted direction about life, abortion, gender, sexuality, heaven, hell,
  417. 29:48you know, we've asked a lot of questions, biblical worldview, the number one place that, and this
  418. 29:55for 25, 26 years. Kids, they say, well, I guess I would talk to my mother or dad, my
  419. 30:01parent. Now we hear about peer pressure and there is the internet but the number
  420. 30:08one voice that young people and this is held true for two decades plus is a
  421. 30:15parent or maybe a grandparent, a trusted family member, trusted respected but number
  422. 30:23three generally ahead of peers or it's a clergy like my pastor my youth pastor I
  423. 30:34mean we've done some of the events at universities you know priest or or rabbi
  424. 30:38but here's my point ministers you have more entree you have more cache into the
  425. 30:47lives of young people then you might realize therefore let's take this
  426. 30:52opportunity speak truth into these open hearts and minds that are looking to us for spiritual
  427. 30:58and moral guidance. I love it. I do. Christianity today once asked me a question. I was doing
  428. 31:05something in Washington. I didn't know they were there. I didn't know they were kind of
  429. 31:10hidden within the crowd. And it went something like this. I had made a comment. I was one of the
  430. 31:15guest guys that was there. And I said to this, Alex, without even really thinking about it,
  431. 31:21I said, well, the average church in America is somewhere with men, somewhere between 7.4
  432. 31:27and 9.2, 9.3, whatever that exact number is. I said, but where I shepherd, where I'm the senior leader,
  433. 31:33we have a little over 40, 41% of our congregants are men. Well, the Christianity today reporter
  434. 31:40asked, well, again, I didn't know that's who he was. How did you do that? And I was stunned. I did not
  435. 31:46have the answer, I said, I don't know. And I honestly did, I know fast forward, went back to the local
  436. 31:53church, connected with our chief therapists there at the church and asked her to help me conduct a
  437. 31:58poll. I wanted to find out why are these men here? I never thought about it. I never thought about,
  438. 32:03this is a large number of men here and a lot were young men, but these were strong, you know,
  439. 32:09men that worked out, loved God kind of a thing. Here's what they said. In a nutshell, this is what
  440. 32:15what they said because you're bold enough to address topic and issues that we've never
  441. 32:19heard anyone address before except for Muslims and people like Louis Farrakhan in the nation
  442. 32:24of Islam. Those were the exact words. That's scary.
  443. 32:28Alright folks, when we come back we're going to open up the fountains. The number
  444. 32:32triple eight five eight nine eighty eight forty triple eight five eight nine eighty eight
  445. 32:37forty. If you have a question, comment, we're going to talk about some current events. We
  446. 32:41We would love to hear from you, our very special guest, Pastor, broadcaster, Aubrey
  447. 32:46Shines, and we'll converse more after this break.
  448. 32:49Stay tuned to the American Family Radio Network.
  449. 33:00Meet Kelsey.
  450. 33:01When she found out she was pregnant, she wasn't sure where to turn.
  451. 33:05But after meeting with the counselors at a pre-born network clinic who loved and supported
  452. 33:09her, and after hearing her baby's heartbeat on a free ultrasound, she chose life.
  453. 33:15When a mother looks at her child through a sonogram, it does something to you.
  454. 33:27You know, I ended up deciding to keep my son, who is now five years old today.
  455. 33:33He's amazing.
  456. 33:35He brings absolute joy to my heart.
  457. 33:36I could not imagine life without him.
  458. 33:39Not only did they help me save his life, they saved my life.
  459. 33:44By introducing a woman to her baby on ultrasound, a baby's chance at life doubles.

  465. 34:13The Hamilton Quarter Podcast and One-Bitted Common Terrets are available at EFR.net back
  466. 34:24to the Hamilton Quarter on American Family Radio.
  467. 34:28Okay, if you've ever wanted to raise your hand during a sermon, here's your chance.
  468. 34:35We're talking with Aubrey Shines, great thinker and communicator.
  469. 34:40And the number, by the way, if you've got a question, it's
  470. 34:42triple eight, five, eight, nine, eight, eight, 40, toll-free,
  471. 34:46nationwide, on the American Family Radio Network.
  472. 34:49We'd love to hear from you, triple eight, five, eight, nine,
  473. 34:52eight, eight, 40, and we will entertain any and all questions.
  474. 34:58Hey, before the break, we were talking about getting men in
  475. 35:02church, and hey, thank God for godly women.
  476. 35:06But you know, so much about the church, I don't think we've really spoken to men's issues.
  477. 35:15We've not affirmed manhood and masculinity.
  478. 35:19And yet God's word has a lot to say about being a man, being a godly man.
  479. 35:26And that's a topic.
  480. 35:28You've addressed it.
  481. 35:29And as you were sharing, the fruit is undeniable.
  482. 35:33But don't you think we need to be a little more intentional and proactive about how we
  483. 35:38minister to men?
  484. 35:40Absolutely.
  485. 35:41Intentionality is everything.
  486. 35:42Again, if we don't intentionally go after men, I think we're going to miss the bigger
  487. 35:48picture.
  488. 35:49I tell you what I found quickly.
  489. 35:51I find wherever there are a lot of men, women feel very secure at that moment.
  490. 35:57I took a, I did something I thought was pretty unique.
  491. 36:00I had our men in the congregation one day to circle the entire church inside.
  492. 36:05I wanted them to hold hands and we embraced the entire team and have a large sanctuary there.
  493. 36:12They embraced the entirety of the sanctuary.
  494. 36:15I looked at the ladies faces out there.
  495. 36:17Alex, I cannot embellish this.
  496. 36:21They were weeping.
  497. 36:22They didn't even know why I was doing it.
  498. 36:23They started weeping.
  499. 36:24I called out a few individuals.
  500. 36:26Why are you weeping?
  501. 36:27They said, and it was a very touching, breaking moment.
  502. 36:31They said, we feel so secure here.
  503. 36:33There's a sense of security.
  504. 36:35When men are there, just like when a dad is in the home,
  505. 36:39I tell you something about those kids,
  506. 36:41they know daddy's here, we're gonna be okay.
  507. 36:43And I think men represent that,
  508. 36:45but if we strain the men and don't allow their roar
  509. 36:49to come out, if we emasculate them,
  510. 36:52if we tell them that, no, no, there's no difference
  511. 36:55between you and a lady in sports or whatever it is,
  512. 36:58we'll lose an entire generation.
  513. 37:01We must be able to speak these type of truths,
  514. 37:04regardless of offending people along the way.
  515. 37:07I'm telling you, it will foster an environment
  516. 37:11where the women will feel very safe
  517. 37:14being in a place like that.
  518. 37:16Amen, amen.
  519. 37:17You know, we, scholars use the term,
  520. 37:21Amaga Day image of God made in God's image and you know Genesis 1 26 27 says God made
  521. 37:31Male and female made in God's image. Do you believe the the LGBTQ trans and the push to erase?
  522. 37:42objective gender
  523. 37:44recognition that
  524. 37:46Maleness is an objective category of being.
  525. 37:51Femaleness is an objective category of humanity.
  526. 37:57This erasing of gender boundaries, is that an attack on the fact that we're made in God's
  527. 38:04image?
  528. 38:05Absolutely.
  529. 38:06And we know it is because we watch nations like China, people like George Soros, they
  530. 38:11will support groups, whether it is the LGBTQ or Black Lives Matter group of lesbian, Black
  531. 38:18women who hate biblical heterosexual normity. These are intentional attacks. Why is it, Alex?
  532. 38:25And I say this to you, of course, I know you know the answer. These countries that will put
  533. 38:30billions of dollars into our nation destroying our men, they don't even allow it on their TV sets.
  534. 38:36But they will invest into Disney and other places to again make our men feel this is why
  535. 38:45when you watch a TV, a television show, usually the gay character, smart, witty, happy, funny,
  536. 38:52and everyone loves them.
  537. 38:53But let there be a strong dad who's protective over his daughter or son.
  538. 38:58He's out of touch.
  539. 38:59He's a square and he's ignorant and he looks like a buffoon.
  540. 39:03a reason that's intentional and the church has a responsibility to show it very different.
  541. 39:09You're right. I mean, yes folks, think about primetime entertainment. A masculine male is either a
  542. 39:16buffoon or a toxic alpha male, roid rage, you know, they're either a dangerous monster or a buffoon.
  543. 39:29The idea of upright, mature, healthy, balanced, masculine man, I can't think of a prime time
  544. 39:41show where you'll find that kind of a figure.
  545. 39:43It doesn't exist.
  546. 39:44That's why you can't think of it.
  547. 39:46It doesn't come to mind.
  548. 39:47But yet a million other things can come to mind.
  549. 39:49And think about this.
  550. 39:50We know this is true, Alex, for a different reason.
  551. 39:52I did a show on this one.
  552. 39:54that I've spoke on this same topic, even from our pulpit,
  553. 39:57every business has been developed to serve the people
  554. 40:01and to make a profit.
  555. 40:03That's a fact.
  556. 40:04Fast forward.
  557. 40:05Why is it that the majority of these places
  558. 40:07like marble and Disney, they're not even making money,
  559. 40:10but yet they keep doing the same thing.
  560. 40:11It proves one thing to you.
  561. 40:13It's not just about profit.
  562. 40:14It's about changing a person's thought process.
  563. 40:18Let's get them away from God.
  564. 40:19Let's infiltrate the kids.
  565. 40:21We all know this of a certain age.
  566. 40:23When we were kids, I don't care if it was Batman,
  567. 40:25Captain America, Hulk, it could be Superman,
  568. 40:29all of us tried to emulate those characters
  569. 40:31that we saw, because we saw them as our heroes.
  570. 40:35Well, now, what are we looking at?
  571. 40:37Transgender kids, kids that don't take a position,
  572. 40:41our boys are now wearing fingernail polish.
  573. 40:44We can't tell the difference in them
  574. 40:46to speak out against it, your homophobic, transphobic,
  575. 40:49or some sort of phobic.
  576. 40:50And again, I go back to the church,
  577. 40:52I have to do this, Alex.
  578. 40:54It's about leadership.
  579. 40:55If the leaders were to speak out, speak against,
  580. 40:58and vote, we could change this whole idea.
  581. 41:02Indeed.
  582. 41:02I know we've got collars on hold.
  583. 41:04We're going to begin to pick up the phone here in just a second.
  584. 41:06Numbers triple eight, five, eight, nine, 88, 40.
  585. 41:10We're going to begin in Texas.
  586. 41:12We've got Monty and Texas.
  587. 41:15Monty, are you still there?
  588. 41:17I am here.
  589. 41:18How are you guys?
  590. 41:19Good.
  591. 41:20Thanks for holding.
  592. 41:21What you got, Monty?
  593. 41:22Absolutely.
  594. 41:23I just very much appreciate your willingness to be honest.
  595. 41:28I'm a soccer coach of a varsity soccer team, high school boys here.
  596. 41:34I didn't become a believer until I was 27.
  597. 41:37And to understand the beautiful game and how beautiful are the feet that bring what?
  598. 41:44The gospel.
  599. 41:45The goodness.
  600. 41:46But you teach them to play the beautiful game.
  601. 41:49And then it doesn't matter where they're going in the world.
  602. 41:52That's what the world worships.
  603. 41:54And I tell them all the time, the place you're standing
  604. 41:58is the mission field you are called to.
  605. 42:00And if you're breathing, you're in ministry.
  606. 42:04And that's so much.
  607. 42:06They don't hear that.
  608. 42:08I'll dare them all the time.
  609. 42:09Show me your friends.
  610. 42:10I'll show you your future.
  611. 42:13And they're like, oh, wow.
  612. 42:15And so I just very much appreciate,
  613. 42:20step into the light.
  614. 42:22If you're stepping into the light,
  615. 42:23If you're coming out of the darkness, everybody's so consumed with what will people think of
  616. 42:27me, no, no, no.
  617. 42:29The light is the author of life.
  618. 42:31It's our creator.
  619. 42:32It's our savior.
  620. 42:33And if your focus is on him, you don't really care that much about the next person.
  621. 42:38You're coming closer to each other as you draw to him.
  622. 42:42And I just want to say this.
  623. 42:44Hey, I want to commend you because you're being a leader and you're influencing people.
  624. 42:49I can think of two coaches that were in my formative years and I didn't become a Christian
  625. 42:56though, I was 21.
  626. 42:57But Monty, you're doing God's work by speaking truth, being a role model.
  627. 43:03Aubrey, we need a lot of guys like this to invest themselves in the lives of young people,
  628. 43:09don't we?
  629. 43:10Yeah, we really do and it doesn't matter where you are.
  630. 43:12Again, I always emphasize these senior pastors because I am one.
  631. 43:17With that being said, we need guys like Monty to come along and work with us to say,
  632. 43:21hey, come on, get in a church, get involved.
  633. 43:24And again, I don't apologize if you're in a church that's afraid to be involved and talk
  634. 43:29about issues of this magnitude.
  635. 43:30I don't care who the pastor is, you need to go.
  636. 43:33You need to leave it.
  637. 43:34Time out.
  638. 43:35You have to redeem the time and understand that these are real pertinent issues that must
  639. 43:40be addressed.
  640. 43:41If we're going to win, we got to be around guys that will help discipline us to do so.
  641. 43:47So my point well made.
  642. 43:49Thanks so much.
  643. 43:50Let's still in Texas, let's go to Laura.
  644. 43:53Laura in Texas, thanks for holding welcome to the American Family Radio Network.
  645. 43:57Hi, thank you.
  646. 44:01I just wanted to say thank you for encouraging good leadership and strong leadership in churches,
  647. 44:12especially with our men in churches,
  648. 44:15because it starts at the head of the church
  649. 44:19to preach and to feed into the heads of the household.
  650. 44:24And it strengthens our families to an immense level
  651. 44:28that I know you know, but I just wanna say thank you
  652. 44:32and encourage you that there are people out there
  653. 44:34that are looking for strong leadership in churches
  654. 44:38that are encouraging men to be strong leaders
  655. 44:41in their communities and in their families so that they are held accountable to that higher
  656. 44:46level so that they do have those higher levels that they are achieving to and they're walking
  657. 44:51with Christ and sharing with their communities and their families. Again, I just want to say
  658. 44:55thank you. It's just it's great to hear it.
  659. 44:59To God, Lord. Yeah, Lord, thanks so much. Very encouraging and for your prayers, your concern
  660. 45:06and your observation or thank you. That's fantastic.
  661. 45:09Hey, by the way folks we do seven youth camps every summer. Here's a website for you folks equip retreat.org
  662. 45:17equip retreat.org this summer we'll have
  663. 45:211200 middle schoolers and high schoolers in seven camps Iowa Montana
  664. 45:26We've got a camp this year in Richmond, Virginia
  665. 45:29well right outside of Richmond and go to equip retreat.org and and let me say and
  666. 45:36and brother Aubrey, I think you might appreciate this.
  667. 45:38We have a lot of volunteers, a lot of staff at our camps.
  668. 45:42I mean, we do all the fun stuff, zip lines, hiking in Montana.
  669. 45:46We have horseback riding, but we teach biblical worldview
  670. 45:50and we teach citizenship.
  671. 45:52And I bring in speakers, we talk about government.
  672. 45:54We've had David Barton and Tim Barton.
  673. 45:56But the female adult counselors, they counsel the young ladies.
  674. 46:03And then we talk about guys.
  675. 46:05We talked with the guys, I and my male counselors that we trained.
  676. 46:10It's interesting, Aubrey, last summer we were doing our camp and we were talking about defending
  677. 46:16a biblical worldview.
  678. 46:18During the Q&A, at a ninth grade boy, he was like, Mr. McFarland, I've got a question.
  679. 46:23I said, sure, what you got?
  680. 46:24He said, how did you find Angie?
  681. 46:27And you and Angie have been married 35 years.
  682. 46:30Love it.
  683. 46:31How do I find?
  684. 46:32He said, you know, this is years from now, how do you find a godly girl?
  685. 46:38And here's the thing that kids are hungry for truth.
  686. 46:42And there's a lot of these kids, they're thinking about the family that they want to build one
  687. 46:48day, that they maybe never had growing up.
  688. 46:50I think we have a grand opportunity to talk about God, family, finding that right spouse,
  689. 46:58making a difference in our nation.
  690. 47:01got a great opportunity and I think kids are hungry for it.
  691. 47:04I do too. I really do. Kids are resilient. We all know this. I mean, they want to ask real questions
  692. 47:11and here's what they don't want. They don't want some stuffy answer. They want you to come down on
  693. 47:16their level, talk to them that way they can understand it. This is why, again, we can reach them if we
  694. 47:24just be honest with them about life and issues and things that really matter to them, but bring it
  695. 47:30back to a Christ-centered life and they'll see it, they'll and they'll smell through the,
  696. 47:36you know, the things that they shouldn't be smelling. They'll go, something is wrong with this here.
  697. 47:42We have an opportunity to do these things. And this is why our relationship, not to
  698. 47:46Shoo and I, Alex, but other guys around this nation being involved, shows like yours,
  699. 47:52shows like Hamilton here. I know you're sitting in, I've had them on my show before. Fantastic
  700. 47:57guy. We must unite to come together to do things like this if we're really going to make a difference.
  701. 48:04And don't be afraid to talk about it. Whether it's racial issues, whatever it is, someone
  702. 48:10has to have the courage, be bold enough. Let's talk. And if we do it, I think we'll be the
  703. 48:15better for it.
  704. 48:17And let me say a word to the godly young ladies out there. Don't settle. Okay, young ladies,
  705. 48:24that night, K-N-I-G-H-T. Listen, if that guy doesn't love Jesus, he's not going to fully
  706. 48:31love you. So I beg young ladies, you pray for that man of God. Somewhere there's a man of
  707. 48:39God praying for a woman of God. And I want to tell you, the person you choose as a spouse
  708. 48:47that's going to define so much. Listen, I know we had other callers and I apologize
  709. 48:51colors. We're almost out of time. Bishop Aubrey Shines again, websites where
