  9. 0:26Let's not miss our moment.
  10. 0:29And now the Hamilton Corner.
  11. 0:31Good evening, everybody.
  12. 0:34Welcome to the Hamilton Corner here on American Family Radio.
  13. 0:37I am your host, Abraham Hamilton the third.
  14. 0:40Thank you for tuning into the program.
  15. 0:43This evening I'm joined as is our custom or per usual.
  16. 0:48Wow.
  17. 0:50My fancy feet right across from me.
  18. 0:54I didn't send it to him.
  19. 0:54You know what I'm talking about.
  20. 0:57Have you seen it?
  21. 0:58You saw get loose now.
  22. 1:01Take it to the house.
  23. 1:05Right across from me, my man, 100 grand, fancy feet, Mr. Bobby.
  24. 1:14Don't come too close.
  25. 1:15You might slide on you.
  26. 1:18And the screening room produced extraordinary.
  27. 1:21All of the Nemetated never duplicated.
  28. 1:22The real Jay Mac, ladies and gentlemen, is in the screening room.
  29. 1:25And we were ready to rock and roll with today's edition of the program.
  30. 1:28At this very moment, many of you, if not, most of you are making your
  31. 1:31transition from your part time jobs where you generate an income to your full time jobs,
  32. 1:36where you cultivate an outcome.
  33. 1:37And as you do so, I want to remind you to do so with intentionality.
  34. 1:42There are all kinds of things that are happening.
  35. 1:44I mean, the Wall Street Journal came across a draft executive order from President Trump
  36. 1:51directing the now confirmed Secretary of Education and Department of Education, Linda McMahon
  37. 1:56And to take all appropriate legally available steps in order to shut down the Department
  38. 2:05of Education.
  39. 2:06It's a draft.
  40. 2:07Now it's a draft.
  41. 2:08It's a draft as the admin sign yet, but it's a draft that's happening.
  42. 2:14And you know, if you've been listening to show, I'd tell you in order for that to happen,
  43. 2:17ultimately is going to require congressional participation.
  44. 2:21You're going to have to have a filibuster proof majority in the Senate in order to get it done
  45. 2:24in company.
  46. 2:25totality, however, there are things that can be done incrementally.
  47. 2:29For example, the Office for Civil Rights within the Department of Education, that can be transferred
  48. 2:34over to the Department of Justice.
  49. 2:36No need for a Department of Education specific Office of Civil Rights when you have an Office
  50. 2:41of Civil Rights already within the Department of Justice.
  51. 2:44Also the Department of Education's student loan branch that can be moved over to the Treasury
  52. 2:51department. No need to have a secondary almost duplicative financial
  53. 2:56iteration and what you can do through executive action is to winnow the scope
  54. 3:01of the Department of Education to get it to a place to where it is manageable and
  55. 3:06palatable for the Department of Education to ultimately with a filibuster proof
  56. 3:12majority which could potentially be available after the midterms in 2026 to
  57. 3:17put the final death nail into that Department of Education. And in terms of federal funds used
  58. 3:23to stop gap, state education departments, education departments, you can make those assiminations
  59. 3:31directly via congressional appropriations from the Treasury Department. Right now the Department
  60. 3:35of Education is serving as an intermediary. Congress makes the appropriations, they appropriated
  61. 3:40to the DOE, then the DOE makes the dissemination. But we can stop, cut the middleman out and
  62. 3:45still have that direct flow to the states at the state level placing the control within
  63. 3:52the hands of people closest to the children.
  64. 3:54Just for an example.
  65. 3:55And then you also have the wonderful five for decision by the US Supreme Court, a brief
  66. 4:04unsigned decision.
  67. 4:06But we know who the majority is because we have a dissent from the opinion.
  68. 4:10What I'm talking about is the Supreme Court's decision to deny President Trump's request to
  69. 4:15freeze funds, almost $2 billion, $1.9 billion distributed through USAID. The court decided,
  70. 4:27now we're not going to roll president Trump. And we know who the dissenters are. Justice
  71. 4:30Scalia, Alito wrote the dissent joined by Justice Thomas Gorsuch in Kavanaugh. Hmm, that's
  72. 4:35four. Who are the five left remaining? Clearly it is Chief Justice John Roberts, Amy Coney
  73. 4:40Baird, Justice Soan, so to my yard, Justice Katau Jibran Jackson and Justice Elena Kagan.
  74. 4:44the five to which Justice Scalia wrote he stunned that a district court judge has the
  75. 4:52authority which Alito Senua does not to direct to the federal government that you need to
  76. 4:57make these expenditures.
  77. 5:01It's amazing.
  78. 5:03It's amazing.
  79. 5:04Justice Alito said he stunned and one of the major things is because the district court
  80. 5:10judge tried to present his order as if it was a temporary restraining order to his Justice
  81. 5:16Alito says, how can you force the federal government to spend $2 billion, which they won't be able
  82. 5:21to get back and say that that's a temporary order? It ain't temporary on no planet. But
  83. 5:27we have to be intentional about not allowing those things to encroach upon our commitment
  84. 5:33to be salt and light in the home. We'll deal with the Supreme Court, but not at the expense
  85. 5:38of what happens at our home. This is why I remind us what goes on in your house is far
  86. 5:43more important than what goes on in the White House. To the word of God, we go, do the right
  87. 5:46I don't think you should underestimate just the downstream consequences of that would be a sassen who showed up on break. I'm sorry, I en route to justice break Kavanaugh's house with zip ties and duct tape and toe. Some of these justices are afraid, man, for themselves and for their families.
  88. 6:08with zip ties and duct tape and toe.
  89. 6:12Some of these justices are afraid, man,
  90. 6:14for themselves and for their families.
  91. 6:17You got pretty close, people, he was arrested.
  92. 6:20To the word of God, we go Deuteronomy chapter four.
  93. 6:25As you know, the book of Deuteronomy
  94. 6:28includes Moses' address to the second generation
  95. 6:31of wildernesses, your lights,
  96. 6:32and he includes a portion there
  97. 6:35that is something that I believe
  98. 6:36that should be aspirational for all of us
  99. 6:39to one degree or another, if not directly applicable to us.
  100. 6:42Deuteronomy 4 verse 9 you see something there, a jewel is hitting there and in fact Jeff Shambly
  101. 6:50from the stand radio, talked about this when he was on the program a while back, and there's
  102. 6:56something that has stuck with me since then, listens to the text Deuteronomy 4 verse 9 it says
  103. 7:01this, only give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently so that you do not forget the things
  104. 7:09with your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life,
  105. 7:18but make them known to your sons and your grand sons. Make them known to your sons and your
  106. 7:26grand sons. We talk on this program quite a bit about the responsibility to Biblical Mandate for
  107. 7:33parents to rear our children in the nurturing admonition of the Lord. I want to present to you
  108. 7:39hear the scripture given an indication that there also should be an aspiration for godliness
  109. 7:45when we have grand. So to say that differently to be a more seasoned chronologically seasoned
  110. 7:52saint and still be godly. We have, man, what a tremendous dearth in our nation of godliness
  111. 8:03and family structure where we have more material wealth than we've had in times past.
  112. 8:09of course with a little deflation to go with it of course.
  113. 8:12But if you look at the core of our society, man, we have degraded in such a degree where
  114. 8:19it's very difficult, very difficult.
  115. 8:24We in fact have, and I understand the culture phenomenon, we have people who don't want to
  116. 8:28age, you know, we don't want to be older and I'm not trying to throw shade on anyone, we
  117. 8:32want to color our hair, we want to dye this and dye that because we want to look a certain
  118. 8:35way.
  119. 8:36But I just want to challenge that.
  120. 8:37It is a good thing.
  121. 8:39As the scripture says,
  122. 8:40a holy head is a crown of life
  123. 8:41if it's found in the way of righteousness.
  124. 8:42It's a good thing to be older and wiser
  125. 8:47and to be grounded and to be a vessel of honor
  126. 8:50for the Lord's glory, to be a resource
  127. 8:53for generations that are coming behind us.
  128. 8:55Not because we are gonna be shelved.
  129. 8:58I've explained before that the concept of retirement
  130. 9:00is not a biblical concept.
  131. 9:02And I'm talking about the mindset and the heart disposition.
  132. 9:04I'm not saying you have to work.
  133. 9:05He worked on a job for 20, 30, 40 years.
  134. 9:08And you have to keep working on it.
  135. 9:10I'm not saying that.
  136. 9:11No, but I'm saying the mindset is even if you changed occupation and income generating capacity,
  137. 9:16we don't develop the mindset that way, hey, that's it.
  138. 9:19I'm just going to sit back here and flowery beds of ease and do nothing.
  139. 9:25That's one of the major reasons why some of our people as they age, and I'm not diminishing
  140. 9:29the reality of disease and other things of that nature, but as they age, one of the things
  141. 9:33that exacerbates mental deterioration is a lack of stimulation, no longer engaged.
  142. 9:40But if you're listening to me and you might and you would, I'd, and recognize that you
  143. 9:44are among the more chronologically seasoned brethren, I just want to say it plainly, man,
  144. 9:50we need you.
  145. 9:51We need you.
  146. 9:52We need you.
  147. 9:53There's a reason why the intertestamental period doesn't is not broached until the Lord
  148. 10:00articulates to the prophet Malachi that the hearts of the fathers will be turned to the
  149. 10:04and the hearts of the children will be turned to the fathers.
  150. 10:08This concept of this generational breakdown to where, you know,
  151. 10:11we are age segregated in this segment of society,
  152. 10:14where age segregated here, it deprives us of having this intergenerational,
  153. 10:19uh, uh, fortitude, frankly.
  154. 10:21That's derived from the youth being connected to the wisdom
  155. 10:24and the wisdom being connected to the youth
  156. 10:25in this free flow, this free exchange that transpires,
  157. 10:28that causes vitality to abound in every segment.
  158. 10:33I'm gonna say it again, man.
  159. 10:34We need the season saints.
  160. 10:36We need the older brethren.
  161. 10:38We need the wise men to pour wisdom into the young men.
  162. 10:42We need the older sisters, the wise sisters to pour wisdom into the young
  163. 10:46sisters without any dearth, without any breakage.
  164. 10:50Much of what we're dealing with is generational breakdown simply because the
  165. 10:54enemy has been effective in destroying families in our societies.
  166. 10:58We don't have to allow that to continue though.
  167. 11:01And if you're in a place where the Lord has been able to restore you and
  168. 11:03we're storing this such a way, man, we need you until the Lord says this,
  169. 11:08a wrap. This scripture is another one of those that I want to encourage you to put
  170. 11:13opinion for those who are younger listening to the program. Man, aspire to be one of
  171. 11:17these grands who has wisdom to pour into younger generations. If you are a younger
  172. 11:22person, aspire to have the elders wisdom available to you and seek it, pursue it
  173. 11:28to put into practice in your own lives. And I'm sick and tired of the world and in
  174. 11:35and all these cultural forces robbing us
  175. 11:38of things that God made to be an inheritance for us.
  176. 11:43We don't need our old essays trying to hide
  177. 11:45their age and wisdom.
  178. 11:46And I'm not denying that some of the natural things
  179. 11:49that are happening with, you know,
  180. 11:51older, but I'm gonna tell you one thing,
  181. 11:53it shouldn't necessarily be an automatic
  182. 11:55that we just accept that as we age,
  183. 11:58we are going to have poor health.
  184. 11:59Says, ooh, why do we have to accept that?
  185. 12:03Surely there are just ways that have to be made
  186. 12:05and things that have to be taken into sitters,
  187. 12:07But we shouldn't just automatically say,
  188. 12:08oh, well, you know, this is the way it's going to be.
  189. 12:13Brothers and sisters, and I'm particularly speaking
  190. 12:17to our older brothers and sisters chronologically,
  191. 12:19we need you, we need you, we need you.
  192. 12:23We don't need you to go silent,
  193. 12:25we don't need you to fade to the background,
  194. 12:27we need you front and center, we need you front and center.
  195. 12:33There's a reason why the scripture bears it, bears it out.
  196. 12:37Then one of the indications of judgment on Israel
  197. 12:39that had documented, for example,
  198. 12:40Isaiah chapters one, two and three, it says that boys will be their
  199. 12:44princes.
  200. 12:45He's not just talking about useful in age.
  201. 12:47There were times when you had God the king to came from being
  202. 12:50used like Josiah, but those were the exceptions.
  203. 12:53What the scripture is saying is that what the Lord is saying through the
  204. 12:56scripture is that one of the indications of a lack of God's grace upon the land
  205. 13:02is that they don't have any wisdom amongst the elders.
  206. 13:07And so you have neophytes running the show.
  207. 13:11And that's much of what we have in various segments of society.
  208. 13:17I certainly am not one to despise youth.
  209. 13:19There are a lot of people I'm younger, even though I'm not as young as I used to be.
  210. 13:26It's amazing, man.
  211. 13:27I've been here at AFA now going on nine years.
  212. 13:31It's about to be a decade.
  213. 13:35Well, that went by just like that.
  214. 13:39This is something that we need to embrace and incorporate at a core level.
  215. 13:44Only give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently so that you do not forget the things
  216. 13:48with your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life,
  217. 13:54but make them known, make them known to your sons and your grandsons.
  218. 14:01Make them known, make them known.
  219. 14:05We need the season saints man with all hands on death.
  220. 14:07For the younger folks, this is something one of the things we should aspire towards, to
  221. 14:13the Lord Terry.
  222. 14:15For our less young folks we need you.
  223. 14:18Don't disqualify yourself because the world says something about your age and I'm not excluding
  224. 14:22If there are real limitations of various circumstances, I get that for sure.
  225. 14:27But sometimes we self-sensor.
  226. 14:32We check ourselves out of the game because we think, well, the world says they're done
  227. 14:36with this.
  228. 14:37Not in the body of Christ, man.
  229. 14:38We need the season set.
  230. 14:42We need to have the body of Christ filled with people.
  231. 14:44But the stage of life when you could have grants or you do have grants, then you are a source,
  232. 14:50a resource for the glory of our King because we need you.
  233. 15:00A discipleship minute with Joseph Parker.
  234. 15:03In the tragic abortion debate today,
  235. 15:06with people who say that they love the Lord
  236. 15:08on both sides of the issue, who is right?
  237. 15:11A bigger question is, who decides what is right or wrong?
  238. 15:15Who decides what pleases the Lord
  239. 15:18and what does not please him?
  240. 15:20God does.
  241. 15:21God tells us his perspective and thoughts.
  242. 15:24He tells us what is right and what is wrong in his word.
  243. 15:28In the present cultural landscape,
  244. 15:30We can actually determine who is right and who is wrong.
  245. 15:33We can see who is on the Lord's side and who is not.
  246. 15:37It's not a matter of who is God's siding with.
  247. 15:40God doesn't take sides.
  248. 15:42He gives us his word, and if we line up with his word,
  249. 15:46we end up on the right side of an issue.
  250. 15:49Let's rise up and faithfully stand for life
  251. 15:51and help end the tragedy of abortion in our culture
  252. 15:55and world.
  253. 16:06Shining light into the darkness.
  254. 16:08This is the Hamilton Corner, an American family radio.
  255. 16:12Welcome back to the Hamilton Corner, Abraham Hamilton.
  256. 16:14The third here I am delighted to have on the show with me
  257. 16:17in studio, a man who truly will go down in history.
  258. 16:23As the very first, I'll give some of the other accolades.
  259. 16:26I'll get to the very first in a moment,
  260. 16:28but he is a best-selling author,
  261. 16:31a dedicated Christian devoted family man,
  262. 16:33which by the way my oldest son is reading several of your books.
  263. 16:36Yeah, and he is host of JJ Jasper in the morning on American family radio
  264. 16:43It is my honor to have on the program with me the very first
  265. 16:48Host on American family radio in history when I hear a studio when they flipped the switch
  266. 16:541991 seems like a long time ago
  267. 16:56I was the very first voice on the very first morning to say good morning and that is
  268. 17:02is amazing to have as a part of your history.
  269. 17:07And here I am now being able to join that legacy
  270. 17:10of American Family Radio and American Family Association.
  271. 17:14And so we wanted to have you on the program
  272. 17:18to discuss a host of things,
  273. 17:19but I wanna start with you and how you first,
  274. 17:25how the Lord saved you, and then how you were drawn
  275. 17:28to become that first host on American Family Radio.
  276. 17:30Well, I want to say thank you.
  277. 17:31What an honor to be with you.
  278. 17:33Boy, I'll tell you what,
  279. 17:34Abe, you've got a lot of folks that love you,
  280. 17:35that pray for you.
  281. 17:37I love how you challenged me in.
  282. 17:38Hey, you've had a tough day at work or a rewarding day.
  283. 17:42Now you're a real job.
  284. 17:43You know, all the ways that you just rightly divide the word.
  285. 17:46And boy, I'll tell you, our family, we love you.
  286. 17:49You and I have been able to travel internationally.
  287. 17:51Yes, we were in India together.
  288. 17:52We've shared meals together.
  289. 17:54And I just say for the record, you're my hero.
  290. 17:57And our family, we love you.
  291. 17:59and so many people listening do as well.
  292. 18:01I was, my parents work Christians per se,
  293. 18:05grew up trying to be a good kid, pretty good athlete,
  294. 18:09pretty good student, made good grades,
  295. 18:12but there was always something missing,
  296. 18:14trying to just sort of sort things out
  297. 18:16between girls and coaches and teachers.
  298. 18:19And then at around 12 years old,
  299. 18:22heard the gospel, responded, walked the aisle.
  300. 18:26For lack of a better word, I don't know if it took,
  301. 18:28maybe someone will understand what that means,
  302. 18:31lack of discipline, discipleship.
  303. 18:34So fast forward, started making a lot of wrong decisions,
  304. 18:38and someone has rightly said,
  305. 18:39sin will take you farther than you wanna go,
  306. 18:42keep you longer than you wanna stay,
  307. 18:45and cost you more than you wanna pay.
  308. 18:49Thumbnail sketch of it, just the reader's digest version,
  309. 18:53I wound up just out of control.
  310. 18:56My life was a dumpster fire.
  311. 18:58moved in with my grandmother, my elderly grandmother.
  312. 19:02She taught Sunday school for over 50 years.
  313. 19:04The epitome of a good godly Christian woman.
  314. 19:07I would watch her read her Bible, watch her go to church.
  315. 19:09I wouldn't go.
  316. 19:10I was running up and down the roads drinking every day,
  317. 19:13smoking pot, just making so many wrong decisions.
  318. 19:16And because of an uncle who got radically saved,
  319. 19:19his boldness to share the gospel,
  320. 19:21and I saw his life change, not perfect,
  321. 19:24but it got better and better marriage language,
  322. 19:27jokes, they told everything, became a new creature in Christ. I saw my uncle and he shared the
  323. 19:33gospel repeatedly and because of my grandmother's prayers, I got down on my knees as a 19-year-old
  324. 19:40and realized my need for God, repented of my sins, received Jesus Christ into my heart and life by faith
  325. 19:46and I'm not over it. I've not gotten over it. Jesus is a life changer. Amen. Amen. And I know,
  326. 19:53because among other things, my wife and I got to spend
  327. 19:56a pretty significant amount of time with you and Maddie,
  328. 19:59who is my favorite.
  329. 20:00I know she's your favorite wife.
  330. 20:02We have to arm wrestle for that one.
  331. 20:04She's now a missionary here right now.
  332. 20:06Yes, good job.
  333. 20:07And I'll be kidding ya.
  334. 20:08Yeah, and India just learning a whole lot about you.
  335. 20:11I mean, you've taught Bible studies,
  336. 20:12your time in the shack, all kinds of things
  337. 20:14that have happened in your life.
  338. 20:16And you've been a resource for people you speak
  339. 20:19at events all around the country,
  340. 20:20including pro-life events all over the country.
  341. 20:22country, how did things culminate in your life where you were drawn to open up to hit the switch
  342. 20:29in 1991 on American Family Radio? You know, again, long journey, but it's like with everybody,
  343. 20:38you just start small and you just teach a Sunday school class, have a Bible study with a neighbor,
  344. 20:45he who's faithful in little things will be faithful in much. And I was just faithful in the local
  345. 20:51church started working with youth. We had a halfway house. And at one point, there were
  346. 20:56seven of us guys living there. Everybody has one friend. So now there's 14 people at our
  347. 21:01house every single night. And we just hit the streets, sharing the gospel. We'd go to laundry
  348. 21:06mats. We just went where we thought people would be lonely or hurting. And as that just
  349. 21:12continued, a little tiny corner of my heart, I thought it would be fun to be a DJ. You know,
  350. 21:18what we were called back in the day.
  351. 21:20And the Lord in Psalm 37,
  352. 21:22He said that He can even give you the desires of your heart.
  353. 21:25So someone listening, thinking about,
  354. 21:27boy, I'd like to be a coach, a teacher, a pastor,
  355. 21:29missionary, the Lord sees that.
  356. 21:31And if you'll dedicate your life to Him,
  357. 21:33if you'll continue to seek the Lord,
  358. 21:36as it says in Matthew 633, Proverbs 3, 5, and 6.
  359. 21:41Lo and behold, I was at the right place, at the right time
  360. 21:44and got a job as an on-air radio,
  361. 21:48a morning guy in Tupelo, Mississippi,
  362. 21:51was there for five years,
  363. 21:52and Brother Don would come over to that radio station.
  364. 21:54That was in Tupelo, Mississippi.
  365. 21:56And he said, I've got a vision to start a radio station,
  366. 21:59develop it into a network.
  367. 22:01And when we do this,
  368. 22:01I want you to come over and be our morning guy.
  369. 22:04And so, I knew Brother Don for many, many years,
  370. 22:08and I knew of his hard work and his integrity
  371. 22:11and his character.
  372. 22:12I've never met a person like Don Womond
  373. 22:14before or since.
  374. 22:16And he just larger than life.
  375. 22:17And it's amazing this movie that's made about his life
  376. 22:20and his legacy.
  377. 22:22And yeah, so that's the short version.
  378. 22:25Yeah.
  379. 22:26But Jesus is the hero of my story.
  380. 22:29As I know, he is yours, Abe.
  381. 22:31And boy, just like it says in Proverbs three, five, and six
  382. 22:34and some of the other places in the Bible
  383. 22:36to trust the Lord with all your heart
  384. 22:38and lean on on your own understanding
  385. 22:39and all your ways acknowledge him
  386. 22:41and he'll direct your paths.
  387. 22:43He's able to lead God in direct us if we'll open up that Bible and just get hungry for the word of God.
  388. 22:50Prayer, that's simply talking to God.
  389. 22:52If you want God to talk to you, He will reveal Himself.
  390. 22:56He will personally reveal Himself to you as you read Scripture.
  391. 23:00Amen.
  392. 23:01You know, and I didn't even realize this when I was sharing this before you came in the studio,
  393. 23:06I was sharing from Deuteronomy 4 about the godly legacy of grandparents.
  394. 23:11And you just shared about the legacy and the example
  395. 23:15that your grandmother lived in your life
  396. 23:18and how that contributed to your development,
  397. 23:21even just witnessing her faithfulness,
  398. 23:22even when you weren't even interested in that.
  399. 23:24Right, right.
  400. 23:25I'm speaking at a widow's luncheon
  401. 23:27in Capitol Arkansas next week.
  402. 23:29And I've already been thinking about those widows,
  403. 23:31God's heart for the widow and the orphan, James.
  404. 23:33Here's what true religion looks like
  405. 23:35if you'll look after the widow and the orphan.
  406. 23:37And I'm sure not just the widow, but elderly.
  407. 23:40Well, you know, I'm in my sunset years.
  408. 23:43I don't have the energy.
  409. 23:44I don't have the wherewithal.
  410. 23:45I guess I'll just sit over here on the bench
  411. 23:48and hear a grandmother's prayers
  412. 23:50or what brought me to the cross.
  413. 23:52And I realized that the life, the sinless life,
  414. 23:55the life, the death, the burial,
  415. 23:57and the resurrection of Jesus Christ that he's real.
  416. 23:59He really is real.
  417. 24:00It's not a myth or a fable or a fairy tale.
  418. 24:03He's alive and Jesus is a life changer,
  419. 24:06but a grandmother's prayers made that happen in my life.
  420. 24:09and my grandmother was the most influential person in my life.
  421. 24:12Wow.
  422. 24:14I mean, I just pray that that's a great encouragement
  423. 24:16for those who are listening who are at that stage in their lives,
  424. 24:19you know, because our culture pushes against that, you know,
  425. 24:22that, well, you need to retire.
  426. 24:23You need to be put out to passion, all the kind of things,
  427. 24:25and that's not a godly concept.
  428. 24:26It's not a biblical concept.
  429. 24:27And we need those who are at the stage
  430. 24:29where they have grandchildren,
  431. 24:30they could have grandchildren,
  432. 24:32regardless of your life station,
  433. 24:33we need, I call them, the chronologically seasoned saints.
  434. 24:36Oh, I like that.
  435. 24:37We need them just as much as we need everybody else.
  436. 24:40You know, and so you refer to the movie that American Family Studios has just completed.
  437. 24:46It's available free of charge.
  438. 24:47You can go to culture, warrior, movie.
  439. 24:49I'm sorry, culture warrior dot movie.
  440. 24:52That site again is culture warrior dot movie and watch the movie free of charge and it chronicles
  441. 24:57a life of brother Don.
  442. 24:58And you had a particular vantage point with him coming to the studio you were, the radio station
  443. 25:04you were working at before saying, when we start this, I want you to come up with a
  444. 25:07come over. What was it about you that caused him to want you to be the one to come over
  445. 25:11when he started American Family Radio?
  446. 25:12Well, I feel like I'm saying too much about me. He would come to our radio station because
  447. 25:16he had an insatiable hunger to learn. And he would come to our station to learn about
  448. 25:22radio. And he had a newsletter and he was already, well, country boy who born in Dumas,
  449. 25:30Mississippi, then a country preacher, but he was a visionary. And he had a heart for faith
  450. 25:35family and freedom. And he had a newsletter, left the pulpit with a royal manual typewriter
  451. 25:43in his den, clickety clacking to tell people, hey, movies and TV, you know, it would be better
  452. 25:52without the cursing and the, you know, being vulgar and the violence. And he was mocked,
  453. 25:58he was criticized, but he started that ministry in his den. And sure enough, he made good on
  454. 26:03And that promise, he answered that call that the Lord put on his heart.
  455. 26:06He started one radio station the summer of 1991, and then we added stations.
  456. 26:12Ava, I've never seen a harder working person.
  457. 26:15We just watched Donald Trump and we think, how can you get that much done in only a few
  458. 26:21days?
  459. 26:22And it's just like, how can one man make that kind of difference?
  460. 26:24And the shock and all that people have seen watching President Trump, that's what we saw
  461. 26:30in Don Wileman.
  462. 26:31We gave you some numbers and wrap your brain around this.
  463. 26:34We had our first station, summer of 1991.
  464. 26:37In four years, Brother Don put a hundred radio stations on the air.
  465. 26:42If you've ever built a house, if you've ever done a DIY project, the slab, the permits,
  466. 26:47the towers, and most of these were out of town, out of state.
  467. 26:54So you've got to call Indiana, Oklahoma.
  468. 26:56What is this land for sale?
  469. 26:58What about this zoning?
  470. 26:59What about these permits?
  471. 27:00So you're talking about how many a month, you know, for a hundred in just four years.
  472. 27:06And it was a radio industry record, no country, top 40, no one had ever put that many radio stations
  473. 27:13on the air and that record time.
  474. 27:16And Brother Don knew they would move the goalpost because he was conservative and Christian.
  475. 27:20And so he tried to do that feverishly and fear, you know, just.
  476. 27:25And so sure enough, they moved the goal post and changed the rules because of American
  477. 27:30family association, American family radio.
  478. 27:33But he, he was remarkable.
  479. 27:35You mean change the rules of how you can.
  480. 27:38That's right.
  481. 27:39Yes.
  482. 27:40The time limit you can do it within the vicinity within local stations, translators versus
  483. 27:45four power stations.
  484. 27:46The whole gamut was literally you heard the phrase change the game.
  485. 27:49It literally changed because of the pace that brother Don worked that in building the American
  486. 27:52family radio network.
  487. 27:54That's right.
  488. 27:55what happened and they stonewalled him for years and years,
  489. 28:01what took a matter of months for everybody else.
  490. 28:04When he applied for the license,
  491. 28:05they kicked the can down the road
  492. 28:07and gave all kinds of excuses and you say,
  493. 28:09well, it would take an act of Congress.
  494. 28:11Well, it did.
  495. 28:12He had to contact his senator and stuff,
  496. 28:15filed all the paperwork and once,
  497. 28:17oh, well, we lost it, do it again.
  498. 28:19Well, we've had a different deadline
  499. 28:22And I mean, it took years for him to get that very first
  500. 28:25radio station, but I can't say enough good about Don's
  501. 28:29integrity, his character, his work ethic.
  502. 28:31I would get to work about 530 in the morning.
  503. 28:34Brother Don was always here before me.
  504. 28:36And I had a little part time business,
  505. 28:38and sometimes I would leave some equipment here,
  506. 28:40and I'd come after dark, summertime, eight or nine o'clock.
  507. 28:43His light would be on us, oh, somebody, you know,
  508. 28:46they've left the light on.
  509. 28:47I'd go over there to turn the light off,
  510. 28:49and it was Brother Don praying,
  511. 28:51talking to somebody in Washington on the phone,
  512. 28:54talking to someone in a Hollywood, writing a letter.
  513. 28:58I mean, it's just relentless and it's just amazing.
  514. 29:03Brother Don really larger than life
  515. 29:05in terms of how hard he worked
  516. 29:07and what he's able to accomplish in just one lifetime,
  517. 29:09almost two understations, 36 states,
  518. 29:12movie makers, one million moms, a magazine
  519. 29:15and all of that for the glory of God.
  520. 29:17It sounds like I'm elevating a man,
  521. 29:19but I wanna be quick to say,
  522. 29:21that's the Lord working through, Brother Don.
  523. 29:24And from what, and I did not have the privilege
  524. 29:26of working with him directly,
  525. 29:27but everything that I've learned about him
  526. 29:29is that he would affirm what you just said,
  527. 29:32because he was not interested in bringing attention to himself.
  528. 29:35He was interested in glorifying the Lord.
  529. 29:36Or a $10 watch, humble servant leader.
  530. 29:41He emptied the trash himself.
  531. 29:44We've got a picture around here somewhere
  532. 29:46where someone took a picture.
  533. 29:47we grew to the place where we had buildings
  534. 29:49on both sides of the road.
  535. 29:51And he was walking across the street
  536. 29:53with a plunger on his shoulder.
  537. 29:55And he had crossed the street to unclog a toilet.
  538. 29:59And this is a guy who at one point had a law firm.
  539. 30:03And as I mentioned, nearly 200 radio stations
  540. 30:06in the internet presence.
  541. 30:08And yet here I'll unclog the toilet.
  542. 30:11I'll empty the trash.
  543. 30:13And I was privileged to be one of the speakers
  544. 30:15at his funeral.
  545. 30:16Instead of trying to go by memory, I actually wrote down some words to describe Brother
  546. 30:21Don Wildman, dedicated, fearless, tireless, courageous, hardworking, relentless.
  547. 30:28He was humble wise.
  548. 30:30He was a warrior.
  549. 30:31He was focused.
  550. 30:32He was determined, a visionary, a modern day prophet, intimidating, and a servant leader.
  551. 30:39And so I'm so thankful.
  552. 30:40It took over two years to compile some of these, all of these victories and people behind the
  553. 30:47scenes speaking out about his influence and his impact for the kingdom.
  554. 30:53But yeah, I encourage everybody, please watch this movie, Culture Warrior, Don Weilman in the
  555. 30:59battle for decency.
  556. 31:01Now, probably 12 and over because he would take on Playboy and all these different, you know,
  557. 31:07the drag queens, they were just getting started.
  558. 31:10And he was, you know, in the middle of that,
  559. 31:11hey, let's show up and say this is not wholesome.
  560. 31:15This is not good for society.
  561. 31:17And again, mocked and criticized all along the way,
  562. 31:20but boy, when others see a shepherd boy,
  563. 31:24God sees a king.
  564. 31:27And that's profound.
  565. 31:28I want it, we only have about a minute or so
  566. 31:31before this segment is over,
  567. 31:32but I want to get you to explain
  568. 31:35because when Brother Don started,
  569. 31:36he began with the National Federation for Decency,
  570. 31:39but his work in that endeavor,
  571. 31:41which led to the Name, Change,
  572. 31:42the American Family Association,
  573. 31:43we didn't have a radio network then.
  574. 31:45So what were the types of things that you recall
  575. 31:49that Brother Don encountered that led to,
  576. 31:52okay, no, no, we need to make a pivot.
  577. 31:54We need to have a radio network.
  578. 31:56What were the types of things that led into that decision
  579. 31:59before leading to this rapid growth
  580. 32:01and all these other things?
  581. 32:02And you can hear the disrespectful music,
  582. 32:04So we'll have to get to that on the other side of the break.
  583. 32:06But you are listening to the Hamilton Corner.
  584. 32:08My in-studio guest is JJ Jasper, host of JJ Jasper
  585. 32:13in the morning, the first on-air personality
  586. 32:16on American Family Radio who got to work hand-in-hand
  587. 32:18with brother Don Wildman.
  588. 32:20The new film, Documenting His Life,
  589. 32:22the development of the American Family Association Ministry
  590. 32:25and American Family Radio is available.
  591. 32:28Simply go to culturalwarrior.movie.
  592. 32:30You can watch it free of charge online.
  593. 32:32I certainly wouldn't encourage parents maybe
  594. 32:34You watch it first, before you watch it with children, so you can get an idea of what's in
  595. 32:37it, because it includes, as JJ mentioned, some of the battles that Brother Don led against
  596. 32:42some of the panographers in our society and getting 7-11 to stop publishing that point.
  597. 32:49You've ever wondered how to print things, ended up having to be putting bags behind the shelves?
  598. 32:53Don Wildman has something for you on that point.
  599. 32:55CultureOria.movie is the website.
  600. 33:03What is DEI and why is it antithetical to truth?
  601. 33:06DEI teaches people to view themselves and others primarily through the lens of race, gender,
  602. 33:11or social status.
  603. 33:13As Christians, our call is not diversity for diversity's sake, but to proclaim Christ,
  604. 33:18calling people into unity through the power of the gospel.
  605. 33:22I'm Jenna Ellis, and you can read my article, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, a truthful

  614. 34:11Back to the Hamilton Corner on American Family Radio.
  615. 34:15Welcome back to the Hamilton Corner, Abraham Hamilton III here in studio with J.J. Jasper.
  616. 34:21And before we went to the breakout, I asked JJ to share a bit because as I mentioned, he
  617. 34:26was the very first American family radio host on the network.
  618. 34:31So he was around for the transition to where Brother Don, who started the ministry as the
  619. 34:35National Federation for Decency, then the name was changed to American Family Association,
  620. 34:39but they came to a particular juncture to where he, Brother Don, that is, determined,
  621. 34:45no, we need to have a radio network.
  622. 34:46So I wanted to have you share a little bit about that and that whole arc in the history
  623. 34:50of the ministry.
  624. 34:511977, the National Federation for Decency.
  625. 34:54And then as you mentioned, he was early on, he was battling pornography a lot, along with
  626. 35:00sharing the gospel and just speaking anywhere he could, any small church, any civic, you know,
  627. 35:07Civitan, the Rotary Club.
  628. 35:09And he was almost like a lone wolf just saying, hey, look, pornography is a scourge.
  629. 35:14This is something that's just going to permeate the country and it's going to do so much damage.
  630. 35:18It's not a victimless crime.
  631. 35:20Well, whenever he would have interviews, almost always,
  632. 35:24and I was naive, I didn't realize how corrupt media was
  633. 35:28and that they had a narrative and an agenda.
  634. 35:30And they would quote him wrong,
  635. 35:32they would put things in the article,
  636. 35:34or edit the tape to have him say something he didn't say
  637. 35:37because he took it way out of context.
  638. 35:40And he said, if I had my own radio station,
  639. 35:42I could tell the truth, be a truth teller,
  640. 35:46and it would be unvarnished news and information.
  641. 35:50And so his idea actually was to have a talk station
  642. 35:53and not music so much, but our very first station,
  643. 35:57mostly music, a little bit of talk,
  644. 35:59but he was so excited about the news
  645. 36:00because he could tell the truth from a Christian perspective
  646. 36:03and it would be different than what you were getting
  647. 36:05from the legacy news.
  648. 36:07So that was one of the things driving him
  649. 36:10is to not be censored.
  650. 36:11And he was amazed just shocked at how dishonest
  651. 36:15and how wicked these people that would try to interview him
  652. 36:20But yeah, so the first radio station I made mention,
  653. 36:23summer of 1991, we grew rapidly,
  654. 36:26almost two understations and 36 states.
  655. 36:28If I could share some personal stories.
  656. 36:30Yeah, please.
  657. 36:31So Brother Don was very, very frugal.
  658. 36:34We would say that he was tight,
  659. 36:36but I'm trying to be diplomatic here
  660. 36:37because he wasn't my boss for 20 years.
  661. 36:41But he says, it's not our money.
  662. 36:42This is hard working people in factories, farmers,
  663. 36:47people in fixed income, give me $5, $10 a month.
  664. 36:49and he knew that and he was such a good steward.
  665. 36:52And the minister was built on that and still is to this day.
  666. 36:55But just one example of that,
  667. 36:57we'd added on to our building, we had metal buildings,
  668. 37:00a very, very economy carpet.
  669. 37:03Anytime it rained, there'd be a leak here and there.
  670. 37:05So we added on and it was our new building,
  671. 37:07we're so excited.
  672. 37:09And there were several pallets or half dozen pallets of sod.
  673. 37:13And so Brother Don got on the intercom and he said,
  674. 37:16that's grass for y'all to go to the side.
  675. 37:17That's right, that's right.
  676. 37:19Green side up, plop.
  677. 37:21Yeah, so you have to have somebody,
  678. 37:23green side up, whoever the foreman is.
  679. 37:25So Brother Don got on the overhead intercom and said,
  680. 37:30Hey, we just talked to the people that are going to install
  681. 37:33the side and they're just wanting way too much money.
  682. 37:37So everybody's not wearing a dress,
  683. 37:40I need you out front.
  684. 37:42And we're gonna lay this side ourselves.
  685. 37:44It was in August.
  686. 37:45And all the employees out there, you know,
  687. 37:48in khaki pants, white shirt, mini with a tie on,
  688. 37:52we were out there on our hands and knees, laying that sod.
  689. 37:55And that was brother Don,
  690. 37:57we're not gonna pay an exorbitant price.
  691. 37:59I'm gonna save-
  692. 38:00And I love-
  693. 38:01Ministry money.
  694. 38:02And I love this story because brother Don
  695. 38:04didn't just summon staff till they decided.
  696. 38:07He was out there doing it himself.
  697. 38:08He was out there laying the sod.
  698. 38:09You're exactly right.
  699. 38:10I've traveled with him.
  700. 38:12I've shared a meal at his table.
  701. 38:15And he really, he really was a servant leader.
  702. 38:17I was not in the military, but I think I know what it was like to be around a general because
  703. 38:22he, though he was a very humble man, he was like a military general and Abe, there's never
  704. 38:28a doubt in anyone's mind that he was in charge.
  705. 38:31He commanded the utmost respect from others and struck fear in the hearts of the bad actors
  706. 38:37in Hollywood and Washington, D.C.
  707. 38:40He really was a champion, a true hero of the faith.
  708. 38:44And Don Weilman never in his lifetime ever backed down from a fight.
  709. 38:48Speaking of his character, one of the things I learned and I did not know this until I came
  710. 38:52to AFA, but the whole tea party movement, a lot of people don't know, but he started that.
  711. 38:56Had a lot to do with it.
  712. 38:57And I had a lot to, yes, sir.
  713. 38:59And was intentional about not associating his name with any of it, but just getting the
  714. 39:04work done, getting the work done.
  715. 39:06And that's indicative of his character.
  716. 39:08And I know you have more experiences with them.
  717. 39:10You have any other particular accounts you'd want to share.
  718. 39:13stories, like you said, behind the scenes. And I think this was just a one-sentence thing
  719. 39:18in the movie because there was so much to put in the movie. But Brother Don, as I mentioned, was a
  720. 39:23visionary. And he saw that all the major ministries, all the major denominations, seemed to be all
  721. 39:30going in different directions. And he saw that the liberals, the people on the left,
  722. 39:34they were united with the LGBT community, the gay community back then.
  723. 39:40And so he made some strategic calls.
  724. 39:44He really was like a general and just being strategic.
  725. 39:48And he said, guys, we have to all be on the same page.
  726. 39:51Will you meet me in Washington, DC?
  727. 39:53Actually Arlington, they met.
  728. 39:55And here were some of the names.
  729. 39:56Some of our older listeners will remember,
  730. 39:58Dr. D. James Kennedy, Adrian Rogers, Dr. James Dobson,
  731. 40:03the who's who of leaders and the Christian community,
  732. 40:05they met Brother Don, cast his vision.
  733. 40:08We really need the whatever college you're working on,
  734. 40:11whatever building you're building,
  735. 40:13we need to be on the same page for faith, family, and freedom,
  736. 40:16advancing the kingdom, telling people about Jesus Christ.
  737. 40:20And so they agreed and they said,
  738. 40:23well, the first thing we need is a leader.
  739. 40:25And Brother Don, we want you to bear our leader.
  740. 40:28He said, oh, hey, I'm just a country boy from Mississippi.
  741. 40:31The Lord just put this on my heart,
  742. 40:32but you guys are more qualified.
  743. 40:34And they said, no, we'll only do this.
  744. 40:37He'll be our leader and you never ever heard about that ever.
  745. 40:41And it was called the Arlington group and they would fly out and meet and
  746. 40:44strategize and implement plans. One more quick story. I'm walking down the hall.
  747. 40:49This was the first George Bush walking down the hall. Now,
  748. 40:53Brother Don's office, no entourage, nobody guards door open,
  749. 40:57cluttered office. You could just come in as I mentioned $10 watch.
  750. 41:02No cabin and the mountains are on the beach or condo.
  751. 41:05Humble, modest.
  752. 41:08So I'm walking down the hall and over there in the comm,
  753. 41:11it said, Brother Don, President Bush on line one,
  754. 41:14President Bush on line one.
  755. 41:16Abe literally stopped in my tracks walking down the hall.
  756. 41:20And I thought and later learned that President Bush
  757. 41:24called Brother Don for advice,
  758. 41:27send me advice on a family policy.
  759. 41:30I thought however clever I think I am
  760. 41:32or whatever I think I may accomplish in my lifetime,
  761. 41:35with 100% certainty.
  762. 41:37I know the president of the United States of America
  763. 41:40is not gonna call me and say,
  764. 41:42what do you think about this?
  765. 41:44And brother Don, he didn't mention it into motion
  766. 41:46the next day, he didn't mention it to any of his neighbors.
  767. 41:49Hey, guess who called me yesterday?
  768. 41:50Asking me for advice.
  769. 41:52But I could just go on and on with those stories
  770. 41:55behind the scenes, but here's why you need to watch the movie
  771. 41:58because they tell a lot of those things
  772. 42:00and bring a lot of family friends
  773. 42:02and people that went to his church.
  774. 42:05His pastor's wife told me as fierce as he could be,
  775. 42:08and sometimes stern, he worked on the nursery.
  776. 42:13Like if somebody didn't show up,
  777. 42:14and there was the paneling
  778. 42:15between her Sunday school room and the nursery,
  779. 42:17and she heard him in there with a little two and three-year-olds
  780. 42:20rocking them and singing a little Christian song
  781. 42:24to them, and Jesus loves me.
  782. 42:26But she said, she would think if the people in the Hollywood
  783. 42:31and Washington, D.C., this person that battles them,
  784. 42:34and is not intimidated by any of those corporate monsters.
  785. 42:39If they knew how tender he could be,
  786. 42:43having these little children in his lap
  787. 42:44and singing these songs.
  788. 42:46But yeah, the movie is a culture warrior,
  789. 42:49Don Wyleman in the battle for decency
  790. 42:52and it's streaming for free.
  791. 42:54Be great for your small group, for your church,
  792. 42:56for your family, maybe 12 and older,
  793. 42:59but culturewarrior.movie, culturewarrior.movie,
  794. 43:03the life, the legacy of Don Weillman,
  795. 43:06he would famously say,
  796. 43:07one person can make a difference.
  797. 43:09Well, oftentimes, well, I can't talk,
  798. 43:11I can't go to the school board,
  799. 43:13I can't run for an Alderman or mayor,
  800. 43:15I can't do anything in my neighborhood, watch person.
  801. 43:18And he said, oh, you can.
  802. 43:20You know, one person can make a difference.
  803. 43:21And he would say that routinely
  804. 43:23and look what happened with just one lifetime.
  805. 43:26I mean, this is not a dress rehearsal.
  806. 43:29This is the real deal.
  807. 43:30We only have one lifetime to live for Jesus.
  808. 43:32And he was surrendered and yielded.
  809. 43:35And look what God did,
  810. 43:37how he was able to glorify himself
  811. 43:38through the life of Brother Don.
  812. 43:40That's amazing.
  813. 43:41You know, you don't have to talk to you very long,
  814. 43:44JJ, to see your heart for the Lord.
  815. 43:46It comes out.
  816. 43:46It oozes out of you, even you saying here,
  817. 43:49that you've never gotten over the Lord saving you
  818. 43:52as you had to experience when you were 12,
  819. 43:53but really having a really come to Jesus at 19.
  820. 43:58They all did, yeah.
  821. 43:59And never having gotten over that.
  822. 44:01What would you say to the people who were listening to now?
  823. 44:03We're talking about the example that the Lord left for us
  824. 44:06through Brother Don, his witness's legacy.
  825. 44:09But the Lord really calls every one of his children
  826. 44:12to serve him.
  827. 44:12Not all of us are gonna be Brother Don.
  828. 44:14You know, our names may not be etched anywhere here
  829. 44:16on this side of eternity, but guaranteed what is available
  830. 44:19to every single person is for our names to be written
  831. 44:21in the last book of life.
  832. 44:22And no matter what your, you're like the testimony you had,
  833. 44:25even though you may not get George Bush online one,
  834. 44:28you can fulfill your purposes.
  835. 44:29How would you encourage our audience to submit themselves to the Lord's leading in that way?
  836. 44:32You know, in the last couple of years, I've tried to be faithful to read the Bible every
  837. 44:36day in our church, our pastor, just over and over.
  838. 44:39He says, I can't overstate how important it is to feed daily from the Word of God.
  839. 44:43Jesus said, in Matthew 4, 4, as well as Luke 4, 4, man should not live by bread alone, but
  840. 44:48by every word that proceeded from the mouth of God.
  841. 44:51As I mentioned earlier, prayer, that's just simply us talking to God.
  842. 44:57But if you want God to talk to you, if you want Him to visit you, if you want the Chicana glory
  843. 45:02of God, if you want Him to fill that space in your kitchen, in your car, if you'll open
  844. 45:07up your Bible and start reading, it's amazing.
  845. 45:10It really is life changing.
  846. 45:12I need more faith.
  847. 45:13We all do.
  848. 45:14Faith come up by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
  849. 45:16It says in Romans 10, 17.
  850. 45:18And as you start to read your Bible, maybe start in John.
  851. 45:21If you're not used to that, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, read the Psalms.
  852. 45:26It's a love letter and God loves you.
  853. 45:28He's not mad at you.
  854. 45:29He's not out to get you.
  855. 45:31He longs for a close personal relationship with you, not religion, but a relationship.
  856. 45:37Spirit led faith-filled relationship where he just wants to woo you and draw you and say,
  857. 45:42come on in a little closer, come on up a little higher.
  858. 45:45And if a person will start reading their Bible faithfully and just learn the fallen love
  859. 45:52with the author of that book. It's a love letter. And then you'll be able to
  860. 45:57bloom where you're planted. Just to your point, you know, you may work in the nursery, teach a class,
  861. 46:04work with youth. It doesn't have to be on the grand stage. Someone said, just last night at church,
  862. 46:09they said, I've noticed reading through the Bible that God calls us all to do little things
  863. 46:15and leave the big things to him. And I thought, isn't that the, you know, he said,
  864. 46:18you just go catch a fish. I'll be the one to put those coins in the fishes mouth to pay your taxes.
  865. 46:24You just go over there and get that little sack lunch from that boy. I'll take care of feeding
  866. 46:29the 5,000 plus. So he's mighty, he's majestic, he's miraculous, and if we'll just surrender,
  867. 46:36if we'll just be yielded to him, then he'll glorify himself through our life.
  868. 46:40Man, that's so good because so often, especially in our day and age, we can get accustomed really
  869. 46:45to people almost reading the Bible for us, you know, to where we even go to when we gather
  870. 46:50for worship is on the screen and in many places because of technology, you don't even bring
  871. 46:54Bibles. But I can't underscore more strongly what you just said for every single person to
  872. 47:01get in the Lord's Word daily. You know, I've heard Pastor Parker say for years, three chapters a day,
  873. 47:06you know, as it he says all the time, I encourage big chunk readings. But for each of us to get in God's
  874. 47:11word daily, often says there is a result of reading God's word, God reads me through his
  875. 47:15word.
  876. 47:16Oh, that's good.
  877. 47:17And it's a mirror.
  878. 47:18Yeah, yeah.
  879. 47:19Not about it.
  880. 47:20Now, Sharper, he's letting you do two-edged sword.
  881. 47:22And so, yeah, I just would encourage you listening.
  882. 47:26And you know, some people don't like to read, but if you'll just start that practice, start
  883. 47:31that habit, get your Bible out, start to read.
  884. 47:34And we're reading the, you know, it's a one-year Bible.
  885. 47:38And so it's all right there laid out for you, the daily walk Bible.
  886. 47:41But thank you for listening to American family radio.
  887. 47:44Thank you for listening to my hero, Abe, who just rightly divides the word and offers so much
  888. 47:49encouragement and inspiration.
  889. 47:51And boy, I wish everybody could see your family like we have.
  890. 47:54You got a beautiful family.
  891. 47:55God has blessed you, Abe.
  892. 47:57And again, I'm so thankful guys, we were Abe and my daughter, Matty, Abe and his wife, we
  893. 48:03traveling to India, long flights, long days, dusty, way back in the jungle, and almost every meal
  894. 48:11and every opportunity able to see that and use that as a teaching moment. And he'd say,
  895. 48:16let me tell you something that I was reading in Joshua. Let me tell you something Lord laid on my
  896. 48:20heart yesterday. And I just thought, he really is the same 24-7. And it was a privilege and a joy
  897. 48:27to travel with you. It's honored to be on your show and it's just a real honor to call you a friend.
  898. 48:32pastor and radio host and former assistant DA in New Orleans.
  899. 48:37Man, you've lived an exciting life.
  900. 48:40Well, man, to God be the glory.
  901. 48:42That's all I can say. To God be the glory.
  902. 48:44I was going to ask you, initially, maybe about 20 seconds.
  903. 48:47You had the honor of speaking at Brother Don's funeral.
  904. 48:51I did. I want to end our time together like this.
  905. 48:53How much has Brother Don impacted and inspired me?
  906. 48:56We were having a little boy born.
  907. 48:58We wanted to name his middle name after someone who
  908. 49:01who a spiritual giant who's influenced our life the most.
  909. 49:05Donald Ellis Weilman, we named our son,
  910. 49:09Bodie Ellis Jasper.
  911. 49:12And I think that tells you everything you need to know
  912. 49:14about how much influence and impact he's had in my life
  913. 49:17personally that I would name my son after him.
  914. 49:20Go and check out the movie, folks.
