  1. 0:00Darkness is not an affirmative force.
  2. 0:03It simply reoccupies the space vacated by the light.
  3. 0:07This is the Hamilton Quarter on American Family Radio.
  4. 0:11It should be uncomfortable for a believer to live as a hypocrite.
  5. 0:15Delivery people out of the bondage of mainstream media.
  6. 0:18And the philosophies of this world.
  7. 0:20God has called you and me to be his ambassador.
  8. 0:24Even in this dark moment.
  9. 0:26Let's not miss our moment.
  10. 0:28And now, the Hamilton Corner.
  11. 0:34Do you believe that Christians should be engaged in the political realm?
  12. 0:38What about pastors and clergy?
  13. 0:40Should they speak about moral, social, and political issues from the pulpit?
  14. 0:45We'll talk about this. We would love to hear your opinions on these things.
  15. 0:48But I'm excited about the show tonight because we're going to get really an expert opinion.
  16. 0:54We'll talk with Bunny Pound, the president and founder of Christians engaged in just a moment.
  17. 0:59moment but I do want to welcome everybody. Alex McFarland here so honored that
  18. 1:04attorney, pastor and broadcaster Abe Hamilton the third frequently allows me to
  19. 1:10sit in at his microphone if you recognize my voice it might be from a show that is
  20. 1:15four to five live every day four to five Eastern three to four central exploring
  21. 1:20the word now in its 16th year on the American Family Radio Network and we
  22. 1:25God the glory for that. Before we bring our guest on and we get into the topic, I've got to give a big
  23. 1:30shout out to Shiloh Christian Camp in Hewitt, New Jersey. That's where I am. Now when you think of
  24. 1:37New Jersey, you probably think of like Newark or some big metropolitan area, right adjacent to Manhattan,
  25. 1:44New York and believe me, it is. But the Garden State, it is appropriately named because there's a lot
  26. 1:51of rural, mountainous, beautiful area. And that's where I am. We're in our seventh and final youth camp
  27. 1:59of the summer. Up here with, oh, I don't know, 125, 135 kids. We will have had 1200 middle school and
  28. 2:07high schoolers in our camps this summer. And we've had over 150 kids pray to accept Christ. And you
  29. 2:14know, the thing about our camp, and please keep us in prayer this week, we teach kids about the
  30. 2:19Lord, obviously, about Jesus Christ and a biblical worldview, apologetics, how to defend the Christian
  31. 2:25faith. But we have kids say the Pledge of Allegiance, many teenagers with whom I speak, I and our staff.
  32. 2:32A lot of kids don't really know the Pledge of Allegiance. A lot of kids have never heard the
  33. 2:37Pledge of Allegiance. So we're all about God and country and I value everyone's prayers as I'm
  34. 2:42broadcasting the portable gear which is working I hope from the mountains of
  35. 2:49New Jersey. Well let's talk about something that I feel like is vitally
  36. 2:53important and that's Christians everywhere. Churches, the millions of
  37. 2:58American believers voting and the election is just 70 some days away and
  38. 3:03to weigh in on this and get some truly expert insight. Bunny Pounds as I said
  39. 3:09She's the founder of Christians Engaged.
  40. 3:11Give you a couple of websites here.
  41. 3:13One is BunnyPounds, B-U-N-N-I-P-O-U-N-D-S.com.
  42. 3:19BunnyPounds.com.
  43. 3:21And then also Christians Engaged,
  44. 3:24spelled just like it sounds,
  45. 3:26Christiansengaged.org.
  46. 3:28And she says that Christians are to be salt
  47. 3:30and light in the culture.
  48. 3:32We're not to be apathetic, but we're to be informed.
  49. 3:34We're to be engaged.
  50. 3:36And through our lives, God will use us to make a difference.
  51. 3:41Ms. Bunny Pound's Patriot and Force of Nature,
  52. 3:46thank you for being with us tonight
  53. 3:48on the American Family Radio Network.
  54. 3:50Well, it's an honor to be with you, Alex.
  55. 3:53And I've been a fan for a long time,
  56. 3:55so I'm glad we're finally together on some show.
  57. 3:58It's a blessing.
  58. 3:59Well, indeed, indeed.
  59. 4:01And tell us a little bit about your background.
  60. 4:04I know you've run for office, you're a graduate of Christ for the Nations and Dallas Baptist
  61. 4:10University and how did you come to be such an engaged Christian patriot?
  62. 4:17Well, I went to Bible school.
  63. 4:20I knew I had a call of God on my life to teach the Bible.
  64. 4:23I've always had an unquenchable thirst for scripture and the place of prayer.
  65. 4:29I thought I was going to be a missionary to Latin America and then my husband proposed over
  66. 4:34pancakes one day.
  67. 4:35He was my best friend and all of a sudden I am in America running a pest control company
  68. 4:41and having little babies and I'm like, what is happening with my life?
  69. 4:45And you know what the Lord showed me is, you know, I can complain about the apathy I felt
  70. 4:52in America.
  71. 4:53you know the other nations have a a more you know hunger for the word of God hunger
  72. 4:59for the gospel that we do sometimes here or I can take ownership of being in this
  73. 5:04country in this generation to be a missionary to America and frankly Alex we
  74. 5:10need more missionaries to America and that's hopefully up to many issues in our
  75. 5:15nation including the safety of human life issue really working within the pro
  76. 5:21life movement uh... beginning to work on campaigns and trying to get godly people
  77. 5:26elected
  78. 5:28going back to school getting my political science degree at dallas baptist and
  79. 5:32then working for members of congress and sixteen years of political consulting
  80. 5:38uh...
  81. 5:39wonderful
  82. 5:40let me ask you this where we are
  83. 5:43maybe eight or ten years ago is could you have envisioned this
  84. 5:47because some
  85. 5:48You know, let me put it this way.
  86. 5:49After the Obama years and the passage of the affordable,
  87. 5:53the I would argue misnamed Affordable Care Act,
  88. 5:58and there were so many things that were like leap frogs
  89. 6:02towards socialism, free funds, Obama funds, Obama care,
  90. 6:07and then Trump gets in and the economy becomes the greatest
  91. 6:12economy of anyone's lifetime.
  92. 6:15you know, employment rates are up, home starts are up, big ticket items are selling, consumer
  93. 6:22confidence and it looks great and in just four years it all came crashing down.
  94. 6:29And here we are and the disastrous presidency of Joe Biden.
  95. 6:35And let me just say to everybody, as Bonnie and I speak very frankly about the state of
  96. 6:40the country, I can say and I'm sure she would concur.
  97. 6:44Look, I pray for Joe Biden.
  98. 6:45I pray for Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.
  99. 6:47I pray for Kamala Harris.
  100. 6:49Lord knows I wish them no ill.
  101. 6:52I pray for their spiritual well-being.
  102. 6:56But we're talking about the America that we are stewards of.
  103. 7:01And we're not, in my opinion, we're not in a good place.
  104. 7:06Bunny, would you have ever thought
  105. 7:09that we would be at this juncture where
  106. 7:12a constitutional free republic
  107. 7:15is is legitimately at risk
  108. 7:18i i can imagine alex where we are i remember
  109. 7:24you know fifteen years ago lamenting about different policies or that were
  110. 7:29happening or the national debt continuing to be
  111. 7:33run up and christian's not paying attention to
  112. 7:36you know
  113. 7:37congressional spending or this or that or we can't get rid of earmarks my former
  114. 7:42boss jib has really fought against earmarks and congressional spending for years
  115. 7:47but i knew when the supreme court case came down uh... you know legalizing gay
  116. 7:52marriage i remember that day sitting at my desk
  117. 7:55just
  118. 7:56weeping and i could not
  119. 7:58uh... control it and i didn't know what was happening but i knew it's like this
  120. 8:02thing of intercession
  121. 8:04you know and people have always laughed at some of us and said you know that
  122. 8:09slippery slope thing that's not going to happen
  123. 8:12well it's happened before our eyes in very quick time period like
  124. 8:20what did gender ideology and all this stuff happen like when did we not know
  125. 8:25if our mail mail mail or cats i mean it's gotten insane right and i couldn't
  126. 8:31imagine
  127. 8:32sitting there crying at my desk
  128. 8:34over a decade ago that we would be where we are right now
  129. 8:38So I think the Christian that's not fully awake needs to go, what's going on in my soul?
  130. 8:46Why cannot I not discern the days and the times that we're living in?
  131. 8:51Bunny, I was in Mississippi this past week to speak.
  132. 8:54I mean, we're talking about Bible Belt USA, Heartland America, and a public school teacher
  133. 9:00was talking to me about the fact that in a Mississippi public school, a middle schooler
  134. 9:07identifies as a furry and demanded to be provided a litter box to use the bathroom in.
  135. 9:15And by the way, let me just say this, the book of Romans talks about when a culture rejects
  136. 9:21the true and living God, then it really dehumanizes people that rather than human beings being
  137. 9:28made in the image of God, they're reduced to animals.
  138. 9:34I mean, the idea that a human in an American public school would relieve themselves in a
  139. 9:41litter box that the school provides rather than risk a lawsuit by the ACLU. It just shows
  140. 9:49how we've lost our mind. I mean, America based on morality, natural law, insisting that
  141. 9:56natural law insisting that a child live and behave as a child, telling a person of any
  142. 10:03age, look, you're not a Furby, you're not a Furrie, you're not a feline, you're not transgender,
  143. 10:10you're a human being. That's not assault. To tell people truth and reality is not assault.
  144. 10:18But, Bunny, we're a nation that's lost the fortitude
  145. 10:23to call people back to truth and the rule of law.
  146. 10:28To a large degree, that's true, isn't it?
  147. 10:31Unfortunately, you're right.
  148. 10:33But there's a remnant arising, Alex.
  149. 10:36And I want to give people hope today
  150. 10:39because what I'm seeing is a whole generation.
  151. 10:43I know you're seeing this as well as you were talking
  152. 10:45about the camps you're in with these young people.
  153. 10:48a whole generation that's arising that is grabbing hold of the gospel that is
  154. 10:54wanting to go on an adventure with jesus they are tired
  155. 10:58of program christianity they're tired of complacency
  156. 11:03they're tired of not being discipled in the way they need to be discipled
  157. 11:07there they want to go and do something with their life
  158. 11:11i think as again as the darkness gets darker the light gets lighter
  159. 11:17and brighter and uh... don't give up church uh... god is doing something in
  160. 11:23the hour and four and a half years ago i was leading
  161. 11:26a very successful political consulting for my thirty two clients and nine
  162. 11:31people in my office
  163. 11:33i ran for congress at that point kind of blew up my life a little bit
  164. 11:37into a
  165. 11:38uh... run off you know uh... eight person primary into an eight person uh...
  166. 11:43a two-person runoff and a million dollars spent on both sides of my race over a million dollars.
  167. 11:49But at the end of that, the Lord specifically told me, as I'm going, God, what am I going
  168. 11:55to be when I grow up now?
  169. 11:57He said, I'm waking up my church in the days ahead, but they need accountability and they
  170. 12:03need systems to mobilize the awakening.
  171. 12:08And so with Christians engaged, our ministry, I started four and a half years ago, we are
  172. 12:13building systems to, as Christians, wake up and they don't know what to do, plug them into
  173. 12:19habits of prayer, voting and engagement where they can activate their family and friends
  174. 12:24for the long term.
  175. 12:26And I think over the next decade, we're going to see a shift in this country.
  176. 12:32Yes.
  177. 12:34and before we go too much further i want to mention your book jesus and politics
  178. 12:38i mean
  179. 12:39uh... working first of all i tell us the premise of the book and where people
  180. 12:43can find it
  181. 12:45well it's actually uh...
  182. 12:47intimacy with jesus book disguises the political book
  183. 12:50uh... it's really about my walk with god and walk in the presence of god in
  184. 12:56culture with members of congress uh... everybody's in there from vice president
  185. 13:01mike pen
  186. 13:02to send her to a cruise leaves out in shot that the jet and the link michael
  187. 13:07cloud
  188. 13:08so many members that i've had the opportunity to work for a be friends with
  189. 13:12uh... people in government that signed off on their stories being used in this
  190. 13:16book
  191. 13:17but i really didn't think i had a lot to tell uh...
  192. 13:20till i was like you know how can god use one person's life
  193. 13:24that's really the end people think their vote doesn't matter or their life being
  194. 13:28poured out in a career doesn't matter
  195. 13:31well for me i've had the opportunity for sixteen years
  196. 13:34to the cycle elected officials and a pray for
  197. 13:38a little unknown member of congress from indiana and speak words of god over his
  198. 13:43life and you know ten years later he's a vice president the united states
  199. 13:48you never know what's going to happen and what god's gonna do with your life
  200. 13:51i had a dream
  201. 13:53about somebody that was not part of my party uh... congressman beta or work
  202. 13:58And four months later, I share in the book,
  203. 14:00I'm standing in front of Beto,
  204. 14:01speaking the word of God over his life,
  205. 14:04that the Lord gave me.
  206. 14:06God wants to do things with ordinary people.
  207. 14:10And I hope my story and these crazy adventures
  208. 14:15of walking with God in politics
  209. 14:16inspires a next generation to rise up
  210. 14:19and be staffers, consultants, campaign managers
  211. 14:22to walk with these people of influence
  212. 14:24that need discipleship and need the word of God every day.
  213. 14:28You know, I'm so glad to hear you say these things because folks listen, no matter who you are,
  214. 14:33you might meet some elected officials someday, and like Bunny has done, speak God's word to them,
  215. 14:39or maybe not, but no matter who you are, no matter where you are, you can pray. And those prayers avail
  216. 14:45much, Galatians 6'9". Stay tuned, folks. Alex McFarland here, this is the Hamilton Corner,
  217. 14:51and we're going to take calls after this. We're talking with Bunny Pounds about the political
  218. 14:55teacher of America don't go away.
  219. 14:59According to a recent study of hundreds of poster board of women, 60% reported that they
  220. 15:03would have preferred to give birth if they had received more support from others or had
  221. 15:08more financial security.
  222. 15:10And that's where preborn steps in.
  223. 15:13Preborn is there for women in their darkest hour, deciding between the life and death of
  224. 15:17their precious child.
  225. 15:19You see, the reality is, women are being pressured to make this fatal decision and are being told
  226. 15:24that their babies are just a clump of cells.
  227. 15:26Preborn welcomes women with God's love
  228. 15:29and introduces them to the beautiful life
  229. 15:31growing inside of them,
  230. 15:32which doubles their babies' chance at life.
  231. 15:35When you support preborn, you not only support women,
  232. 15:38you empower them.
  233. 15:40Your donation of $28 will help a woman to make a choice
  234. 15:43that she won't have to regret for the rest of her life,
  235. 15:46and gives her the ultimate blessing, life.
  236. 15:50Your love can save a life.
  237. 15:52Just dial pound 250 and say the key word baby.
  238. 15:55That's pound 250 baby.
  239. 15:57Or visit preborn.com.
  240. 15:59That's preborn.com.
  241. 16:08Shiting lightning to the darkness.
  242. 16:10This is the Hamilton Corner, an American family radio.
  243. 16:14We'll go back to the program, Alex McFarland.
  244. 16:17By the way, on my own website,
  245. 16:19alexmafarland.com.
  246. 16:21For first time voters, because we deal with so many
  247. 16:25High school college students, young adults.
  248. 16:27I wrote a lot of content for first time voters.
  249. 16:31If you've never voted before, this is your first time,
  250. 16:34or maybe you haven't voted in a long time.
  251. 16:37May I refer you to my website,
  252. 16:39AlexMcFarland.com slash vote.
  253. 16:42Food for thought, it's some nonpartisan data,
  254. 16:45but I really think it's very important.
  255. 16:47If you care about the future of America,
  256. 16:50and especially if you're a born-again believer,
  257. 16:52You're a Christian and you're a citizen.
  258. 16:56I truly believe your vote is a stewardship issue.
  259. 17:00Well, here to weigh in on this with us is Bunny Pounds.
  260. 17:03She's a highly respected author, political strategist.
  261. 17:06BunnyPounds.com, Christiansengaged.org.
  262. 17:11Very honored to have her with us this evening.
  263. 17:14And later on, we will take calls.
  264. 17:15If you've got a question for Bunny Pounds or myself,
  265. 17:18the number is triple eight, five, eight, nine, eighty, eight,
  266. 17:225040, triple eight, five, eight, nine, 88, 40, if you've got a question about the upcoming
  267. 17:28election or the DNC in Chicago this week, you want to comment on that. But, Bunny Pounds,
  268. 17:36thank you for your time. But even more importantly, thank you for what you're doing to get Christians
  269. 17:41engaged. Thank you, Alex. Well, we're trying to mobilize a million Christians. We're at 350,000
  270. 17:49Christians in our voter mobilization communication system across the country that have said yes
  271. 17:55to praying for five minutes a week for their nation voting in every election and engaging
  272. 18:00and we are attempting to get to a million before the presidential election.
  273. 18:05The huge left but we got going before us with the resources and the strategic ministry partners.
  274. 18:10We're now up to almost a hundred churches and national ministries joining us with us in that
  275. 18:15effort.
  276. 18:16So we're excited.
  277. 18:17Praise God.
  278. 18:18We could in the next 40 minutes, we could help you hit that million.
  279. 18:24So listeners lean in and listen up.
  280. 18:27How do Christians get engaged and become a part of that million people that God's called
  281. 18:34you to mobilize?
  282. 18:35Well, we've built the only 501c3 Christian ministry voter mobilization system, meaning
  283. 18:43we're tracking every election in the nation and we're pushing out reminders through text
  284. 18:48and emails to vote and to pray every Monday we send you a video and a scripture to do
  285. 18:54that.
  286. 18:55So people can go to our website at christiansengage.org and on that homepage there's a tab, take the
  287. 19:03pledge or it's all throughout our website, take the pledge to pray, vote, engage and take
  288. 19:08the pledge.
  289. 19:09Be one of those people that says, you know what, I'm not going to skip my local elections
  290. 19:13or my primary elections or those proposition elections ever again.
  291. 19:18And if Christians engage with to remind me when I'm a busy person, I will get it done
  292. 19:23and I will go do it and I will teach others to do the same thing.
  293. 19:27And then use your voice, influence people.
  294. 19:30So many ministry partners are putting it out in churches to activate their membership.
  295. 19:37We're so thankful to have people from Baptist churches, like Preston with Baptist in Dallas,
  296. 19:43upper room to so many different churches that are across the spectrum to mobilize people.
  297. 19:50So yeah, take the pledge to pray about and engage and share it with your family and friends.
  298. 19:54And let's get every believer in this nation praying, voting, and starting to get educated
  299. 20:00to make a difference.
  300. 20:01Give us a website and where people can sign up and begin to get engaged.
  301. 20:07Christians with an at Christians engaged.org Christians engaged.org take the pledge and also
  302. 20:16check out all of our amazing curriculum products as well to activate you on civics and biblical
  303. 20:24worldview regarding the upcoming presidential election. Now only seventy some days away.
  304. 20:32Do you encourage people to vote early or vote literally on election day?
  305. 20:41What do you think about early voting?
  306. 20:43I know some people who just tell me they feel like it won't be honestly tabulated.
  307. 20:51When do you feel is the most ideal time for people to vote?
  308. 20:55Well, I'll tell you this.
  309. 20:57I've been in closed-door meetings with some of the top conservative group organization
  310. 21:02leaders in the country and they are telling me that we are going to have one of the most
  311. 21:07secure elections we've ever had.
  312. 21:09The reality is that we've done a lot of work in the last four years and more Christians
  313. 21:16and more people are showing up as poll workers, election judges are tracking and making sure
  314. 21:22their counties are doing the right thing, that their states are doing the right thing.
  315. 21:26So and I'll repeat a line that Senator Ted Cruz says all the time.
  316. 21:31he says if every christian
  317. 21:33would vote in the station we would even be talking about election integrity or
  318. 21:38voter fraud because we would be dwarfing the boat
  319. 21:41or exactly
  320. 21:42we we we need to uh...
  321. 21:45protect our elections we all need to get involved in that fight but we need to
  322. 21:48get our christian friends out the polls
  323. 21:51like never before and uh...
  324. 21:53i i think we should vote early and vote often
  325. 21:57I think you don't want to take the chance of getting sick of something happening on election day.
  326. 22:04I think we all wait on a to per election day.
  327. 22:07We're going to lose, frankly, as a political consultant.
  328. 22:10I think we need to get out there and vote whenever it's convenient for our calendars, put
  329. 22:14it on your calendar and make a plan to vote.
  330. 22:18We're going to go to Oscar in Arkansas, our first college night.
  331. 22:21Hey, Bonnie, I have to tell you this.
  332. 22:23If it sounds like I'm boasting, may the Lord forgive me.
  333. 22:27But in 2016 and 2020, in my home state of North Carolina,
  334. 22:31in the Fentress Township Pleasant Garden Town Hall,
  335. 22:36my wife and I, I would get up at like 5 a.m.
  336. 22:39And I was first in line.
  337. 22:41Now, by the time the doors would open at like 7 a.m.,
  338. 22:44there were 500 people in line.
  339. 22:47I'm from a very rural community, a lot of farmers,
  340. 22:50a lot of just, you know, salt of the Earth Americans.
  341. 22:53But at least at our polling place,
  342. 22:56they know Alex and Angie McFarland will be the first ones
  343. 23:00at the door when the door opens.
  344. 23:03And I love that.
  345. 23:05Hey, let's go to Arkansas.
  346. 23:06Oscar and Arkansas, thank you for holding
  347. 23:08and welcome to our program with our guest, Bunny Poundz.
  348. 23:14Hello, thank you for listening.
  349. 23:16So I have a question and someone,
  350. 23:20I mean, I consider more sometimes than a Christian,
  351. 23:23a follower of Jesus, the idea of law.
  352. 23:27And in some ways, my question goes to like how Christianity,
  353. 23:33in the beginning had to find ways to separate themselves
  354. 23:36from Judaism, because in some ways,
  355. 23:39the idea of law of unforgiveness that Jesus taught us,
  356. 23:43and tries to overtake with some revolutionary energy
  357. 23:47so over the idea of depth and better,
  358. 23:50of the idea of master and slave.
  359. 23:53And it seems that I feel that sometimes that dynamic,
  360. 23:57it's still alive today, it's still about wars,
  361. 24:01still about winners and losers.
  362. 24:03And sometimes I feel that at the stage that it's our country
  363. 24:08that the idea of depth is still not addressed
  364. 24:12by any president still keeps increasing as a problem.
  365. 24:15and the idea of the Federal Reserve and interest
  366. 24:20just being imposed on people without anything
  367. 24:24regardless of the party.
  368. 24:26And I mean.
  369. 24:27Hey Oscar, let me jump in here.
  370. 24:29Let me let Ms. Pound's respond.
  371. 24:31Are you kind of basically asking,
  372. 24:34how do we reconcile our biblical Christian beliefs
  373. 24:39and just political involvement when the political world
  374. 24:43is so often not.
  375. 24:46Yes, when we did the heritage of our political world
  376. 24:49or institutions are before Christianity
  377. 24:52and Christianity, China, merged in a little human way,
  378. 24:57where we have the Greek ideas, we have the Roman things.
  379. 25:01And today we're still using those institutions.
  380. 25:03And sometimes maybe I'm pessimistic.
  381. 25:06I feel that voting is also keeping that system going
  382. 25:10and just hoping that some minor changes from minor things
  383. 25:14and will eventually lead us to the profound change that i think we need
  384. 25:19okay great bunny would you speak to this
  385. 25:22yeah uh... you know we know from the founding of our history in here in
  386. 25:27america you know
  387. 25:29the founders gave a gift in our constitution that we get to elect our
  388. 25:32representatives i think we can all agree as american christians were thankful we
  389. 25:37don't live in vinisuela cuba or north korea
  390. 25:40so we as that we the people have a responsibility to do something but you're
  391. 25:44right like as a christian
  392. 25:47uh... that's been engaged in government for a long time i remember working for my
  393. 25:51boss financial services chairman jeb hinserling
  394. 25:55as he lamented
  395. 25:56to all the republicans that nobody was paying attention to the federal reserve
  396. 26:01no one was paying attention to taxpayer
  397. 26:04funded uh... you know executive branch
  398. 26:08continuing to grow, the national debt continuing to grow, that there's spending issues on both
  399. 26:13sides of the aisle.
  400. 26:15I think what we have to do as individuals is we have to be obedient to what God's called
  401. 26:21us to and the issues we're called to champion and try to stir people towards those.
  402. 26:29It's not a perfect system, nothing is, but it's the best in the world.
  403. 26:34if we sit back and do nothing
  404. 26:37uh... that we are pretty much giving up
  405. 26:40to to think some of those reforms happen that we desire
  406. 26:44you know bunny i've got your book jesus and politics it's excellent i recommend
  407. 26:48it
  408. 26:49another book that has really deeply influence my life is by
  409. 26:53eight
  410. 26:54uh... legitimately brilliant writer that i've known for almost twenty years
  411. 26:58kneel mom
  412. 27:00uh... m a m m e and kneel mom and
  413. 27:03wrote a book called Jesus is involved in politics.
  414. 27:07And I don't recommend books lightly.
  415. 27:10Are you familiar with that book at Albany?
  416. 27:13I'm not, but I'm going to have to go look it up.
  417. 27:16Neil Mommen is an Indian PhD, lives in Silicon Valley.
  418. 27:23He's a computer programmer, IT, brilliant, brilliant guy.
  419. 27:28I mean, he's right on everything.
  420. 27:29He's a biblical, born-again Christian, pro-life, pro-family.
  421. 27:33He loves America.
  422. 27:35He came here.
  423. 27:36His family migrated here.
  424. 27:38And he is written an absolutely superb book demonstrating how, listen to this, folks, when
  425. 27:46Jesus dialogues with the Sanhedrin and the Sadducees and the Pharisees, Momma documents
  426. 27:54how Israel at the time of Christ had a standing police force. Jesus was essentially engaging
  427. 28:03the senators and congressmen of his time, the Sanhedrin, the Pharisees. And so he makes a compelling
  428. 28:11case, an incredibly scholarly case for not only the early church, the time of Christ,
  429. 28:18throughout history and of course,
  430. 28:20248 years of American life,
  431. 28:22how Christians should be engaged in politics.
  432. 28:27And I'll say this, we're gonna go back to our cause,
  433. 28:29but it's like Augustine said,
  434. 28:32until we are in the city of God,
  435. 28:34we have an obligation to be salt and light
  436. 28:37in the city of man.
  437. 28:38And I, Bunny, I think you make that point
  438. 28:42very powerfully as well.
  439. 28:44How about we go to Virginia,
  440. 28:45Holly from Virginia, the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  441. 28:49Holly, are you there?
  442. 28:51I'm here.
  443. 28:53Nice to speak with you.
  444. 28:54Thanks for holding.
  445. 28:55I have a comment and then a question.
  446. 29:00My comment is when people talk about the Democrat National Convention for the Party,
  447. 29:07a lot of times they say Democratic, but it's not Democratic.
  448. 29:11It's the Democrat.
  449. 29:13I think by just adding the IC to the end of it, it gives a twist to it all.
  450. 29:21It's not democratic.
  451. 29:23And I hear this repeated through news on both sides, people riding on both sides.
  452. 29:31I was led to listen to Jenna the supporting, but she said the Democrat National Convention.
  453. 29:35So that's just something that I think that we need to look into, that we're not calling
  454. 29:40them or referring to the other party as a democratic party.
  455. 29:44Right.
  456. 29:45That's just the side note.
  457. 29:47But the biggest thing is talking to a friend this morning is very, very intelligent and
  458. 29:53we were discussing searches getting involved with that.
  459. 30:05Holly you're breaking up a little bit.
  460. 30:08Speak to this if you would bunny about the party that ostensibly or the guardians of
  461. 30:13democracy are sitting forth their candidate in a very undemocratic way, aren't they?
  462. 30:19Yeah, it's a real interesting procedure that they've got.
  463. 30:25Maureen Dowell called it a coup.
  464. 30:28Yeah, it's an interesting dynamic.
  465. 30:31Yeah, as far as churches getting involved in politics, I've talked to probably 150 pastors
  466. 30:40in the last year and a half.
  467. 30:43Every pastor in this country can talk about pray, vote, engage without splitting their church.
  468. 30:49A lot of them are going to make up excuses.
  469. 30:53I'm worried about quote unquote separation of church and state at the farce.
  470. 30:57I'm worried about the Johnson amendment.
  471. 30:59That's a paper tiger.
  472. 31:01No pastor in a pulpit has to endorse candidates.
  473. 31:05They can endorse their friends if they want.
  474. 31:08Nobody's going to stop them.
  475. 31:09The IRS is not going to do anything.
  476. 31:11we were actually the ministry that was denied our tax-exempt status back in two
  477. 31:15thousand twenty one
  478. 31:17and became national news because the ira sent me a letter
  479. 31:21saying we're denying christians engage your tax-exempt status because
  480. 31:25bible teachings are typically affiliated with the republican party in
  481. 31:30canada
  482. 31:31quote in the end quote
  483. 31:33uh... that caused a whole ruckus in the country because they went on to say
  484. 31:37because we were teaching on the same day of human life
  485. 31:40physical justice, debt and taxation, Israel, these things are inherently Republican, therefore
  486. 31:46you're not nonpartisan.
  487. 31:48Well, if we hadn't fought that with our friends at First Liberty Institute, that could have
  488. 31:53affected every church and ministry in America if the IRS couldn't define Bible teachings as
  489. 31:59one party or over the other.
  490. 32:01What we're doing though is educating Christians to do their research.
  491. 32:06to each political party stands for. When you're electing a candidate, they're going to go
  492. 32:11vote with their leadership. What are they going to be voting for? When you're hiring a
  493. 32:16president, you're hiring somebody that's going to hire the entire executive branch, put in
  494. 32:21250 plus federal judges. And probably this time, put in another three Supreme Court vacancies
  495. 32:30that we're probably going to have in the next four years. These are huge decisions for
  496. 32:34Christians and we have to help them navigate that and pastors can do that in a
  497. 32:38nonpartisan, unthreatening way. Alex McFarland here our very special guest
  498. 32:44Bunny Pound's Joshua, Joe, Anthony, Texas, Ohio, North Carolina. We've got
  499. 32:49collars. We will do our best to get to you. Stay tuned the American Family Radio
  500. 32:54Network. The Hamilton Corner is back after this. Don't go away. The Hamilton
  501. 33:07quarter podcast and one-minute common
  502. 33:10territories are available at aFR.net
  503. 33:12back to the Hamilton Quarter on American
  504. 33:15Family Radio.
  505. 33:16Bunny Pounds is busy for God and country.
  506. 33:21Let me refer you to one of our websites
  507. 33:23which is Christiansengaged.org.
  508. 33:27Christians with an Sengaged.org.
  509. 33:30And also before we return to the
  510. 33:32callers, Bunny, first of all thanks for
  511. 33:34being with us tonight.
  512. 33:36But there's been a recent merger with
  513. 33:38the Family Policy Alliance. Tell us about that and what is the work with the Family Policy Alliance?
  514. 33:46Yeah, Family Policy Alliance was started 20 plus years ago by Dr. James Dobson. It used to be
  515. 33:54focused on the family action. And Dr. Dobson had a vision of creating family policy councils in all
  516. 34:0150 states that would champion pro-life legislation, pro-family legislation, and religious liberty.
  517. 34:10And so we currently have 41 family policy councils, and Christians engaged is now their
  518. 34:17church and civic engagement ministry.
  519. 34:19So the brand, our ministry that we've set up, our voter mobilization system, our communications,
  520. 34:26curriculum all remains the same but we're going to be able to scale within the
  521. 34:31family policy councils and work with the pastors and churches that they know on
  522. 34:36the ground. It's a big big development. There are many Christians listening
  523. 34:42probably some clergy as well. What would you like to see happen and I mean time is
  524. 34:49short but there is time. There's a window for people who believe in the
  525. 34:54Constitution, Christian values to make a difference.
  526. 34:57Ideally, best case scenario, what would you like to see the 100 million American Christians
  527. 35:04do in the next few weeks?
  528. 35:07I would like to see every American Christian go adopt a candidate in their city, in their
  529. 35:11state, in their county, go find one candidate that you can support, give them money, volunteer
  530. 35:18for them, help them get the vote out, and get in their life.
  531. 35:23You know, when I was running for Congress, the 120 plus volunteers I had that blocked
  532. 35:29walked for me, that went out and did things for me, became some of my closest friends
  533. 35:34today.
  534. 35:35If you want to make an influence on elected official or Candid's life, go get in their life
  535. 35:40right now in the next 90 plus days and watch how God can use you in their life and also
  536. 35:47in your community to elect righteous leaders.
  537. 35:50Amen.
  538. 35:51uh... well well said let's go to josh what in texas
  539. 35:56josh what you're on with our guest bunny pounds
  540. 36:00they uh...
  541. 36:02i'll do today
  542. 36:03blessed
  543. 36:04good to have you great
  544. 36:07all right well so i got
  545. 36:09i got kind of a question well
  546. 36:14i i kind of want to be uh... i know i'm not the only person that's
  547. 36:17predicament
  548. 36:19there's there's there's
  549. 36:21things that
  550. 36:23that Trump says that, I mean, it makes me cringe.
  551. 36:28And then there's things that Kamala does that just makes me sick.
  552. 36:32And it's kind of like I'm caught in this limbo of,
  553. 36:37why should I even go and vote for either one of these?
  554. 36:45And then, you know, it's just, there's a constant conflict of both.
  555. 36:50and it's i know i can't have the perfect
  556. 36:53candidate and i know i can't have
  557. 36:55the the perfect
  558. 36:57ideal person to be in the spot that would be jesus anyhow what that's not going to
  559. 37:02be for
  560. 37:03until he decides he wants to come back you know
  561. 37:08this
  562. 37:10but let me just think about you're thinking about this in a logical way
  563. 37:14you're
  564. 37:15you're seeing the reality of what bothers you about different personalities but
  565. 37:20We have, this is the problem, elections have consequences.
  566. 37:25And elections are about making decisions, right?
  567. 37:28We don't have the candidates, some of us, you know,
  568. 37:32might not have voted for Trump in the primary.
  569. 37:34We voted our conscience of the leader that we wanted.
  570. 37:38But now we have to vote our conscience now
  571. 37:40based on party platforms about principles,
  572. 37:44about the people they're gonna hire,
  573. 37:46about the judges they're gonna put in, right?
  574. 37:49So yes, we have to deal with some of those things
  575. 37:53in dealing with Trump's personality or this or that.
  576. 37:58But I wanna remind you also about all the down ballot races
  577. 38:02that are underneath those.
  578. 38:03Who are your senators and members of Congress
  579. 38:05that need your vote, your county officials,
  580. 38:08your share up, your county commissioners,
  581. 38:12all the other people.
  582. 38:13There's not just a presidential election going on here, folks.
  583. 38:17There are 20 or 30 races probably on each one of your ballots that need your research
  584. 38:23and need your participation.
  585. 38:24And so you've got to think about the whole big picture.
  586. 38:29Will said, Will said, let's go to Joe, you know, hi, Joe, thanks for holding.
  587. 38:34Welcome to our conversation with Bunny Pound.
  588. 38:38Hi, thank you for taking my call and thank you, Bonnie, for your ministry and all your
  589. 38:45hard work.
  590. 38:46I tuned into the program late so you may have covered some of it earlier.
  591. 38:49First of all, I'd like to ask if either one of you or both of you have seen the movie 2000
  592. 38:54Mules.
  593. 38:55Second question, have the weak, spineless Republicans put enough safeguards in place so we don't wake
  594. 39:02up on Wednesday morning and see the comma Harris got 85 million votes when knowing in reality
  595. 39:08she probably only got 60 million.
  596. 39:11I heard you mention Mike Pence in your book.
  597. 39:14I'm not sure what the relationship is with him, but in my humble opinion, the liberals
  598. 39:19played him like an absolute drama on January 6 letting the protesters into the White House
  599. 39:24when he was supposed to be confirming or sort of find the votes.
  600. 39:28And lastly, that last call just made me think of something else, 95% of the media is liberal.
  601. 39:36And so many of Trump's comments are taking out a context.
  602. 39:40If they played over and over again, like he,
  603. 39:42they said he said there's good people
  604. 39:44on both sides in Charlottesville.
  605. 39:45That was taken out of context, been debunked.
  606. 39:49The one time, the COVID, they said,
  607. 39:51can't people just drink bleach?
  608. 39:53As a sarcastic comment, and that was taken out of context.
  609. 39:58Oh yeah, yeah.
  610. 39:59Hey Joe, let us jump in here for a minute.
  611. 40:00Regarding the film, 2000 Mules,
  612. 40:02my longtime friend of 20 years,
  613. 40:04Dinesh D'Souza made that film.
  614. 40:06It was about election fraud in the 2020 election.
  615. 40:10It's a good movie, 2000 mules.
  616. 40:13Dinesh is great.
  617. 40:14He and I have been in countless events over the last 17, 18 years, and I hope to have him
  618. 40:21in our fall 2025 apologetics worldview conference.
  619. 40:27But let's zoom in on one thing if we could, Bunny, about the color ask, have the Republicans
  620. 40:35done enough about the certain voter fraud attempts that we can expect from the Democrats
  621. 40:43this fall.
  622. 40:44What do you think about that bunny?
  623. 40:47I think we have come so far in four years and I want to encourage everybody.
  624. 40:52As I said earlier in the program, I've been in closed door meetings with the top level
  625. 40:57organization leaders in the country from America.
  626. 41:01policy institute to heritage foundation to people that are really working on this
  627. 41:08issue day and night. One of my former clients, Lee Zeldin, is leading the
  628. 41:14election integrity and election mobilization for America first. So there's
  629. 41:20a lot going on and the experts I've heard from have said we're gonna have
  630. 41:25some of the most secure elections we've ever had in this country. You know
  631. 41:30So individual citizens have been checking and cleaning up the voter rolls in our counties.
  632. 41:37Higher state legislatures around the country have been passing laws because of citizens getting
  633. 41:43evolved to make sure that the 2020 fiasco does not happen again.
  634. 41:47So I think we're in a really, really good place.
  635. 41:50I want to encourage people to go out there and mobilize people to vote right now.
  636. 41:56And above all folks, I know it's easy to say, but I'm completely serious.
  637. 42:01Pray.
  638. 42:02Have your churches pray.
  639. 42:04Because we know Almighty God can rule and overrule.
  640. 42:08Anthony from North Carolina, my home state.
  641. 42:11Anthony, you're on with our guest, Bunny Pounds.
  642. 42:13Yes, thank you for taking my call.
  643. 42:17My question is with a comment, really.
  644. 42:19To me, this election is kind of similar to the 2016 Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
  645. 42:26And I want the bad thinking that Hillary had won
  646. 42:30and woke up in Donald Trump had won.
  647. 42:33So a lot of people feel like a lot of Christians
  648. 42:37think that just because God knows who's gonna win,
  649. 42:40why should I vote?
  650. 42:42That doesn't make sense.
  651. 42:45Well, you know, if the Bible teaches two things,
  652. 42:49clearly it's the sovereignty of God,
  653. 42:51but also the responsibility of man.
  654. 42:54And, and, Bunny, wouldn't you agree?
  655. 42:56I know part of one of the reasons I appreciate you so much is that you are very politically
  656. 43:01astute, but I know you are very faithful to the Lord Jesus and His Word.
  657. 43:07And it's like I've heard people say, you know, God is providential, but we are responsible
  658. 43:15to do what we can do.
  659. 43:18So we do have a duty to do the right, don't we?
  660. 43:24We do, Alex.
  661. 43:25And all throughout the New Testament, you hear that, hey, they're not going to hear
  662. 43:31unless a preacher goes and brings the gospel.
  663. 43:34Blessed are the beautiful feet of those who share good news, right?
  664. 43:38Nobody's going to hear the good news of who Jesus is if you and I don't open our mouths
  665. 43:43and preach the gospel and tell them the good news.
  666. 43:47The same thing is leaders don't get miraculously put into office.
  667. 43:51is people showing up to the polls.
  668. 43:56I want to remind people every vote matters.
  669. 43:59There was a city councilman that lost his election
  670. 44:03in Washington state last year, late last year,
  671. 44:06by one vote.
  672. 44:08He lost that race by one vote.
  673. 44:09And you know who he forgot to vote for?
  674. 44:12He forgot to vote for himself.
  675. 44:14He did not vote and he lost that election, right?
  676. 44:19So one vote makes a difference.
  677. 44:21we've had state represses in Texas where, you know,
  678. 44:25a state representative or primary race
  679. 44:27that was decided by 40 votes, 42 votes.
  680. 44:30These things, especially in these battleground states guys,
  681. 44:34this presidential election is not over.
  682. 44:37You know, people thought when Trump had his assassination
  683. 44:40attempt, it's over, I'm claiming victory, it's not over.
  684. 44:45And a lot of these battleground states are gonna be
  685. 44:49one by a thousand votes here or a thousand votes there.
  686. 44:54We have to show up in every realm.
  687. 44:57Let's go to Beverly in Oklahoma, Beverly.
  688. 45:00Welcome to the program.
  689. 45:01It's about now that I'm wishing we had a second hour,
  690. 45:05but Beverly, you're on.
  691. 45:07Hi, I'm interested in a resource that compares the platforms
  692. 45:12to the Bible to show the biblical stances.
  693. 45:16It seems like on the website.
  694. 45:18that's why I thought, can you explain that a little bit to all everybody?
  695. 45:22Yes, we have an incredible resource. It's called the biblical comparison to the party
  696. 45:27platforms. Go to our amazing website, christiansengaged.org. Go to the very home page, put in your email
  697. 45:35and you'll get that for free. It's 21 pages and we go through 20 different issues. My
  698. 45:40incredible vice president, Ben Quine, helped me put that together. It's based on the platform
  699. 45:48last time is the one that was up there for the primary but we've got the new one
  700. 45:53coming out in the next week with once now that the Democrat platform is out we
  701. 45:58can update that for the general election so yeah it's an amazing product so check
  702. 46:03back with that and then also we have state resource pages for every state so
  703. 46:08check that out and take the pledge to pray vote and engage and that'll get you
  704. 46:12in our system.
  705. 46:13Oh, bunny.
  706. 46:14All our resources.
  707. 46:16For churches and listen, I had a pastor, major, major pastor out west asked me for this yesterday,
  708. 46:23do you have a PowerPoint slide that like one slide that would be the basic overview of the
  709. 46:30DNC versus the RNC platforms?
  710. 46:33Is there that sort of a resource out there somewhere?
  711. 46:36I don't have one slide, but again, we go through every issue.
  712. 46:42the bible says what marxism says with the democrat platform the republican platform
  713. 46:46says and all quote on our on our document so
  714. 46:49uh... they can pull from that and they can
  715. 46:52take that but we we felt like we need to do a more comprehensive doctor for
  716. 46:55people
  717. 46:56and again uh... the website where that may be found is
  718. 47:01christians engage dot work christians with an s engaged with a d dot work

  723. 47:17yes you're on
  724. 47:19okay i use uh...
  725. 47:21unused a parable of the talents when it comes to voting
  726. 47:24we'll look at it is if you don't vote
  727. 47:27it's like the man who bared is telling the ground because that's your voice
  728. 47:30that's your talent
  729. 47:31wonderful also if you if you vote for someone to somebody who cannot win you
  730. 47:35you write what he did you don't like trump
  731. 47:38that he is also bearing your vote in the ground
  732. 47:40leery thank you for saying that you know in the last election i had several
  733. 47:43friends say
  734. 47:44well i'm gonna write in billy graham in the apostle pot will that might feel good
  735. 47:48but that's a waste of a vote
  736. 47:49but we've got forty five seconds maybe give us some final thoughts and and a
  737. 47:54a call to action
  738. 47:56have hope
  739. 47:57christians walk with jesus every day love him he's the only thing that really
  740. 48:01mattered but go out and be leaders
  741. 48:04because we are the answer.
  742. 48:05The body of Christ is the hands and feet of Jesus
  743. 48:08and we have the answers for our society.
  744. 48:11Amen.
