AFA Action’s Dr. Heather Heffner shares voter guides and ballot-measure resources

Election Integrity

Show notes

How can believers bring light to a dark moment without compromising their integrity? Abraham Hamilton III reflects on Proverbs 11:1, 3 and God’s judgment of dishonest dealings, while urging families to lead with faith at home and citizens to participate in every election. Then, AFA Action’s Dr. Heather Heffner shares voter guides and ballot-measure resources, as Hamilton examines Minnesota’s voter-vouching system and the felony charges against journalists who exposed it.

  10. 0:28and now the Hamilton Corner.
  11. 0:31Good evening, everyone.
  12. 0:35Welcome to the Hamilton Corner.
  13. 0:36My name is Abraham Hamilton, the third joined
  14. 0:39by the corner contingent right across from me,
  15. 0:41my man 100 grand Mr. Bobby,
  16. 0:43R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-O-S-A.
  17. 0:46And in the screening room, we got my main man,
  18. 0:49the mean in pristine twin brother of the formerly,
  19. 0:55Mrs. Green, none other than mean, Cole Green.
  20. 0:58But he's a really nice fellow, nice young man.
  21. 1:02Yes, it was his sister who interned with us this summer.
  22. 1:05But Cole said, we're not trying to intern.
  23. 1:07We're trying to make it official like a referee with a whistle.
  24. 1:11Well, we're ready to rock and roll with today's edition
  25. 1:13of the program.
  26. 1:14I'm the host of the program.
  27. 1:17And at this very moment, many of you, if not most of you,
  28. 1:19are making your transition from your part-time jobs,
  29. 1:22where you generate an income to your full-time jobs,
  30. 1:25where you cultivate an outcome.
  31. 1:26And as you do so, I want to remind you to do so
  32. 1:29with intentionality. That's right, intentionality, understand in the
  33. 1:33primacy that God places on family and welcoming God's view to govern, to
  34. 1:37guard, and to God your engagement because what goes on in your house is far
  35. 1:42more important than what goes on in the White House. Of course, that is not meant
  36. 1:46to denigrate or minimize the significance of what happens in the White House, but
  37. 1:50it's simply to place proper significance under what happens in our
  38. 1:55homes because the reality is that as vitally important as it is, we must, and I'm going
  39. 2:01to emphasize that throughout today's program, we must vote. We must let our voices be heard.
  40. 2:08If we refuse to do so, we are saying we are content with allowing others to dictate to
  41. 2:15us the direction that our country should follow. And as you've heard me say numerous times,
  42. 2:20darkness is not an affirmative force, but it does reoccupy the space that is vacated by
  43. 2:24the light. And if the people of God refuse to help shape the direction and the trajectory
  44. 2:32of our nation, we must understand that Godless people will. You must understand that. I'm
  45. 2:40still pondering the reality of Israel's election with 77.7% of the eligible voting populace participating.
  46. 2:52And historical average in our country, particularly for midterm elections, is only about 40%, 40%
  47. 3:02of eligible voters participate.
  48. 3:05Guys, that's embarrassing, frankly.
  49. 3:09That is embarrassing.
  50. 3:11And we've been able to be the longest enduring constitutional republic under one form of government
  51. 3:17in the history of the world, when we should be a part of helping to shape its future.
  52. 3:23So as you're making your transition, I will reiterate what I say, what I said previously.
  53. 3:27What goes on in your house, guys, it's more important than what goes on in the White House.
  54. 3:31But we have an opportunity to help to shape what happens in the White House by our civic
  55. 3:36participation.
  56. 3:37So as you're making your transition, as you're making your transition, making your transition,
  57. 3:42let this be a day.
  58. 3:43If you have not started this yet, let this be a day where you lead, especially husbands
  59. 3:50and fathers who are listening to me.
  60. 3:51Do you lead your family and worship right,
  61. 3:53starting right in your homes?
  62. 3:56You know, one of the challenges with young people
  63. 3:57and worship in the Lord in the corporate worship settings
  64. 4:00because unfortunately for too many of us,
  65. 4:02that that is an unfamiliar experience.
  66. 4:06When the reality is, when we gather corporately
  67. 4:08with the Lord's people as believers,
  68. 4:09we should do so together corporately to do
  69. 4:12what we are already doing before we gather corporately.
  70. 4:15Right?
  71. 4:15But if we would exalt the King of Kings
  72. 4:16and the Lord of Lords starting first in our homes,
  73. 4:20there's no question as to what can transpire
  74. 4:22in our society, but we have to get it right starting at home first. Everything that happens
  75. 4:30within our society, it is the byproduct of what does or does not transpire within our home. So the
  76. 4:37word of God, we go proverbs. Chapter 11 is where I'm going to begin for today's program's proverbs.
  77. 4:43Chapter 11, the first three verses of this proverb is where we're going to go.
  78. 4:51All right, this is what the Word of God says. Proverbs 11 verse 1, a false balance is an
  79. 4:58abomination to the Lord. But a just weight is his delight. When pride comes, then comes
  80. 5:06disgrace. But with the humble is wisdom. The integrity of the upright guides them, but the
  81. 5:15The crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.
  82. 5:21Starting at verse 1, a false balance is an abomination to the Lord.
  83. 5:24Some translations also render that phrasing there as unjust scales.
  84. 5:30A false balance or unjust scales is calling into mind the historic utilization of a balance
  85. 5:39as a mercantile terminology, a term that would apply to an instrument that was used
  86. 5:48in biog and selling and with trading amongst people.
  87. 5:53When you had schemers, would you say from Hinnepin County, Minnesota, did you say that
  88. 5:59about?
  89. 6:00You had schemers who would try to swindle people out of goods or out of money by having
  90. 6:07of false balance, having unjust scales.
  91. 6:10Well, the Lord in His Word is reminding us that people are not the only ones who are evaluating
  92. 6:17whether or not scales are just or not, whether balances are true or not.
  93. 6:26God is reminding us that He, He, assesses the fairness and the justness of scales and
  94. 6:34balances.
  95. 6:36And I'm saying that because there are wicked people, there are, who really believe that
  96. 6:44they are so shrewd that they are getting away with their treachery.
  97. 6:48And I just want to remind you that they're not.
  98. 6:50They're not.
  99. 6:51There are many people that will be held account on this side of eternity.
  100. 6:55But rest assured, even those who think they escape justice on this side of eternity, nobody
  101. 7:02escapes.
  102. 7:03Ultimate justice.
  103. 7:05Nobody does.
  104. 7:06A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, to the Lord.
  105. 7:15So when we have conversations and we're planning to get into this later in the show with Mary
  106. 7:22Patola, that's how you pronounce your name, in Alaska, and the candidate farming, trying
  107. 7:32to find a person finding every potential registered voter in Alaska whose name is Dan Sullivan
  108. 7:39and having evidence that shows that her campaign was involved in it while they say Maripatola
  109. 7:44herself is not aware that it was going on.
  110. 7:47But the New York Times, and this is something people don't realize, it wasn't some conservative
  111. 7:51outlet that broke this story, it was the New York Times.
  112. 7:55The New York Times broke this story as a result of interviewing people close to the campaign,
  113. 8:00Mary Patola's former campaign manager.
  114. 8:03Do you understand what I'm saying?
  115. 8:05The former campaign manager.
  116. 8:09The evidence that the Times used to break this story included text messages as I mentioned,
  117. 8:14memoranda circulated within the campaign.
  118. 8:19All for the express purposes of siphoning votes away from the elected and incumbent US
  119. 8:25Senator who's running for re-election.
  120. 8:30Dan, see this is not confusing to get, Dan, S Sullivan.
  121. 8:35You know, the S and the J one letter, right?
  122. 8:39A false balance is a abomination to the Lord.
  123. 8:44But you have people saying, oh, well, sure,
  124. 8:47Mary O'Meary Potola doesn't know about it.
  125. 8:50Yeah, all right.
  126. 8:51If you got a scheme, how do you think it works?
  127. 8:54Have you ever heard the term plausible to the liability?
  128. 8:57That there's a reason why when you have drug dealers,
  129. 8:59the big time drug dealers don't hang out on the corner.
  130. 9:02Why?
  131. 9:03So they have a fall guy, but it shows you the kind of sleaze
  132. 9:07that is involved or you talk with him in county minnesota
  133. 9:11to a jamzell keefing cam higby were involved in exposing
  134. 9:15exposing
  135. 9:17how easy it is to cheat in minnesota and instead of
  136. 9:21a moving made
  137. 9:22to
  138. 9:23secure
  139. 9:24elixis minnesota no no no no no they turn
  140. 9:28the governmental prosecutor or dare i say persecute or you'll dial
  141. 9:32onto james oakie
  142. 9:34and cam higby
  143. 9:35because they were embarrassed.
  144. 9:38That you mean to say, I can vouch for up to eight other people?
  145. 9:42And then if you get down into the details of the law,
  146. 9:45if you have a person who works at a residential facility,
  147. 9:48you know like where older people may live
  148. 9:50or another type of residential facility,
  149. 9:53the voucher doesn't even have to be registered
  150. 9:55for the themselves,
  151. 9:55they just have to be employed by the facility.
  152. 9:58And if they are a voucher from the facility,
  153. 10:00they can have an unlimited amount of vouching.
  154. 10:05So the government there was embarrassed
  155. 10:08And so their conclusion is, well,
  156. 10:11it's kind of like Alyssa Slotkin.
  157. 10:13We talked about yesterday, right?
  158. 10:16You wanna have that deterrent effect, you see.
  159. 10:20Now, now you don't wanna come investigate around these parts
  160. 10:23because if you do, you might find yourself
  161. 10:25in a whole lot of trouble.
  162. 10:29Now, he can be no key for facing felony charges,
  163. 10:31but I want to remind you that a false balance
  164. 10:35is an abomination to the Lord.
  165. 10:39But a just weight, a just weight is the Lord's delight.
  166. 10:45When pride comes, then comes disgrace.
  167. 10:51But with the humble, there is wisdom.
  168. 10:56The integrity of the upright guides them.
  169. 10:59But the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.
  170. 11:02As we see these various iterations of wickedness and treachery,
  171. 11:07treachery. Guys, remember, you don't return in kind. But just because they are wicked in
  172. 11:15scheming and treacherous and conniving that we don't respond in that same manner. The weapons
  173. 11:21of our warfare, not carnal, they're mighty through God to the destruction of fortresses,
  174. 11:28to the pulling down of strongholds. And every now and again, we need to be reminded of that
  175. 11:33because just like everybody else,
  176. 11:35as human beings, we could be tempted
  177. 11:37into sliding over into the muck,
  178. 11:41where the muck rickers are.
  179. 11:43But we must resist that.
  180. 11:45A false balance is an abomination to the Lord
  181. 11:49and make no mistake about it.
  182. 11:51God will not be mocked.
  183. 11:54So as you're considering participation,
  184. 11:56and this is about sure this election season
  185. 12:00that culminates next Tuesday,
  186. 12:04I really hate saying election season, that really bothers me.
  187. 12:08But this is where we are.
  188. 12:10But this is also far broader than an election season because I would urge you to consider
  189. 12:17what is your plan for November 4th?
  190. 12:21Should the Lord Terry, what will you do differently on November 4th?
  191. 12:27What is God moving you to be and to do in your neighborhood?
  192. 12:31What is God calling you to in your homes?
  193. 12:35We cannot continue to go about things the same way we have been going about them without
  194. 12:39any type of biblical or I should say Bible driven examination as to where we are and yet
  195. 12:48in looking for and expecting a different outcome.
  196. 12:50Guys, it doesn't work like that.
  197. 12:51It doesn't work like that.
  198. 12:56There are lots of things we inherited, freedom we inherited.
  199. 12:59This robust and abundant nation we've inherited, but Benjamin Franklin said it all the way back.
  200. 13:041787, what have you, Rodo Benjamin?
  201. 13:06republic if you can keep it. That if was a suggestion that keeping the republic was not
  202. 13:12an automatic nor foregone conclusion. It was not then and it is not now. God has placed you
  203. 13:21and I in this nation at this very time. God has given us the access and the resources that
  204. 13:27we have in this nation at this very time. God expects you and I, considered a parallel
  205. 13:33of the talents. God expects you and I to use the things and the resources and the access
  206. 13:42that He has granted to us to put the light on the lampstand. We must, I say daily, but
  207. 13:50we must be about our Father's business. God has planted you and I in this nation at this
  208. 13:55time and in this moment, we must not miss our moment as crazy as it is in our culture.
  209. 14:05as challenging and difficult as it is in different points and in different ways.
  210. 14:09I'm excited and grateful to be alive right here and right now, first and foremost,
  211. 14:14because this is the time that God has ordained for me.
  212. 14:17Secondarily, it's because we have the opportunity to put the light on the lampstand.
  213. 14:24And as the light is properly placed, darkness has no choice but to retreat.
  214. 14:30God can do this any way he wants to, but he's chosen to use his people as his hands
  215. 14:35and feet that is you and me.
  216. 14:39And if you're listening to me and you have not yet placed
  217. 14:42your faith in Jesus Christ for eternal salvation,
  218. 14:45what are you waiting for?
  219. 14:47Today is a day of salvation.
  220. 14:49There's one name under heaven by which men must be saved.
  221. 14:53That is Jesus, the Christ.
  222. 14:55Yeshua, how much He is?
  223. 15:00Hello, I'm Tom Wildman, President of American Family
  224. 15:03Association and American Family Radio.

  241. 15:53I'll kidding aside, we'd love to see you
  242. 15:55on one of our 2027 spiritual heritage tours.
  243. 16:06Shining light into the darkness,
  244. 16:08this is the Hamilton Corner,
  245. 16:09on American Family Radio.
  246. 16:12Welcome back to the Hamilton Corner, Abraham Hamilton
  247. 16:15III here, and I'm delighted to have on the program
  248. 16:17with me right now the Director of Communications
  249. 16:20for AFA Action, which is the Governmental Affairs Affiliate
  250. 16:23of the American Family Association.
  251. 16:25The Director of Communications for AFA Action
  252. 16:27is none other than Dr. Heather Hefner.
  253. 16:30Heather, thank you for joining me here
  254. 16:31in the Hamilton Corner this evening.
  255. 16:33Good evening, Abe.
  256. 16:34I'm so happy to be here.
  257. 16:35Thank you for having me.
  258. 16:36Oh, it is truly, truly my pleasure.
  259. 16:39I wanted to take a few moments just to kind of give our audience a little bit of who you
  260. 16:42are.
  261. 16:43I mentioned the AFA action is the governmental affairs affiliate of AFA.
  262. 16:46There's three divisions under AFA action.
  263. 16:48We have the Center for Judicial Renewal in which we engage in things to affect an impacted
  264. 16:54judiciary.
  265. 16:55That includes research for federal courts, state courts, really moving toward being a
  266. 16:59major influence for judicial appointments from presidents at the federal level and things
  267. 17:04of that nature.
  268. 17:05We have the Center for Government Renewal through which we do lots of lobbying state by
  269. 17:08state across the country and we have the i-voter guide division which exists primarily to provide
  270. 17:14voter information to make sure we not only have people willing to vote but those who cast an educated
  271. 17:19vote in vote widely about before we get into a lot of those details i want to invite you to just
  272. 17:25share a little bit how you came to become a believer in the lord jesus christ
  273. 17:31absolutely uh and that you know that's the most important part that should be our foundation
  274. 17:35every time. So as when I was a teenager, we actually had a youth night at our church as a lot of youth
  275. 17:44programs do. We had a group come in from a local Christian college and they did some speaking. They did a
  276. 17:52skit. And when they did this skit, it was all about this girl who was kind of the main character of the
  277. 17:59skit. And she was being pulled in all of these different directions by the world. And that was putting
  278. 18:04chains on her and she just didn't feel like she could get free and she felt trapped.
  279. 18:09And then when she felt like she was at her lowest point, Jesus showed up and freed her
  280. 18:15from everything that the world had placed on her as a chain and as a boundary.
  281. 18:21And that really got used that to convict my heart.
  282. 18:26And that was when I made the decision to come to Christ and give my life to him and serve
  283. 18:31him.
  284. 18:32Wow, praise God, praise God.
  285. 18:35And as you mentioned, that is the foundation for everything that we do.
  286. 18:37It should be for us individually.
  287. 18:39It also is a foundation for what we do here through AFA in the various ministries under that umbrella.
  288. 18:44And I know you have you are a PhD, hence my description of you and introduction as doctor Heather Heffner.
  289. 18:51How did you come to the place to be the communications director for AFA action?
  290. 18:57Great question because my doctorate is in nothing that remotely has anything to do with
  291. 19:04where I am currently.
  292. 19:05So I was in education pursuing education.
  293. 19:10My goal was to be an administrator in education,
  294. 19:12which is what my doctorate is in.
  295. 19:15And that had been my goal.
  296. 19:19I thought that was my purpose.
  297. 19:20I thought that was where God had called me to be.
  298. 19:22And as he often does, he says,
  299. 19:24hey, your plan isn't exactly in line with my plan right now.
  300. 19:29So he opened a door.
  301. 19:31My husband actually had been at AFA for several years,
  302. 19:35about 10 years already,
  303. 19:37and through those connections, doors were opened.
  304. 19:40And I said, okay, God,
  305. 19:42if this is where you're gonna lead me,
  306. 19:44I'm gonna give it a try,
  307. 19:45because the worst thing you can do is tell God,
  308. 19:48no, when he opens the door.
  309. 19:50So very true.
  310. 19:51Shout out to both your loving husband.
  311. 19:54Absolutely, thank you.
  312. 19:56Yes.
  313. 19:57Now, with all of this, we are in the time
  314. 20:00where I've been describing it as the culmination of election season, you know,
  315. 20:04gone other days when we had election day. I mean, what were we doing then, right?
  316. 20:07We had to make this move or election season.
  317. 20:10And next Tuesday is the culmination of the opportunity in most places for people to
  318. 20:16cast their votes as the director of communications for AFA action,
  319. 20:21which you're still in education in a lot of ways, just differently than you probably
  320. 20:26were expecting to be before.
  321. 20:27That is true.
  322. 20:28That is true.
  323. 20:29What are some of the things that are available to voters to help them to become equipped to
  324. 20:34enter the ballot booth with all of the information that they need so they can confidently cast
  325. 20:40a wise ballot?
  326. 20:41What are some of the things that are available to people who are listening and watching the
  327. 20:46show right now?
  328. 20:48We have several great free resources and our newest one that is very specific to this election
  329. 20:55is that AFA action has a free state-by-state guide
  330. 20:59that's covering 58 ballot measures
  331. 21:02across all 24 states that will have measures
  332. 21:05on the ballot come Tuesday.
  333. 21:07And we're talking about topics that include life,
  334. 21:11writing the right to abortion into state constitutions.
  335. 21:14We're talking about voter ID and election integrity.
  336. 21:17We're talking about parental rights.
  337. 21:18We're talking about protecting women's sports,
  338. 21:22girls sports at the K-12 and college levels.
  339. 21:25We're talking about defending the sanctity of marriage
  340. 21:31at one man, one woman, how God designed it to be.
  341. 21:34These are the things that are going to be
  342. 21:35on people's ballots come Tuesday.
  343. 21:38And Abe, as a mom, the races that I care about most
  344. 21:41are the ones that most people are actually skipping.
  345. 21:45They're the ones down at the bottom of the ballot.
  346. 21:46So a new Barna study found that 85% of reliable voters
  347. 21:51show up for the big races.
  348. 21:53They do the top of the ballot,
  349. 21:54but only 55% are making it to the bottom of the ballot.
  350. 21:58And that's where the decisions closest to home are being made.
  351. 22:01My kids may not ever go sit in the Senate chamber,
  352. 22:04but where they are going to go sit every day
  353. 22:06is in a classroom that is run by a school board
  354. 22:09that so many people are not even bothering to vote for.
  355. 22:13So we can't ask God to bless our communities
  356. 22:16and our families and our children
  357. 22:18on Sunday morning when we're sitting in church
  358. 22:20and then hand those decisions over to whoever bothers to finish the ballot on
  359. 22:24the election day
  360. 22:25and if i recall correctly having
  361. 22:27you read that study by by uh... doctor charge george barner
  362. 22:31uh... he indicated that the primary reason why people usually skip
  363. 22:35those elections down to the lower parts of the ballot was that they had
  364. 22:39insufficient information and i recall that correctly that's right
  365. 22:43that's right
  366. 22:44uh... they cited that
  367. 22:46the main reason is because of that lack of information and that is
  368. 22:50why we developed the state-by-state guide and all you have to do is go to afaaction.net,
  369. 22:56that's afaaction.net and you're going to click on the blue and red banner at the top of the page
  370. 23:03and that will take you to the state-by-state guide where you can find every ballot measure
  371. 23:09for your state so that you can go into the ballot informed. In the Barna study, you know,
  372. 23:14it asked voters what would get them to finish the ballot and the number one answer, as you said,
  373. 23:19ahead of polls, endorsements, and even a pastor's encouragement was a voter guide they can trust.
  374. 23:26We also have iVotargide, which is exactly that. All you have to do is go to iVotargide.com.
  375. 23:32You type in your address and you will receive a personalized voter guide based exclusively on
  376. 23:40your ballot. Voters are hungry for this help. 64% of them in this study said that having trusted
  377. 23:46information would make them more likely to vote in down ballot races.
  378. 23:50They want to get it right.
  379. 23:52They just need the tools.
  380. 23:53Mmm.
  381. 23:54And that's why we're trying to make these available and make sure everybody knows.
  382. 23:57And if you're listening right now, we're watching the show and you're aware of these
  383. 24:01tools and things that are, these items and this information, please share it with your
  384. 24:05friends and your families and your loved ones to make sure they can be, they can join you
  385. 24:11to become a part of the ranks of the informed wise voters.
  386. 24:15Now Heather, we're going to ask you when it comes to iVotarguide, what are some of the
  387. 24:19things that people can expect to find about the candidates once they go to iVotarguide after
  388. 24:26having clicked on iVotarguide.com input the information that you mentioned.
  389. 24:31What are some of the things they can expect to find there?
  390. 24:34Right, once they go to iVotarguide.com, they type in their address.
  391. 24:38They're going to find a candidate profile for each candidate on their ballot that's going
  392. 24:43to show questionnaire answers if they filled out our questionnaire. It's going to show them
  393. 24:48voting records. What did they vote on? What did they not vote on? It's going to show them
  394. 24:52endorsements. Who are they endorsing? Who is endorsing them? It's going to show them
  395. 24:56donations that they are accepting and also who they're making donations to. So it's a very
  396. 25:01comprehensive research that is going into these candidate profiles and they will also see a rating
  397. 25:08of liberal to conservative, verified liberal
  398. 25:13to verify conservative so that they get a full picture.
  399. 25:16And these are rated by real people.
  400. 25:18You know, we're not inputting this into an AI algorithm
  401. 25:21and letting it spit out what it thinks we wanna hear.
  402. 25:25These are real people that are trained,
  403. 25:27vetted volunteer panelists that are rating
  404. 25:29each of these candidates.
  405. 25:30And then that's going to an oversight panel
  406. 25:32that reviews every one of those ratings.
  407. 25:34Now, I've been—that's so helpful and there's so much information that it will be exceedingly
  408. 25:40beneficial for people to access and then utilize it as you go to cash your ballot in your state
  409. 25:46and your polling location.
  410. 25:47I've been talking quite a bit just this week.
  411. 25:51Israel's parliamentary elections took place and which will ultimately determine the next
  412. 25:57prime minister and president if there's going to be a change or is it going to be a continuation
  413. 26:00of Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, but one of the things that struck me is that they had
  414. 26:06record turnout for these elections.
  415. 26:0877.7% of voting eligible Israelis participated in the elections this week.
  416. 26:16The average U.S. participation, particularly in midterm elections, hovers around about
  417. 26:2240%.
  418. 26:2440%.
  419. 26:25What would you say to someone who would say, ah, Heather, election selections?
  420. 26:30I'm going to sit out, none of these votes matter anyway.
  421. 26:35People are going to do what they want to do anyway.
  422. 26:37I'm going to sit out.
  423. 26:38What would you say to a person who might make that suggestion to you?
  424. 26:43I would say that it's not an option to disengage.
  425. 26:49Disengagement is not an option.
  426. 26:50We have to go out and vote.
  427. 26:52We have to vote the entire ballot every single race, every ballot measure, because if we make
  428. 26:57the choice not to vote. We are handing over the outcomes to someone else. And with candidates,
  429. 27:08which is top of the ballot, usually as candidates and people go and vote, that is giving someone
  430. 27:15else the ability to speak on our behalf, so to speak. But when we're talking about these
  431. 27:22ballot measures that are at the bottom of the ballot, we have the opportunity to make
  432. 27:28decisions on policy. And if we are not doing that, these are things like judges and mayors
  433. 27:35and sheriffs, school board, these are things that directly affect our daily life. So disengaging
  434. 27:43and not showing up is not showing up for our families and our children and our communities.
  435. 27:49And the resource at AFAAction.net concerning the ballot measures is such a valuable resource,
  436. 27:55because how many times if people showed up to vote,
  437. 28:00and many of them, unfortunately,
  438. 28:01they were unaware that there were even ballot measures
  439. 28:04on their ballot, let alone,
  440. 28:07would they know how they would wanna vote?
  441. 28:08Because sometimes the ballot measures are worded
  442. 28:11in a kind of tricky way, they're convoluted,
  443. 28:15they're wordy in many instances,
  444. 28:17very, very difficult to discern.
  445. 28:18So having the time to sit with the ballot measure
  446. 28:22before you enter the booth, you get to see the way that we present it through
  447. 28:27AFA Action and you get to assess that long before you ever step into the voting
  448. 28:32booth is just a valuable, valuable resource. Would you share again where
  449. 28:36listeners and viewers can go so that they can get access to the state ballot
  450. 28:40measure guide that AFA Action has put together? Yes, that state ballot measure
  451. 28:45guide for all 58 measures across all 24 states that will have them on the ballot
  452. 28:50can be found at a F A action dot net. And all you're going to do is click on the red and
  453. 28:55blue banner at the top of the page that's a F A action dot net and Abe, you're a pastor.
  454. 29:01And you would think or hope at least that the first place believers would turn for, you
  455. 29:06know, the kind of guidance and help that they need for even in the election would be the
  456. 29:10church. But we found this alarming statistic statistic that only 7% of voters say they
  457. 29:15get election information from their church.
  458. 29:18While unsurprisingly, they're turning to social media, 40%, it was at number one where they're
  459. 29:24turning for this information.
  460. 29:26So if the church doesn't equip God's people, the world we know will and it already is.
  461. 29:32So ASA Action and I-Voter Guides resources, I want to say, are not just available for individuals.
  462. 29:39These are free resources that pastors and church leaders can use to equip and mobilize their
  463. 29:46whole congregation so that the church can be part of the solution.
  464. 29:50So well said, unfortunately, too many churches have kind of bought the lie that the church
  465. 29:56is not supposed to be involved in politics.
  466. 30:00The reality is, and I've said this numerous times, that when people who are applying for
  467. 30:05or electoral positions, or who may be in electoral positions,
  468. 30:08discuss things that are governed by God's word
  469. 30:11and submitted to the jurisdiction of the Lord,
  470. 30:14that doesn't inherently reclassify the subject matter.
  471. 30:16And I remember reading somewhere,
  472. 30:18I don't know what I read this,
  473. 30:19but I read something that says,
  474. 30:20that the earth is the Lord, and the fullness thereof,
  475. 30:22the world, and we who dwell therein.
  476. 30:25So my question would be,
  477. 30:26well, what exists beyond an outside of the scope
  478. 30:30of the sovereignty of our Lord and King?
  479. 30:33I would say nothing, nothing outside that scope.
  480. 30:36So your point about these resources being available,
  481. 30:39not only for individuals, but also for churches
  482. 30:42to utilize, for people to bring to their churches,
  483. 30:44to share with their fellow congregants
  484. 30:48that it is a point that is well taken.
  485. 30:50Would you share one more time on the websites for us
  486. 30:53that and the distinctions between what's available
  487. 30:56in each website for people to take advantage of individually
  488. 30:59or in larger groups, corporately, and even in churches?
  489. 31:03Absolutely.
  490. 31:04At AFAAction.net is where you're going to find the state-by-state ballot measure guide covering
  491. 31:10all 58 ballot measures across 24 states.
  492. 31:14That's AFAAction.net.
  493. 31:15Click on the blue and red banner at the top of the page.
  494. 31:19And then for your personalized voter guide, you're going to go to ivotarguide.com.
  495. 31:24ivotarguide.com.
  496. 31:26Type in your address and receive your personalized voter guide based on your ballot.
  497. 31:31Excellent.
  498. 31:32Is there anything else that I may not have yet that you want to make sure that the people know they have access to and that they could utilize
  499. 31:39So that we can be as informed as possible and so that we can vote wisely. I
  500. 31:46Don't believe so. I just want to say we have one week left. Well, we have less than one week left
  501. 31:52Yeah less than one week you have one ballot and as a citizen it is our stewardship
  502. 31:58It is our job to go out and vote to make our vote matter
  503. 32:03And you can do that by having informed, knowledgeable choices when you go into the ballot.
  504. 32:10And I do want to say you can print these out.
  505. 32:13You can print out your state's ballot measure guide.
  506. 32:15You can print out your personalized voter guide that you received from iVotarguide.com.
  507. 32:20And you can take that into the polling place with you.
  508. 32:24Many people don't know that.
  509. 32:25Yes, you can carry that with you.
  510. 32:27iVotarguide.com, AFAAction.net, those to the websites.
  511. 32:31The information is there for you to review to peruse to study to learn and print and carry with you into
  512. 32:39The bow into the voting booth you can carry it with you Heather. Thank you so much for joining me you tell Bo
  513. 32:44I said he better leave you alone tonight because you've helped us here on a Hamilton Corner

  526. 33:43acknowledged Almighty God to be the source of our values, our rights, our liberties, and
  527. 33:51therefore we are accountable to him.

  530. 34:08are available at AFR.net.
  531. 34:10Back to the Hamilton Corner on American Family Radio.
  532. 34:15Welcome back to the Hamilton Corner, Abraham Hamilton,
  533. 34:17the third here.
  534. 34:20Thank you again to Dr. Heather Heffner for coming on
  535. 34:22and sharing with us the various resources that are available.
  536. 34:25again, if you have this information and you're aware of it, please share it with those in your
  537. 34:30circle because there are so many who are not aware of it and they need to have access to
  538. 34:36the very resources that you are aware of.
  539. 34:37And if you weren't aware of it before hearing Dr. Hefner discuss it, well, you're welcome.
  540. 34:43And I say that on behalf of Heather.
  541. 34:46Well, some of you may recall back in August, I shared with you some footage and commentary
  542. 34:53from the investigative journalistic report provided by James O'Keefe.
  543. 34:59He traveled to Minnesota, including Hennepin County, Minnesota,
  544. 35:04and he exposed for many of us who do not live in Minnesota,
  545. 35:09for the first time, the state voting system that they call their voting,
  546. 35:15their vouching voting system.
  547. 35:18in the vouching voting system, it allows for one registered voter, okay, one registered voter,
  548. 35:27whose name is listed as a registered voter, to appear at a voting precinct, and to vouch
  549. 35:35for up to eight other voters who are not registered, okay, not registered.
  550. 35:46None of this requires any identification, not from the voucher, the one person who would
  551. 35:52do the vouching, nor from the eight additional people.
  552. 35:58The voucher only has to have their name listed in the Registrar of Voters for the particular
  553. 36:05county, and the voucher then says by literally their word that these other eight people are
  554. 36:13are also voters who live and should vote in this precinct.
  555. 36:19In the video that I shared,
  556. 36:20James O'Keefe served as the person
  557. 36:22who was the registered voter,
  558. 36:25and he said, well, he asked how many people
  559. 36:27can not vouch for?
  560. 36:29They say up to eight other people.
  561. 36:33America First Legal discovered that nearly 20,000 people
  562. 36:38voted most recently,
  563. 36:41Most of the most recently voted in 22, 24 elections via the same vouching system.
  564. 36:46Additionally, pursuant to Minnesota State Law, as I described to you during the first
  565. 36:50segment, if there's a person who is an employee at a residential facility, that employee does
  566. 36:56not have to be a registered voter.
  567. 36:59They only have to be employed by the residential facility.
  568. 37:01And that employee can vouch for an unlimited number of people.
  569. 37:08The law has been on the books in Minnesota for over for 50 years, 50 years.
  570. 37:14Now I'm sure you can imagine when the law was passed 50 years ago, you know, prior to
  571. 37:20the transformation of the Twin Cities areas into, you know, little Mogadishu, you know,
  572. 37:27how you could see how and why some people might do that.
  573. 37:29Well, you know, people know their neighbors, et cetera, et cetera, because I want to be
  574. 37:32specific with the law allows for the law allows for the voucher and the vouchees to
  575. 37:38cast their ballots, but according to the state law, in order for the ballots to quote unquote,
  576. 37:45be counted for a certified electoral purposes, then the voters would then have to demonstrate
  577. 37:51that they are in fact registered voters, et cetera, et cetera.
  578. 37:54Now how often do you think, once the ballots are cast, that the people are going back to
  579. 38:01say, now wait a minute now, we have this percentage of votes that have been presented via the vouching
  580. 38:05system before we include them in the certified election results we need to go back and determine
  581. 38:11and conclude and affirm that these are in fact people who are eligible to vote in the
  582. 38:15election. How often do you think that happens? I don't know if you think that happens. So
  583. 38:20what James O'Keefe did and when I shared this on this show the majority of you could
  584. 38:25not believe it. He said what? Surely it ain't this isn't real. And honestly what I first
  585. 38:31thought I didn't think it was real. That's why I had to go and do my own research and
  586. 38:34defined and all this is in fact real
  587. 38:37the state of minnesota
  588. 38:38as a vouching system
  589. 38:40to a nobody has produced ideas in fact one of the poll workers told james o
  590. 38:44keef
  591. 38:45that for the people you're vouching for you are there i d
  592. 38:50you are the idea
  593. 38:52you are there i d no need for them
  594. 38:54to show voter i do you are there i d
  595. 38:59uh... many of you were as i was shocked to learn that that was an actual it
  596. 39:05system that was in play in existence right now. But it is. Well, this the state of Minnesota
  597. 39:13and in particular, head up in County, Minnesota, where James O'Kee field filmed his videos.
  598. 39:20Frankly, I would argue they were embarrassed. They were embarrassed by it. But instead of
  599. 39:27saying that we are going to make adjustments, we're going to amend our state election laws
  600. 39:32to provide for the security that people in our country are clamoring for do they do that oh no
  601. 39:38oh no the the hinepin county attorney held a press conference yesterday during which she
  602. 39:48now i'm saying she now when i show you this video i want you to watch it now
  603. 39:54she mary moire already announced that no no they're they're not changing their in amending and
  604. 40:00correcting their voting system, you know, closing loopholes, making it harder for people
  605. 40:06to cheat. No, no, no, they are charging James O'Keefe and his associate Cameron Higbee with
  606. 40:14felony charges for exposing the insanity of Minnesota's vouching system. Listen to and
  607. 40:21watch clip number one, clip one. Go.
  608. 40:24I need to start it over.
  609. 40:30To cast doubt on the state's vouching system by posting videos of themselves on social
  610. 40:36media.
  611. 40:37We were alerted to this conduct by the Minnesota Secretary of State's office.
  612. 40:43This conduct has been the subject of investigation and review.
  613. 40:47That review is now complete.
  614. 40:50Today we are charging two individuals, James O'Keefe and Cameron Higby with felony counts
  615. 40:57of unlawful voting and identity theft.
  616. 41:02You heard it.
  617. 41:04Two felony counts of unlawful voting and identity theft.
  618. 41:12Now of course you guys know I went to dig to find the charges and the charges read count
  619. 41:17one in the charging instrument count one identity theft and this is the description below count
  620. 41:22one.
  621. 41:23was knowingly misrepresenting his identity
  622. 41:26in applying for a voting ballot.
  623. 41:28Count two on law for voting.
  624. 41:31Knowingly misrepresented his identity
  625. 41:33in applying for a voting ballot.
  626. 41:36It's the exact same phrase, the exact same verbiage.
  627. 41:39Well as you might imagine,
  628. 41:41during the press conference,
  629. 41:43there were reporters in the audience
  630. 41:46who said, no wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait,
  631. 41:48because we all saw the videos,
  632. 41:50In videos we saw James O'Keefe
  633. 41:55Before casting any ballots, he didn't take anything, he didn't actually vote
  634. 41:59So are you suggesting that James O'Keefe during his
  635. 42:03investigative
  636. 42:05journalistic operation that he actually intended to cast a ballot?
  637. 42:10To which the county attorney had to literally say well no
  638. 42:15The county attorney literally says no we didn't we don't believe that James O'Keefe intended to actually cast a ballot
  639. 42:23and Cameron Higgin being tensiony, intended to cast a ballot?
  640. 42:28Well, are you just admitting that the second count is now completely nullified?
  641. 42:38Because you said he had no intention to cast a ballot, yet you charged him with unlawful voting.
  642. 42:47And then, you know, the state statutes across the country vary,
  643. 42:52but as a former prosecutor, I've prosecuted identity theft cases.
  644. 42:56Identity theft usually is accompanied by some substantive pursuit
  645. 43:01in which a person affirmatively not only represents himself as somebody else,
  646. 43:05but follows that up with some substantive action.
  647. 43:09You know, somebody steals your identity because they want to use your skimmed credit card number.
  648. 43:15Somebody assumes your identity because they want to commit fraud in some other way.
  649. 43:20This is clearly an effort for journalistic pursuit.
  650. 43:25The reality here, folks, right, stealing.
  651. 43:29You know, you misrepresent somebody's identity to forge a financial instrument.
  652. 43:35Clearly, James O'Keece's purpose was to disclose and to reveal to the American public
  653. 43:41the voting system and what a force it is in Minnesota.
  654. 43:47And the reality is that the Minnesota government, the regressives in Minnesota government
  655. 43:52were embarrassed.
  656. 43:55This is a prosecution of retribution.
  657. 43:58This is a prosecution of retaliation.
  658. 44:00This is a prosecution to say, how dare you expose our system
  659. 44:05where it's easy to cheat and we like it that way.
  660. 44:08We have no intention to change it.
  661. 44:09No, in fact, we're going to prosecute you for daring expose us
  662. 44:14for what it is we're trying to accomplish.
  663. 44:18Guys, this is insane.
  664. 44:19It reminds me of Isaiah 49, you know,
  665. 44:25that he who seeks to abide by righteousness and truth
  666. 44:28makes themselves a prey.
  667. 44:29And hold it now, Hennepin County attorney, Mary Mariarde, so you're saying that you want
  668. 44:44to prosecute James O'Keefe because he's cheating on law for voting.
  669. 44:47But I thought the regressive said that don't happen.
  670. 44:50Didn't Leslie Stahl say we don't really have people?
  671. 44:55That's illegal.
  672. 44:56But didn't Leslie Stahl say that?
  673. 44:58Did I just make that up, Mr. Rosa?
  674. 45:00Why are you crying?
  675. 45:01Why are you crying Leslie?
  676. 45:03Why are you crying, Meri Moriarty?
  677. 45:06He is not my fault that you have a vouching sister.
  678. 45:09Guys, this is insane.
  679. 45:11This is insane.
  680. 45:12Let's just all say it's so rare, we don't even really need to have investigations.
  681. 45:25You know why this is happening guys?
  682. 45:27For the reasons that Senator Elizabeth Stockton said to you, Monday, we need to prosecute,
  683. 45:33What did she say?
  684. 45:35Signature cases.
  685. 45:38Signature cases that would cause anybody who doesn't share their belief system in their
  686. 45:47worldview to think twice before engaging publicly in a perspective that diverges from their own.
  687. 45:58That is what this is about.
  688. 46:00This is the regressive Hennepin County Attorney's Office trying to use their resources.
  689. 46:05I mean, come on, the things that are happening in Minnesota, this is what you want to spend
  690. 46:10prosecutorial resources on.
  691. 46:14This is it.
  692. 46:16This is what you want to use the resources and the state taxpayer money to investigate.
  693. 46:21And what kind of investigation do you have to do?
  694. 46:26Not to be fair, James O'Keefe did use a registered voters name.
  695. 46:32All right.
  696. 46:34Voter roles are readily accessible.
  697. 46:38Why do you think?
  698. 46:39How do you think you all have been getting all these phone calls and text messages from
  699. 46:43people saying, oh, you're going to vote?
  700. 46:45Who you going to vote for?
  701. 46:46You have this person running, this person running.
  702. 46:48What do you think that information came from guys?
  703. 46:51Because county electoral offices share that information all the time.
  704. 46:58They redact identify information and they share it all the time.
  705. 47:05That's why your phone is going to light up with text messages because you voted.
  706. 47:11You've been an active voter?
  707. 47:13That's how it happens.
  708. 47:15And more than likely, I don't know if this is what James O'Keefe did, but more than likely
  709. 47:19I think he did the exact same thing that political parties and pollsters do to get information from
  710. 47:24prospective voters to conduct their polls and for candidates to try to make their appeals
  711. 47:28to people.
  712. 47:30He more than likely did the exact same thing, which is how he found a name in Hennepin County
  713. 47:34and he used that as a basis to find out whether or not to test the theory as to whether or not
  714. 47:39this whole vouching thing is a real thing.
  715. 47:45The real issue is that the regressives in Minnesota state government are angry and they want to
  716. 47:50try to make an example out of James O'Keefe and Cam Higbee as one of the slotkin described
  717. 47:56signature cases.
  718. 47:58That's what this is about, plain and simple.
  719. 48:03And if that wasn't enough for you, like I mentioned in Alaska, the whole Dan Sullivan
  720. 48:09thing, it's the New York Times that broke the story.
  721. 48:14You had, what did I tell your name was, Elisa Rios,
  722. 48:17Patola's former campaign manager is one of the witnesses
  723. 48:21who provided cogent evidence to show
  724. 48:24that this is a part of a Democrat party scheme
  725. 48:27to siphon votes away from the incumbent Dan S. Sullivan.
  726. 48:30Well, President Trump is now weighing in saying that
  727. 48:33this needs to be investigated.
  728. 48:35The governor of Alaska just announced today
  729. 48:39that he's issued in order to probe
  730. 48:43Patola Senate campaign for potential
  731. 48:47election violations and criminal activity
  732. 48:52in the recruitment of Dan J Sullivan
  733. 48:56to add his name to the ballot.
  734. 48:58Guys, this is some slimy sleazy stuff.
  735. 49:03But I'm gonna end the show the way I begin it.
  736. 49:05I started the program that a false balance
  737. 49:07is an abomination to the Lord.
  738. 49:09Before you conclude, not consider, before you conclude that schemers are scheming and
  739. 49:15getting away with it, I want to remind you that nobody gets away with the schemes ultimately.
  740. 49:21And God is taking note of those who are advocates for the schemes of the false balance.
  741. 49:31Take heart, pray, do your homework, get to the polls.
  742. 49:36Y'all have a great evening.
