12. 0:35Welcome to the Hamilton Corner here on American Family Radio.
13. 0:39I am your host, Abraham Hamilton the third,
14. 0:42joined by the corner contingent right across from me,
15. 0:45my man, 100 grand, Mr. Bobby,
16. 0:47and in the screening room, our friendly neighborhood,
17. 0:53Woodaholic, is aiding us with the video component
18. 0:57of the program and we are joined by the wonderful, the elegant, the pristine and esteemed Kennedy
19. 1:04Green.
20. 1:06And we're ready to rock and roll with today's edition of the program at this very moment.
21. 1:10Many of you, if not most of you are making your transition from your part time jobs where
22. 1:16you generate an income to your full time jobs where you cultivate an outcome.
23. 1:20And as you do so, I want to remind you to do so with intentionality, understanding the primacy
24. 1:26that God places on family and welcoming that primacy to govern, to guard, and to guide your
25. 1:33engagement in your everyday life, recognizing that even as we are, and I hope that you are
26. 1:38as I am, still reflecting on the marble and the wonder that it is that God has allowed our
27. 1:43nation to persist for this long, 250 years since the signing of our Declaration of Independence,
28. 1:50The longest enduring constitutional republic in world history without a change of government,
29. 1:58it is amazing to behold what is happening.
30. 2:01But I want to remind you that what goes on in your house is more important than what goes
31. 2:05on in the White House.
32. 2:07Even when we have a 45 minute fireworks display, you know, starting off on the fourth carrying
33. 2:15over into the fifth, we need to understand that the freedom that God has afforded us,
34. 2:22us, man. He's afforded us that freedom with an expectation of how that freedom would be
35. 2:27utilized, especially by the church that he's planted in our country. And it's vitally, vitally
36. 2:34important that we are members of the Lord's eternal family, that we are like the sons of
37. 2:42His Sakhar. And that we understand the times that we're living in and what God requires of
38. 2:47us at this moment. It's vitally important that we reflect and, yes, celebrate what God
39. 2:55has done and also take honest and objective assessment as to where we are. We're going
40. 3:01to try to do that today. There are lots of things happening. You have the preliminary hearing
41. 3:06in the Charlie Kirk's Assassin's Trial, alleged Assassin's Trial, which I have so much to say
42. 3:12about that. I haven't had yet had the opportunity to weigh in on some of these massive Supreme
43. 3:18Court decisions that were announced last week. We'll do that, the wood willing as the week
44. 3:22unfolds, but it's important today that we begin this week by reflecting on some aspects of our
45. 3:34nation's history, even concerning our declaration of independence that doesn't often get discussed.
46. 3:44So to the word of God we go on, we begin in God's Holy Word, Romans 13 verse 7, there's
47. 3:49a principle there that will govern this segment of the program and that will aid us in navigating
48. 3:56the remainder of the program as well.
49. 4:00Romans 13 verse 7 in particular says this, and this is in the midst of the Apostle Paul's
50. 4:08treatise on government being God's institution because it is.
51. 4:12one of the human institutions that God has established for the purposes of ordered liberty
52. 4:18and maximized human flourishing.
53. 4:21It is what the Lord articulates after in chapters 11 and 12, discouraging the individuals from
54. 4:28being a vinjors of wrong when the Lord says, vengeance is mine, say is the Lord.
55. 4:35And then he goes on to explain that his temporal instrument of exercising judgment on this side
56. 4:42of eternity is government, in which he finally says, this institution does not bear the sword
57. 4:48in vain.
58. 4:49You know, in the first century, they weren't using swords, you know, to floss.
59. 4:56They didn't use swords, you know, as a sharper pool stick, it's a pool cue, you know.
60. 5:01The sword was used as an instrument of judgment, a temporal instrument of judgment against the
61. 5:06wrong door.
62. 5:07And the Lord says that the governmental institution does not bear it in vain, meaning that it has
63. 5:12it and it uses it as an instrument of God's expression.
64. 5:18But in verse 7 and chapter 13, the scripture says this, render to all what is due them,
65. 5:27to whom taxes do, custom to whom custom, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor. It is a
66. 5:38biblical principle to give honor to whom honor is due. One of the major keys to doing this
67. 5:49in a biblical manner, and this is how we fortify ourselves against falling into ditches on either
68. 5:56side here on one side you have people have a penchant for revisionist history because they
69. 6:01seek a particular social and even oftentimes political outcome they'll flat out lie about
70. 6:06what has happened in our nation for example they'll lie by affirmative misrepresentation
71. 6:11or they'll lie by calculated and intentional omissions from history.
72. 6:18One of the ones I pointed out recently I've been discussing is Ben Franklin's call for
73. 6:23the constitutional Congress to pray.
74. 6:25You know, most Americans have no clue about that.
75. 6:30They have no clue.
76. 6:32You know, that's an example of lying by omitting salient truth, pertinent factual information.
77. 6:39But then you have the other side.
78. 6:41Some who seek to, you know, protect perceptions and things of that nature have a tendency to
79. 6:47deify people.
80. 6:48And the way that you avoid that is that you and I bask in the amazing wonder of what God
81. 6:55has done through certain people.
82. 6:59In fact, what God has accomplished in spite of man's sin-fallenness.
83. 7:06One of the things I've just been reflecting on in my own time and I recommend a book I've
84. 7:09had for two decades now, it's produced by wall builders, it's called Lives of the Signers
85. 7:16of the Declaration of Independence.
86. 7:17And there's an all attended book, Lives of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence.
87. 7:22and they have a new book that's available now titled,
88. 7:26The Lies, Fortune, and the Sacred Honor.
89. 7:31I am going to read the names of the 56 signers
90. 7:35of the Declaration of Independence,
91. 7:38because this charter, if you will,
92. 7:40which as you've heard me say before,
93. 7:41the vision statement for our nation,
94. 7:46this is when this is what we sought to establish
95. 7:50when we told King George, it's not you, it's me.
96. 7:57No, actually they say, no, it is you.
97. 7:58It ain't me.
98. 8:00They say it is you.
99. 8:01Oh, King, we have the part ways.
100. 8:05They said, and this is where we're going.
101. 8:07See, King George, you are not conducive to these ends being
102. 8:13executed and achieved.
103. 8:14Therefore, we must part ways and forge our own path.
104. 8:18But this is where we're going.
105. 8:19This is why I've said one of the great travesties of modern
106. 8:21American jurisprudence.
107. 8:22When I say modern, I'm dating back to the 1940s going forward.
108. 8:261930s actually going forward was the effort to interpret the US Constitution apart from
109. 8:32the Declaration of Independence, which is, in my estimation, constitutional malpractice, because
110. 8:42the Constitution exists to implement the vision of the Declaration.
111. 8:50I've talked at length about how Woodrow Wilson and the Regressives sought to sever our national
112. 8:56identity from the Declaration of Independence. But many of us know the names of some of the
113. 9:03more popular features in our national history, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Samuel Adams.
114. 9:12But we don't know some of the other names. And I just want to take a few moments to introduce
115. 9:19this to you and also to give you some homework. Because I'm not going to do all the work for
116. 9:23you today. I'll do some of it. Maybe we'll do some more later on. But as you hear these
117. 9:28names and as the names come to your ears and many of them you're going to say, hmm,
118. 9:33I didn't know that guy was involved. I've never heard that name before. I want you to do a little
119. 9:37digging about them. I gave you a couple resources to start from New Hampshire, the 56 total signers
120. 9:45of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. From New Hampshire, signers include Josiah Bartlett,
121. 9:53you know him, William Whipple, Matthew Thornton. And I'm telling you why, I want to tell you why
122. 9:59I'm reading this because honor, giving honor to whom honor is due, is a biblical principle.
123. 10:08And I want to direct your attention to marvel at what God has done through these men.
124. 10:15And I'm going to explain a little bit more what I'm talking about as we go through.
125. 10:19From Massachusetts, John Hancock, we know him, the large swooping signature, where we get the
126. 10:23artist's social colloquialism from.

128. 10:28Well, that came from.
129. 10:30a real man from Massachusetts named John Hancock, who by the way, when they conclude the declaration
130. 10:36by saying, we mutually pledge our lives, our fortunes, our sacred honor, guys, that was not
131. 10:43a hyperbolic poetic statement. That was a literal expression and articulation as to what
132. 10:49was happening at that time. And I'm going to explain that a little bit more as I finish
133. 10:53these names back to Massachusetts after John Hancock, John Adams, Samuel Adams, Robert
134. 11:00treat pain from Rhode Island, Elbridge Jerry, Stephen Hopkins, William Ellery, from Connecticut,
135. 11:11Roger Sherman, Samuel Huntington, William Williams, Oliver Walcott. Do you know him?
136. 11:19Last time you had a time discussing, oh, Oliver Walcott, his contributions to the
137. 11:25founding era. From New York, William Floyd, Philip Livingston, Francis Lewis, and Lewis
138. 11:33Morris. From New Jersey, Richard Stockton, John Witherspoon, Francis Hopkinson, John
139. 11:41Hart, and Abraham Clark. From Pennsylvania, Robert Morris, Benjamin Rush, Benjamin
140. 11:49Franklin John Morton George climber James Smith George Taylor James Wilson

147. 12:51Hayward, Thomas Hayward Jr., I'm sorry, Thomas Lynch Jr., and Arthur Middleton, and from Georgia,
148. 12:59Button Gwynette, Lyman Hall, and George Walton.
149. 13:03Now I read the names of these people because when they said when the conclusion, at the conclusion
150. 13:10of the Declaration, when they say we mutually pledge our lives, our fortune and our sacred
151. 13:14honor. Much has been discussed, many of us realize that that was a literal statement,
152. 13:19that by signing their names to this document, it was as if they were signing their own death
153. 13:23warrant. And this is the document that is the founding creed for our nation and the core
154. 13:29of the Declaration, as we've discussed numerous times here on this program, that we hold
155. 13:35these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal endowed by our Creator
156. 13:42with certain unalienable rights, that among them are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
157. 13:50That's the crux of the Declaration and it goes on to explain to secure these rights to the individual
158. 13:57is the reason for which governments are instituted among men. What many of us don't realize that
159. 14:03And all of these guys, they were actually fairing quite well under King George's system.
160. 14:10So when they signed their name to this death warrant, they're literally signing up to have
161. 14:13their own personal fortunes decimated, which happened repeatedly.
162. 14:18Many of them died, broke, died penniless.
163. 14:23Many of them, one of the founders agreed to fire upon his own home because George Cornwallis
164. 14:29had taken it, was using it as a staging post for the Redcoats.
165. 14:32of the founders, one of the signers of that declaration,
166. 14:35funded out of his own pocket the entire participation
167. 14:39of the French army to support us,
168. 14:41to the tune of $2 million at that time.
169. 14:44Imagine how much that would be today,
170. 14:46and never wanted to get a penny of it back.
171. 14:47What I'm saying is that these are men
172. 14:50who are worthy of honor, these are men
173. 14:52who risk their own lives literally,
174. 14:54so that you and I could breed the freedom air
175. 14:56that we breed today.

189. 15:46these are the types of things that we used to
190. 15:48teach in our country but they've been lost on
191. 15:53when you understand the reality of human nature very rarely we have people who are
192. 15:57you know
193. 15:58pretty living pretty
194. 16:00lives that are willing to say, you know what, I'm gonna sign up to join a cause that probably
195. 16:08will result in my discomfort.
196. 16:17And once again, when I told you about lying by omission, I think there's a reason why we
197. 16:22no longer have a ready ability to call to remembrance people like George Walcott, you
198. 16:28You know, you know, who are these guys, who are these people?
199. 16:32You know, there's one founder, and again, I'm not telling you this
200. 16:35because I want you to do your own digging on this regard.
201. 16:37I now help, of course, eventually.
202. 16:38But there's one soon after signing the Declaration of Independence,
203. 16:43he and his wife had to go on the run because this was considered an act of treason
204. 16:48against the British Crown, which was a capital defense death, was necessary immediately.
205. 16:54And let's just cut right to it.
206. 16:56Westnose says thing as an appellate process to stave off the implementation of the execution.
207. 17:02There's one he and his wife on the run from the British end up getting into a ship and nobody
208. 17:07ever heard from him again. Never heard from him again. Another couple that, soon after signing up,
209. 17:14they began to fight in the revolutionary cause and literally moved the first five months at a minimum
210. 17:21once a month because they're on the run for their lives literally. You know, that's worthy of glorifying
211. 17:29God for these people who are willing to sacrifice themselves in this fashion.
212. 17:34And they were identifying this is where we are going in our nation,
213. 17:37and articulated in our declaration.
214. 17:40Now that is the absolute truth.
215. 17:46There are things that we must recognize as well that are happening currently in our nation.
216. 17:53And very often when people think about the judgment of God, we think solely about cataclysmic
217. 17:58exercises or instances of that judgment, like the global flood or Sodom and Gomorrah, where
218. 18:05those were cataclysmic judgments. But the Scripture gives us understanding that God also gives warning
219. 18:11judgments. And I'm going to say it, make a statement right now that may be a bit provocative
220. 18:21to some manner or another. But I believe the Lord has afforded us some warnings to date.
221. 18:32But because our nation and more particularly the church and our nation has been hollowed
222. 18:37out to such a degree, our discernment has been so blunted that as it has resulted in the almost
223. 18:45necessary conclusion that because of that blunted discernment, we don't understand what
224. 18:52the Lord may be attempting to show us.
225. 18:56So let me try to explain what I'm talking about.
226. 19:01Here is a reality.
227. 19:02We have things happening like the genocide of Christians in Nigeria, at the hands of Islamic
228. 19:08terrorists through the combination of Boko Haram adherents and Fulani herdsmen, for some
229. 19:14of you might say, well, you repeat yourself, you know, because you have the Fulani contingent
230. 19:20that are allied with the government and basically the Fulani are allowing Boko Haram to operate
231. 19:25near impunity in Nigeria.
232. 19:28lying to the public and lying to the world and saying, hey, there's no genocide happening,
233. 19:32but you guys know because I've been reporting on it here that it is happening. It's happening
234. 19:38so much so. And even our own president took note of it and started making some statements
235. 19:42about it and things of that nature. And we can clearly identify that often as an exercise
236. 19:48of demonic activity because you literally have an effort to slaughter the Christian witness
237. 19:53in Nigeria to eliminate Christians from the face of the globe. And Boko Haram has stated
238. 19:58that they are seeking to establish a caliphate with Africa
239. 20:01at his hub, a re-institution of the Ottoman Empire,
240. 20:05just as you had ISIS operating in the Middle East years ago,
241. 20:09when one B. Hussein said, oh, that's just a J.B. team.
242. 20:13Gee, I wonder why he said that.
243. 20:18Oh, boy.
244. 20:19The same thing is happening right now.
245. 20:22But I think in the efforts of Bukhuram and the Philania
246. 20:26and Igeri are to eliminate the Christian witness,
247. 20:30to annihilate the Christians currently who exist there in the country and to have a chilling
248. 20:34effect to cause others in Nigeria to be afraid and reluctant to come to faith in Christ Jesus.
249. 20:43Well there's a similar attack that's happening in our own country but because of a lack of
250. 20:48discernment I don't think we recognize it.
251. 20:50Now it's not the same as the overt physical persecution that our brethren in Nigeria are
252. 20:57experiencing, but it's an attack that is similarly insidious in the objective is the same, to eliminate
253. 21:03the Christian witness in our country and to cause a downstream chilling effect to where
254. 21:10people are unwilling to come to faith in Christ or even declare the name of Jesus publicly,
255. 21:16to push the Christian witness to the margins of our society and to ultimately have little to no
256. 21:24impact. If you want a visual of just just envision the cathedrals in in Europe that used to house
257. 21:32robust churches that now are museums or or like the Hagia Sophia Cathedral, which was once a beacon
258. 21:40of Christian witness in Turkey, but it's now how home to a mosque. What am I talking about?
259. 21:49Let's look through the scriptures because this is not really my opinion. The scripture gives us
260. 21:53guidance and I want to this is what I want to do for today's program in hopes that the
261. 21:59blinders will be removed from our eyes and that we can see when Ben Franklin is asked upon
262. 22:06his exit from Independence Hall following the affairs are transpired there.
263. 22:14It was Pennsylvania Statehouse and it's Independence Hall now.
264. 22:17They said, what have you wrought, Obendement?
265. 22:20And he says a republic if you can keep it.
266. 22:22And John Adams said that if we, the United States of America, have a public face of nobility
267. 22:29and piety and kindness and goodness, but inwardly we are ravenously ungodly, that our nation
268. 22:41will become a most miserable habitation.
269. 22:42This is what he said.
270. 22:43Then he went on to say because our constitution in form of government here is only for holy
271. 22:50religious and moral people.
272. 22:51I mean only for religious moral people, it is wholly inadequate for the governance of any
273. 22:56other.
274. 22:57These are the types of things that John Adams was talking about because the indisputable,
275. 23:05the indisputable reality is that the fulcrum of the ethos of freedom that is pinned in our
276. 23:12declaration is a humble reverence for nature's God.
277. 23:23And because we have subsequent generations of a dearth of disciple-making in our country,
278. 23:27that a chasm has been created.
279. 23:30And you guys have heard me say darkness is not an affirmative force, but it does reoccupy
280. 23:35the space that's vacated by the light.
281. 23:37And so as the robust witness of the Christian disciple has receded in our country, it's
282. 23:43corresponded with foreign ideologies ascending to the surface.
283. 23:47At this very moment we have a cascading amount of self-described socialists being supported
284. 23:51and elected around our country.
285. 23:53You see this kind of, this red, green alliance
286. 23:56to where Islamists are working with Marxists
287. 24:01and the Democrat party and how do we navigate that space,
288. 24:05not recognizing that the disciples of Moses,
289. 24:09Mordecai, and Marx, Levy, support anything
290. 24:12that will destabilize and overthrow the existing
291. 24:15quote unquote, hedge money as the critical theorists would say.
292. 24:17So anything that will loosen the grip
293. 24:20of the Protestant Christian ethos that undergirds this nation,
294. 24:25that this nation was founded upon,
295. 24:28the Marxists are all for it.
296. 24:29They'll grow with it even if they disagree with Islam
297. 24:32because it's effective in aiding them
298. 24:34and destabilizing the existing hegemony.
299. 24:36And then Islam is also all with it
300. 24:38because even if there are people who don't agree with Islam,
301. 24:41if they will help advance the cause of Islam,
302. 24:43then they'll roll with them for a while.
303. 24:45I mean, this is the story of the Islamic Revolution in Iran
304. 24:48because you had revolutionary agitator marches from Russia
305. 24:53who infiltrated
306. 24:55iran because of the as the bill federer share right here on the show
307. 24:58you realize that the catalax of ill used to be manufactured in iran
308. 25:05but using class divisions and have and have not in using the right diagnosis of
309. 25:09corruption under the show of iran
310. 25:12the diagnosis was right
311. 25:14but applied curious wrong
312. 25:16the show had problems therefore we must overthrow him and we pushed towards
313. 25:22a Marxist direction.
314. 25:24And so the Marxists utilizing really college-age students
315. 25:27primarily in Iran because reality is a passionate and committed
316. 25:33minority will always overwhelm a disinterested and lethargic
317. 25:35majority.
318. 25:38They lock arms with the terrorist sycophants,
319. 25:42the 12er sycophants in Iran.
320. 25:47And they work together to overthrow the Shah
321. 25:49and then guess what happens after that?
322. 25:50Anybody don't know what happens next?
323. 25:54the 12 verse then murder all of the Marxists.
324. 25:58Go on do your historical study.
325. 26:00And from that period on,
326. 26:02now you have the Islamic Republic of Iran,
327. 26:07which is all islamic, not too much of the Republic.
328. 26:13Now getting to this, let me try to move a little faster.
329. 26:17I'm gonna start this portion of the show
330. 26:19in Deuteronomy eight.
331. 26:20I've referred to this before,
332. 26:21but I want you to see this
333. 26:22because God was warning his people through Moses
334. 26:25in Deuteronomy 8, preparing the second generation
335. 26:28of wilderness Israelites for the Promised Land.
336. 26:31Along with all of the other admonitions,
337. 26:33the Lord said this through Moses.
338. 26:37And this is where I'm saying that we,
339. 26:40our ears must perk up, our ears must perk up,
340. 26:44our eyes must perk up, most importantly our hearts
341. 26:47must perk up to see what God is showing us.
342. 26:50And the Lord said through Moses to the second generation
343. 26:51of wilderness Israelites,
344. 26:52is your life preparing them for life in the Promised Land.
345. 26:55He said, when you have eaten, verse 10,
346. 26:57Deuteronomy 8, verse 10,
347. 26:58when you have eaten and are satisfied,
348. 27:00you shall bless the Lord your God,
349. 27:02for the good land which he has given you.
350. 27:05Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God
351. 27:08by not keeping his commandments
352. 27:11and his ordinances and his statutes
353. 27:13which I am commanding you today.
354. 27:16Otherwise, when you have eaten and are satisfied
355. 27:19and have built good houses and lived in them,
356. 27:21and when your herds and your flocks multiply,
357. 27:24your silver and gold multiply,
358. 27:26and all that you have multiplies,
359. 27:28then your heart will become proud
360. 27:31and you will forget the Lord your God
361. 27:34who brought you out from the land of Egypt
362. 27:38out of the house of slavery.
363. 27:40What God was warning the Israelites about
364. 27:43is that while being an enslaved people
365. 27:46under Egyptian subjection has temptations of its own,
366. 27:49while being a wandering people in the wilderness
367. 27:52has temptations of its own,
368. 27:54The Lord was warning that there are also temptations that arise when you enjoy material prosperity
369. 28:03and wealth.
370. 28:05He's not saying material prosperity, what they're bad.
371. 28:07They are not bad.
372. 28:10They're not problematic inherently.
373. 28:12But the Lord is warning them.
374. 28:15You guys are familiar with it's like being a slave people.
375. 28:18You know what it's like being in the wilderness.
376. 28:19You have not yet experienced what it's like to enjoy untold prosperity.
377. 28:25I am warning you to be careful then as well because while you're on the other side, there's
378. 28:31a temptation toward despondency while you have the luxuries and the abundance there's a temptation
379. 28:37to become practical atheistic agnostics. We won't declare ourselves be atheist agnostics,
380. 28:44but our lifestyles will declare, we don't need the Lord. Look at all we have. At this stage,
381. 28:52it was a warning. Well, unsurprisingly, fast forward, turn to the book of Isaiah chapter 2,
382. 29:04by way of reminder, Isaiah lived from about 767 to 681 BC. Isaiah's life and ministry culminates
383. 29:14about 76 years before Nebuchadnezzar shows up from Babylon. You read chapter 1, it will get there
384. 29:23in a moment Isaiah ministered largely to the southern kingdom of Judah and was now the warnings
385. 29:32that were offered in Deuteronomy. Now, what those warnings have transformed into a form of indictment.
386. 29:38Look at Isaiah chapter two, verse is 78, very simply. And look what the Lord says to the
387. 29:47prophet Isaiah, their land has been filled with silver and gold. He's talking to the kingdom of Judah.
388. 29:56Their land has been filled with silver and gold. There is no end to their treasures.
389. 30:03The land has also been filled with horses and there is no end to their chariots.
390. 30:09Their land has also been filled with idols. They worship the work of their hands
391. 30:16that which their fingers have made. This indictment is coming in the at the time where
392. 30:24where Judah is not barren, Judah is not bereft.
393. 30:28The Lord is saying, listen,
394. 30:30the land is filled with silver, filled with gold.
395. 30:33I mean, the material wealth and prosperity
396. 30:35is abounding at the time of Isaiah's prophetic ministry.
397. 30:40The Lord is saying, there is no end to their treasures.
398. 30:43Then when it makes a reference to the land
399. 30:45that's filled with horses, horses were not native to Israel.
400. 30:49So to have horses in abundance there,
401. 30:51it had to be imported,
402. 30:54It's one of the things the Lord warned Israel and their kings about don't go back to Egypt.
403. 30:58Don't accumulate for yourselves many horses.
404. 31:01And one of the major things I understand about horses is that that was an upgrade in transportation
405. 31:05over like camels and donkeys and things of that nature.
406. 31:08But the Lord is saying that the nation is replete.
407. 31:11It's an abundant supply.
408. 31:13And in addition to an abundant supply of this upgrade transportation capacity, they're also
409. 31:19abundantly supplied with chariots.
410. 31:23as described before, this is a military innovation,
411. 31:26having a superiority in warfighting capacities.
412. 31:31Wonder where I heard that before.
413. 31:35But while you have this material wealth,
414. 31:37this material abundance, you have this transportation luxury
415. 31:40and you have this military security and this military
416. 31:43innovation, it also serves as a backdrop for their land
417. 31:47to be filled with idols.
418. 31:54And I am saying to you that we as a nation have enjoyed
419. 31:59untold abundance in prosperity.
420. 32:04We're also a nation that is filled with idols.
421. 32:11We're gonna go further into this
422. 32:13because this is not gonna be an ambiguous presentation.
423. 32:15The scripture is very clear
424. 32:18on what's being communicated in our pray,
425. 32:21that the Lord helps us to see and recognize
426. 32:23that our most enduring need in our nation is repentance.
427. 32:30We have not been made the greatest nation of history of mankind.
428. 32:34Identigrating God, we have become the greatest nation on Earth because we are a nation that
429. 32:41acknowledged Almighty God to be the source of our values, our rights, our liberties,
430. 32:49and that therefore we are accountable to Him.

436. 33:18Man, I'll have a short amount of time.
437. 33:22Let me just move forward quite a bit.
438. 33:25In Isaiah chapter 1, the first six verses of the chapter, the Lord through Isaiah discusses
439. 33:33the fact that the nation is latent in sin, you know, it even goes on to say an oxen who is
440. 33:41its owner and a donkey, it's master's manger, but my people do not know, my people do not
441. 33:46understand. And it says, for example, verse 4, a last sinful nation, people weighed down
442. 33:57with the niquity offspring of evildoers, sons who act corruptly. They have abandoned
443. 34:02the Lord and they have despised the Holy One of Israel. They have turned away from him.
444. 34:08where will you be stricken again?
445. 34:10As you continue in your rebellion,
446. 34:12the whole head is sick and the whole heart is fanked.
447. 34:19Then it goes on where the Lord,
448. 34:21I mentioned one of the instances of cataclysmic judgment
449. 34:24from God with Sodom and Gomorrah.
450. 34:26Then the Lord goes on to address his own people
451. 34:30through to prophet Isaiah by referring to them
452. 34:32as Sodom and Gomorrah.
453. 34:34You wanna talk about a strong language of Jesus,
454. 34:36a strong language of rebuke.
455. 34:43The Lord says this, verse 10,
456. 34:45picking up in verse 10 because I gotta move.
457. 34:48Hear the word of the Lord, your rulers of Sodom.
458. 34:53Give ear to the instruction of our God,
459. 34:55you people of Gomorrah.
460. 34:58Now this is important because as the Lord is offering
461. 35:00this rebuke through Isaiah, he includes rightly so,
462. 35:05a rebuke for the leaders that are not leading the people
463. 35:08of God and righteousness, but it is not exclusively
464. 35:13the leaders, it's not exclusively the leaders.
465. 35:19He also includes the people by describing them
466. 35:21the people of Gamora. I made this point before when the Apostle Paul and his epistle to Timothy talked
467. 35:29about the prevalence of false teachers. He rebuked false teachers absolutely but then he also explained
468. 35:37why false teachers have such platforms. And then so doing he said it's because there are people
469. 35:44who have itching ears who want to hear what the false teachers have to say. To say it differently
470. 35:53if there weren't people who wanted to hear what the false teacher had to say the false teachers
471. 35:56which is wouldn't have the popular platforms that they would have.
472. 35:59The text goes on to say,
473. 36:02I'll reverse 10 again,
474. 36:03hear the word of the Lord, your rulers of Sodom.
475. 36:05Give ear to the instruction of our God, you people of Gomorrah.
476. 36:08Now what I want you to see, I'm going to continue reading
477. 36:11in verse 11 in a moment,
478. 36:12because the inclination could be that, well,
479. 36:15what this kind of sinfulness that the Bible is talking about,
480. 36:17that the Lord is condemning here,
481. 36:18surely there's an abandonment of any pretense of devotion to Yahweh,
482. 36:25which is not the case at all.
483. 36:27Look at what the Lord goes on to say.
484. 36:31Verse 11,
485. 36:33What are your multiplied sacrifices to me, says the Lord?
486. 36:36I've had enough of burnt offerings of rams
487. 36:39in the fat of fed cattle,
488. 36:41and I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls,
489. 36:44lambs, or goats.
490. 36:49When you come to appear before me,
491. 36:51who requires of you this trampling of my courts?
492. 36:55Bring your worthless offerings no longer.
493. 36:58Incent is an abomination to me.
494. 37:01New moon and Sabbath, the calling of assemblies,
495. 37:04I cannot endure iniquity and the solemn assembly.
496. 37:12I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts.
497. 37:16They have become a burden to me.
498. 37:19I am weary of bearing them.
499. 37:21Listen, what the Lord is saying is that
500. 37:23when all of this sinfulness is percolating,
501. 37:26the people are described as Sodom and Gomorrah,
502. 37:29a last old wicked nation who's sons who act corruptly.
503. 37:33You've abandoned the Lord.
504. 37:34All of this is happening while it's still having the,
505. 37:37you know, so-called church meetings.
506. 37:41They're still having the performative religious displays.
507. 37:46It looks a whole lot like we got a bunch of people
508. 37:49in the buckle of the Bible Belt in our country,
509. 37:51but the culture in Bible Belt area is more churchy
510. 37:54than it is Christian, that our preferences are worldly.
511. 38:02our priorities are worldly.
512. 38:05What I'm trying to help you to see is what the Lord first
513. 38:09warned of through Moses, then centuries later,
514. 38:12prior to Nebuchadnezzar ever showing up,
515. 38:15it looks a lot like our nation right now.
516. 38:18It's what I'm saying.
517. 38:20Right now we have the mega church phenomenon right now
518. 38:23in our nation, the most profitable business enterprise.
519. 38:26And we don't like to talk about this,
520. 38:27but the pornography industry makes more money
521. 38:30then the major league baseball, the national football league, and the National Basketball
522. 38:35Association combined.
523. 38:37Do you understand what I'm telling you?
524. 38:39That we're living in a time right now where you get to certain demographics where you
525. 38:49be hard-pressed to find a young man who's not struggling with pornography.
526. 38:53We're living in a time where upwards of 20% of pastors are struggling with pornography.
527. 38:59We talk a lot about the sanctity of human life, which we should talk about, but we'll
528. 39:03What we really don't really talk about honestly is that we really have an issue with the lust
529. 39:10of the flesh and we want to murder the consequences of our rebellion.
530. 39:18Do we confront that as rebellion?
531. 39:20No, we go on and say we're going to have a dispute about whether or not it is constitutionally
532. 39:25sanctioned.
533. 39:27You see what I'm, guys, we're living in a time right now, you have so-called pastors
534. 39:32who are saying because of their grievances in our nation that they need to restore whiteness
535. 39:43And at the exact same time you had people,
536. 39:44and I made this point before,
537. 39:46that you just had the instance with Carmelo Anthony
538. 39:48and who murdered this young man,
539. 39:50and all the evidence points to that,
540. 39:51but because of skin color,
541. 39:52you had people who said, well, my skin color is darker,
542. 39:54so I'm gonna stand with Carmelo Anthony.
543. 39:56In what, murder?
544. 39:59I'm not trying to provide an exhaustive list.
545. 40:01I'm trying to help us to see what's happening.
546. 40:04And because of the lack of a core,
547. 40:08a core anchoring in the Lord that will enable us
548. 40:10to be fortified against the spirit of the age,
549. 40:13the way we look for solutions and resolutions everywhere except looking at the man in the
550. 40:17mirror and seeing our need to repent.
551. 40:24In 2015, sorry, 2005, there's a professor who's a sociologist by the name of Christian Smith.
552. 40:33He coined the phrase and he said that this is the de facto religion in America.
553. 40:41He said this in 2005, published a book titled Soul Searching, The Religious and Spiritual
554. 40:45Eyes of Americans.
555. 40:51phrase he coined that he says is the default religion of all Americans, generally speaking,
556. 40:57obviously I know there's a remnant, right? I believe I'm a part of that remnant. But I'm
557. 41:01talking about the general majority experience. And he says, this is the fact that religion
558. 41:06in America for self-described Christians and non-Christians. He coined the phrase moralistic
559. 41:13therapeutic deism. It's moralistic therapeutic deism. I said that MTD moralistic therapeutic
560. 41:23Deism. It's a pseudo-religion that inhabits the institutions and language of traditional
561. 41:28faith but hollows it out from the inside. More or less the therapeutic Deism teaches that
562. 41:36God is a cosmic butler who wants nothing more than for us all to be happy, self-fulfilled
563. 41:43and nice to others. It's the perfect religion for materialistic consumerism and it offers
564. 41:52psychological and assurance and emotional validation without having to change, repent,
565. 41:58or to accommodate oneself to difficult teachings."
566. 42:04Chris Smith said this about moralistic therapeutic deism. He said it is, quote,
567. 42:07about attaining subjective well-being, being able to resolve problems in getting along with other people.
568. 42:16At best, M.T.D. is a pathetic version of Christianity.
569. 42:19At worst, Christianity is actively being colonized and displaced by quite a different religious faith.
570. 42:30Now I want you to know something.
571. 42:32When Christian Smith said that moralistic therapeutic deism is about attaining subjective well-being,
572. 42:41What's the touchstones of that subjectivity?
573. 42:43What is subjective?
574. 42:49Oh, it's what makes me feel good about me.
575. 42:53And he says, this is the default religion of America.
576. 42:57Oh no, no, repent.
577. 42:58Oh no, no, no, need for that.
578. 42:59I'm good just the way I am.
579. 43:00I'm perfect.
580. 43:01I'm whole.
581. 43:04I'm this.
582. 43:05Things have devolved to such a degree to where anything that would say something I don't
583. 43:07like on that's violence and I need to protect my peace.
584. 43:13And think about what has happened largely to the witness of the church in our country.
585. 43:17to become proponents of this moralistic therapeutic deism.
586. 43:21But we didn't need Christian Smith's phrase
587. 43:24to identify it, because the Lord already told us
588. 43:26through Moses and through Jeremiah and through Isaiah.
589. 43:34It's about subjective well-being.
590. 43:37That's why you have right now, you have a trend
591. 43:39with younger people, if they have a disagreement
592. 43:42with their parents in order to protect my peace
593. 43:44and my mental health, then I need to cut myself off
594. 43:46from my parents.
595. 43:48What?
596. 43:49So you're such an infant that you can't even handle
597. 43:52You all disagree about stuff you're passionate about?
598. 43:56Guys, that's the exact opposite of how the freedom is to be used.
599. 44:02So when you have subsequent generations of our fellow countrymen who have succumbed to this
600. 44:06moralistic, therapeutic deism, what's happened, what happens is a hollowing out of a core that
601. 44:12will allow you to stand against a prosperity that causes you to live as if you don't need
602. 44:18God anymore.
603. 44:22And you have young people wanted to, the major thrusts, young people want to live lives of meaning.
604. 44:27of life's meaning according to a self-subjective standard.
605. 44:32So when you experience things like,
606. 44:34well, I'm a young person, I'm a millennial,
607. 44:38and I'm not having the opportunity to buy a house
608. 44:40at the same life's phase that my parents were able to do so.
609. 44:44Well, now I'm mad.
610. 44:47So the problem, just like the 1979 Iran Revolution,
611. 44:51you can diagnose a problem properly.
612. 44:56Yes, economics have become kind of funny money
613. 44:58in this day and age.
614. 45:01But if you have an internal cord that is anchored
615. 45:03in the truth of God's word, it fortifies you
616. 45:05against being tossed and thrown into the course of deception.
617. 45:11So now you have a whole group of people
618. 45:13that will swallow whole hog that we need to trans children
619. 45:19or because they wanna say, we're all about equity.
620. 45:23And then out of have you align yourself with the jihadists
621. 45:26who as soon as they get finished
622. 45:30with overthrowing existing hedge money,
623. 45:32What do you think they're going to do?
624. 45:35Think about the cognitive dissonance to have the people who are advocates of distorting
625. 45:40God's bow and celebrate so-called pride along with the same people in their own countries
626. 45:46that are throwing those same folks off the top of buildings.
627. 45:48Think about that cognitive dissonance.
628. 45:51So both in the regressive iterations and leftward regressiveism and the godlessness of an attempt
629. 46:01to establish some means of conservatism without the cross, we have a society that is not robust
630. 46:08enough to withstand those temptations.
631. 46:10So we end up trying to solve spiritual problems with political means.
632. 46:14Oh, well, what we really need to do is we just need to tax the rich even more.
633. 46:19When if you just stop and think for a moment that the top 50% of wage earners in our country
634. 46:24pay 100% of the taxes right now.
635. 46:29Do you do you understand that?
636. 46:32the top 15%, the top 15% pay a huge bulk.
637. 46:38Guys, it's, it's the type of incapacity, the reason that
638. 46:41Romans one told us about tax the rich even more when the rich
639. 46:52already paid. Like, do you realize that the people who are
640. 46:58making who are part of the the the lowest 50% of wage earners,
641. 47:03they're not paying federal income taxes. Do you realize that?
642. 47:05And this is what I mean.
643. 47:12They're getting refunds at tax time that far exceed anything they've contributed.
644. 47:17That if you do a very simple analysis, how much did you put in versus how much you got
645. 47:21back, they're very often receiving five, ten, five, seven, eight, $10,000, $10,000 in some
646. 47:27examples and paying zero.
647. 47:32That's just the facts.
648. 47:33That's the objective truth.
649. 47:35But we can't deal with the objective truth because we're so caught up in the rhetoric
650. 47:40and the emotional appeals that is only effective when it's not a core.
651. 47:44What the description say about the man whose house has been swept clean, right?
652. 47:47When the demons have been excise, the house will swept clean.
653. 47:50The Bible says the demons walk around in dry places, but having no rest,
654. 47:55they try to come back to what they perceive as home.
655. 47:58And if they come back and find the house swept clean, what happens?
656. 48:01There's a reoccupation in the latter state is worse than the former state.
657. 48:05What I'm saying while it is right to celebrate what God has done in establishing
658. 48:09this land of the free and the home of the brave.
659. 48:11God's freedom has a responsibility to it as well.
660. 48:16And if we think we can maintain quote unquote freedom
661. 48:18in our nation and the witness of Christ
662. 48:21is continually eroded our country,
663. 48:23we have purchased fulls gold.
664. 48:29So I would urge as a part of our celebration
665. 48:32of 250 years that we get about the father's business
666. 48:35of making disciples in our nation.
