  9. 0:26Let's not miss our moment.
  10. 0:28And now, the Hamilton Corner.
  11. 0:32Well, good evening, everybody.
  12. 0:34Alex McFarland here is so honored that you're listening,
  13. 0:37and I am sitting in for attorney and pastor,
  14. 0:40broadcaster Abe Hamilton III.
  15. 0:42And it's a great honor always to sit in
  16. 0:45on the American Family Radio Network.
  17. 0:47My regular show that you may be familiar with
  18. 0:50is called Exploring the Word.
  19. 0:51We are heard live five days a week, Monday through Friday.
  20. 0:55And that's a Bible teaching show.
  21. 0:56I have a great privilege whenever attorney Abe Hamilton asked me to sit in for him like today.
  22. 1:04We try to bring guests that we know will inspire you. Incredible stories of what God has done in
  23. 1:10the lives of great people and today is just one of those days. I'll introduce a very special friend
  24. 1:15in just a moment. But in that intro, you might have heard Abe Hamilton say that we are Christ's
  25. 1:22ambassadors. Do you know that's really true in 2 Corinthians 5 verse 20? God's word says this,
  26. 1:282 Corinthians 5 20, we are therefore Christ ambassadors. As though God were making his appeal
  27. 1:36through us, we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. I love how the old King James
  28. 1:43renders that. It says, we beseech you in Christ's stead. In other words, if Jesus were here,
  29. 1:50He would say exactly what I'm saying to you, that God loves you, you can know God personally,
  30. 1:57and Christ Jesus gave his life that we could be forgiven. And so we're going to talk about this and
  31. 2:03how you, yes, you, dear friend, you can be an ambassador for Jesus, you can be a witness for Christ.
  32. 2:10I love this subject, and I'll say this, then I will bring our guest on when I was 21,
  33. 2:15and I was a college student and I got saved. Right away I was concerned for my
  34. 2:21buddies at college because as far as I knew none of them knew the Lord. That was
  35. 2:26pretty much true and I was very shy. I felt very inadequate but I had to do my
  36. 2:32best to try and get my friends to respond to the gospel. And little did I
  37. 2:38know that would be God's call on my life and to this day now more than 35 years
  38. 2:44later. I really still have one driving priority in my life that people hear the gospel and be saved.
  39. 2:52And that's the heartbeat also of my guest Barry Maguire. We've worked together and had him on the
  40. 2:59radio a number of times. He has become a close personal friend. He more than anybody I know,
  41. 3:05I mean he's like a living Billy Graham in that this man lives and breathes to see people get saved.
  42. 3:12And when it comes to sharing the gospel, and I don't say this lightly, but he's an expert.
  43. 3:17I mean, he really is. And he's trained more people in evangelism. He's influenced so many,
  44. 3:22myself included. He's with us now to talk about the gospel and how God can use our lives to share it.
  45. 3:29It's Barry Maguire. Welcome to the show, Barry.
  46. 3:33Thank you, Alex. And I had to laugh because I'm an introvert. I get to get out of here. I get
  47. 3:40share my faith because I don't have the personality. Like he said, going to the world, all you,
  48. 3:45who have an outgoing personality, of course he didn't say that. I was an introvert. I hid
  49. 3:51behind my wife, literally, in situations where I didn't know people and I waited. She's never
  50. 3:57known a stranger. You don't care. And once she would start the conversation, I'd pop out and say,
  51. 4:02I'm her husband, you know. It was the same thing for me. I felt compelled to share my faith.
  52. 4:09And it forced me to start talking to people. Even my business didn't do that. It was sharing my
  53. 4:15faith that forced me, compelled me to start speaking. Because I knew that's what God wanted me to do.
  54. 4:20And it was forced to begin with. Now it's just the joy that the most fun you and I both have is
  55. 4:27talking to people about Jesus. So, it gets a lot easier. But even if you're an introvert, folks,
  56. 4:34that's not excuse and the scripture that comes to mind is that we've been called we've been
  57. 4:39justified to God. What's what's that we've been rheumans five one justified by faith we have peace
  58. 4:49with God. Well I think about we what's the great verse I had it it's it's a one we've been we've been
  59. 4:58justified to God who Jesus Christ and called to the ministry of it's not the word justification what
  60. 5:03What is the word reconciliation reconciliation?
  61. 5:07Yeah, we're reconcilers.
  62. 5:09That's what we're called to do.
  63. 5:10Number one fact, that's what the entirety of our life is about.
  64. 5:13After we're saved, it's to be reconciled to reconcile people to God,
  65. 5:18through the ministry, to our understanding of Jesus Christ.
  66. 5:22And your joy.
  67. 5:23What a joy.
  68. 5:24And you know, folks, in all sincerity, when Barry says he was an introvert,
  69. 5:31I really relate.
  70. 5:32I mean, I have been very introverted,
  71. 5:35but what brought me out of my shell for God's glory,
  72. 5:39I just knew the guys, my college,
  73. 5:43root friends and all that, they needed Jesus.
  74. 5:47And I thought like I might be in a position to share Jesus,
  75. 5:51and I couldn't stay silent.
  76. 5:54Do you relate to that very?
  77. 5:57Exactly, exactly, nothing else word.
  78. 6:00My business, my own business left me as an introvert.
  79. 6:04But when I saw people lost, they're probably going to stay lost unless I say something,
  80. 6:08them might not be anybody in their life.
  81. 6:10That's true today.
  82. 6:11As so few of us that are sharing our faith, they were surrounded by people who lost, like
  83. 6:1790% of people around us every day are lost.
  84. 6:19And they're going to stay lost unless we tell them God loves them.
  85. 6:23And they're not going to church.
  86. 6:25They're only hope is us.
  87. 6:26Indeed.
  88. 6:27So, you mentioned your business and I want to talk about that because you and your wife
  89. 6:34Karen have done such a great job at living for the Lord and committing your work to Christ.
  90. 6:42And folks were talking with Bear McGuire and I'm a car guy.
  91. 6:46Have been since I was a little kid, you know, I would save up 99 cents so I could buy a Hot
  92. 6:51Will Carr. Well, Maguire's Car Wax, which is the most renowned name in Car Wax. I remember
  93. 7:01Berry down in rural North Carolina. I bought a 66 Ford for $250 and I went up to the hardware
  94. 7:12store and I bought a burgundy bottle of Maguire's Car Wax. I really did. I was 16 years old.
  95. 7:19If you would tell people about the story of your family business, it's beautiful.
  96. 7:26Well, I'm blessed.
  97. 7:30I'm not a first generation Christian.
  98. 7:31It actually goes back multiple generations on both sides of my family.
  99. 7:36My grandfather, Frank McGuire, Jr.
  100. 7:38Stearmogwires in 1901, loved the Lord.
  101. 7:42I actually have a book.
  102. 7:43I think I should it to you, Alex.
  103. 7:46on deep theology that he's written on every page of it.
  104. 7:52You know, this is my grandfather,
  105. 7:53and I knew him as I was a youngster,
  106. 7:56and he prayed and God led him into creating a polish,
  107. 8:02and he was not a chemist.
  108. 8:04He was selling furniture polish,
  109. 8:06and he couldn't find a polish
  110. 8:08that actually created a perfect finish on black,
  111. 8:11lacquer furniture, so he prayed,
  112. 8:13God, can you help me with this?
  113. 8:14and he did, and he was in Evansville, Indiana,
  114. 8:18and over half of the horses carriage manufacturers
  115. 8:20were in Indiana, the state of Indiana.
  116. 8:23They're all painted with black lacquer,
  117. 8:24and as God would lead it without his permission,
  118. 8:28they started taking his furniture polish
  119. 8:30and putting it on their carriages,
  120. 8:31and it became a carriage of polish.
  121. 8:35And one thing led to another, and now I'm very proud
  122. 8:39the fact that IndyCar guy, if you ask them
  123. 8:41why is McGuire's car wax, my squire's polishes so popular, what do they do that nobody else can do?
  124. 8:48They'll tell you they create a perfect finish on black paint. The very same passion that my
  125. 8:57granddad had in 1901 here in 2026, we are living in his legacy and doing exactly what he did then.
  126. 9:05So I'm honored my granddad.
  127. 9:08I'm very proud of that guy.
  128. 9:09I got to him and have him about it.
  129. 9:11But I've seen true to the course
  130. 9:13that God put him on and it served us pretty well
  131. 9:16in the area of ministry.
  132. 9:18Amen, amen.
  133. 9:20Well, listen, I want to get to evangelism,
  134. 9:24but I have to tell you this.
  135. 9:26My wife and I went to a car show Saturday a week ago.
  136. 9:30There was a for charity, there was a car show
  137. 9:32in Greensboro, North Carolina.
  138. 9:34and we got there and there was a well over 100 cars,
  139. 9:38their muscle cars and some tea bucket,
  140. 9:41hot rods and different things.
  141. 9:43And as we were walking around,
  142. 9:46all everybody had two or three or four Maguire's products.
  143. 9:52And they were detailing their cars,
  144. 9:55getting their cars perfect.
  145. 9:56And I thought, I know that guy.
  146. 9:59Look, I know that guy.
  147. 10:00It was pretty cool.
  148. 10:02It is amazing. We are the car guys car wax. I folks in car guys from the very beginning
  149. 10:09when that term wasn't even a term and retailers paid no attention to us. And now it's, in
  150. 10:15fact the matter is, if you're not a car guy, you're not even thinking about waxing your
  151. 10:18car today. Car guys consume about 85% of all the car wax. And that has been our focus of
  152. 10:24the years of greatest show car perfect paint finish. And God's been very good to us in
  153. 10:28that. But who that I mean, he'll take anything folks, he'll take
  154. 10:33everything and uses your pulpit. I mean, he's taking
  155. 10:36time to go figure I pedal car wax and it's been my part on a
  156. 10:42global basis to proclaim his name to share him everywhere I go. And
  157. 10:46the more I've done that, the more he's blessed by business. And
  158. 10:49the more I realize I'm shining for Jesus, I'm not I'm not God
  159. 10:53doesn't necessarily care about shiny cars. You're just like
  160. 10:56getting people into heaven when you use whatever is in your hand to get people to Jesus and
  161. 11:03get them into heaven, then he'll bless whatever is in your hand. I don't care if you're an athlete
  162. 11:08or a lawyer or a plumber or a housewife or whatever, whatever you do, if you use your
  163. 11:13place, you're in your mission field right now. If you use it every moment of every day
  164. 11:18to seize every opportunity to move everybody every day closer to Jesus, it sounds simple
  165. 11:24And it is, it really is.
  166. 11:26And then you end up really kind of praying without ceasing, without even thinking about
  167. 11:31it because you're just continually thinking about where everybody around you at any given time
  168. 11:36are in their walk with the Lord.
  169. 11:38And in most cases, they're lost.
  170. 11:40And again, folks are going to stay lost unless we speak up and we love them.
  171. 11:45We don't point out differences.
  172. 11:46We don't condemn them.
  173. 11:47We just love them.
  174. 11:48He said, they'll know your way to say, well, buy your love.
  175. 11:51And you said earlier, I don't train anybody.
  176. 11:54You don't have to be trained to love on people.
  177. 11:57Well, amen.
  178. 11:59Amen.
  179. 12:00You know, Matthew 6, verse 33 says, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and
  180. 12:06all these other things will be added to Him.
  181. 12:10That really is the priority, isn't it?
  182. 12:12For a born-again Christian, Jesus and walking with the Lord, representing the Lord, that's
  183. 12:19got to be the priority, isn't it?
  184. 12:22It is the priority.
  185. 12:25It is the priority of life.
  186. 12:27If we just did what he told us to do, life becomes simple.
  187. 12:31First, I have been there for several decades.
  188. 12:33I don't see it with pride.
  189. 12:35I'm just saying his proof that the scripture actually works.
  190. 12:39I did a podcast last week with Butch Wilmore Berry's first name.
  191. 12:44I liked his name, but he goes by Butch Wilmore.
  192. 12:47And he was the astronaut that got trapped in space last year for nine months.
  193. 12:52He went up for 12 days.
  194. 12:53He was up there for nine months.
  195. 12:54Goodness.
  196. 12:55And he lives for the Lord and I actually had a friend
  197. 12:59connect me with him.
  198. 13:01And so we spent a couple of days with each other last week.
  199. 13:05And we're immediately one.
  200. 13:07What he was saying, we were just soul mates.
  201. 13:11And on the podcast, we went through that a little bit.
  202. 13:16And I related to a conversation,
  203. 13:19really an interview I did with a lady
  204. 13:21in Fresno, California, the church had a lot of faith shares.
  205. 13:25I was interviewing them and she's my age.
  206. 13:29A very poor, had just gone through heart surgery
  207. 13:31but was determined she wanted to come
  208. 13:33and talk to me on camera about face sharing.
  209. 13:36And I finally said to her, I think I'm in the way.
  210. 13:39Could you just look at that camera and share your heart?
  211. 13:42She says, I'm glad, yes, I'll do that.
  212. 13:45As she talked for about a half an hour,
  213. 13:47as she talked, I wept because this lady was saying exactly what I've experienced.
  214. 13:58And I've never told anybody because they don't want to brag.
  215. 14:01But I haven't had fear.
  216. 14:03I haven't had anxiety.
  217. 14:04I haven't had depression.
  218. 14:05I haven't had any of that for years because I just want to honor God.
  219. 14:09And when you honor God, if you seek you first, give me my God, everything else works.
  220. 14:15when you realize it's true.
  221. 14:18Amen.
  222. 14:19And I think he bothered almost,
  223. 14:22why is it that this lady in a
  224. 14:24decidedly different life than me
  225. 14:26in Fresno, California, was identical
  226. 14:29with me, okay?
  227. 14:32And then I'm talking to Butch Wilmore
  228. 14:34and as he's talking about no fear
  229. 14:37and all joy and loving no matter
  230. 14:39what happens if he's trapped in space,
  231. 14:41it's God's in it and it's a joyful time.
  232. 14:44it by choosing it.
  233. 14:46Very whole about that.
  234. 14:47Forgive me.
  235. 14:48We got to pull out for a quick break.
  236. 14:49Hold that thought.
  237. 14:50Okay.
  238. 14:51Folks, Alex McPherland here.
  239. 14:52We're talking with our very special guest, Barry McGuire.
  240. 14:55The joy of the Lord can be yours.
  241. 14:57Stay tuned.

  250. 15:29Shining light into the darkness, this is the Hamilton Quarter on American Family Radio.
  251. 15:40Welcome back to the American Family Radio Network Alex McCralland here. Always a
  252. 15:46privilege to talk with Barry Maguire. And frankly, every time Barry and I talk, man, I just feel uplifted
  253. 15:53for days and days. And he really, you should be so fortunate folks as to get to be friends with
  254. 16:00Barry Maguire. He is, he and his wife both are the personification of joy, joy in the Lord. And
  255. 16:09listen, it doesn't mean everything's been perfect. In this world, things come along. But when you've
  256. 16:15You've got Jesus and you know His Word.
  257. 16:18And folks, let me just say you can absolutely depend on the promises of God's Word.
  258. 16:25And we'll talk about that, but you can have joy at all times.
  259. 16:29Now some days are good, some days are hard, we have mountaintops, and if you're like the
  260. 16:36rest of us folks, life will take you through some, probably some deep valleys.
  261. 16:40But when you know, I think about John 1028, Jesus said that we are in His hands.
  262. 16:47And John 1028, nothing can pluck us out of His hand.
  263. 16:53That realization, that confidence, there is joy in that.
  264. 16:57And my friend Barry McGuire, he is a joyful brother in the Lord.
  265. 17:01Barry, before the break, you were talking about a woman you had on your podcast and you had
  266. 17:07just a great kinship and a great joy. Continue your story if you would, brother.
  267. 17:14You know, you don't need me. You've got, you and I are so light. I'm just repeating what you say.
  268. 17:23I'm affirming what you say with your life and with your ministry or your radio ministry.
  269. 17:28But this is a Pratio experience, quite frankly. This Black Lady grew up very poor,
  270. 17:36Fresno, California, I'm having her speak to camera talking about her love for the Lord and how she
  271. 17:41shares her faith. And as she was sharing, I, I, I, I, wept because she was saying what I feel to my
  272. 17:51core that I've never shared with people because I don't want to offend people where they think I'm
  273. 17:55a space cadet, but I don't have any fear. I never lose my joy. I trust I have joy every day. I have
  274. 18:05that and she was expressing that same thing and I thought how is this lady in a
  275. 18:10decidedly different environment than me speak exactly the same feelings the
  276. 18:17innermost feelings I have a piece with God and so I'm interviewing now Butch Wilmore
  277. 18:24the astronaut that was stuck in space for nine months last year he was going he
  278. 18:29went up for 12 days against I for nine months as he was talking about the piece
  279. 18:33He starts saying the same thing that I thought is amazing, the pureness.
  280. 18:41When we just do what God tells us to do, it's a very same thing and it occurred to me that
  281. 18:48we try to get closer to God and the closer we get to God, the closer we get to each other.
  282. 18:55until, I mean, you could be lost in space,
  283. 18:59or you could be this lady with the no means
  284. 19:02to speak of old age and a heart problem in Fresno,
  285. 19:05or you could very much have had a self-scarway.
  286. 19:07Decidedly, three, decided different people,
  287. 19:10all having oneness in Christ,
  288. 19:14and all having this total peace and joy.
  289. 19:20John 15 and 11 says, when you bear fruit, my joy,
  290. 19:23I mean, with you and your joy will remain full.
  291. 19:27You want to have joy every day?
  292. 19:29I discovered that in 1973.
  293. 19:34I'm 53 years into having joy every day, having no fear.
  294. 19:41Never having a bad day, bad things happen.
  295. 19:44I lost my 49 years.
  296. 19:45This is not academic for me, folks.
  297. 19:47I lost my 49-year-old daughter, the most precious person
  298. 19:51in the world to be after my wife and a prolific face share.
  299. 19:54I lost her for a hundred years of age.
  300. 19:57I was in the hospital and the doctors gave up
  301. 19:59and I see you, they said we can't save you.
  302. 20:03I had a joint venture part, I found the next one,
  303. 20:05they're gonna throw me out of my own business.
  304. 20:08I've seen it, I've faced the devil, I've faced trials.
  305. 20:12I'll match it with the trials, I've faced,
  306. 20:16but I've never lost my joy.
  307. 20:18You know why?
  308. 20:19Because I'm for him.
  309. 20:21I live for his purpose.
  310. 20:23and we live for His purpose.
  311. 20:25Romans 8, it says that, when you live for my,
  312. 20:28when you love me and live for my purpose,
  313. 20:30everything works for good, right?
  314. 20:32Amen.
  315. 20:33Purpose, it's purpose to seek and save the lost,
  316. 20:37to love your neighbor as yourself.
  317. 20:38It's so simple, folks.
  318. 20:40And when that's the driving force of your life,
  319. 20:42every day it doesn't matter what happens,
  320. 20:45God uses it and you always have,
  321. 20:49I mean, if you're not,
  322. 20:51If you haven't gotten into the shed, you're missing the part of being a Christian.
  323. 20:56It's incredible.
  324. 20:57Barry, let me ask you this, because no doubt many people listening would say, I want that.
  325. 21:06Man, that joy, that confidence, that unshakable trust, I sure wish I had that in my life.
  326. 21:14So I've got a couple of questions, one of which is this for the Christian listening,
  327. 21:19Barry, they say, I want that confidence that Barry and Karen Maguire have.
  328. 21:26How do they move to that place, Barry?
  329. 21:30That's what started sharing our faith, quite frankly.
  330. 21:341973, our two little girls were dedicated to the church, to the Lord, we're giving sacrificial
  331. 21:41for a time, our money, everything.
  332. 21:43And we had no joy.
  333. 21:45We were dry.
  334. 21:46We were actually nipping each other and carrying that star.
  335. 21:48I said, there's something wrong here.
  336. 21:50So we started praying specifically for joy.
  337. 21:53We prayed, God give us joy.
  338. 21:55That was the focus of our prayers.
  339. 21:59And we ended up going to a luncheon.
  340. 22:01It was the 50th anniversary of our church.
  341. 22:04And the speaker was a guy named Herb Ellingwood.
  342. 22:06He was the legal affairs secretary.
  343. 22:08I give my age away now, 1973.
  344. 22:11He was the legal affairs secretary for Governor Reagan.
  345. 22:15And I was sat right beside him at the speaker's table, okay?
  346. 22:20If they had table and for an hour, I mean, God did this.
  347. 22:23I didn't even have any responsibilities that day.
  348. 22:25And the pastor put me right beside him.
  349. 22:28And for an hour straight, he didn't eat his food.
  350. 22:32He didn't talk to anybody else.
  351. 22:33He didn't talk about Governor Reagan, Ronald Reagan.
  352. 22:36He just talked about one story after another
  353. 22:39about how much fun he was to have sharing his faith.
  354. 22:44And I walked away from that encounter and tears,
  355. 22:46I said, that's the joy I want.
  356. 22:48There may be some people saying that today,
  357. 22:50as you just said, that's the joy I want.
  358. 22:52And we talked and we said, okay, we're gonna start doing it
  359. 22:55today.
  360. 22:57And we ended up coming up with this term,
  361. 22:59we move everybody every day closer.
  362. 23:01She's not just one a day, everybody,
  363. 23:04but the world around us is lost.
  364. 23:06You just start loving everybody.
  365. 23:08And you know what, when you do that,
  366. 23:09he blushes everything else.
  367. 23:11We ended up being the number one selling carwax
  368. 23:13because I'm smart, because I'm a great marker.
  369. 23:16Oh, are you kidding me?
  370. 23:18I could not have possibly done that.
  371. 23:20I didn't have a clue what I was doing.
  372. 23:22I said, God, I could trust you with my whole heart
  373. 23:25because I don't have any intelligence.
  374. 23:28But in the process, when you make that,
  375. 23:30he says, you know, when they ask him,
  376. 23:32what's the most important thing to do?
  377. 23:35He said the same thing, he says in Romans 8.28.
  378. 23:37He says, which is the most important command,
  379. 23:42but love me with all your heart, mind, and soul.
  380. 23:44And the second is liken unto it the same.
  381. 23:47If you love me, you love your neighbor as yourself.
  382. 23:50That's everybody around us, folks, everybody you're with
  383. 23:53every day.
  384. 23:54And if you love them as you love yourself,
  385. 23:56you're as concerned for their salvation as you are your own.
  386. 23:59And that changes everything in your life,
  387. 24:02your language, what you're looking at, what you laugh at,
  388. 24:05everything you wanna do, everything you do,
  389. 24:07you wanna bring glory to God,
  390. 24:09You want them to see Jesus through you.
  391. 24:13And when you do that, his joy comes in
  392. 24:15and you have joy even in the worst of your moments.
  393. 24:18You know, God's there, he's in it.
  394. 24:21And it's God's promise, it's so simple.
  395. 24:25And yet there's the one thing,
  396. 24:27don't want to do to one thing, Satan doesn't want you to do.
  397. 24:30And he puts fear in you.
  398. 24:32That's his number one tool against you.
  399. 24:34He puts fear, you know, I can't do it.
  400. 24:36all these million reasons why you can't share your faith.
  401. 24:40We have a place on our website, most frequent excuses.
  402. 24:43Okay, I'm very good.
  403. 24:45I'm not, I don't know, I haven't traded,
  404. 24:48and we blow them out of the water.
  405. 24:50He just said go and love on people.
  406. 24:53That's all you have, folks, it's so simple.
  407. 24:56It's so simple.
  408. 24:57Change everything.
  409. 24:59The Voice You're Hearing, folks, is Barry Maguire,
  410. 25:01and two websites, listen carefully,
  411. 25:04IgniteAmerica.com and then seekingGod.org, seekingGod.org and people will hear the gospel.
  412. 25:13I'm going to talk more about this, but while we're at this point, I want to ask you
  413. 25:18and thank you for the practical wisdom and your own journey with the Lord, Barry.
  414. 25:25How, as a Christian, how can a person hear the Holy Spirit more consistently?
  415. 25:30I'm going to need your back to forgive you, but it's true.
  416. 25:39When you just live for him, when he, you do one thing, he's only asked us to do one thing,
  417. 25:44love on the people around us.
  418. 25:46And when he, when we do that, we come close to him and he speaks through us.
  419. 25:53Let me give you how the idea, this is how it works every time I've been doing for 50
  420. 25:57years, never fails.
  421. 25:58I love on people.
  422. 26:00I love, I love it.
  423. 26:01I don't wait for this last night.
  424. 26:02She was cantankerous and I just started joking
  425. 26:04when I got her laughing.
  426. 26:06You know, and all of a sudden we're having a good time.
  427. 26:08All of a sudden finally I came to the tights
  428. 26:10or something I could pray for you about.
  429. 26:13And she opened it up and she shared
  430. 26:15and we prayed at the end she gave me a hug
  431. 26:19and I gave her our Seeking God card.
  432. 26:20We have these cards as SeekingGod.org, you care?
  433. 26:23You can get them from us free of charge.
  434. 26:25And I gave that to her and I walked away
  435. 26:27not just having moved her closer to God
  436. 26:29but giving her a pathway to actually frame the center's prayer.
  437. 26:33It's just so easy when you, very specifically,
  438. 26:38let me give you a critical verse.
  439. 26:41You love on somebody, you love on everybody.
  440. 26:45They were, everybody starving for love,
  441. 26:47so they will open up.
  442. 26:48When you mention God while you're loving them
  443. 26:50in a non-offensive way,
  444. 26:52you might say something like,
  445. 26:54well that must break God's heart.
  446. 26:56Or boy, God saved your bacon on that one.
  447. 26:59It is not.
  448. 27:00It is not.
  449. 27:01It does not offend them, but lets them know your Christian.
  450. 27:05Once they know that, do you know the world is seeking God right now?
  451. 27:08The entire world, everybody, once and over God, and they don't know who to ask, and all
  452. 27:15of a sudden, here's this nice person I just met in the line at Starbucks, and they know
  453. 27:19God and they will open up folks.
  454. 27:22I'll guarantee you within five minutes, they'll open up and they'll tell you something that
  455. 27:28reveals where they are. Oh God couldn't possibly love me. Whatever he says. You don't have to
  456. 27:33prepare for an answer. This is the best part. You don't have to prepare because the Holy Spirit
  457. 27:38gives you the words to say. This is supernatural. This is where the supernatural. You want to come
  458. 27:42close to the Holy Spirit? Trust him on this. Luke 12 says, the Holy Spirit, Luke 12, look it up.
  459. 27:49The Holy Spirit will give you the words to say. And when they ask and they reveal something,
  460. 27:55He'll give you the words to say, He'll give you a script you haven't heard in years and you're
  461. 28:00quoting and forbade them. And at that moment, folks, at that moment you realize God has you
  462. 28:07exactly right where He wants you right at that moment. And He's orchestrated that conversation.
  463. 28:13He's put that conversation together wherever it might be. It could be on the street, wherever.
  464. 28:20And He's given you the words to say, and the person in front of you is changing in front of your
  465. 28:25that's intimacy with God and you can have that multiple times every day. It's there for the
  466. 28:35offing and when you do that, he takes everything else in your life and makes it work for good.
  467. 28:41Wow. He really does.
  468. 28:43You mentioned Luke 1212. I'm going to read it. Jesus says, for the Holy Spirit will teach
  469. 28:51you in that very hour what you ought to say.
  470. 28:55I've experienced that.
  471. 28:57That's a true promise of God, isn't it?
  472. 29:00Powerful.
  473. 29:01And you deal when you know God's speaking.
  474. 29:03I mean, I've been a car wax folks.
  475. 29:05I'm not an academic.
  476. 29:06I'm a terrible student.
  477. 29:08I'm not a pastor.
  478. 29:10I'm talking from real life.
  479. 29:11I'm just a layman that I'm in my 80s.
  480. 29:15And I say, I brag about nothing except the scriptures actually work.
  481. 29:20Amen.
  482. 29:21work and live them through the worst of circumstances.
  483. 29:26And he's given me joy all the way through because I don't, when I'm in the hospital dying and
  484. 29:31they gave up on me, I didn't know if I was going to die or not.
  485. 29:34I said, God, if I'm going to die and I'm trying to lead as many people to you as I possibly
  486. 29:39can, became a game for me.
  487. 29:41And I began looking up for who's the next first to come to that door.
  488. 29:47And when I had a hospital, I counted 23 different doctors and nurses that I administered too,
  489. 29:53not to count all my friends because they don't expect you to be laughing and having joy when
  490. 29:58you're dying.
  491. 29:59They don't expect that.
  492. 30:01That is really true.
  493. 30:03That is really true.
  494. 30:05And in the passing of my dad, we were able to share the gospel with several people at the
  495. 30:12hospital. And you know, literally my wife, my mother, my sister and I, we were in a hospital room.
  496. 30:19My dad, his body was on the bed. He had just passed away. And yeah, I mean, of course we were
  497. 30:25sad, but my dad was born again Christian. I know we'll see him again. And a couple of the, you know,
  498. 30:32staff at the hospital came in to console us. And but we had joy because we knew he was with the Lord.
  499. 30:42But I got to say this about witnessing to people that, folks, don't be afraid, don't be apprehensive,
  500. 30:51and I'll tell you why. For one thing, God has called us to do this. He's promised to be with us,
  501. 30:57like Luke 1212. He's promised to give us the words we need. But here's the reality I've found,
  502. 31:02Barry, and I'd love for you to speak to it. While we're talking about sharing Jesus with somebody,
  503. 31:09the people we meet probably have been in their heart seeking God and waiting on somebody to talk
  504. 31:17to them. I've had this many times when I would try to steer the conversation towards Jesus.
  505. 31:22People would say, do you know, I've just been thinking about this. In my heart, I've said,
  506. 31:29God, how do I find you? And so, folks, you and I are sharing, but people all around us are seeking.
  507. 31:37Because everybody is, we've been sharing our faith,
  508. 31:41caring about sharing our faith every day since 1973, okay?
  509. 31:45So it's 53 years.
  510. 31:47It's always been easier than people thought because when I first started, I was stressing
  511. 31:54and I had to have the right words, I get the points down.
  512. 31:56If I just stopped all that and just started loving, I'd be able to change everything.
  513. 32:00But we've been doing that all these years.
  514. 32:03It's always been easy.
  515. 32:04But I get to tell you, I think, I almost put it to when Charlie Kirk was killed.
  516. 32:11It shook the world.
  517. 32:13Hold that for a moment.
  518. 32:14Folks, when we come back, we're going to talk about our mutual friend, Charlie Kirk,
  519. 32:19and what God is doing even in the aftermath of that tragedy.
  520. 32:22Bear McGuire, our very special guest on AFR tonight.
  521. 32:26Stay tuned.

  538. 34:04we will be in North Myrtle Beach. This is part of our Revive US tour. We're all over the country.
  539. 34:10Next month I'll be in Texas. But June 20th, which if you happen to be near North Myrtle Beach,

  541. 34:24We've had a lot of great speakers there and we've got a number of events, but tomorrow night,
  542. 34:287 p.m. it's a free event. It's open. The public is invited. We've got forever forgiven a fantastic
  543. 34:35praise band. We've got some custom videos that we are going to show that have never been shown

  545. 34:47open mic Q&A. And so we would love for you to come. The website is just AlexMcFarlane.com.
  546. 34:53AlexMcFarlane.com and our very special guest Barry Maguire, two websites, take note if you would,
  547. 35:00and you will be inspired, you'll be motivated. You'll want to get out there and be a world
  548. 35:05changer, just like Barry Maguire is, but igniteamerica.com. And then seekinggod.org,
  549. 35:13which incidentally, if you're trying to witness to somebody and share Jesus, just refer them to
  550. 35:19the website, seekinggod.org.
  551. 35:22Barry, I always like to say to people,
  552. 35:25this is a little tagline we use,
  553. 35:27but I'll say, Jesus is as close by as a prayer.
  554. 35:31Just if you're not even sure,
  555. 35:33just say, Lord Jesus revealed yourself to me.
  556. 35:38And I found out people, almost universally,
  557. 35:42people are interested in Jesus really, aren't they?
  558. 35:46Absolutely, I would read before the break.
  559. 35:50I think Charlie Kirk, as tragic as it was, it impacted the whole world.
  560. 35:57And the most godless now are interested in God.
  561. 36:01They're wondering, what's going on?
  562. 36:07And those that seem to be the farthest from God need him the most.
  563. 36:13And here and I, we run to the people that are the ones, you know, those are hurting the world most hurt people the most.
  564. 36:22And I run to people, I have some water in people that don't look like me.
  565. 36:25And they think I'm an old white guy oppressor, you know, I love you guys.
  566. 36:32They don't know what to do with you.
  567. 36:34But yes, everybody, you can just presume that everybody around you is looking for God.
  568. 36:39And I don't care if they just been protesting, lying, and shouting, or whatever, on an individual
  569. 36:44basis, they just want to know where God is.
  570. 36:48Where is He?
  571. 36:49What makes sense?
  572. 36:50And we have the answer.
  573. 36:52We carry this precious gift around the clay pots of our ordinary lives.
  574. 36:56That's in the book, The Message.
  575. 36:57I love that.
  576. 36:58Right?
  577. 36:59But we have this great opportunity right now.
  578. 37:03We have the answer.
  579. 37:05And it's so simple.
  580. 37:06Amen.
  581. 37:07Let me encourage everybody for one thing
  582. 37:10Be willing to make time when these gospel opportunities
  583. 37:15Come right in front of you and I'll give an example in just a moment
  584. 37:19But in your car folks get some gospel booklets
  585. 37:23Or or some you know the Billy Graham ministry has a little booklet called peace with God and they'll send you some of these for free
  586. 37:31We've given them out in tons of places.
  587. 37:34Barry has a card on SeekingGod.org,
  588. 37:38a little kind of a business card size thing, don't you Barry?
  589. 37:42Right, and it's available free of charge.
  590. 37:44Let's go to our website, IgniteAmerica.com,
  591. 37:48and we'll send you a package of these cards.
  592. 37:50They don't promote our ministry.
  593. 37:52You can't give us money.
  594. 37:54You don't have to tell us who you are when you opt in.
  595. 37:59and there is no passwords.
  596. 38:01It's just immediate ministry to those who hand this card out to
  597. 38:05that will lead them to Jesus Christ so effortlessly.
  598. 38:09It's so much fun.
  599. 38:10So rather than leaving people in the Lord,
  600. 38:12you have these conversations several times a day
  601. 38:14and you walk away rather than leaving them in the Lord,
  602. 38:17you've whet their appetite
  603. 38:18that you give them this card seekinggod.org
  604. 38:21and quite frankly folks,
  605. 38:22and now we've even don't know the Lord yet.
  606. 38:25And I would encourage you right now, go to seekinggod.org.
  607. 38:29and it will give you all the scriptural pathway
  608. 38:31and they're saying how much God loves you
  609. 38:33as much as he's ever loved any,
  610. 38:35he's never loved any more than you.
  611. 38:37He's never loved you.
  612. 38:38He knows what you're gonna say before you say it.
  613. 38:42And he still loves you.
  614. 38:43And as this one desire to spend eternity with him,
  615. 38:46wow, can you believe that?
  616. 38:48I mean, it's incredible.
  617. 38:50Amen.
  618. 38:51It is.
  619. 38:52And Barry, I know you would agree,
  620. 38:55The most precious thing in your life will be your relationship with Jesus.
  621. 39:01Folks, if you're listing, you think, you know, what are these guys for real?
  622. 39:06Well, Jesus is for real.
  623. 39:08And I will tell you more than money, more than achievements, more than anything you've ever
  624. 39:15quested after to know that the Lord Jesus, He loves you.
  625. 39:21He will never betray you.
  626. 39:23He is the friend who sticks closer than a brother.
  627. 39:27For me, I've been a believer about 36 years,
  628. 39:30and Barry, since 1973, the most precious, most cherished,
  629. 39:38most wonderful thing you'll ever experience
  630. 39:41is your relationship with Jesus Christ.
  631. 39:44And like we say, he's as close by as a prayer.
  632. 39:48I would go even further.
  633. 39:50It is the Russia with God, but the fulfillment,
  634. 39:53the joy comes when we share our faith.
  635. 39:57Amen.
  636. 39:58You might think that he wants to share our faith
  637. 40:01to win the loss.
  638. 40:02That's secondary, folks.
  639. 40:03It's actually secondary.
  640. 40:05His first reason is to reach you,
  641. 40:08to ignite you, to fill you with joy.
  642. 40:10If you go to Isaiah 43, 10,
  643. 40:13this powerful message,
  644. 40:15it's the only place they'd tell you about by a guy
  645. 40:16where he says why.
  646. 40:18He tells you for Genesis,
  647. 40:19the relation he tells you to go,
  648. 40:21proclaim the good news.
  649. 40:23But at night, they have 43, 10, this is what he says.
  650. 40:26Let's say it to the Lord.
  651. 40:28I pointed by witness so that you will believe.
  652. 40:33What?
  653. 40:34So that you will believe.
  654. 40:36Because in the sharing of your faith,
  655. 40:38the Holy Spirit is usually you and speaking through you
  656. 40:41and you have intimacy with God,
  657. 40:43and that ignites your life.
  658. 40:45In fact, I wrote a book.
  659. 40:47You might find it, you go on Amazon
  660. 40:49and it's entitled Ignites Your Life.
  661. 40:52It's an Amazon bestseller and it tells 50 years of doing this.
  662. 40:57And it's plus my life.
  663. 40:58It's not really about my life.
  664. 41:00It's about how my life responded to the promise God gives us
  665. 41:05that when we live for Him, He'll make everything our lives
  666. 41:08work together for good.
  667. 41:09And that will ignite your life.
  668. 41:11If you go to Amazon, don't look at reviews.
  669. 41:14You got hundreds of, they're all five-star reviews
  670. 41:16that they all say, I never shared my faith before ever.
  671. 41:20And now I'm sharing my faith every day
  672. 41:22I'm having a ball of having the time of my life doing it. You're missing out folks. This is what being a Christian is all about.
  673. 41:30You know, I'm gonna read that. This is so powerful. We mentioned Luke 12 12 and I would encourage you to ponder on that verse.
  674. 41:37But this is Isaiah 43 10 that Barry
  675. 41:41Reference and God's Word says this, you are my witnesses as the Lord and my servant whom I have chosen that you may know
  676. 41:49and believe me and understand that I am he before me.
  677. 41:54There was no God formed nor shall there be after me.
  678. 41:58You know, Barry, there's so much in here.
  679. 41:59I have to say I've never heard this before right now
  680. 42:03that we're his witnesses that we may believe that that's
  681. 42:09powerful that.
  682. 42:11No, it doesn't say so that you'll believe more.
  683. 42:14It says this is how you believe.
  684. 42:17This is it.
  685. 42:18This is how you believe.
  686. 42:19I point you so you will understand and know that I am God.
  687. 42:25Folks, if you're not doing this,
  688. 42:26you're missing out on the joy,
  689. 42:29the relationship, the intimacy with Jesus Christ
  690. 42:31and having his Holy Spirit speaking through you.
  691. 42:34This is what life's all about.
  692. 42:35Indeed.
  693. 42:37Indeed.
  694. 42:38Hey, I've got to tell you this.
  695. 42:39I want you to comment on it.
  696. 42:41Just shortly after COVID,
  697. 42:44so we're talking about four or five years ago,
  698. 42:47but life way did a study of 20 to,
  699. 42:52people that were roughly early 20s to late 30s,
  700. 42:56of people that had no church background whatsoever.
  701. 43:00And they said, 86% said,
  702. 43:04I would strongly consider going to church
  703. 43:08if somebody invited me.
  704. 43:10I want to say something.
  705. 43:10Just invited.
  706. 43:11Yeah, 86% of people with no church background,
  707. 43:15quote, they would strongly consider going to a church service if somebody invited them.
  708. 43:22Now that's almost nine out of 10. I'll take those odds.
  709. 43:27Absolutely. But we should not need you to say, well, I'll share my faith by inviting somebody to
  710. 43:31church. No, no, you minister to them immediately. You can't expect somebody 30 minutes serving to
  711. 43:36get saved. Your job is to lead them, move them closer to Jesus. So when they get to church,
  712. 43:42They're ready for whatever your pastor has to say to them.
  713. 43:45And by the way, let me just check.
  714. 43:48Gen Ziers, I think Gen Ziers are the only hope
  715. 43:50for America globally.
  716. 43:53They're so open to truth.
  717. 43:54They're looking for truth.
  718. 43:56God is the truth.
  719. 43:57Jesus, when they understand that he's the truth
  720. 43:59and they can actually have a relationship with truth
  721. 44:03with the Holy God and they can have purpose
  722. 44:06and they want purpose.
  723. 44:07They want to make a difference.
  724. 44:08They're tired of the hypocrisy
  725. 44:10and the empty sermons and the failings,
  726. 44:12they're tired of all that.
  727. 44:13They want truth and this is truth,
  728. 44:16this is balanced, a bone solid truth.
  729. 44:20When they realize that they can actually be used
  730. 44:22have purpose every day sharing their faith,
  731. 44:24and it ignites them.
  732. 44:26They've really done it.
  733. 44:27So the Gen Zears, man, I'm having a blast
  734. 44:30as an 83 year old guy talking to Gen Zears
  735. 44:33and they're more receptive than older folk
  736. 44:36because they want to make a difference.
  737. 44:38They're primed and ready for action.
  738. 44:41And I think they're the great hope for America.
  739. 44:44Indeed.
  740. 44:45Indeed.
  741. 44:46Indeed.
  742. 44:47They really are.
  743. 44:48They're spiritually hungry.
  744. 44:49God is moving.
  745. 44:50I've got to tell you something.
  746. 44:51So there's a gas station near our house where I go in to get gas quite a bit.
  747. 44:58And the man that runs this convenience store is originally from India.
  748. 45:02He was a Hindu, but he was not really devout.
  749. 45:06He had the red dot on his forehead. So about two months ago, he asked me, he said, what do you do?
  750. 45:12He said, I see you come and go and you'll be gone a week or two weeks. And I told him that I, you know,
  751. 45:19was a Christian speaker. And so we're talking about that. And I could tell that he was interested.
  752. 45:25So I gave him a little gospel booklet. And every time I would go in there, I would try to share more.
  753. 45:30Well, one week ago my wife and I went on a Saturday night and it was probably about 830
  754. 45:37or quarter of nine and I just felt led and I knew in my heart this was his day and we went
  755. 45:44in there.
  756. 45:45There's like nobody there much and I said, hey, let's resume our conversation.
  757. 45:52Well, I asked permission because he was in his workplace.
  758. 45:56You know this.
  759. 45:57said, can we talk about the gospel? Well, he prayed to accept Christ right there in his
  760. 46:02store. It was fantastic. And we shared some things with him and I gave him a Bible. So
  761. 46:10I went back just a couple of days ago and he was so full of joy, gave me a hug. The red
  762. 46:16dot is gone and he's growing in the Lord. Twenty-two years old. I thought he was older
  763. 46:24that. But, and I thought about you, Barry, because I thought Barry Maguire would try to lead this
  764. 46:31guy to Christ, and he came to the Lord. Oh, man. And what has that done for your life?
  765. 46:40What has that done to you personally? No, you've got you.
  766. 46:44It gives me joy, and I give God the glory. Absolutely.
  767. 46:50But you know, I figured out 50 years ago, when I get to heaven, it's not going to matter
  768. 46:55how many bottles of car wax I sold.
  769. 46:57That is not going to be an issue.
  770. 46:59I worked long and hard.
  771. 47:01I worked 12 hour days for 30 years.
  772. 47:03Yeah, I did that.
  773. 47:05But I knew even when I was doing that, that was temporary.
  774. 47:08It was all going to go away.
  775. 47:09I love cars.
  776. 47:10I'm a car guy.
  777. 47:11I'm a beach guy.
  778. 47:12I'm at the beach right now.
  779. 47:13I have all the normal patients, but I know all this is going to go away in a moment and
  780. 47:17perhaps sooner than we can even imagine.
  781. 47:19And then we're glory.
  782. 47:21And the only thing that's gonna matter folks,
  783. 47:23if you're a Christian, the only thing that's gonna matter
  784. 47:25when we're in heaven is how many people aren't having
  785. 47:28because of our influence.
  786. 47:30Yes, amen.
  787. 47:31Think about it.
  788. 47:32How many people are there?
  789. 47:34And Paul said to the Thessalonians,
  790. 47:36what would be my glory?
  791. 47:37What would be my reward, my crown,
  792. 47:39when I see Jesus face to face.
  793. 47:41And then he turns to his people and he says,
  794. 47:43it's you.
  795. 47:45Those of you I've led to the Lord will be my glory, my reward, my
  796. 47:48crown in heaven for eternity.
  797. 47:50Whoa.
  798. 47:52So you haven't done it yet.
  799. 47:54It's you got plenty of time left.
  800. 47:56You get a lot of people that have it be.
  801. 47:57We're running out of time.
  802. 47:58We just say, let's get as many people in heaven as we possibly can
  803. 48:01before we run out of time.
  804. 48:03And it's it's it's it's like the gun lap and when the athletes are
  805. 48:07running that last lap of the race and the gun goes off and the camera goes
  806. 48:11into the front runners and you can see the sinews, the muscles, the strain.
  807. 48:15Everything they can to win the gold.
  808. 48:17Folks, that's where we need to be.
  809. 48:19If you're a Christian, that's where we need to be,
  810. 48:21to do everything we can to get everybody possible
  811. 48:25into having before that trumpet sounds.
  812. 48:28Thank you, Barry McGuire.
  813. 48:29God bless you, man.
  814. 48:31What an inspiration you are to so many, myself included.
  815. 48:35Igniteamerica.com, seekinggod.org is the website.
  816. 48:40And by the way, folks, let me just say this in closing.
  817. 48:42If you want to make sure that you have Jesus in your life pray today, Jesus is listening,
  818. 48:48Jesus is calling you.
  819. 48:50It's no accident you've heard this radio show, and John 637 Christ said, the one who comes
  820. 48:55to me, I will in no way reject.
  821. 48:58Remember, Jesus is as close by as a prayer.
  822. 49:01God bless you, thanks for listening, and tell somebody about Christ.
