  2. 0:03It simply reoccupies the space vacated by the light.
  3. 0:06This is the Hamilton Corner on American Family Radio.
  4. 0:11It should be uncomfortable for a believer to live as a hypocrite.
  5. 0:15Delivery people out of the bondage of mainstream media.
  6. 0:18And the philosophies of this world.
  7. 0:20God has called you and me to be His ambassador.
  8. 0:24Even in this dark moment.
  9. 0:26Let's not miss our moment.
  10. 0:28and now the Hamilton Corner.
  11. 0:33Well, good evening America.
  12. 0:34Alex McFarland, you're very honored to be sitting in tonight
  13. 0:37for Abe Hamilton on the Hamilton Corner.
  14. 0:40You're listening to the American Family Radio Network,
  15. 0:42and we are going to get straight to it.
  16. 0:44We've got a great show with just a vitally important topic,
  17. 0:48a multi-layered topic, spiritual, cultural, moral, legal.
  18. 0:54And so this is one that you'll probably want to share
  19. 0:57with somebody, by the way, all the programs are archived at afr.net and this one will
  20. 1:02be as well.
  21. 1:04And I want to cue this up by mentioning Martin Luther, the great reformer.
  22. 1:09And we are here today riding on the ripple effect of his courage from five hundred and
  23. 1:16eight years ago during the Reformation.
  24. 1:18But Luther basically said regarding issues in his generation, it was the gospel itself.
  25. 1:25But he said, you know, where the battle rages our willingness to speak truth, that's where
  26. 1:32the the makeup of the Christian is is shown and proven.
  27. 1:36The fidelity and the courage of the soldier is demonstrated by their willingness to take
  28. 1:43a stand where the battle rages the most fierce.
  29. 1:48And in our lifetime, I mean, there are so many issues, but I will tell you, having pastored
  30. 1:52two churches spoken in 2000, been around the block a little bit. There is no more prominent
  31. 2:01front burner issue in our lifetime than the issue of what God's word says and natural
  32. 2:09law says about morality and even gender and what the culture says and the LGBTQ trans agenda,
  33. 2:17world view activist. We know these are people God loves. These are people for whom Christ died.
  34. 2:24These are people who, like all of us, can be redeemed through Jesus Christ. We've interviewed
  35. 2:31literally dozens of former advocates that once championed the LGBTQ trans movement, but their life
  36. 2:40was changed and their life can be changed. And so to talk about this, especially because of some
  37. 2:47legislation, current and pending legislation in a number of states, very honored to weigh
  38. 2:54in on this topic with a longtime colleague and very trusted voice, expert voice on the subject,
  39. 3:01Anna Edwards.
  40. 3:02She leads the Restored Hope Network, which I will let her tell you about that, but great,
  41. 3:08great work they're doing to not only educate and inspire people, but I believe really encourage
  42. 3:16the church and clergy to stand strong for truth regarding God's word versus where the culture wants
  43. 3:25to be. Edward, thank you for being with us tonight on the American Family Radio Network, but even
  44. 3:31more importantly, thank you for the work you're doing through restored hope. Glad to have you.
  45. 3:36Well, it's a delight to be with you, Alex and the listeners. It's lovely to join you.
  46. 3:43Thank you so much for the opportunity. It's always a privilege to bring truth to the equation
  47. 3:51where it's often challenged. Well, I appreciate you. You and I have been at conferences and I've
  48. 3:58watched you on media interviews and you are always so articulate and very factual.
  49. 4:06And you keep your cool. I've never seen you get rabbled. How do you maintain your composure and just your demeanor when sometimes people are just being very critical, pushing back, and you always keep it together. And how do you do that?
  50. 4:26Well, at the moment, I really think I try and focus on the eternal perspective that God
  51. 4:38wants to win the individual who has a different point of view right now, that he loves them
  52. 4:45and I love them.
  53. 4:47And I know that truth is on the side of the God of truth, the one who made all things.
  54. 4:53So reality belongs to him.
  55. 4:56So it's not threatened easily.
  56. 4:59And if I don't feel threatened, then it's way easier to love my neighbor and to appeal
  57. 5:07to him or her with truth and find a common basis with which to make that appeal.
  58. 5:15And I don't know why.
  59. 5:17I think God's just partly gifted me with that.
  60. 5:20So I can't claim all that myself,
  61. 5:22but he has given me grace to handle
  62. 5:26very challenging situations from time to time.
  63. 5:29And yeah, especially at that 2019 conference
  64. 5:32that you were with me in,
  65. 5:34I ended up being interviewed by a gay reporter with,
  66. 5:38I don't remember,
  67. 5:39it was one of the major networks.
  68. 5:41And he revealed that he was getting married to his partner,
  69. 5:44his male partner during our interview.
  70. 5:47And God enabled me to not even flinch and move ahead
  71. 5:51right with the love of God and the truth of God.
  72. 5:54And we'll be here for you when you should you consider
  73. 5:57aligning with your faith.
  74. 6:01I remember that that was in Minneapolis, Minnesota, wasn't it?
  75. 6:05That is right.
  76. 6:06That's been a while.
  77. 6:08And while, yeah, time goes by folks,
  78. 6:12the voice you're hearing is Ann Edward of Restored Hope.
  79. 6:15And I want to take a moment and talk about the conference,
  80. 6:20because you put on excellent conferences
  81. 6:22throughout North America.
  82. 6:25And for those that may be unaware, restored hope,
  83. 6:28bring us up to speed on all that is the restored hope network.
  84. 6:33Well, thank you so much, Alex, for being able to share about that.
  85. 6:36The Hope Conference is coming up in just a couple of weeks.
  86. 6:39It's on June 20th and 21st on Friday, Saturday.
  87. 6:44and people can join us online.
  88. 6:46So just to find out how to register,
  89. 6:48you go to Restored Hope Network.org.
  90. 6:52But what we'll be covering is God's design
  91. 6:55and hope for those who want to leave behind LGBT.
  92. 6:59It will also be about overcoming pornography
  93. 7:02or sexualized media addiction.
  94. 7:05We have a specialist who's gonna be sharing with us
  95. 7:09about his own struggle in that area
  96. 7:10and his support of other people who are leaving
  97. 7:15and walking free out of porn, which is a big deal.
  98. 7:19If you look at the research right now,
  99. 7:22Barna and other show that about 30 to 50% of Christian
  100. 7:29church going women are dealing with porn addiction.
  101. 7:32And men, it's really how much higher.
  102. 7:35Yes, so it's really, really strong.
  103. 7:37And our little phones have made that
  104. 7:40even more difficult to combat.
  105. 7:43There's so many algorithms also that tend to show teens
  106. 7:47pornography and get them hooked at an early age.
  107. 7:50So there are literally many struggles
  108. 7:53that are coming hard and fast at this generation.
  109. 7:57So unless they guard their hearts
  110. 7:58and they find the freedom of Jesus,
  111. 8:00they're gonna be a hooked financial partner
  112. 8:05with the porn industry.
  113. 8:07So anyway, we're gonna be covering as well
  114. 8:09a whole lot of testimonies, a whole lot of hope for those who want to align with God's will
  115. 8:14for their lives and their sexuality, their gender and their relationships.
  116. 8:20You know, with the Restored Hope Network, I've appreciated that you've had many, many great
  117. 8:28experts.
  118. 8:31And one thing that I've appreciated about the website is that it's a repository of really
  119. 8:37good content.
  120. 8:38And I want to thank you because I do a lot of media interviews.
  121. 8:43I've done three today, short form, and it might be Fox News, or it might be, you know,
  122. 8:50some secular news radio or television.
  123. 8:52And many a day I've gone to your website and produced the journal articles to, you know,
  124. 9:00cram in preparation for an interview.
  125. 9:03But tell people about what you have there and it's a resource is what it is really a
  126. 9:10very authoritative resource.
  127. 9:11It really is.
  128. 9:12Right.
  129. 9:13It has a lot of information that can educate people on the topics of transgenderism and
  130. 9:20what where are the battle lines drawn and what are the arguments for faith and that kind
  131. 9:26of thing.
  132. 9:27Even the people who helped create minor transitioning in certain countries are changing their minds
  133. 9:35for good reason because the clients are not improving in mental health.
  134. 9:41After all that they've invested in these young people or they think they've invested, I would
  135. 9:47think it's more mutilation of the children's bodies.
  136. 9:51they've come down to the data doesn't hold up mental health well-being after encountering
  137. 9:59transgender surgery and medical interventions. And so what they're seeing in Europe, we haven't
  138. 10:06yet come alongside of. But anyway, the restorativehopenetwork.org website does have that kind of information
  139. 10:13in there. It has many articles, it has newsletter articles and devotionals and things like that,
  140. 10:20also of it, personal stories, access to all of our previous recordings from hope conferences and
  141. 10:29keynotes like you, Alex. Many of those are on there and then it has articles like the ones that you
  142. 10:36mentioned, but the most important thing in my mind is that it has direct reference to local support.
  143. 10:43So if parents have a loved one who's coming out as trans, non-binary, gay, or something like that,
  144. 10:49and they're going through crisis. They're having a loved one who says I'm marrying someone of the same
  145. 10:54sex and they're really grappling with grief on that area. They can reach out directly on our website
  146. 11:01to parent support groups that we have all over the country. So whether you want to join one in your
  147. 11:07region, it's all up to you. But the boy, there's a lot of different options for people around the
  148. 11:12the country. So we love to supply the day to day support and encouragement and for those
  149. 11:19who are wanting to walk out of one of the letters, and align with their faith in Jesus, and to
  150. 11:27align with their body, their bodily reality, we're here for them. We want to support them.
  151. 11:34And there are many ways that we can support them. So yeah, that reference is right on
  152. 11:38our website. Later on in the program folks we will open up the funds for
  153. 11:43questions and honestly there in my opinion there is no more expert voice from whom
  154. 11:52to solicit counsel than Ann Edward of Restored Hope and so later on we will
  155. 11:58open up the funds and give you an opportunity to ask questions and we
  156. 12:02will get to some issues about legislation but and for just a little bit
  157. 12:08more on the spiritual side of things. The New Testament calls the church the pillar and ground
  158. 12:15of truth. And I think as a minister and as individual Christians, we have a responsibility to lovingly
  159. 12:23but decisively proclaim truth. And yet, I got to tell you, most of my pastor friends would never
  160. 12:33Preach a sermon about biblical sexuality and certainly not something against homosexuality.
  161. 12:41What do you think that is the silence of the pulpit on this? To what do you attribute that?
  162. 12:48I'd say it's fear. Fear-based thinking you're going to come back with. People are going to
  163. 12:55be upset at you. Someone will be upset if you cover that topic in the congregation.
  164. 13:01So that's one thing. Another thing is if the world gets wind of it, they may attack full force.
  165. 13:07So you really have to be behind an understanding of what biblical sexuality is.
  166. 13:13Vocal sexuality, that's a great topic. That's a positive topic. And we can approach it from that
  167. 13:20direction as well. That there are many sin struggles related to sexuality that humans have
  168. 13:26that doesn't make them biblical, right?
  169. 13:30And there are things outside of God's design
  170. 13:32for his beautiful creation.
  171. 13:35And you can focus in on the beauty of that design
  172. 13:40and avoid a lot of the trouble in that sense.
  173. 13:42It's almost like taking a wedding sermon
  174. 13:46and bringing it into the church service
  175. 13:48and preaching it from the pulpit.
  176. 13:50That's actually approachable for most pastors.
  177. 13:54That's something they do all this, isn't it?
  178. 13:56Now, you don't have to call out homosexuality, or you can call it out amongst many other
  179. 14:03sins that people participate in that mar the image, the good image that God designed of
  180. 14:10husband and wife, and he being, this is an eternal design, this is an echo through the
  181. 14:16ages of the gospel.
  182. 14:18And so if we ignore that, it's important to recognize that we're actually ignoring a
  183. 14:24a symbol that's part of humanity that points towards God.
  184. 14:29So Jesus being bridegroom, the church being the bride,
  185. 14:34God the initiator in Hosea, the people of Israel,
  186. 14:38the one who is doing adultery, spiritual adultery.
  187. 14:41I mean, that imagery is throughout the scripture.
  188. 14:45And so if we avoid it.
  189. 14:46And forgive me.
  190. 14:47We've got a break coming up.
  191. 14:49I don't mean to run over you there,
  192. 14:50but this is the Hamilton Corner, Alex,
  193. 14:53and Edvard, stay tuned more after this brief break.
  194. 15:00A discipleship minute with Joseph Parker.
  195. 15:03The great servant of the Lord John Wesley,
  196. 15:05his word for spiritual habits was means of grace.
  197. 15:08Your prayer life is a means of grace.
  198. 15:10Your time in the word of God is a means of grace.
  199. 15:13Your obedience is a means of grace.
  200. 15:15Your praise and worship and thanksgiving,
  201. 15:17those are means of grace.
  202. 15:18Those are tools you and I can put to work in our lives
  203. 15:21that can appropriate or help us to get a hold of
  204. 15:24of and use effectively grace that's available to each and every one of us.
  205. 15:29And the fact is, God has an ocean of grace available to us all, but we have to reach up and grab it.
  206. 15:35Spiritual habits help us to reach up and draw from that wonderful ocean of God's grace.
  207. 15:41Your prayer time, your time and the word, your obedience, all of them help you to appropriate
  208. 15:46grace in your life and to funnel more grace to pour into your life in greater measure.
  209. 15:51It's important that we take advantage of these wonderful
  210. 15:54blessings and opportunities God gives to each and every one of us.
  211. 16:05Shining light into the darkness.
  212. 16:07This is the Hamilton quarter, an American family radio.
  213. 16:13Welcome back to the program.
  214. 16:14Alex McFarland here along with Anne Edward of the Restorative Hope Network.
  215. 16:19We're talking about a Christian response to the LGBTQ messaging that we see all
  216. 16:27around us and before the break you were talking about. I had asked you about the church and
  217. 16:34our responsibility to speak truth. You know you mentioned preaching through a list of sins
  218. 16:41so it doesn't sound like maybe we're calling out just one. And I want to be quick to say
  219. 16:47the Bible condemns heterosexual promiscuity. But you mentioned something and I want you
  220. 16:56to elaborate on it. The defaced image, we're made in the image of God. And I've often said
  221. 17:04this in, Satan couldn't kill off God. You know, you read Isaiah 14 and Lucifer wanted to overthrow
  222. 17:13heaven. Satan could not kill off God. So he has tried to harm and dehumanize and debase the
  223. 17:21the ones made in God's image.
  224. 17:23Is that a fair summarization of history on this?
  225. 17:26That is an exceptional summarization.
  226. 17:29And if he can't accomplish that on his own,
  227. 17:33he will see if he can get us to cooperate with that.
  228. 17:38And that's how I see the trans movement actually operating
  229. 17:42because honestly what we've found is
  230. 17:46people who go down that pathway, you've heard the claims,
  231. 17:49Do you want a dead daughter or a live son?
  232. 17:53So do you want your daughter to appear like a son
  233. 17:56and you embrace that?
  234. 17:58Or do you want your daughter to commit suicide?
  235. 18:00That's the condition that's thrown towards parents
  236. 18:05about their children.
  237. 18:06If they go to a woke counselor,
  238. 18:09if they go to a governmental agency,
  239. 18:11if they're talked to by, you know,
  240. 18:14child protective services or somebody in a children's hospital.
  241. 18:18psych division or you name it. Those pressures are coming at parents all the time. Is that really
  242. 18:26true though? It isn't actually. It's a false dichotomy. It's a false dichotomy and people who
  243. 18:33don't align with their physical reality. If they're at disagreement with what they have that cannot
  244. 18:41change because it's in every cell of our body. It's not just the physical organs,
  245. 18:45the sex organs, it's all the way through.
  246. 18:50Every cell of the body has DNA in it as male or female.
  247. 18:54So there are many things impacted by that.
  248. 18:57Lungs, bones, bone structure, circulatory system, digestive system,
  249. 19:03what kind of muscle fibers are in your muscles?
  250. 19:06Seriously, there are so many different elements
  251. 19:09way beyond the bodily reality.
  252. 19:12but what happens is, in set of mental health increasing, it decreases.
  253. 19:17It made the person might have a high initially, especially taking testosterone,
  254. 19:23because it feels like they have more power.
  255. 19:25They're more angry, and so you'll find that women who are transitioning or trying to
  256. 19:31or taking male hormones of a huge quantity are the ones who are committing these heinous acts.
  257. 19:37They tend to go in and shoot up children like Nashville, that kind of thing.
  258. 19:42Not everybody does mind you, but it's no surprise that male hormones tend to lean toward more towards violence.
  259. 19:51And who would have guessed that a male taking female hormones, that person will be more depressed?
  260. 19:58Estridians are downer of all things. It didn't take this test to show that, right?
  261. 20:05But the fact that the bad thing that's happening is boys or men who take a lot of high doses
  262. 20:12of estrogen are finding that they have an increased likelihood of hospitalization after suicide
  263. 20:19attempt.
  264. 20:20So the most serious measure of suicidality is occurring because of pumping a body that's
  265. 20:28It's not meant to have that much estrogen, full of estrogen.
  266. 20:33And these individuals are trying to take their lives.
  267. 20:37I mean, the very thing they're claiming
  268. 20:41is what the trans medical procedure pathway
  269. 20:44is actually funneling kids down towards mental distress
  270. 20:48and mental health issues.
  271. 20:50And what they said in Europe essentially is,
  272. 20:56we are funneling kids, we are taking kids
  273. 20:58and just giving them cross-sex hormones
  274. 21:01and putting them on that pathway,
  275. 21:02but we're not dealing with their depression,
  276. 21:05their anxiety, their actual mental health issues,
  277. 21:09their distresses, their trauma from their past,
  278. 21:12all sorts of things.
  279. 21:13They're ignoring those completely
  280. 21:15and just putting them down this route
  281. 21:17of getting different cross-sex hormones
  282. 21:20or hormone blockade and then surgical pathways.
  283. 21:25And those surgeries don't turn out well often.
  284. 21:30They have side effects that are quite dangerous
  285. 21:33and may have involved lifelong pain
  286. 21:35in some of the most intimate parts of the body.
  287. 21:38And so honestly, there's not a lot of hope down that pathway.
  288. 21:43And is there a big surprise press?
  289. 21:46It isn't a big surprise for us, is it Alex?
  290. 21:50Well, no, it isn't.
  291. 21:51And folks, let me say we're talking with Ann Edwardo,
  292. 21:55the Restorative Network Leader of the upcoming Hope Conference that I would urge parents,
  293. 22:02pastors, leaders, just concerned citizens.
  294. 22:06Look, even if you're not a Christian, because we're going to segue, we're going to talk
  295. 22:09about some legislation, folks, I would say spiritual considerations aside, although obviously
  296. 22:17the spiritual considerations are the most paramount, but the legal considerations.
  297. 22:23This is a whole not a subject we've interviewed many people, but the imposition of the LGBTQ
  298. 22:32trans worldview requires the dismantling of the Judeo-Christian philosophical foundation
  299. 22:42of the US Constitution.
  300. 22:43I know this is a bit of a heavy lift.
  301. 22:46deep discussion, but as trans rights quote unquote are imposed upon the American people,
  302. 22:55what has to give way, and it is giving way, are natural rights. Now, we're going to get into that,
  303. 23:02but before we do, and this is from about five years ago, but the epidemiologic review journal,
  304. 23:13which is a medical journal. There was an article that I read and I quoted from Cancer in Transgender
  305. 23:21People, Evidence and Methodological Considerations. This was an article signed off on by a number of
  306. 23:30endocrinologists and doctors and of gender reassigned patients. And you mentioned testosterone
  307. 23:38being administered to females, estrogen being administered to males. They list 17 types of cancers,
  308. 23:48stomach cancer, muscle tumors, pancreas, liver, lymphoma, melanomas, cancers and reproductive organs of both
  309. 23:56sexes. And the article, and it one quote and it said, current literature indicates a disproportional
  310. 24:10burden of adverse health conditions. In other words, 17 types of cancers that ordinarily people
  311. 24:20would not even get, but they are getting because of hormone replacement therapy. Could you speak
  312. 24:27to that? Does that data continue to accumulate? It surely does. It surely does, and it's super sad
  313. 24:37to read this, but the truth of the matter is a woman's body does not produce that amount of testosterone
  314. 24:46unless there's a cancerous object. There's a testicular, not testicular women don't have that, but only in the
  315. 24:54case of a certain cancer does the testosterone rise along those lines. So it's telling the body you have cancer as well.
  316. 25:03as well. So one, cancers, two, it's telling a message of cancer whether or not that's
  317. 25:09there because the testosterone administration is so high. And then the emotional instability
  318. 25:18is also in place. And then there's also other issues. If you give a female body testosterone
  319. 25:26and the blood cells increase in the circulatory system,
  320. 25:31much higher than a female's body should be.
  321. 25:35What happens there?
  322. 25:35There is a potential chance of clotting
  323. 25:39in the circulatory system,
  324. 25:41which can lead to strokes, heart attacks, you name it.
  325. 25:44And so embolisms, that kind of thing.
  326. 25:46So we're talking about pretty serious health risks
  327. 25:49associated with all.
  328. 25:52Well, and the journal articles
  329. 25:54that I was reading us doing a lot of research
  330. 25:56I ended up going to a major oncology hospital in North Carolina, interviewed two doctors
  331. 26:07and a surgical oncology nurse.
  332. 26:10And actually some of these persons were pulling out of this hospital because they were being
  333. 26:16pressured to engage in procedures that they did not feel like they could ethically do.
  334. 26:23But this is what a surgical oncology nurse said to me and I quote, and I was showing
  335. 26:30these journal articles, many of which are from Europe because a lot of American medical
  336. 26:34journals are silent on these issues.
  337. 26:37But this particular oncology nurse said to me to transition, HRT, hormone replacement
  338. 26:44therapy, to transition is to give yourself cancer.
  339. 26:50Now to the ministers out there and the Christians that say,
  340. 26:55oh, don't be hateful, don't preach against those B.T.K.
  341. 27:00trans issues.
  342. 27:02Look, Jesus said, love our neighbor.
  343. 27:05And if I'm loving my neighbor, why would I encourage them
  344. 27:10towards something that would jeopardize their body
  345. 27:13if not their soul?
  346. 27:16Right.
  347. 27:17I mean, if you just think about that related to smoking,
  348. 27:21There were class action lawsuits done by states against the tobacco industry, right?
  349. 27:29Because it was cancer causing.
  350. 27:31It's cancer causing.
  351. 27:32So they had to put warning labels and all sorts of other things.
  352. 27:36And yet the US has propelled, especially under the Biden administration during that time,
  353. 27:42was forcing people and institutions to embrace something that's not even aligned with reality.
  354. 27:51that the outcomes and the dangers of this policy
  355. 27:55are physical, they're mental,
  356. 27:57and they're definitely spiritual,
  357. 28:00but physically alone, just the physical.
  358. 28:03It's incredibly damaging to the body.
  359. 28:07Indeed.
  360. 28:07So don't be concerned with you completely, Alex.
  361. 28:10Well, the legislation like in Colorado
  362. 28:16that a Christian camp is facing litigation
  363. 28:20because they don't want to comply with legislation
  364. 28:24that even taken to its end could put teenage males
  365. 28:28and females showering together.
  366. 28:29I mean, just crazy irresponsible stuff
  367. 28:32that I would say amounts to child endangerment.
  368. 28:36But where does the legislation stand?
  369. 28:40Well, there's churches and ministers
  370. 28:43and laws against deconversion therapy.
  371. 28:47So let's talk about this for a bit.
  372. 28:50Absolutely.
  373. 28:51A bill was just a sign.
  374. 28:52There's two different things that you might have mentioned.
  375. 28:55One is about conversion therapy, which is really counseling bands.
  376. 29:00You aren't allowed to help somebody align with their body who's a minor in the state of Colorado
  377. 29:05or seek to leave behind homosexuality or to reduce actions or behaviors or attitudes
  378. 29:13or feelings along those lines.
  379. 29:16allowed to help people explore gender transition and that's not considered conversion therapy
  380. 29:22according to the law. So that's been challenged by Kayleigh Childs. Kayleigh Childs has sued
  381. 29:30and it has been reviewed by the state, sorry, the state Supreme Court, it was held that counseling
  382. 29:40between a minor and a counselor is actually considered conduct not speech. Okay, so conduct
  383. 29:47or speech, that's the big debate. And then it went up to the circuit court, which is the
  384. 29:5210th circuit here in Colorado, and the 10th circuit court ruled that the state could control
  385. 30:00conduct of somebody who's in a profession, and that this was conduct, and therefore they upheld
  386. 30:07the law that was being challenged. It has since gone to the US Supreme Court and so we're looking
  387. 30:13forward to the US Supreme Court hearing the arguments and making a decision is speech within a counseling
  388. 30:23practice is that speech or is it conduct? The Ninth Circuit Court which controls California,
  389. 30:31Oregon, Hawaii, Washington, etc. That has ruled that it's conduct. They did a really bad circuit.
  390. 30:39The Ninth Circuit is notoriously woke, notoriously leftist district, isn't it?
  391. 30:45It is. It's the most overturned circuit court in the nation. But Colorado has been very, very, very overturned by Supreme Court lately with the Jack Phillips cake case,
  392. 30:58and tell expression.
  393. 31:00And actually, the argument here is,
  394. 31:04shall a person be allowed to obtain the counsel
  395. 31:08and help that they're seeking to leave homosexuality,
  396. 31:12even if they are a minor?
  397. 31:14Is it allowed to have that conversation
  398. 31:17within and it's talking only?
  399. 31:19We're not talking any other thing.
  400. 31:22So, by the way, prayer is talking as well.
  401. 31:27praying with someone is talking with the person and with God.
  402. 31:31So that's speech and that's being prohibited in a lot of places.
  403. 31:35But anyway, this counseling case has been accepted
  404. 31:37up to the US Supreme Court.
  405. 31:39And we're feeling pretty confident
  406. 31:40that that might be overturned.
  407. 31:43So the 11th Circuit Court,
  408. 31:46which covers Georgia,
  409. 31:50Florida and Mississippi overturned
  410. 31:53all the minor bans for those three states
  411. 31:56in the circuit court.
  412. 31:57And the ruling was, this is speech.
  413. 31:59There's no special card out for speech for counselors.
  414. 32:03They also have the right to speech and so the client.
  415. 32:07And so we believe that's gonna be the ruling
  416. 32:10or something along those lines,
  417. 32:12but we don't know until it happens of course.
  418. 32:15What happened lately in Colorado,
  419. 32:19it never seems to stop and it's pursuit of all this.
  420. 32:22And at least forgive me, hold that thought.
  421. 32:25I hear the music, we've got a break.
  422. 32:27So, if you have a question for Anne Pogg,
  423. 32:29the number is going to be triple eight,
  424. 32:31589-8840, triple eight, 589-8840.
  425. 32:36We'll take any questions relative to this subject.
  426. 32:40This is the American Family Radio Network
  427. 32:42with our guest Anne Edward of Restorative Network.
  428. 32:45Alex McFarland saying stay tuned.
  429. 32:47We're back with your calls and more content after this break.
  430. 33:00AFA action takes attacks on the family seriously.
  431. 33:03The enemies of the family constantly employ new tactics to try to sneak past our radar.
  432. 33:08They know if we stand together their evil plans will fail.
  433. 33:12Your gift to AFA action allows us to stay vigilant against their onslaught.
  434. 33:17And if you give this month, you'll receive access to the Cultural Institute video when
  435. 33:21your faith is illegal by Frank Harbor on AFA Stream as our thanks.
  436. 33:26You can make your gift today at AFAAction.net.
  437. 33:30Many books of the New Testament are letters from apostles to churches,
  438. 33:35but there is one book containing seven letters to churches,
  439. 33:39and they were dictated by Jesus Christ himself.
  440. 33:42I'm David Wolin, join me and my guest, Dr. Joe Stoll,
  441. 33:46on a Haven Today series called Letters from Jesus.
  442. 33:50Haven Today, weekdays mornings at 430 Central on American Family Radio.
  443. 33:55Listen online at aFR.net.
  444. 33:59Mental health industry missing the mark.
  445. 34:02This is David Wheaton, host of the Christian worldview.
  446. 34:05The statistics are staggering.
  447. 34:07One in five people in America have been diagnosed with a mental illness.
  448. 34:11One in six are taking powerful psychotropic medications, such as antidepressants,
  449. 34:17anti-anxiety, and stimulants.
  450. 34:19And here's the troubling part.
  451. 34:21The material brain and the immaterial mind are wrongly considered to be one in the same,
  452. 34:26which means wrong and harmful treatments are administered.
  453. 34:30God's way to a sound mind is the right way.
  454. 34:33When we obey His command to be born again,
  455. 34:36we can then be, as scripture says,
  456. 34:38transformed by the renewing of your mind.
  457. 34:41Here in most recent program with Greg Gifford,
  458. 34:43author of Lies My Therapist, told me at
  459. 34:46TheChristianWorldView.org and then tuning this weekend
  460. 34:49as we discuss how to lead your family.
  461. 34:52Listen to The Christian World View with David Wheaton.
  462. 34:55Saturday mornings at 8 Central on American Family Radio.
  463. 34:58The Hamilton Quarter podcast and one-minute commentaries are available at
  464. 35:09eafr.net back to the Hamilton Quarter on American Family Radio.
  465. 35:14Welcome back to the program Alex McFarland here. We're going to resume our conversation with Anne
  466. 35:22Edward of Restored Hope. By the way, if you have a question or comment the LGBTQ trans
  467. 35:28And issue legislation that's in front of us every day, if you want to call the question,
  468. 35:36the number is 888-589-8840, triple 8, 5, 8, 9, 8, 8, 40.
  469. 35:43I want to say a word about our own speaker series that we've got this summer.
  470. 35:47In addition to seven youth camps, please pray for I and my staff.
  471. 35:52I'm in Montana right now.
  472. 35:53This is our first week of seven youth camps, but additional to the youth camps for teens.
  473. 36:00We've got a speaker series for grownups and we call it conversations that matter.
  474. 36:06For this, we're in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, one of the big resort areas of our nation.
  475. 36:12Coming up June 15, we have Dr. Gary Chapman, who wrote the five love languages.
  476. 36:16Dr. Chapman is a longtime friend and colleague.
  477. 36:20We had on May 4th, we had Dinesh D'Souza, people came from 10 states, it was amazing.
  478. 36:27And then later on we'll have Charlie Kirk, we'll have Lauren Green from Fox News and a
  479. 36:31whole lot of other things.
  480. 36:33So Biblical World View Matters, please if you would, check out AlexMcFarlane.com slash
  481. 36:40conversations.
  482. 36:42And my travel schedule is on there as well.
  483. 36:46And so we look forward to seeing you when we come to your town.
  484. 36:49I'm sure we will eventually. Well, by the way, Anne, let me ask you this before we get calls.
  485. 36:57Your willingness to speak, can people book you and bring you to speak in their city?
  486. 37:05Yes, they can, but I do as the network executive director of over this umbrella organization's
  487. 37:13organization I am rather busy so they will have to ask in way in advance and I will see
  488. 37:21what I can do.
  489. 37:22So you're different than me.
  490. 37:23I would speak somewhere 365 nights a year and I almost do but I know you're maybe not
  491. 37:33quite the road warrior though.
  492. 37:36That's right.
  493. 37:37You are much more the road warrior than I am Alex.
  494. 37:41That is true.
  495. 37:42But the website, if you would give your website again.
  496. 37:45Absolutely, that would be RestoredHopeNetwork.org.
  497. 37:50RestoredHopeNetwork.org.
  498. 37:54So, since you've got it, go ahead.
  499. 37:58I was just going to say that the HB bill that passed the 1312,
  500. 38:04that the Christian Camp sued related to, that's such a big deal.
  501. 38:10many other groups have also sued about it. There's a parents advocacy group and
  502. 38:18do no harm group and all sorts of another doctor. And there are so many elements to do with this bill
  503. 38:27that require, they literally require you to use the name of whatever the person's chosen right then.
  504. 38:34So if you're a parent, that's really difficult. Your son wants to be called Marie or who knows
  505. 38:40what. You would have to use that or it could be used in custody hearings or the child protective
  506. 38:47services potentially. They did remove a portion of that from the bill that did pass and was signed
  507. 38:53by Governor Polis. So it is in effect but they've been sued on at least several suits that I'm
  508. 39:01aware of that have multiple different people involved. And essentially it is are you compelling
  509. 39:09us to use particular speech? And the answer is yes. Yes, the state of Colorado wants you
  510. 39:16to compel you to use certain speech or you'll be considered discriminatory or that's discrimination
  511. 39:22language. And so that gets you into a whole other field of lawfare that brings in challenges,
  512. 39:30a parent's right to speak their mind or an educator's right to speak their mind.
  513. 39:36And also the ruling by the early Department of Early Childhood Education has said basically
  514. 39:44to this Christian camp, no, you don't have a religious exclusion from allowing someone,
  515. 39:50the person who identifies as another gender must be housed in that gender grouping. So yes,
  516. 39:56Boys can be housed with girls in that case,
  517. 40:01simply because of the Department of Education.
  518. 40:04So they have sued those particular departments as well.
  519. 40:08And yeah, there's a lot going on in Colorado.
  520. 40:12Used to be a red state, you know?
  521. 40:14And then it's purple.
  522. 40:15Now it's blue.
  523. 40:17It's solid blue.
  524. 40:19Well, we're gonna go to John in North Carolina.
  525. 40:23By the way, if you have a question
  526. 40:24or you wanna weigh in on the conversation,
  527. 40:25the number, triple eight, five, eight, nine, 88, 40.
  528. 40:31John, in my home state of North Carolina,
  529. 40:34thanks for holding welcome.
  530. 40:36Yes, sir, I was just calling to get some clarification
  531. 40:42on the ruling by the court in reference to
  532. 40:47what's considered behavior versus speech.
  533. 40:51I'm a mental health counselor myself.
  534. 40:54And so this is kind of close to my heart
  535. 40:58and to what I do for a living.
  536. 41:00So I'm trying to, and I'm sure that there's lots of opportunity
  537. 41:05to ask a variety of different questions
  538. 41:07to dig into this, because it's a big topic.
  539. 41:10But as a baseline, I'm just trying to understand
  540. 41:13maybe the comparison or maybe an example
  541. 41:16of what's considered behavior versus what's considered speech,
  542. 41:21because I'm not sure how talk therapy gets categorized
  543. 41:25as behavior.
  544. 41:28Great question.
  545. 41:29Well, that's a great question,
  546. 41:31and I think that's what we're mostly all puzzled by.
  547. 41:35So in the liberal Northwest,
  548. 41:38and part of my family lives in Washington state,
  549. 41:41they had decided that you can compel speech
  550. 41:45in a professional setting because professionals are doing,
  551. 41:49It's professional conduct, speech is conduct
  552. 41:52within a professional setting.
  553. 41:54So they are not considering that as being protected
  554. 41:58under the First Amendment, right?
  555. 42:00So they feel like they have the right
  556. 42:04to impose their views if it's considered conduct.
  557. 42:10And literally that's the language as opposed to behavior.
  558. 42:13They consider it conduct.
  559. 42:16So the ruling of the 10th Circuit,
  560. 42:18the one that oversees Colorado, the ruling of the Ninth Circuit that handles most of the West Coast.
  561. 42:25And then another circuit, I can't recall which one. But the Eleventh Circuit actually ruled that speech
  562. 42:32is speech and it is talk therapy being done. So therefore it's protected under the U.S.
  563. 42:38the First Amendment. And I believe there, there's is the most logical argument. So I believe that's
  564. 42:46what's going to prevail in the long run with calmer heads and and wiser thoughts going on there.
  565. 42:55It is puzzling how you could consider talk therapy or discussion or conversation to be
  566. 43:03conduct versus speech, but that's that's the distinct in there that's the fine line they're drawing.
  567. 43:08Do you know anything about the 4th Circuit Court, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, South Carolina, the collars from North Carolina, the 4th Circuit?
  568. 43:20Are there any legal minds?
  569. 43:22They don't know. They tend to be a bit more liberal in the 4th Circuit, but I don't know what the 4th Circuit ruling is.
  570. 43:30I can look it up. I can find it for you pretty quickly. So if you go to a different question,
  571. 43:37I'll find the answer and come back.
  572. 43:39Yeah, I want to go to Rebecca in Texas. Rebecca, thanks for holding this. I think potentially
  573. 43:45could be a very important call, but Rebecca, you're on with our guest Ann Edward.
  574. 43:51Yes, thank you very much. Do you have materials you could recommend that I could give to a family
  575. 43:59member a nephew that his daughter is transing and they aren't Christian and so they are just
  576. 44:06fanning the flames of this trans but she actually has gotten more depressed after taking, do you
  577. 44:17have resources that you could, I could point them to?
  578. 44:23Absolutely. If you go to our website, RestoredHopeNetwork.org, under Resources, you'll find recommended
  579. 44:33resources. And then there's resources for trans resources. Within that, there are a number of
  580. 44:43different things, including articles at the top and the fact sheets that we published after a very
  581. 44:50extensive review of the research out there. So what Endocrine experts are saying, medical
  582. 44:59consequences, there are some very powerful documentaries. One is in his image that American
  583. 45:06Family Association also helped. Fantastic. Yes, and transformed is a great documentary
  584. 45:15that talks about has 15 different people's experiences
  585. 45:20of encountering the trans movement
  586. 45:23and what brought them into that,
  587. 45:25how they stepped out of it.
  588. 45:28So it's got the personal stories involved.
  589. 45:31And then if you scroll down a bit more,
  590. 45:33there's a whole bunch of books on different stages of life
  591. 45:36from dangerous affirmations by transgender experience
  592. 45:41written by Jerry Lake and Denise Schick
  593. 45:42to de-sis, detrans, detox, getting your child out of the gender cult by Maria Koeffler, who's
  594. 45:50a counselor, and a whole bunch of other doc books. Abigail Schreier's book, Irreversable Damage.
  595. 46:01So all sorts of things there that they might want to check out.
  596. 46:05Rebecca, our prayers are with you and your family, and I'm deeply grateful you would call.
  597. 46:12I want to go to Kenneth in Texas, time fleets away, and we've got to have you back.
  598. 46:18But Kenneth, are you there?
  599. 46:20I'm here.
  600. 46:23Yes.
  601. 46:24I have a very loud opinion that, and it's not very humble, that this garbage starts and
  602. 46:41the colleges.
  603. 46:44We have lots and lots of professors out there turning out students with nonsensical degrees
  604. 46:58in gender studies, ethnic studies, and all of these studies.
  605. 47:07And those are the people who go to court to make sure that your teacher, your child's
  606. 47:18teacher can transition, help your child transition without you knowing about it.
  607. 47:24Okay, Kenneth, forgive me for jumping in.
  608. 47:28But I agree having spent 25 years of my life in higher education.
  609. 47:33Yeah, a big part of the problem are secular universities and even some traditionally Christian
  610. 47:40denominational colleges and grad schools that are work.
  611. 47:44Kenneth, point well taken.
  612. 47:45I want to go to Tyrone in Oklahoma.
  613. 47:48Tyrone, are you there?
  614. 47:50Yes. Yes, I've just had a question for Jeff Kennedy,
  615. 47:54and he's in talk about medicine.
  616. 47:57Has he committed about how these hormones are affecting children?
  617. 48:04And is he going to take a stand on that?
  618. 48:07And I'll just hang up and listen for your comment.
  619. 48:10Thank you. And are you aware of his position?
  620. 48:13I'm not aware of his position related to the hormones, actually.
  621. 48:19The couple of the executive orders that have come from President Trump
  622. 48:25have pinpointed the impact of the medical transitioning and how dangerous that is.
  623. 48:31So I do know that the president is not for transing children.
  624. 48:36That much I'm very aware of that. He's made very clear.
  625. 48:40He said that there's only two genders, for example, and that was such a relief to hear from the White House
  626. 48:46But as far as the Kennedy, I am not sure what is on that
  627. 48:51I want to try to squeeze in Larry's call from Indiana. Larry, are you there?
  628. 48:57Hello, Alex. I am yes quickly, please and thank you
  629. 49:02Sure, Alex and and and the guest
  630. 49:05I can't remember your name, I'm sorry, but I worked as a psychiatric nurse for about 38
  631. 49:12years, inpatient, mostly inpatient, locked units, and my last 13 years outpatient, I quit the
  632. 49:20job the last time.
  633. 49:21I resigned from the last job after, like I said, been there 13 years because I was not
  634. 49:28basically not allowed to question these young people
  635. 49:34after what they were doing,
  636. 49:35has they thought about it?
  637. 49:38Were they concerned about the harm that it might do to them?
  638. 49:41So I had to quit and I just wondered
  639. 49:43if there's any sort of a place
  640. 49:46for all the psychiatric nurses across the country
  641. 49:49that they could go to and you gave the name
  642. 49:51of your organization and if you could give that again,
  643. 49:54I'd appreciate it.
  644. 49:55Great, take it away.
  645. 49:56Absolutely.
  646. 49:58RestoredHopeNetwork.org.
  647. 50:02Youth can come to us, there are certain states
  648. 50:05where it's illegal to help them,
  649. 50:07but we have people who can help all over the country.
  650. 50:11And so in many cases, they can receive either pastoral care,
  651. 50:16or they can be helped in that particular state.
  652. 50:20So it's a matter of those things.
  653. 50:23And forgive me.
  654. 50:24We'll return by next year.
  655. 50:25We're on this out of time.
  656. 50:26And Edward, all the callers, thank you.
  657. 50:29Marty, Bobby, Jeff, McIntosh, thanks for engineering
  658. 50:32and listeners, thank you.
  659. 50:33Blessings.
