  7. 0:20God has called you and me to be his ambassador.
  8. 0:24Even in this dark moment.
  9. 0:26Let's not miss our moment.
  10. 0:28And now the Hamilton Corner.
  11. 0:31Good evening, everyone.
  12. 0:35Welcome to the Hamilton Corner on this national day of prayer.
  13. 0:42I am so grateful to be a citizen in a country to where we still have a national day of prayer.
  14. 0:51My name is Abraham Hamilton III.
  15. 0:53I am the host of the Hamilton Corner.
  16. 0:54I am joined by the corner contingent right across from me, my man, a hundred grand Mr.
  17. 0:59Bobby.
  18. 1:00rrosa national day of prayer Bobby rosa that that is and in the screening room we
  19. 1:06Have national day of prayer produced extraordinaire the real J Mac ladies and gentlemen often imitated
  20. 1:12but never ever ever successfully duplicated and we are ready to rock and roll with today's
  21. 1:20addition of the program at this very moment.
  22. 1:23Many of you not most of you are making your way from your part time jobs where you generate
  23. 1:28and income to your full time jobs where you cultivate an outcome.
  24. 1:32And as you do so, I want to remind you to do it with intentionality because what goes on
  25. 1:38in your house is far more important than what goes on in the White House or as the events
  26. 1:45for the National Day of Prayer took place today in the Rose Garden, what goes on in your house
  27. 1:49is far more important than what goes on in a Rose Garden.
  28. 1:52Simply put, it is one thing, vitally important to have a National Day of Prayer from the chief
  29. 1:58executive of our nation, the head of our military, our chief diplomat, and the one task with the
  30. 2:09execution of the lost passed by Congress. But at the National Day of Prayer is only something
  31. 2:15that transpires in the Rose Garden, Washington, D.C. But there is no prayer taking place in
  32. 2:19our homes. Let me just tell you very plainly that is a formula to ensure that America does
  33. 2:25not and is not a great nation because what goes on in your home guys what goes on in my home
  34. 2:34is far more important far more important than what goes on in the White House. And apparently
  35. 2:42Congress seems to agree because they released their schedule and in the next guess what you
  36. 2:46want to call it for months they'll be on vacation more than they'll be actually working
  37. 2:51because there are 41 days where they're scheduled to work but 48 days where they're scheduled
  38. 2:56not to work, which, you know, I understand the deal when the Congress was created.
  39. 3:01It was instituted initially to be a part-time gig.
  40. 3:04I don't have any problem with it being a part-time gig as long as it is a true part-time
  41. 3:09gig.
  42. 3:10But don't tell me it's full time and you work part-time because that's what we have going
  43. 3:15on.
  44. 3:16But I don't want to get into all of that at this particular juncture.
  45. 3:21It is an, it is important for us to recognize that the first human institution that got created
  46. 3:26was the family, the first human institution, before you got to get to modern iterations
  47. 3:32of civil government, before you even get to orders of priests and prophets, a New Testament
  48. 3:38at Classia, the first human institution that God established is the family.
  49. 3:42With marriage, the lifelong union of one man committed to one woman with the capacity to
  50. 3:47bear offspring is the marital institution.
  51. 3:52But this calls, the word of God says, well, should I say it this way, that God says, as
  52. 3:55recorded in his word, but this call shall a man, a mature adult human male, be joined
  53. 4:03to his wife, a mature adult human female.
  54. 4:09And the two shall become one flesh in which the conjugal one flesh union is an intrinsic
  55. 4:13feature of God's design and definition for marriage.
  56. 4:16And because God is marriage's designer, he alone is its definer.
  57. 4:24To the word of God we go Philippians 4, a very, very familiar passage of Scripture.
  58. 4:29Paul's Epistle to the Philippians is written in the early 60s AD according to what most scholars
  59. 4:35date the book, the Church of God at Philippi was near and dear to.
  60. 4:40The Apostle Paul's heart, it is the first church that was established on what we know to be the
  61. 4:46European continent.
  62. 4:49This is also the place where the word of God records Lydia's heart was opened to the gospel
  63. 4:56becoming the first convert in Philippi.
  64. 5:02And Philippians chapter four,
  65. 5:04verses four through seven says this.
  66. 5:08Rejoice in the Lord always.
  67. 5:12Again, I will say rejoice.
  68. 5:16Let your gentle spirit be known to all men.
  69. 5:20The Lord is near.
  70. 5:22Be anxious for nothing, but in everything,
  71. 5:25by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving.
  72. 5:30Let your requests be made known to God.
  73. 5:33And the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension
  74. 5:37will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
  75. 5:43I've referred to this portion of scripture in the past
  76. 5:45as God's prescription for worry.
  77. 5:47It is one of the biblical sources that communicate
  78. 5:51the fact that persisting in a state of worry
  79. 5:54is actually sinful for a Christian to persist
  80. 5:57in a state of anxiety and worry
  81. 5:59is a sinful disposition.
  82. 6:02Why?
  83. 6:03Because it requires us to exclude from our internal calculus
  84. 6:07the reality of God and who he is.
  85. 6:11And to say it differently, it requires us to deny God
  86. 6:14practically in order for a believer to persist in worry.
  87. 6:19Several things I want to point out from the scripture,
  88. 6:23the Lord being intimately familiar
  89. 6:25with the human condition.
  90. 6:27We have the transcendent text in Hebrew, chapter four,
  91. 6:30we have not a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our human infirmities, but who was tempted
  92. 6:37in every way as we are yet without sin. So we human beings on this side of eternity may boldly
  93. 6:45approach the throne of grace to obtain mercy in times of need. God puts things like this in his
  94. 6:52word because he knows we as human beings have the temptation, face the temptation to worry.
  95. 7:01God does not expect his children to be superhuman or some of these tech magnates would be transhuman.
  96. 7:15God understands that we human beings, but our humanity is not a sufficient justification
  97. 7:19or an excuse for us to curate for ourselves
  98. 7:22lifestyles of disobedience and rebellion.
  99. 7:26God puts things like this here because he knows
  100. 7:29that we all will face worry from time to time.
  101. 7:35The way we confront it is not by denying it.
  102. 7:39There's some people say that faith is lying
  103. 7:41about the present circumstances.
  104. 7:43No, you're not the lie to be a person of faith.
  105. 7:45Faith doesn't deny reality.
  106. 7:46It persists in light of reality.
  107. 7:49So instead of being racked with anxiety, the Lord directs us through the Apostle Paul,
  108. 7:56but in everything, in the Greek for everything, there literally means everything, but in everything
  109. 8:01by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. That's one of the key components of having
  110. 8:10an effective prayer life. The instruction to cry out to the Lord with thanksgiving requires us to always
  111. 8:21refasten ourselves to the person to work of Christ, to reconsider and reorient ourselves to who exactly it is that we're praying to.
  112. 8:31To be reminded that we are praying to the one who is omnipotent, be reminded that we are praying to the one who is omniscient,
  113. 8:38to be reminded that we are praying to the one who is omnipresent, we are praying to the one who was the answer before the question was even raised.
  114. 8:45That's the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords that we're crying out to.
  115. 8:49That is why we can make our supplications and our anxiety alleviating cries to the Lord
  116. 8:57with thanksgiving because of who it is that we're crying out to.
  117. 9:05Instead of airing our grievances and being frequent complainer, we've been to everybody's
  118. 9:10here around the water cooler.
  119. 9:12We'll complain that anybody will come up to us.
  120. 9:14Instead, let's fold that into prayer.
  121. 9:17Let that be known to God.
  122. 9:20Let those requests be known to God.
  123. 9:25In the peace of God the scripture says, which surpasses all comprehension, guys, there is
  124. 9:32a peace in Christ that is available to us that defies logic, that defies natural evaluations
  125. 9:39of circumstances.
  126. 9:42It's a kind of peace that settles in when there are three Hebrew boys that are thrown
  127. 9:50into furnaces that are heated exponentially higher than normal, so that the ones who
  128. 9:55tossed them into the furnace, they get burned up.
  129. 9:57But then the boys who were tossed into the furnace at this point, they were men, the men
  130. 10:03who were tossed into the furnace bound are later viewed in the fire, walking around, unbound.
  131. 10:14Not only that, didn't we toss three cats in there?
  132. 10:17And why is it looking like there's four in there?
  133. 10:23And the fourth one, the fourth one looks like he's something other than the other three.
  134. 10:32The scripture says, it looks like the Son of God.
  135. 10:37Guys, that's available to us.
  136. 10:41You know, one of the amazing things, this is the same.
  137. 10:43Epistle, the Apostle Paul talks about, and this is a verse that's so consistently taken
  138. 10:47out of context.
  139. 10:49His ability to do all things through Christ who strengthens him.
  140. 10:55People use that to try to copy and paste over every circumstance what Paul is actually
  141. 10:58explaining in the context,
  142. 11:00per prior to that particular expression,
  143. 11:03is that he says,
  144. 11:04I've been a based and I've been about and I've abounded,
  145. 11:06meaning that I've been in destitute conditions,
  146. 11:09I've been poor, I've been impoverished,
  147. 11:11I've been hungry, I've been in horrible circumstances,
  148. 11:14I've been bludgeoned, I've been beaten,
  149. 11:16I've been falsely accused, I've been falsely incarcerated,
  150. 11:18I've been left for dead,
  151. 11:19I've suffered all of these negative circumstances.
  152. 11:22I've also abounded in natural circumstances.
  153. 11:25I've been in circumstances where I'm well supplied,
  154. 11:27We have lots of money, lots of food, lots of things to eat.
  155. 11:30Nobody trying to chop my head off.
  156. 11:32I've had peaceful circumstances, but I've learned the secret of being content in either of those contexts,
  157. 11:40circumstantially, and in that full range of spectrum on those extreme ends, overly impoverished
  158. 11:46and subdued, overly abounding, and triumphing, and everything in between.
  159. 11:53I've learned the secret of contentment regardless of what station I'm in.
  160. 11:56that contentment is being fixed upon the Christ.
  161. 12:02Because I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
  162. 12:06That's what Paul is saying in that text.
  163. 12:10These verses that precede that particular text,
  164. 12:13you know, give you insight as to how Paul can say those things.
  165. 12:20I can do all things through Christ because no matter what circumstance I find myself in,
  166. 12:25I am in those circumstances with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
  167. 12:31You know, it's very similar to Jesus being in the boat
  168. 12:34with his disciples and the storms are raging.
  169. 12:42And you have someone about to even go to Jesus
  170. 12:44because he's asleep, probably not snowing,
  171. 12:48but I don't know, he's asleep.
  172. 12:50And they hasten to wake Jesus up,
  173. 12:54don't you care that we died?
  174. 12:55This is what they say.
  175. 12:57You have dudes in the boat afraid to die
  176. 13:00because of the storm and they're talking to the one
  177. 13:04who speaks to storms and storms, stop.
  178. 13:05If you're speaking to the one who actually
  179. 13:07spoke those winds and waves and spoke those
  180. 13:11H2O molecules into existence,
  181. 13:16that's the one that we're appealing to.
  182. 13:19So if you ask the question,
  183. 13:20when is it the right time to pray always?
  184. 13:23When is the time to pray and when is the time to pray?
  185. 13:25It's always the time to pray.
  186. 13:26Praying doesn't nullify working.
  187. 13:30Praying and working go hand to hand in hand,
  188. 13:32but what often occurs in our lives,
  189. 13:34that we're more comfortable with working
  190. 13:36because if we be honest,
  191. 13:38Some of us are more comfortable with us being our own Lord.
  192. 13:41We're more comfortable with us being on the throne.
  193. 13:44I've said before, some people approach prayer
  194. 13:47like a winning case of emergency break glass kind of phenomenon.
  195. 13:49Only being willing to pray after you've exhausted
  196. 13:52every human outlet.
  197. 13:55What we believe about prayer more specifically,
  198. 13:57what we believe about the God who answers prayers
  199. 13:59made evident based on when we employ it.
  200. 14:03If we truly believe that God answers prayer,
  201. 14:06why would we wait until we've done everything else?
  202. 14:09And none of that stuff worked and then we'll pray.
  203. 14:13It's always right to pray.
  204. 14:16Be anxious for nothing but in everything
  205. 14:18by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving,
  206. 14:20that your requests be made known to God
  207. 14:23and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding
  208. 14:26or all comprehension will guard your hearts
  209. 14:30and your minds in Christ Jesus.
  210. 14:33We cannot and will not have a great nation
  211. 14:36if we are a prayerless nation.
  212. 14:40and having times to where our public servants
  213. 14:45call our nation to fasting and to prayer
  214. 14:48and to humility before God are indispensable components
  215. 14:53of being a vibrant, thriving nation.
  216. 15:00A discipleship minute with Joseph Parker,
  217. 15:03the work of being a parent is an awesome responsibility.
  218. 15:06It's a great responsibility.
  219. 15:07It's a privilege, it's a joy.
  220. 15:09Our job is to do all we can to help our children
  221. 15:12to come to know Christ, and then to passionately be involved in the work of
  222. 15:16disciples and helping them to grow up in their faith, to become mature, strong, vibrant young
  223. 15:21men and women who love Jesus and live for Jesus every single day. Lord, with every passing day,
  224. 15:28more and more help us all to grow an understanding of how critical it is that we do our job, that
  225. 15:33we carry out what you've called us to do, but help us to know, Lord, that your Word is a wonderful tool,
  226. 15:38A wonderful guidebook in helping us to be faithful disciples and faithful disciple makers as well.
  227. 15:45Use us in a wonderful way to help them to come to know Christ,
  228. 15:49and then use us and work through us to help our children to come to fall in love with you and with your word.
  229. 15:55In Jesus' name we do pray.
  230. 15:57Shiting light into the darkness, this is the Hamilton Corner on American Family Radio.

  257. 17:29And I guess I should go ahead and tell you guys now,
  258. 17:32it has been confirmed, we'll also be in Israel this summer.
  259. 17:37We'll have some programming from there as well.
  260. 17:40So just stay tuned.
  261. 17:42I'll try to keep you all up to date,
  262. 17:43but this is gonna be a busy, busy, busy, busy summer.
  263. 17:48But praise God, I am looking forward to it.
  264. 17:51All right, today is, as I mentioned in the first segment,
  265. 17:56the National Day of Prayer.
  266. 17:57This is actually a congressionally established
  267. 18:00national day, it was created by law, a National Day of Prayer.
  268. 18:04The formalization of the date took place in 1952.
  269. 18:09However, America has a long and enduring history,
  270. 18:13even preceding the Revolutionary War of having national days of
  271. 18:19solemnity and fasting and prayer and humiliation before God
  272. 18:24that have been proclaimed throughout our nation's history.
  273. 18:28In preparing for this program today I came across,
  274. 18:34oh yeah I've been to I've been to plain on numerous times. I will be in Texas,
  275. 18:38I guess I'll tell you all now, I know for a fact we have an event
  276. 18:41scheduled in Texas in 2026 in the Houston area. H town stand up. We'll get to that later. That's
  277. 18:50coming. That's coming back to this. I was preparing for today's program and I came across
  278. 18:58a presidential proclamation for National Day of Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer from the first
  279. 19:08Vice President of the United States of America, the second President of the United States of America,
  280. 19:13John Adams. John Adams. Oh, yes. Yes. Meral being age town. Yes. You're back yard. But that's not
  281. 19:25yet. I'll let you know when that's coming. I'll give you plenty of advanced notice for that.
  282. 19:33John Adams National Proclamation for Day of Humiliation, Fascian Prayer. I have to tell you
  283. 19:39in reading it, I was moved to tears, man. And it is, and I'll tell you very plainly why I was moved
  284. 19:48to tears because my heart yearns have this type of leadership not just at the top of our
  285. 19:56national government but throughout our nation, not only in governmental roles but throughout
  286. 20:03the populace of our society. We need this. We need this. On March 6, 1799, President John Adams
  287. 20:17issued this proclamation declaring April 25, 1799 to be the national day of
  288. 20:25humiliation, fasting, in prayer. John Adams was an attorney, diplomat, you know, he
  289. 20:32served as the chief justice of superior court of Massachusetts, delegate to the
  290. 20:37Massachusetts Constitution Convention, you know, first vice president of our
  291. 20:40nation under the Constitution, second president of our nation, you know, he had a
  292. 20:46A bitter political rival in the form of Thomas Jefferson, it ultimately ended up becoming his
  293. 20:50best friend whom we know through history's recordings, both he and Thomas Jefferson died
  294. 20:56on the exact same day on the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence signing.
  295. 21:03And as the president, I want you to hear that this is not a pastor sermon.
  296. 21:07This is not a seminary discourse.
  297. 21:10This is the president of the United States proclaiming a day of fasting, prayer, and humiliation.
  298. 21:19That's his words for the United States of America.
  299. 21:24And it's so profound that I have to read it.
  300. 21:28I have to read it.
  301. 21:29I have to read it.
  302. 21:31There's some words I'll have to try.
  303. 21:35I'm going to try my best just to read it without interjecting with any commentary.
  304. 21:39I just trust that one understand.
  305. 21:42This is late 1700s verbiage, but President John Adams made this proclamation quote, as
  306. 21:52no truth is more clearly taught in the volume of inspiration.
  307. 21:56Volume of inspiration is capitalized.
  308. 21:58That's his artful way of saying the Bible.
  309. 22:00All right.
  310. 22:01As no truth is more clearly taught in the volume of inspiration, nor any more fully demonstrated
  311. 22:06by the experience of all ages, than that a deep sense and a due acknowledgement of the
  312. 22:12governing providence of a supreme being and of the accountableness of men to him as a searcher
  313. 22:19of hearts and righteous distributor of rewards and punishments are conducive equally to the
  314. 22:25happiness and the rectitude of individuals and to the well-being of communities.
  315. 22:31As it is also most reasonable in itself that men who are made capable of social acts and
  316. 22:36relations who owe their improvements to the social state and who derived their
  317. 22:41enjoyment from it should as a society make their acknowledgments of dependence
  318. 22:47and obligation to him who hath endowed them with these capacities and elevated
  319. 22:53them in the scale of existence by these distinctions as it is likewise a plain
  320. 22:58dictate of duty and a strong sentiment of nature that in circumstances of great
  321. 23:02urgency and seasons of imminent danger earnest and particular supplications should be made to him
  322. 23:08who is able to defend or to destroy. As moreover, the most precious interests of the people of the
  323. 23:15United States are still held in jeopardy by the hostile designs and insidious acts of a foreign
  324. 23:20nation, as well as by the dissemination among them of those principles subversive of the foundations of
  325. 23:26of all religious, moral, and social obligations that have produced incalculable mischief and
  326. 23:32misery in other countries. And as in fine, the observance of special seasons for public
  327. 23:38religious solemnities is happily calculated to avert the evils which we ought to deprecate
  328. 23:45and to excite to the performance of the duties which we ought to discharge by calling and fixing
  329. 23:50the attention of the people at large to the momentous truths already recited by affording
  330. 23:55opportunity to teach and inculcate them by animating devotion and giving to it the character of a
  331. 24:04national act. Let me pause. He made that statement about there being currently hostile designs of a
  332. 24:11foreign nation because if you recall the flames of Britain's anger over their defeat at the Revolutionary
  333. 24:17War didn't subside. Remember they actually ended up making a broad side against the US in the early
  334. 24:241800s because it was still saber rattling, if you will, back to President Adams's proclamation.
  335. 24:31Whoa, for these reasons, I have thought proper to recommend and I do hereby recommend accordingly
  336. 24:39that Thursday, the 25th day of April next be observed throughout the United States of America
  337. 24:46as a solemn, sorry, as a day of solemn humiliation, fasting, and prayer that the citizens on that day
  338. 24:57abstain as far as may be from their secular occupations, devote the time to the sacred duties
  339. 25:03of religion in public and in private that they call to mind our numerous offenses against the
  340. 25:12most high God, confess them before him with the
  341. 25:16sincerest penitence, imploring his partening mercy through the
  342. 25:21great mediator and redeemer for our past transgressions, and that
  343. 25:26through the grace of his Holy Spirit we may be disposed and
  344. 25:30enabled to yield a more suitable obedience to his righteous
  345. 25:35requisitions in time to come. I have to pause when he writes
  346. 25:44that we may confess our offenses against the Most High God.
  347. 25:49And that through the great mediator and redeemer,
  348. 25:51the words mediator and redeemer are capitalized.
  349. 25:53He's referring specifically to Christ, guys,
  350. 25:55as the mediator, the only mediator between God and men.
  351. 26:01You have the president of the United States
  352. 26:03calling the citizens of the nation that he's serving
  353. 26:09to confess this sins before God,
  354. 26:14with sincerest penitence, imploring his pardoning mercy
  355. 26:19through Christ Jesus.
  356. 26:22Guys, we need presidents like this.
  357. 26:24I'm not trying to knock anybody.
  358. 26:25I don't want anybody to say, I'm knocking anybody.
  359. 26:27I'm not knocking anybody.
  360. 26:28I'm presenting this so that we can see one,
  361. 26:31that we've had this type of leadership
  362. 26:32in our nation in the past.
  363. 26:35And to the ask, if we would not sustain
  364. 26:39this type of leadership today, what has happened?
  365. 26:45Back to the proclamation.
  366. 26:49I have to read that last sentence again,
  367. 26:51because it's not gonna flow properly.
  368. 26:56I'm gonna go back and say that they called them
  369. 26:57on our numerous offenses against the Most High God,
  370. 26:59Confessed him before him with the sincerest penitence, implore his parting mercy through the great mediator and redeemer for our past transgressions,
  371. 27:06that through the grace of his Holy Spirit we may be disposed and enabled to yield a more suitable obedience to his righteous requisitions in time to come,
  372. 27:17that he would interpose to arrest the progress of that impiety and licentiousness in principle and practice,
  373. 27:24so offensive to himself and so ruinous to mankind.
  374. 27:29that he would make us deeply sensible, that righteousness exalted the nation,
  375. 27:34but sinners are approached to any people, that he would turn us from our transgressions
  376. 27:38and turn his displeasure from us, that he would withhold us from unreasonable discontent,
  377. 27:44from disunion, faction, sedition, and insurrection,
  378. 27:49that he would preserve our country from the desolating sword,
  379. 27:54that he would save our cities and towns from a repetition of those awful,
  380. 27:59pestilential visitations under which they have lately suffered so severely,
  381. 28:04in that the health of our inhabitants generally may be precious in his sight,
  382. 28:09that he would favor us with fruitful seasons and so bless the labors of the husbandmen as a farmer,
  383. 28:15as that there may be food and abundance for man and beast,
  384. 28:21that he would prosper our commerce, manufacturers and fisheries and give success to the people in all
  385. 28:26their lawful industry and enterprise. That he would smile on our colleges, academies, schools and
  386. 28:33seminaries of learning and make them nurseries of sound science, morals and religion. That he would
  387. 28:39bless all magistrates from the highest to the lowest, give them the true spirit of their station,
  388. 28:45make them a terror to evil doers and appraise to them that do well. That he would preside over
  389. 28:51over the councils of the nation at this critical period,
  390. 28:54enlighten them to a justice sermon of the public interest
  391. 28:58and save them from mistake, division, and discord,
  392. 29:02that he would make, succeed our preparations for defense
  393. 29:06and bless our armaments by land and by sea,
  394. 29:09that he would put an end to the effusion of human blood
  395. 29:12and the accumulation of human misery
  396. 29:15among the contending nations of the earth
  397. 29:17by disposing them to justice, to equity, to benevolence, and to peace, and that he would
  398. 29:23extend the blessings of knowledge, of true liberty, and of pure and undefiled religion
  399. 29:29throughout the world.
  400. 29:31And I do also recommend that with these acts of humiliation, penitence, and prayer, fervent
  401. 29:39thanksgiving to the author of all good be united for the countless favors which he is still
  402. 29:44continuing to the people of the United States and which rendered their condition as a nation
  403. 29:50imminently happy when compared with a lot of others. Given under my hand and the seal of
  404. 29:55the United States of America at the city of Philadelphia, the sixth day of March, in the
  405. 30:00year of our Lord, 1,799, and of the independence of the state and the independence of the said
  406. 30:06States the 23rd by by the president, John Adams, end quote, do y'all see now why I was moved
  407. 30:19the way I was moved. You have the president of the United States calling the entire nation
  408. 30:26to fasting and prayer, not only prayer, but humiliation before the Lord, which includes
  409. 30:33confessing our sins, confessing our sins individually, confessing our sins corporately in his proclamation.
  410. 30:46praying in his proclamation, in which he calls upon the Lord to quote, smile on our colleges
  411. 30:53and academies in schools and seminaries of learning and make them nurseries of sound science, morals
  412. 31:01and religion.
  413. 31:02When was the last time you heard a president of the United States call upon our academies
  414. 31:09and universities and schools to be nurseries of sound science, morality and religion?
  415. 31:18John Adams himself was a graduate of Harvard University, founded in 1636 to train past it.
  416. 31:26Look at where Harvard is going today.
  417. 31:31That's just one example.
  418. 31:34I'm presenting this for a number of reasons.
  419. 31:39One of the major reasons is for us to have a proper understanding of what truly makes a
  420. 31:48nation great, but truly makes a nation great.
  421. 31:56John Adams included in his prayer proclamation that the magistrates we've been talking about
  422. 32:01judiciary on this program. From the highest to the lowest will be given the true spirit of their
  423. 32:07station to be made a terror to evil doers. Consider that in a prayer that the halls of justice would
  424. 32:13terrorize the wicked and would be appraised to them that do well. Guys, that's biblical language.
  425. 32:20That's Romans 13 all day long. And then as John Adams includes his proclamation, it sounds like
  426. 32:27he's drawing from Philippians because he says, and I do also recommend that with these acts of
  427. 32:32of humiliation, penance and prayer, fervent thanksgiving to the author of all good, to be
  428. 32:40united for the countless favors which he is still continuing to the people of the United
  429. 32:45States of America.
  430. 32:46Guys, this is a part of our national DNA, and this is what we should aspire to grow towards
  431. 32:55as a core portion of our national sentiment.
  432. 33:01Some would say truth is relative, and to the world, that's right.
  433. 33:04the world considers to be truth fluctuates depending on the narrative they're trying to
  434. 33:09promote.
  435. 33:10Of course, we know truth is found in Scripture, and it never changes.
  436. 33:14The documentary The God Who Speaks proves the Bible's reliability as the source of real
  437. 33:19truth and reinforces our belief in it as our firm foundation.
  438. 33:23Watch it anytime at stream.afa.net.
  439. 33:27That's stream.afa.net.
  440. 33:31We see and hear about the big public issues happening in our nation's capital, but what
  441. 33:35about the things that happen behind the scenes?
  442. 33:38That information can give us the whole story and help shape our opinions.
  443. 33:42That's why you need to listen to Washington Watch Weekend with Tony Perkins.
  444. 33:46He and his guests will give you all parts of the Washington News from a conservative Christian
  445. 33:51perspective.
  446. 33:52Catch Washington Watch Weekend, Saturdays at 5.05am and 6pm Central, and Sunday mornings
  447. 33:58at 3 Central on AFR.
  448. 34:28Let's remember that the reward of doing God's will is far better than pursuing the paltry
  449. 34:33and temporal satisfactions of the world.
  450. 34:36The Bible says, the world is passing away and also it's lust, but the one who does the
  451. 34:42will of God lives forever.

  457. 35:10Back to the Hamilton Corner on American Family Radio.
  458. 35:14Welcome back to the Hamilton Corner, Abraham Hamilton III here.
  459. 35:19On this National Day of Prayer, I know some are asking why are you focusing on this so
  460. 35:22much and I'll just tell you very simply.
  461. 35:24I believe this is one of the most important things that can be done and should be done in
  462. 35:30our nation.
  463. 35:32I agree the board is important.
  464. 35:33I've done numerous programs on that.
  465. 35:34I agree.
  466. 35:35The economic state is important.
  467. 35:37I've done a program on the Federal Reserve that's important.
  468. 35:39All of those things are important.
  469. 35:40They are not more important than this.
  470. 35:42They're not more important than this.
  471. 35:48To that end, President Trump hosted the National Day of Prayer ceremony in the Rose Garden today.
  472. 35:56And guys, I'll tell you, I got all kinds of other clips of stuff I prepared, but I thought
  473. 35:59it was important.
  474. 36:00It's been some time on what John Adams proclaimed.
  475. 36:07hosting the National Day of Prayer ceremony and the Rose Garden, President Trump acknowledged
  476. 36:16the necessity for America.
  477. 36:20In order to be great, we must always be one nation under God.
  478. 36:24Listen to him, make these remarks at the Rose Garden today.
  479. 36:26It's clip number four.
  480. 36:28Clip number four.
  481. 36:29Go.
  482. 36:30We're bringing back religion in our country and we're bringing it back quickly and strongly
  483. 36:39because for America to be a great nation, we must always be one nation under God, a phrase
  484. 36:44that they would like to get rid of the radical left. But Ben, I don't think we're going to
  485. 36:49let them get rid of that, right? We're not letting them get rid of that.
  486. 36:54Amen. You know, it's been said, and this is not original me, if that we are, we do not remain a
  487. 37:00nation under God, we will be a nation going under. Guys, that is true. We can point to, you know,
  488. 37:10I've talked about the Federal Reserve System, but the real core problem that we have in America is
  489. 37:14that we have rejected our Lord by and large. Think for yourselves, if you had a person who
  490. 37:23campaigned and mentioned that John Adams's proclamation from 1799 was a motivating factor
  491. 37:30for him to run for the presidency and a central plank of his platform is returning America to
  492. 37:40be a nation of prayer. Do you think that candidate would be elected? I don't even have to ask if
  493. 37:50the baby murdering advocacy and the sexual deviancy,
  494. 37:55sociopolitical proponents would embrace it.
  495. 38:00What percentage of the Republican party do you think
  496. 38:02was supported candidate like that?
  497. 38:08I wanna go on, cause I wanna give you more of a flavor
  498. 38:10for what transpired in the Rose Garden today.
  499. 38:13President Trump and his remarks also harkened back
  500. 38:16to the fact that there have been national proclamations
  501. 38:19for prayer in America dating back to the Revolutionary War
  502. 38:21period that even predate the Declaration of Independence.
  503. 38:25listen to and watch clip number five, clip five, go.
  504. 38:28Today is the American people turn to God in prayer.
  505. 38:30We continue a tradition older than our independence itself, nearly 250 years ago on June 12, 1775,
  506. 38:41the Continental Congress appointed a day of fasting and prayer so that Americans fighting
  507. 38:46for their liberty could seek the help of the Almighty. And when you look at that June 12,
  508. 38:531775. So we have a very, very special day coming up.
  509. 38:59Yes, we do. And I do like we have some people commenting on the live streams. We love our
  510. 39:07president Trump said, and we're not going to let them get rid of the under God portions
  511. 39:10of our pledge. Amen. Amen to that.
  512. 39:14While leading this ceremony in the Rose Garden, President Trump actually refers to John Adams's
  513. 39:221799, proclamation of a National Day of Fasting Prayer and Humiliation.
  514. 39:29Frankly, I'd like to see that added to it as well, not just the National Day of Prayer,
  515. 39:34but the National Day of Fasting Prayer and Humility, or an humiliation before the Lord.
  516. 39:39And I'm not trying to hold anybody to some type of purity test.
  517. 39:42I'm just saying that's what I would desire to see.
  518. 39:44I'm grateful that we have a National Day of Prayer.
  519. 39:47But it's obvious to me that John Adams understood the scripture.
  520. 39:52proclamation gives evidence to that. Well, President Trump referred to a letter that John Adams wrote to
  521. 40:00Abigail Adams concerning his first national day of prayer as president of the United States,
  522. 40:05which I read to you that was proclaimed to be effective April 25th, 1799. And John Adams talked about
  523. 40:15how grateful he was that this will be a day when the American people all over the country
  524. 40:20would be on their knees, humbling themselves before God.
  525. 40:25Listen to and watch clip number six,
  526. 40:28it's just about 19 seconds, clip number six, go.
  527. 40:31In a letter to wife Abigail John Adams wrote
  528. 40:35of his first national day of prayer,
  529. 40:37millions will be upon their knees at once
  530. 40:41before their great creator imploring his forgiveness
  531. 40:44and blessing and asking for his favor
  532. 40:46on the American cause.
  533. 40:48Beautiful.
  534. 40:50Amen, beautiful.
  535. 40:52You know, it is instructive for us to see how many people
  536. 40:56are enraged at the fact that President Trump personally
  537. 41:00participated in this National Day of Prayer ceremony.
  538. 41:07I just, just note, just take note of people
  539. 41:10that are angered by that.
  540. 41:14I'll just say it this way.
  541. 41:15God ain't mad that the leader of the free world
  542. 41:20is hosting and leading a ceremony that's focused on praying.
  543. 41:24I don't want anybody to take this beyond what I'm saying.
  544. 41:26I'm not saying that President Trump is now, you know,
  545. 41:29sank Trump, you know, he walks, no, I'm saying,
  546. 41:36I'm assessing exactly what has been said,
  547. 41:39not going beyond that at any stretch.
  548. 41:42It is appropriate for me to be grateful
  549. 41:49to have acknowledgement of this thing.
  550. 41:53I'll give you one more, and obviously I can't play
  551. 41:57everything the President Trump said,
  552. 41:59but his participation in this National Day of Prayer
  553. 42:02is important for our country.
  554. 42:05Listen to the last clip I'm gonna share
  555. 42:07from the Rose Garden, just clip number seven.
  556. 42:08Listen to a watch, clip seven, go.
  557. 42:10So as we bow our heads in this beautiful day,
  558. 42:14once again we have to trust our God
  559. 42:18because our God knows exactly where we're going,
  560. 42:22what we're doing, knows every inch of our life.
  561. 42:26And may he continue to hear our prayers
  562. 42:29to guide our steps and build up our beloved nation
  563. 42:33to even greater heights.
  564. 42:38Amen.
  565. 42:39Amen.
  566. 42:41It is appropriate for us.
  567. 42:45And I know even as I'm doing this program,
  568. 42:48some people are listening to the show,
  569. 42:49and some of you may even feel uncomfortable even now.
  570. 42:54All right, babe, get to the news, get to this.
  571. 42:56And I simply want to ask why are we uncomfortable with it?
  572. 42:59Why?
  573. 43:01Is there something that we need to slow down and consider?
  574. 43:05One of the great deceptions
  575. 43:07that mankind has succumbed to dating back
  576. 43:14to the rebellion in the garden is man's effort
  577. 43:20to usurp the throne of God.
  578. 43:24A part of the reason why is uncomfortable for us sometimes
  579. 43:31to pray.
  580. 43:32And guys, if you're listening to some of your same man,
  581. 43:35that's one area in my walk, I need to shore up a bit.
  582. 43:37We had our men's Bible study last night,
  583. 43:39and one of the brothers mentioned that.
  584. 43:43There are a lot of things I do very well,
  585. 43:45but I realize that I come up short in prayer.
  586. 43:49was often because we are comfortable being practical, atheists, or at best
  587. 43:55agnostics, where there is a latent, a tacit, subtle, evidence of pride to where we live
  588. 44:02practically in a godless manner, very little consideration for the Lord. Or if
  589. 44:09there is any, it's like the garnish on the plate. Well guys, this is something that
  590. 44:15has to be redressed. It has to be. You often heard the expression that politics is nothing
  591. 44:26more than than the externalization of the theology of the people in the nation. Simply
  592. 44:31put, we vote in the way that is consistent with what we really believe generally, generally,
  593. 44:37broadly, I'm talking in broad strokes. And we've gotten to the place in our nation where
  594. 44:43there's significant portions of our country that are angered by the fact that we have
  595. 44:47national day of prayer will be angry to read John Adams's proclamation from 1799.
  596. 44:56How dare you say we need to humble ourselves? How dare you highlight the licentiousness
  597. 45:02that abounds in our nation? How dare you cry out to God as if he has anything to do with providing
  598. 45:07an answer to the pestilence that plagues our city? Do you remember that portion of John Adams's
  599. 45:13proclamation? The nation being overrun with sicknesses in certain cities crying out to God to address
  600. 45:20that. I'm not trying to throw shots at those shades to anybody, but don't you think it would
  601. 45:27have been prudent if we'd have had somebody to lead our nation in prayer when Schmovitz
  602. 45:32was being responded to the way it was? Would that not have been an appropriate response?
  603. 45:41Or do we believe that God merely needs to be the window dressing on lives that we forged by and large
  604. 45:49by ourselves? I've said before that prayerlessness amongst the people, especially of people who profess
  605. 45:59to be Christ followers is a tacit declaration of independence from God. It is a lifestyle
  606. 46:04declaration that Lord, we don't need you. We got this on our own. And brothers and sisters,
  607. 46:11I would say very simply and plainly and where has that gotten us as a nation.
  608. 46:17Just yesterday, I gave you several instances of judges, you know, who John Adams referred to as
  609. 46:23magistrates in his proclamation, judges who are violating the law in favor of using their
  610. 46:31positions on the bench to assert their political prerogatives.
  611. 46:34Guys, we've lost our way as a nation is what I'm telling you.
  612. 46:42I don't mean every single person individually.
  613. 46:45I know there's a remnant.
  614. 46:46There are exceptions to this, but broadly and generally speaking, I got a story here.
  615. 46:51I mean, I can share this with you.
  616. 46:54Meta AI, you know, Mark Zuckerberg's out, Mark Zuckerberg's outfit, you know, he's hiring
  617. 47:00celebrities to give voice to artificial intelligence.
  618. 47:04artificial intelligence offering. Listen to this briefly about 23 seconds.
  619. 47:09Click number three. Go.
  620. 47:10Metta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram is bringing more celebrity voices
  621. 47:15and upgrades to its AI chatbot. Well, this includes actors like Judy Dench, John Cena,
  622. 47:21and Kristen Bell, who will train the chatbot to replicate their voices. Another new
  623. 47:26feature is users can now have real-time conversations with the chatbot. Metta will
  624. 47:30also let social media influencers make AI versions of themselves.
  625. 47:35Guess what that little clip didn't tell you?
  626. 47:38That Metas AI is using these celebrities and their in these influencers' voices also to
  627. 47:44engage in quote graphic sex talk with users, even children.
  628. 47:48But you have these celebrity voices and the voices of the actress who plays Anna in the
  629. 47:54frozen movies and all of that and they have graphic sex talk.
  630. 47:58I cannot describe for you on the air the kinds of things that are being programmed into these
  631. 48:04this AI and using these celebrity voices to communicate. Guys, we've lost our way broadly as a people.
  632. 48:11We've lost our way. We've lost our way. But it doesn't have to continue in that fashion.
  633. 48:23There are lots of areas that must be sure that but the most important area that must be sure
  634. 48:27up is the necessity of people to repent in our nation.
  635. 48:37Is the necessity for us to humble ourselves before God.
  636. 48:43I understand because of things like Darwin's theories and the sciences.
  637. 48:51You know, John Adams, as he said in his proclamation, you know, that he's crying out for our academies
  638. 49:01in colleges and schools and universities to be nurseries of sound science, morals and religion.
  639. 49:08But today we have our universities in these places saying that a two year old child knows
  640. 49:15whether or not they've been born in the wrong body.
  641. 49:17Guys, who has been which does?
  642. 49:20Who has been which does?
  643. 49:21Who has been which does?
  644. 49:24We have elected officials who don't understand their continuing on one hand.
  645. 49:29We need to keep men out of women's restrooms, but at the exact same time, we'll say, but
  646. 49:33I support same-sex marriage.
  647. 49:35I've shared with you guys before,
  648. 49:36I got in a little thing with Representative Nancy Mase
  649. 49:39online about that.
  650. 49:43Guys, we've lost our way as a people by a law.
  651. 49:46And here's another thing.
  652. 49:47We cannot expect people who do not know the Lord
  653. 49:52to recognize how we've lost our way.
  654. 49:55That's coming upon you and me.
  655. 50:00Where are our hearts?
  656. 50:01Do our hearts burn for the eternal souls
  657. 50:03of our fellow countrymen?
  658. 50:07Does their lossness affect us at all?
  659. 50:10Or we can tent with like, hmm, those old wicked folks over there.
  660. 50:14That's not the love of God.
  661. 50:17It's where we are undisturbed by people who are facing eternal damnation.
  662. 50:23This is why I say repeatedly that we have to be about our full-time jobs.
  663. 50:26We have to be about our father's business, starting first in our homes and
  664. 50:29working outwardly from there.
  665. 50:31Because this is not something you're gonna hear from people who do not know the Lord in saving for you.
